Nice food most of the times. Good biryani and beef options with some fusion from Asian cuisine. Try the salads and you will like it.

Sadhya is the word that comes to our mind when we here the name onam.
And calicat notebook is the best place for it, searched all the kerela restaurants in Abu Dhabi but found this place a worth.
Not sure why it took me this long to try this place despite it being recommended to me several times. This restaurant may very well be the top Indian restaurant I've ever been to, my god, the appetizers, the salad, the main dish, bottom line everything was perfect.
When it comes to Onam away from home, there is no other option but Calicut Notebook. We opted for takeaway, the packaging was easy to carry and handle. All curries were yummy and took us to 'vere level.' Special mention to Subin and gang. As always, they never disappoint us.

This is the only first n last stop for us ...whenever we would like to eat Kerala food .. as usual like every year this year too they rocked with their traditional Indian ( Onam style) variety .. what else one could ask for .. Subin and their team rocks .. service on time ..every time

One of the best, if not The Best Indian Malabar restaurant I have ever been into( and I travelled alot around the world)...!! Food - Hats of to the Chefs!! Staff - Mega polite and professional, Ambient - Superb!! - clean and relaxed( including family private areas), the traditional music - awsome! And I am not from India, but what is Great is Great!!!!
Calicut notebook is a great option if you want to try Kerala cuisine. We generally order from here.
We really like their biryani, chicken curries, chicken varathiyadu, appam, wheat parotta and mushroom gravy. The flavours are authentic.
We had sadya here on the occasion of Onam. It was soul satisfying.
Overall, a good option in a nominal price.

The server Mr. Melbin Varghese was quite friendly and very humble. He ensured that all guests were served without delay and always held this big warm smile on his face even between the busy schedule. His energy, positivity and enthusiasm is a rare quality. The chef too has amazing skills which could be felt in the taste of each dish ordered. Do keep up the team work and their qualities which are rare to find. A place much recommended

The best Indian food served at the best ambience by the most courteous staff..There are not many restaurants in Abu dhabi (unlike from Dubai) who offer consistent and tasty food for such a long period. You wont miss your home back there when you have the wonderful "nadan" food varieties you get here...The staff always welcome you with the most friendly and polite manner..especially Mr.Anil Simon and Mr.Renju... Dont forget to try the mouth watering "Hamoor Tawa fry" the next time you visit there..u wont be dissapointed...
So we ordered Alleppy chicken curry and tandoori chicken with wheat paratha. Tandoori chicken was absolutely finger licking good, however the alleppy chicken curry was so so. It’s coconut based curry and very mild spice wise .. the paratha were amazing and soft. All in all the food was not bad.
Good food with good ambience. Staffs are very cordial and professional. I would say their dishes are too good that even after you leave the place the taste lingers in your mouth. Authentic Kerala food served with value for money.

Truly amazing! Excellent Exotic Indian fine dining experience at Calicut Notebook restaurant. We ordered one of the set menu lunch experience and it was fantastic. The presentation, aroma, and tastes of the chefs choices were perfect and nothing could have been better. If you enjoy Indian food and flavors, you will appreciate this restaurant because the chef really takes it to the next level for fine dining.
Overall an unforgettable experience . Highly recommend it. 10/10 service.

Flavourful land tender chicken pieces in their biriyani. Very good portion too. Fish pollichathu was good with taste. I wish i could had more time to enjoy the food but it was super busy on weekend and i had to finish it quick considering the other hungry tummies waiting outside. Must to visit them when you are here in Abu dhabi

Their porotta is very soft and bit crispy which makes it perfect to eat with Allepey chicken curry which is delicious.. Their chicken biriyani is just okay..

I'm quite a regular customer at Calicut notebook, they serve amazing dishes which only uses quality ingredients and so I'm always very sure about the food safety here. Today I visited the place for their Onam Sadya , the traditional south Indian meal served on banana leaf with over 27 dishes with 2 different payasams. There was a huge crowd comprised of not only keralites but also people from various other places who were there to rather experience the Sadya as a whole. The dishes were lovely especially the mango and pineapple pulissery which I liked the most. Even with such a huge crowd and a huge line of people the crowd management was done well and there was no compromise in service at all. All servers were courteous, professional and friendly . Over all a wonderful experience yet again, will definitely continue eating from there :)
Had food couple of times from the place. Service and food preparation are top notch. One of the best restaurants for Kerala food in AUH. Menu choice is good.

