Dine in here twice for Ifthar and I will still come back. The variety is huge and the quality is really good. I love that they served more asian dishes aside from traditional Ifthar menu. The sweets counter is also huge and really good. I requested for their menu and offer for 2019 Ifthar for our group and the menu is still good...we did not confirmed our booking but its only because we choose to try new restaurants every year.

Such a Beautiful brunch experience. So much to do for kids, from bouncy castle, there own buffet section, an indoor petting room, clown, and a separate room for crafts.
What more do you want when the kids are super happy
They have a humongous variety of food from Italian, Indian, yummy sushi.
Everything in one place.

Service was excellent from all staff and the live music very entertaining. Here is the story. We’ve been invited to the brunch by our close friends who’ve been living in Dubai for 10 years. I know Dubai well, but i never had a chance to visit Movenpick Ibn Battuta. What can i say? Friday brunch program was exceptionally good. Food is a festival of tastes, big time! So much seafood and it was so fresh. Stake was A-okey, other things were delicious as well. Ambiance is good, highest ceilings we’ve seen in Emirates. Highly recommend, very family place!

Al Bahou is the perfect mass gathering venue located at Movenpick at IBN Batutta. The venue is in the middle of the hotel, in what is a massive open area which creates the feeling of luxury and royalty. The location itself seats about 300 people and they are spread from one end of the hotel to another basically. I thought this was nice because it gave you the feeling of dining amongst hundreds of people (which you were), while maintaining privacy at your own table. The tables were spaced far enough to give you privacy while close enough to others to feel that you and your guest(s) are not dining alone. I really liked the way this was setup.

Had been to Al Bahou Ibn Battuta for Iftar , starting with the seating and environment it is really great and very well decorated and organized , the food was a lot and many choices , no queues and everyone had the chance to have a full buffet experience , I liked the grilled kofta and sheesh tawook , also the rest of dishes were good .
Desserts were just enough for Iftar , Kunafa with cheese was great , also the fruits and drinks .

While the most enjoyment came from Michael he took very good care of our table and kids and made sure we are happy and enjoying the meal , thanks for the great hospitality Michael .

I liked the ouzy and the beef ribs .. the salads and starters were of less variety but acceptable however there were few desserts options and it lacked taste it wasn’t attempting... the service is good especially Mr.Clyde who was very friendly and helpful ... overall experience is satisfactory and nice might repeat it again

Welcome the arrival of Ramadan by celebrating the descent of the sun amidst the perfect backdrop of Al Bahou’s stunning 88 Arabic lanterns in the Movenpick Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel. It has luxury accommodations, fine dining restaurants and business facilities. My Iftar at the Movenpick Hotel was equally mesmerizing, just as the hotel. This place has a rooftop pool, and complimentary access to Palm Jumeirah with shuttle service as well. It is royal yet modern. There is a gym and spa available too, for all guests coming in. The Iftar had tastes from all around the world.

Visited for iftar. First time back after a few years but it's still one of my favourite iftars in Dubai. Such a calm and relaxing ambiance with dim lighting, pleasant oud music and delicious food, though the dessert selection was less extensive than it was 3 years ago!

Its the second week of Ramadan and I am almost attending Iftar every day. While some of the  Iftars were forgettable, there were  few of them that really stood out. Yesterday’s Iftar at Al Bahou was truly memorable. Al Bahou is located in the Lobby Level of majestic Movenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate that is adjacent to Ibn Battuta Mall in Jebel Ali Village.

If you're going for brunches for the food, this is likely one of the best options in Dubai. Quality food coming out of 5 different restaurants. Delicious food, the drinks weren't bad and also has a good overall vibe and lots of options for the kids. Will definitely visit again.

Al Bahou is set up in the lobby of the beautiful Movenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate every Friday for brunch. It seems to be very popular among families with kids as there is a bouncy castle and play area which keeps them entertained.

The spread is no doubt extensive, (English, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Arabic, Seafood, etc.) and I must say that  most items are just run of the mill variety, nothing special. Although, everything I tasted was wonderfully prepared. But on closer inspection there is not much choice of mains. I just filled myself on the appetizers.

