This is the best place to chillax and enjoy the view of Burj Khalifa and the dancing fountain. Their beef ribs is to die for. This is a great place to celebrate birthdays as the staff takes effort in playing drums and sing and dance to waka waka. We love it here!
Delicious prime rib with sweet potatoe fries. So filling there was no room for desert. The walnut bread they give out was also amazing and a very large portion! Prime rib was perfectly cooked. Recommend this for carnivorous people :)

The place to go for a juicy stake in a colorful African inspired atmosphere. Stakes and burgers are delicious and very reasonably priced. When the weather is good, the outdoor terrace offers great views of the fountains. Staff is very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Tribes is one of the finest African restaurant. It was the first time I tried it and it was amazing. The bread which they served as a complimentary, it was soo tasteful. Also the best thing about this place is the stunning view of dubai mall and Burj Khalifa. You can enjoy the fountain show from there terrace. Also would highly recommend to try their North African chicken burger. I truly loved the experience and for sure will dine in again soon.

Tried Tribes at Dubai Mall as we were starving during our long walk in the Dubai Mall. We ordered the beef short ribs and crunchy prawn and avocado. The beef ribs are so juicy and delicious. Both the dishes tasted really good. The service in the restaurant is also good.
Starting with the restaurant manager getting us a table with a splendid view of the fountain followed by the pretty Lydia suggesting the best speared chicken and Kenyan tea with mint. This restaurant experience was one of the best and worth the money.

Yesterday was a special day, we decided to give it a try to eat at Tribes, and we did not regret the whole experience. The food was deliciously awesome. The staffs are very friendly and entertaining, especially John.
We ordered the African Lamb Spring Rolls, Fully Loaded Beef Burger and Cape Malay Fish Curry.
The funny thing was, the best item we enjoyed was not on the menu but their complimentary bread. An African bread which is made from dates and walnuts.
It was our first time to taste a unique but delicious freshly baked date bread perfectly combined with butter. Shout out to their generous manager who made sure that John gave us another piece of bread as a takeaway (you both made us happy!)

Words can't describe how awesome the food at this place is, absolutely delicious, flawless, mouth-watering, the staff are also wonderful, entertaining, friendly, with a smile on their face at all times.
Allow me to also say that the view of the fountains from their terrace is breathtaking, eventhough we sat indoors, we came outside for seeing the show.
There was also a birthday celebration on a table near ours and the staff put on an African version of the Bday song with drums and dances which was fantastic.
We ordered a feast, spring rolls, fried calamari, traditional drinks, the rainbow salad, ribs, the melting flava cake and the king of the whole meal : The Oxtail (OMG), what a delicacy! It is a must-try, one of a kind dinning experience in Dubai honestly speaking.
Even the cappuccino we had at last had something unique, tasty, I can't wait to go again and again, one of those places you can't get enough of.
South African flavors and matching ambience. It was a wonderful experience to dine. Staff is extremely courteous and very happy to serve. We had Bunny Chow and Cape Malay Fish Curry. Both dishes were well prepared and oozing with flavors. Kids had steak and burger and were happy to enjoy ice cream as part of their combo meal.
Thoroughly enjoyed the live performance of the staff, singing Hakuna Matata 😄
One of my new favorites spots for having some juicy steak and ribs. The restaurant has a very good theme to it and the staff was very welcoming. The food was just amazing. Will surely be back here the next time I’m in town. Worth the price.

We tired tribes for the first time . We ordered 2 kids meals, vinesion steak and peri peri prawns. The meals we amazing. However, what we enjoyed the most was the very welcoming and professional behavior and service provided by the staff especially Allen.

Frequent visitor at both locations and for good reasons. Excellent food, value for money and best of all some of the best best and friendliest service and always with a smile (a rarity in Dubai and across all price points). Excellent calamari for appetizer and some of the best South African fillets in town and a an excellent Malay Fish Curry. Highly recommended and keep up the excellent work! Great outdoor seating on the 2nd floor in Dubai Mall facing the fountains and views weather permitting.

This place is simply awesome, brings you the delight of African cuisines to your table. The beef ribs were well cooked and simply delicious , and ordered a chicken grill which was mightly , another think to note was no fries served up instead it was served with fried drumstick, which was something unique.

Tried this African restaurant recently and i liked their burgers it tastes good and the meat/chicken is fresh. Also ordered their mocktails (African sunset and tribes special )and the mix is amazing. The African vibes was cool. Its a bit expensive but with view of burj khalifa and dubai fountain you would love to try
This place serves South Africa quality steaks juicy and tasty I tried the venison steak which was very good! The waiters are funny as well also very friendly and this restaurant has a outside burj khalifa view which is relaxing!

We have a late lunch here on Friday. Couldn't sit outside as they open the area only at 5pm. Such a shame. But sharp it was opened and the seating was completely full !

We dropped into celebrate a friend’s daughter’s birthday. We were lucky to get a table outside with an amazing view of the Dubai fountain and the Burj Khalifa.
The waiter introduced himself and shared the menus. They had a wide variety of traditional African dishes with a juicy selection of steaks, ribs and other kinds of meat.
We ordered the Moroccan chicken and capsicum salad for appetizers. The chicken was juicy and the salad was fresh. Overall quite filling and delicious.
For main course we went with the Bunny Chow. This is a refreshingly different kind of dish and a must try for anyone visiting the restaurant. The portion is generous and filling. We also had the Moroccan spiced chicken grilled breast fillet which was just about grilled to perfection. We also had the beef burger which was nice and juicy just the way I like it. The kids went for the chicken nuggets with French fries.
They also had some nice mojitos and mocktails which were also refreshing.
And let’s not forget the tribal dance and drums which added to the overall birthday experience.
Definitely a place to visit both for the food as well as for the view.