One of my favorite restaurant , the staff are so polite and humble. Restaurant Manager Mr. Subin is very good . Also the boy who served us Jibin is so polite and humble and he has always very good smile in face . I really recommend Calicut Note Book
We were pleasantly surprised by the street food stall they had outside the restaurant. We had pickled pineapple, mango and gooseberry!! Yummy! Then for starters, it was crispy spinach, it was very good. Main course was fish mango curry, fried hammour and dhaal. Parotta was perfect made. Overall good experience
Ordered biryani from here and it was very good! Tasted just like the malabar kerala biriyani. They also gave pappad, green chutney and dates pickle and mango pickle! It was really yum!
When you really crave kerala food and eating from a banana leaf like one would do back home, then calicut notebook is a place that won't disappoint your cravings.
We ordered veg meals along with prawns tawa fry, unfortunately we were too hungry to click a Pic of the prawns. Nevertheless everything was really good and served warm. It was absolutely delicious.
The place is huge and has a good seating capacity but still on Friday afternoons the waiting time for a table is about 5 to 7mins. But the food is so good that it's worth the wait. Special mention must be given to the Staff who is so good at waiting the tables even when it's fully packed.
First place I think of when I want to eat traditional Kerala meals....never disappointed....their biryani is also real good..my fav is the prawn tawa fry
One hungry afternoon, A random order based on the rating they had = Must say worth every penny!
Tried the following:
- Chicken Varathiyath 4/5. I was sceptical how it would taste but turned out pretty good when paired with Malabar Parathas.
- Fish Fillet Kanthari Tawa 4.5/5. I am a huge fan of grilled and pan fried fish and it was really good with the spices as described and super soft as fish should be.
- Chilli Chicken 4.5/5. Like I said random order but it tasted so good with Malabar parathas for some reason! It was different and not the soy sauce typical version of Chinese chilli chicken you expect your way. Listed as one of their best sellers I gave it a try.
Bonus? They also delivered before the estimated time which was great. And they have option to order half and full plate which is a amazing & not many restos have it. Definitely going to try more stuff soon.

Hammoor Kanthari Tawa was awesome. It was very tasty and worth to try. We have ordered Hammoor fish fillet kanthari Tawa as a starter. The ambience and quality of food is really good.

Awesome as usual. One Mr Subin was very courteous and took care of the order menu for us. Delivery and in house dining hasn't disappointed me at all.
I have been there for vishu sadhya with my brother, food taste was good but not worth for 35 aed for sure and the service was not up to the expected level, the centre of attraction is the side dishes, unfortunately they were not able to serve all the dishes to us, i had to call them for it. Hope they will improve next time.
after having shopping we decided to dine here with my friend. We ordered dal palak, paneer makhani and mixed fried rice it was bit late as maybe they were little bit busy but well its worth the wait. I love the dal palak with paratha. must try with My hubby. 😊
You need to visit this place in order to enjoy some of the best south indian seafood dishes. The masala used here is amazing which in turn makes every dish mind blowing.
This place is great! Everything from the food to the service to the traditions. We have been here 10-15 times and since we are not originally from here, the servers takes it upon themselves to always explain to us each and every dish. From the spice to the base of their curries and the flavours. We have tried plenty of their dishes and each and every one of them is delicious and unique in it’s own way. The fish mango curry is to die for! The fried chicken, allepy chicken curry and malabari chicken curry are delicious as well! Surprisingly their chili chicken (chinese) is one of the best hands down in Abu Dhabi. The only thing that I din’t like was their beef strips ( in the starters) that we tried when we came for the first time. Rest all, wonderful!
Top notch kerala restaurant in Abu Dhabi with authentic kerala dishes. We were a team of about 30 people from different nationalities. Calicut Notebook designed a special menu for us and everyone enjoyed the food. I would like to specially thank Subin who took care of all our needs and assisted us very well. This is a malabari restaurant with good food. We ordered the fish thali which was really good, there were varieties of fish curry available and also veg .. each one of them were really good. The tawa fry we ordered was mouthwatering and so worth it. This was the perfect weekend lunch we had ❤️🔥
Not my first time. Have tried both lunch and dinner previously. Biriyani's are typical malabar style and tasty. Fish tawa and prawn biriyani (AED 40) were on the expensive side. All gravies are nice and tasty. The desserts - oreo pudding, tender coconut were not refreshing. Overall a good tummy treat.
