A Portuguese restaurant with a beautiful setting. It has a lovely seating area overlooking the sea. We visited for drinks and dinner. The waiter was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and the service was great. For starters, we got the tuna tartare, that comes in ice cream cones, the tempura avocado, its small bites of avocado fried with a delicious sauce to dip. For the mains, yes we had two risotto platters and they were both full of flavor. The first one was the lobster risotto, with prawns and the second was a creamy tender veal risotto topped with parmesan cheese. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend it for any date night or a cozy catch up with friends.

The rare Dinner escape with the wife. Had to be special and it was. The setting is really good overlooking the sea and the pool. Fortunately the weather was nice to sit outside.
We started with tempura avocado and beetroot salad- both were tasty with crunch and softness. The dressing on the salad was yummy. Garlic prawns were fresh and the clams were great. Soaked up the gravy with bread.
Mains was blue lobster and prawn rice. This was a bit disappointing. Not enough seafood and the rice was too saucy.
The beef tenderloin steak was wow. Tender and tasty. And the quail eggs. Perfect! Runny yolk and set whites. Sign of good chef. 😁
Definitely going back as the service was prompt and engaging.

The seating on the terrace was lovely, the atmosphere was really nice and pleasant so was the staff!
The wines are from Portugal and without being stunning, it was so pleasant to have a decent red compared to the cheap new world wines too many places are serving.
The downside: the food. After a great start (small cod and potato tempura and a wagyu roll) the rest did lack of originality nor tastes particularly (meat and fish). We asked several times for a bit more clams, we never received them. The broccolis were stunning and overall, it lacked of variety. I would have loved to see more small bites and more vegetarian dishes too.
In summary: bit disappointed by the food, Price/value is decent and we had a very good time. 3.5/5
Tasca is a beautiful portuguese restaurant in the 5* Mandarin Oriental on Jumeirah. Its staff are friendly and cheerful and the food is absolutely delicious. We went there for dinner, they also host lunches and brunches and they have different menus for those. The restaurant practices a sharing concept which makes it ideal if you want to try all the dishes on the table. We started with the algarve prawns ceviche and tempura avocado, garlic prawns, blue lobster and prawn rice, and piri piri chicken. The latter three left such an impression that i cant wait to go back there again. Quite affordable prices for the fine-dining experience they provide. We dont usually oreder dessert, but we were celebrating a birthday, we tried their olive oil and honey pudding as well the pastel the Nata, I preferred the latter for it's combination of berries and light base and cream.
I love the ambience of this place as well as the service. Our waiter was very helpful and made some good recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the blue lobster with rice! The dessert was nothing special but the main course and appetizers shone.
Came here for a bday. The ambience was super. The appetisers were tiny but the main dishes were big enough to feed the table. It’s a bit pricey but the flavours were great.
Great setting, buzzing ambiance and good food. Be sure to check this place out in the winter, the Mandarin Oriental terrace will not disappoint you. Standout dishes were: avocado tempura, prawn ceviche, cured seabass, garlic prawns, lobster & rice, lamb shank and the hazelnut dessert. Still waiting for a restaurant to nail Octopus. Don’t bother with the other 2 desserts.
Great Portuguese food, from a very well known chef in Portugal. Some similar dishes from cafe do teatro, and cantinho do Avilez in Lisbon. Good taste from home. The place is beautiful and the service was great. The luppins humus was delicious
Not many Portuguese restaurants here in Dubai but I finally found a very good place to dine! We tried a range of starters but the tempura avocado stood out along with the garlic prawns.
And for the mains don’t leave without eating the blue lobster & prawn rice! Perfect flavors and enjoyed it completely.
The only disappointment of the night was the dessert but everything else including the service and ambience was great that I can just about over look the dessert. I look forward to coming back!

I had a lovely birthday dinner surprise for my friend.
The concept of the restaurant is sharing so, the food was more like Tapas. We had a complimentary hummus and bread for starter.
We ordered octopus, roasted eggplant, sweet potato, crispy avocado, and chicken strip.
For the dessert we had chocolate cone that tasted amazing, and honey pudding which I was not a fan of.
We also had the birthday cake which was chocolate mousse with a jam.
Everything was amazing from the view to the service to the food quality.
Definitely coming again.
We were a dinner group of 10 people who are all discerning food lovers. We were definitely not disappointed with the food ! The wagyu tartare is some of the best we have ever tasted in Dubai. Also really good is the veal risotto and a quite unforgettable dessert is the Mandarin orange sorbet.
The view over the roof deck pool and the ocean is spectacular. The 4* rating would definitely become a 5* if it was not for the service. Some guests had to wait for their food while the rest of us were already halfway through our course and I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that drinks order took quite long. I would also recommend that the staff really get to know the wonderful menu and can advise enthusiastically about the courses. The difference between starter and sharing courses needs to be explained better. Despite the service, the good food and ambiance will have us back there in no time!
Come for the food not for the service. The pica pau and the mandarin tangerine are amazing. We order the drinks.. starters.. and the main food, starters came and the same time has the food.... Drinks came 30 mim after the food... The service is bad which is sad since the food is really good

Overall good food. Service was great. Portion size small so don’t come to hungry. Good atmosphere and I’d come back. Had lots of different dishes. Like the lobster rice and would recommend it.

Good atmosphere and decor, staff very welcoming and caring. Food with nice presentation, good portions and with a “taste of Portugal”.
Favorite dishes : “bolhao de pato “clams and prawn and lobster rice.
Advice: there’s a space for improvement in the white sangria (very juicy) & you could put a pot with cutlery in the table to avoid bringing cutlery with every plate, as waste in my opinion.
A part from that I totally recommend !

Brilliant food and ambiance at this new restaurant of the accomplishes Portuguese Chef Jose Avilez in Dubai. The menu is inspired by traditional Portuguese ingredients and dishes but with a twist and the food is perfectly cooked and served with style and flavour. The views and the service was great, we were elegantly served by Andre Silva who made our experience very pleasant. We had a variety of dishes including octopus tempura, prawn rice, grilled sea bass, tuna tartar and tuna salad accompanied by some delicious cocktails. The prices are reasonable given the whole package. Highly recommend.

As a person with Portuguese parents and raised in Portuguese food I was excited to dine here. The service and ambiance was great. Friendly staff.
The food was flavored really well with the flavors I remember growing up.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the quality of the Wagyu beef. For a supposedly 4/5 grade. It was not tender at all.

I really enjoyed my time at Tasca. The view from the terrace is great, the decor and the whole ambiance is really nice as well. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. It was an absolutely amazing experience! The brunch was SO tasty. Flavors are so thoughtful and intentional. a treat to the tastebuds! The staff were friendly and warm. We had the pleasure of being served by Marco who is an absolute gem. So bubbly, fun and professional. The view was stunning as well! Definitely worth every penny and more.
This Restaurant is a must try at the Mandarin Oriental! Bursting with Portuguese flavours from Chef Jose Avillez. The Restaurant is right by the infinity pool with amazing views of Jumeirah Beach. Piri Piri Chicken was full of spicy goodness, if you happen to like spice. I absolutely 100% recommend. If the weather is cool, have a seat outside on the deck, the views are breathtaking.