Very disappointed with the Pan Asian section, there were no Thai curry or Chinese mains. Indian section had 2 choices of daals, some other vegetarian dishes and the ubiquitous Butter chicken (which I simply dislike). Italian had the usual pasta, pizza.  Same with the Arabic section, same old sharwerma, falafel, hummus, moutabel etc. It would serve them better if they made some signature dishes which would make people come back to enjoy. We have dined at their other restaurant Minstrel for dinner and found that to be a lovely experience.

I must make a special mention of the Wasabi shrimp (they were just amazing - but portion size should be increased as there was just 1 shrimp per serving) and walnut pie was simply amazing!

With the response they are getting for this brunch, they need a bigger venue as the tables were very close to each other.

Overall, pleasant experience but nothing outstanding.

Staff: 5/5 - they are very cordial and helpful.
Ambiance - 4/5 - bit noisy and crowded
Food - 3.5/5
Decor - lovely with those 100 Arabic lanterns

I simply love the moroccon decor of Movenpik Gate hotel,
It had to be visited for Iftaar, we knew it very well.
The spread was decent and I loved the jallab, tamarind and the drinks,
I knew what I wanted because while entering i had got a glimpse.
The fresh mince lamb saj and shawarma were perfect,
But the kababs were bland, didn't taste fresh as a matter of fact.
Main courses were decent, nothing to shout about.
The desserts were interesting, a second helping was needed without a doubt.

I've had my fair share of brunches in and out of Dubai, but this one was BY FAR the best one!

I have my best friend from the UK visiting me and yesterday I wanted to show her what brunches are over here - i couldn't have picked a better restaurant. I had an amazing experience in Shanghai Chic in Movenpick so I was hoping al Bahou would be the same. It was even better!

They greet you with a glass of bubbly and show you around the multitude of food stations, then seat you at your table and introduce your designanted waiters, who will bring one more glass of bubbly.

I've been to very fancy places for brunch and sometimes when you ask for a second glass of wine, the waiters give you a death stare, as if they have to make the wine on the spot with the grapes from their father's vineyard. Well the entire staff yesterday was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive, replenished the drinks, were well informed on their menu and did not stop smiling for a second, even though the restaurant was packed! (I booked the last available table, it was all full)

I could see what a great place it is for families also - staff in cartoons characters costumes receive them at the door, greet them with a gass of orange juice (in the same fancy glasses that mommy will have her champage in, so they feel like they're "big people") and then they will take them to their play areas while parents enjoy their brunch with no need to worry.

The only thing i can complain about is the face that the food was TOO delicious and I could not stop eating, I simply wanted to try everything. Even if you have a single tiny bite of everything on display, you will still get full - there is just so much choice and everything looks and tastes divine!

What I loved the most was the beef roast, it simply melts in your mouth, I've never had more delicious beef than that.

The alcoholic package has plenty of options but we didn't want to mix everything and feel nauseous, so we stuck to margaritas and the peach&vodka cocktail. They were simply amazing, so refreshing and with just enough alcohol to brighten your day, if the food hasn't blown you away already

My compliments to the chefs, waiters, supervisors and Mr Baker for such amazing restaurants in the Ibn Battuta Gate.

LOOK NO FURTHER if you want to be impressed by a brunch!

I wish I could give it 10 stars!

*Pictures are clicked by Chandru, the official photographer of ‘Ramadan 2016- 3o days, 30 reviews’ feature*. As soon as we entered, we were in love with the theme, from the stunning and magical 88 Arabic lanterns to the beautiful colour combinations and palm trees! There are over 7 stations with many varieties and for each, the presentation is carefully done. It is absolutely a treat for the eyes as for the beautiful ambiance and great services as well.

Visited Al Bahou for its Iftar buffet on Saturday evening with the family and it was a pleasant experience. Arriving at 7pm, the queue for entering the restaurant took some time but once in, we were quickly seated with a smile and ready to eat, so the food variety was great, predominately Arabic cuisine with additions of foods from other parts of the world (Indian, sushi, etc) main meats were chicken and beef (grill) and the made to order maneesh was definitely a first for me at buffets. You had variety of salads, vegetables and rice dishes addition to the aforementioned dishes. The overall setting was good and waiter service was attentive, we never had to queue for the food but then then they never were at full capacity.