Tribes is nestled amongst the hustle bustle of Dubai Mall. Its remotely located, but once there, the warm African hospitality soon takes over. The Interiors of Tribes is casual and makes you feel at ease. Our friendly waiter took us through the menu and suggested some dishes which would be apt to suite our palate. While our priority was chicken,Unfortunately in starters there was no option available, which was a let down. So we skipped to the main dishes. I ordered myself a speared chicken and my better half opted for moroccan spiced chicken, both came with a side and we opted for sweet potato fries. For drinks we opted for Ginger fresh. While waiting for the order we were served a generous portion of warm bread which was quite delicious. Soon our order arrived. The Speared chicken had these tender pieces of chicken marinated in green herbs and grilled beautifully. The meat was quite tender and juicy and the marination had seeped in well to infuse in the flavors. The sweet potato fries which came along with it was crisp and golden brown. Loved it to the core. The moroccan grilled chicken was spiced up and we enjoyed it thoroughly with a passion fruit kicking Ginger fresh cocktail.Since the portion size was quite huge, we were too stuffed to order any desserts and were fortunate that there was no chicken option available in starters

Ribs, ribs, ribs!
I love ribs especially when the restaurant knows how to make it, oh and they know it very well in Tribes. The meat is just so soft end tender, it literally melts in your mouth. I have tried from oxtail to short ribs, burger to salad, anything they serve at Tribes is just great.
My all time favorite is the oxtail.
The bread and butter they serve as starter is great. I barely stop myself from gilling my stomach just with that and leaving no space for the main dish.
I’ve never been to tribes before and I wish I’ve been here before! The restaurant was empty for some reason, but we had a great experience!! The food was really good, the waitress was super sweet! Everyone in the restaurant was cheerful and helpful! I loved the iced tea! It had that bitter taste of tea that I love and it wasn’t THAT sweet. It was perfect! The beef spring rolls were good, even though I think the dipping sauce was slightly tasteless but that didn’t matter. The burgers were great! Will come back again for sure

Now for the food, we had the beef and mushroom burger, the char grilled chicken burger, the pepper roasted chicken sandwich and the beetroot&avocado salad. It was best chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life, the burgers were absolutely DIVINE and the salad was YUM.

When comes to food, we tried cheese burger, steak sandwich and home made ice tea. Ice tea was good but the food was average.
Prices are ok for burgers and sandwich but cannot say the same for platters.

A nice dine in restaurant with amazing dubai fountain view. Outside arrangement is a bit congested. Loved their mojito and bunny chow. Equitorian chicken grill is good dish but is overpriced with only 1 side option. The staff are cooperative n polite.
Such happy smiling faces - amazing electric atmosphere. My husband's birthday was celebrated with drums and a sing song session... so lovely. Restaurant is very well laid out.
On arrival a nice big loaf of bread comes to your table - very flavoursome bread and french butter.
We ordered the ginger fresh, brain wash and tribes special drinks - all unique in their own way - very innovative names. The best of the lot was ginger fresh.
For the mains, we ordered the African lamb spring roll - a close variance to the chinese spring roll, it had an amazing dip of i think fried onions and plums. The Ribs were just fall of the bone - the meat was such good quality, you could even see the freshness. We also ordered the Mix grill braai- i preferred the beef than the lamb. The presentation of all dishes are very unique
Prices are on the higher side, but you pay for ambiance, quality and over the top service.
What I'd go back for:
*wagyu blade (medium rare) - sumptuous and juicy. This is good for 2. Tender but not as tender as the Fillet.
*south Africa fillet (medium rare) - sumptuous, juicy (the meat has traces of sweetness in it) and really tender.
*Wagyu burger - scrumptious beef burger with a savory sauce
*Moroccan spiced grilled chicken fillet - well seasoned chicken with uniquely cooked okra
Plus the view outside is lovely! Emaar everywhere.

Avoid avoid!
Sent me someone else's order. After the Zomato team contacted them, they called me and apologised but said that the right order "had just arrived on their tablet".
They then said they will send me the right order and I should hand the driver the old wrong order. I'm curious why that is.
After waiting about 20 more minutes, they called again to tell me they are having a problem getting a driver from Zomato and they don't know what else to do.
They really seemed indifferent to this ordeal.
The only person who benefited from all of this is the driver as he got his tip!
UPDATE: The manager called me and was persistent in making up for the shortcomings. He is sincere, well spoken, and quite impressive really. The manager offered to send me my correct order for free whenever is convinient for me, or I could visit them at the restaurant. He has really changed my view regarding Tribes. This means that i will definitely try ordering from them again.

Perfect diner at @tribesdubai for a carnivore like me .. They are located in @thedubaimall and they offer an delicious African cuisine ! We’ve started this the hakuna matata platter (no worries, no problems) and I loved their lamb spring rolls & crumbles chicken lollipop ! To drink along we had their special tribe Potion to share 🍹 for the main we went for the fully loaded beef burger and the special Warrior platter and I understood why it’s named Warrior , it’s a long fight before finishing this amazing meat : cutlets, grilled chicken, bacon, beef rib.... but it absolutely worth it , I got a crush on the lamb cutlets 😍
And to finish we got the double chocolate smashed lamington a vanilla sponge cake with red berries to smash and mix with coconut ice cream 🥥

The steak is flavorful and the single serving is actually good for 2 people cause it’s really big and yummy. The view of the entire burj khalifa is a bonus if you choose to dine outside.
