I fell in love with Eat Greek! From the moment I walked in, I just knew that this is going to be one hell of an amazing lunch, and low and behold, it was indeed an amazing lunch!
The interiors are stunning, it was as though I stepped outside of the mall and entered Greece! What I loved most about the interiors was that it was effortless beauty. They were not shoving "GREECE" in your face, but little elements around the restaurant were beautifully merged into a stunning interior space, and I for one really appreciate it. So for interiors, I say A+.
And the high scores kept rolling because their service was just as impeccable! Our server was friendly, attentive and helpful; everything you would hope for in a server! She was able to answer every question I had, even the silly "would I enjoy this meal" questions. As much of a complicated customer I was, she remained professional and helpful, and I truly applaud her for that!
She suggested a few of my dishes, and my oh my, she hit the nail on the head with her recommendations!
We first started with the traditional Greek mezzas. For the cold mezza, we had the Tzatziki, which is a greek yogurt mixed in with cucumber, garlic & fresh herbs. This, alongside the fresh hot bread they brought along with it was a true testament to just how delicious yet simple Greek food is! What a great way to start off my lunch!
As for the hot appetizer, we were recommended the Baked Feta Cheese. If you're a fan of feta cheese in general, this is basically the king of all Feta Cheeses! The baked cheese oozed when cutting into it. Accompanied with tomato, pepper and olive oil; this is made for every cheese lover out there!
We then had the Octopus with Eggplant Mousse. I've had many octopus dishes in and around Dubai, and most of the time they end up disappointing me because they would be either too bland, and most commonly, too chewy! But the Octopus at Eat Greek was grilled to perfection! It had just the right amount of chewiness to it, and just the right amount of seasoning! I loved every bite of it! And I do have to mention that the plating itself was a piece of art!
I couldnt go to a Greek restaurant and not order a Greek salad! That's just unheard of!
So ofcorse, I ordered the Eat Greek Salad, which consisted of tomatoes, cucumber, olives, onion, capsicum, feta cheese, fresh oregano and olive oil. It was filling yet light, had a lot of ingredients but still felt airy and refreshing! It was honestly the perfect salad; I would not have changed a thing!
After wiping each dish clean, it was hard but too delicious to leave behind, we started with our main courses. We first had the Jumbo Prawns Saganaki. This dish is definitely an acquired taste. It's prawns were undoubtably delicious, but the red-sauce elbow macaroni was not something I personally enjoyed very much. But like I said, it is an authentic Greek dish and thus, may not please every diner.
My second main course, on the other hand, was something I fell head over heals for! The Beef Kontosouvli is to die for! Literally! If you are a fan of steak, you need to try how the Greek make their steak! And let me tell you, they won't disappoint! Definitly the standout of the experience!
We also had the Catch of The Day, which was a full stunning sea bass. It was beautifully grilled with lemon oil, served with couscous salad. Being a big seafood fan in general, I enjoyed the simplicity of this dish. They did not add too many ingredients to try to make this dish "modern" like many other restaurants do, they simply stuck to the basics and brought me a deliciously grilled fish! I got to enjoy the taste of the actual fish meat, rather than the overload of seasoning and spices.
For desserts, our wonderful server recommended that we order the Galaktoboureko, which is an authentic Greek dessert. It is basically a vanilla scented milk custard pie, and it was the perfect way to end the amazing lunch! It was light yet flavorful, felt unique yet not too unique. This Galaktoboureko alongside some tea would be, at least to me, perfect!
Overall, I loved Eat Greek very much! They honestly exceeded my expectations by a landslide! I didn't expect to enjoy this cuisine so much, but thanks to Eat Greek, I now know that I am a huge fan of Greek food! And I'd bet that you would be too, after trying this place!