Any gripes: a few...the juices were poor, especially the orange juice, the apple juice was not far off. The fizzy drinks were ok for watered down versions.

The layout of the food was strange, mains were at either side of the room with the starters and desserts in the middle, nothing too drastic but something management may want to reconsider.

If your a big lamb eater then this maybe not for you (no lamb chops for example and the chicken taouk was not the best I've had but the sheesh kebab was fantastic

Priced at 170aed it's definitely in the upper range for its offering, comparing it to Accents at Intercontinental (marina) which is at 165 and offers fresh drinks and array of meats, sea food and fresh pizza.

If you had to choose one, then it's simple. If you want predominately Arabic food then go to Al Bahou, if you don't care and just want a variety and fresh juices then go to Accents.

What a splendid iftaar set up in Al Bahou, Ibn Batuttua Gate Movenpick Hotel. When you walk in you're transported into an Arabic inspired environment full of so many buffet stations that it's impossible to try them all.
Most successful for us were the manaeesh stations, where you could choose your fillings and have a hot manaeesh prepared in front of you and then slid onto you plate, ready to be eaten. From Sushi, to Thai curries, Biryani, Arabic delicacies and European grills, I think Al Bahou has covered it all, desserts being my favourite of course. There was again such a variety and I didn't know what to choose from. Delicious orange blossom flavoured rice pudding, cheesy kunafa goodness, pastures, the quintessential Turkish delight wheel, a 'canon' of sahlap to drink, rich Umm Ali and loads more. We rounded it all of with some soothing Moroccan tea, leaving happily satisfied.

Just around the corner from my house, have been to the Movenpick quite a few time times, but never really tried this place. Decided to go out for an Iftar at Al Bahou, but I guess being a vegetarian at an Iftar is kind of being a giant whale in a big swimming pool. Except for the salads and the fruits, only thing vegetarian was the Aloo Mutter sabzee, if that's anything to go by, the food tasted great. Did hear good stuff about the rest of the food items on the menu from the accompanying friends.

What wowed me though, was the decor and the ambience of the place. Extremely enticing decor and decent service, considering it was just a buffet.

Would help a lot of there are more options for vegetarians. Non-Vegetarians should try the lavish Iftar spread once.

Let me start off by saying that this brunch is the best family brunch that we have been to! There is an incredible variety of quality food, it’s so kid-friendly, and the setting is beautiful. If there is one brunch that you have go to with your whole family, this is definitely it! We made our way to Moevenpick Ibn Battuta, which is always a delight to go to because its absolutely beautiful.

The Al Bahou brunch is held in one wing of the large lobby area. We went up to the brunch’s reception and gave them my name, they handed us welcome drinks and we walked over to our table. The waitress showed us around the brunch buffet, which is actually a lot more than what I had initially expected.

The whole hall had various carts placed around it, and each cart was specific to a cuisine. Along with these carts, there was also an entire room just for dessert! Yes, you read it right. And if that’s not reason enough to go, theres even a whole other room just for cheese! There is another separated room for Italian cuisine, with a woodfire oven for any type of pizza you want. In the middle of the hall there was a live band, and a huge area meant as a kids play place.

After showing us all of the different kinds of foods, she showed us the kid’s play area, which is in plain sight, so it’s really convenient for parents. I would highly suggest that you book a seat near there if you’ve got kids. The kid’s play area has a full-on bouncy house as well as a more toddler friendly padded play area quipped with little rocking horses and a couple of play houses and toys. And if that’s not enough to keep your little ones busy, there’s even a whole other room filled with a kid’s buffet (which was not just your typical chicken nuggets and fries– they had really good looking mini sliders which I would have happily eaten), and a theater! The best part is, all of the kids areas are fully staffed with adult supervision so if your kids are big enough to walk and talk, you can give yourself enjoy yourself without having to chase after them too much.

We took our seats, away from the kids area and closer to the entrance of the restaurant since my baby Khalifa was fast asleep during brunch, which is a treat for me and my husband because that rarely happens, but I wish he would have been awake since there was so much for him to enjoy. After ordering our drinks of watermelon juice, we went around to grab our food. A lot of 5-star hotel brunches may look like they have a vast variety of food, but the quality doesn’t always match up to what you see. This was not the case at this brunch. Every single dish had so much love in it. The flavors were absolutely spot on. I should really give credit to the chefs at Moevenpick Ibn Battuta’s restaurants because they definitely brought their A-game to showcase their flavors at this brunch. If you want to try all of the different cuisines (and more) that are available at this hotel, without having to individually go to each restaurant, then this is the time and place!

Each cart has its own selection of starters and mains, and its not just one or two things– its a really good variety! Although there is a whole cart just for starters and salads, as well as a separate cart just for breads, I didn’t want to fill up on them so I started off at the very first cart, which was the Indian cart. I’ve been to the hotel’s Indian restaurant, Chor Bazaar , so I knew how great the food is there, and definitely had to sample it again. There was a make-your-own puri bar station, incredibly juicy chicken tikka and even vegetarian curries.

After that, I went around a few of the other carts that had seafood, sushi, tartar, and several unique amuse-bouche type starters. Everything from these carts were packed with flavor!

Then I headed towards the other cuisines; the Arabic one was filled with traditional Arabic starters like mouttabel and sambousek, and there were also traditional Emirati rice dishes, and several other meaty mains. Along with that, there was even a shawarma station!

Next to that, there was an Asian station, which had things like wasabi mango shrimp, roasted duck, tempura-battered veggies and so many more delicious Asian treats.

There was also a whole other cart meant for Western mains, including Yorkshire pudding, many different kinds of gravy, a baked turkey, beef wellington, mashed potatoes and anything else you could imagine that would be fit for a Sunday Roast.

After filling myself up on all of these oh-so-scrumptious dishes, I ordered a cup of green tea before heading over to the room of desserts. This is when I spotted the cheese room, which is a haven for cheese lovers. There are so many different kinds and I haven’t seen any other brunch that displays this much of a variety of cheeses.

Now for the desserts– just looking at this room can make you diabetic, there are so many desserts all over the room. You know what, I would come back to this brunch just for these desserts! There were specially made rich chocolates, a huge variety of cupcakes, every kind of mousse you can imagine, all different kinds of cakes and cheesecakes, different kinds of eclairs, puddings, tarts, several different kinds of Arabic desserts like Umm Ali and muhallabia, and even candies for the little ones! Luckily there’s also a pastry chef standing there, who can explain what the different desserts are made of and help you make your choices.

After dessert, my husband had to head out to Abu Dhabi for a quick meeting, so I stayed back with Khalifa and waited for Sleeping Beauty to wake up so he could play in the play area. Too bad he woke up only half an hour before the brunch was over, and he’s a little bit of a crank when he first wakes up, so he didn’t really get to make the most of the kids buffet or the play area, but we will definitely be back here, so he can enjoy it.

Its a shame we came at 2pm thinking that it was just another brunch– I highly suggest you take advantage of this brunch from the moment it opens until it finishes. This is one of those brunches that you come to as soon as it starts and then leave when they’re wrapping up. Like I said, its the best family brunch in Dubai. Hands down. Go!

The Friday brunch at Al Bahou, Moevenpick Ibn Battuta is from 12.30pm until 4pm. It costs 295 Dhs without alcohol, 395 Dhs with wine and 495 Dhs with champagne.

Wow. Iftar on an Arabic theme and gave to say that being a food critic I was impressed. The 88 lantern hall was brilliant and so was the food. Almost everything on an Arabic kitchen was on display and boy it was good. They had limited items from other cuisines but overall brilliant food. The crowd on tables was probably a testimony of the food.

Everything you would expect a Friday brunch to be; a plethora of choices and something for everyone in the family. The biryani was excellent as well as the other dishes we tried, duck rolls, beef roast, Yorkshire pudding, curries, eggs Benedict... You would think between the five of us we would have sampled everything but we just didn't seems to get to all the choices. It was quite busy but not to the point where their are queues and lines as the food stations.

Friday brunch here is a great place for families. A fabulous mixture of children's and grown up food, and lots of activities for fidgety kids to go and do.
The service was sadly rather slow with drinks but the staff helping with the activities such as the small bouncy castle were lovely.
It is a strange atmosphere, being in such a cavernous space but was so much fun with a large chatty group of mixed ages.
Everything seemed to end quite quickly, so explore the many different side rooms early on and order drinks promptly.
