Being an ex-restaurant owner I use to find out and visiting to north Indian reatuarants for authentic taste. Most of the time I am disappointed because no restaurant is serving authentic north Indian taste. Last week one of my friend recommend one north Indian reataurant called Chawlas2, which is based in JLT. When I listen the Chawlas name then its remind me the old days memories when I use to visit Chawlas restaurant in Delhi, then I got excited to find out this restaurant. I have visited to Chawla's reatuarant with family, fist their staff welcomed my family in a proper manner which feels me honored. When I start my order meanwhile their staff brings Papad with Green chutney and with north Indian famous “AAM ka Achar”[Mango Pickel] it was amazing crunchy roasted papad.
I would recommend to try their “Mutton Kaali Mirch”and "Butter Chicken" for kids because I have ordered both dishes and found the real north India taste. The best part was that, Mutton and Chicken was both properly tendered. In any dish chicken and mutton are the same but matter the of gravy and they are the best in their white and yellow gravies. I had the most amazing and deliciuos punjabi food ever in Dubai.
You have to try their 'Punjabi Lassi' in bevergaes and special "Desi Kheer" in deserts. . All in all a great experience coupled with great services!
I was lucky winner with Chawlas2UAE , Thank You so much , I really enjoyed every bite.
The food was great & So tasty. Staff were so helpful & fast. The place small & warm, so relaxing, great ambiance & something new.
They have great location with amazing view on the lack, so in winter outdoor setting will be the best choice.
If you are looking for Indian Restaurant, I recommend this to you, don't miss it.
Loved the food. Fish tikka and peshawri chicken tikka to start- both very tasty and moist. Keema naan was super fresh and tomato cream chicken with roomali roti was delicious. The Boondi raita was a cool treat to go with the spice. We will be back again very soon.
Nice simple tasty punjabi food, expected more spicy and masala stuff but found to be a bit bland, but still food is tasty.
authentic Punjabi food in the heart of Dubai... specially loved their breads made on the clay tandoor... totally recommended to anyone visiting Dubai and looking for tasty Indian food 😀
Excellent food and liked it. so aware abt the cream chicken n it is must eat at chawla's JLt which u dnt get here easily.
Authentic Chawlas... Finally in Dubai, loved the food, specially their signature dish Creamy Chicken and Paneer Adraki..... Simply awesome
Loved the food...ambience...A must try is the Cream Chicken dish & Mutton Rara!
Delicious authentic tasting Punjabi food. Best cream chicken ever ! And excellent vegan options too ...
Excellent food; I had takeaway and it was hot on arrival, tasted superb and was a reason to go back!
Lucky Dubai. Punjabi cuisine and others being brought to Dubai by the most genuine committed punjabi s I know.
Loved the paneer adraki... The spices were really unique bringing a new taste... definitely coming back for more... :-)
Food is excellent. Please replace normal polythin to something more durable.
Tried for the first time and trust me the choice which I made was certainly the best. Typical Homestyle mutton curry with reasonable portion. Only painful part was that this place is expensive for the portion they serve. Otherwise I think, we might try more of their delicacies provided the cost pays justice. Cheers 🥂 Rajshree Mukherjee Nair
Abhay is good. He attend the customer politely and nicely
Food ordered : chicken & mutton tikka
The restaurant have to improve as it has got poor ambience although , the platter is really worth it .
Chicken and mutton tikka tasted really great and the chefs know what they are doing
Great place to have good chicken Biriyani at JLT .good price .casual dining. Was my second time eating Chicken Biriyani there .was very nice and the quantity is good for one. Highly recommended specially for those in JLT .good Decoration and good for family dining. Coming back soon .
Visited this place thrice in the last 2 weeks. Absolutely love the Food- Taste, Quantity and Quality. Will keep visiting.
We ordered bhindi masala and paneer adraki. There were the one of the best dishes i had in Dubai. Authentic indian taste with very rich and thick gravy. Very generous portion size. Totally worth the money.
Today is coming restaurant I am eating butter chicken and chicken rara is very good test and staff is friendly and resturant manager abhay very good person and friendly person I am coming again to again
Always ordered online ....great Punjabi food as always
WE ORDERED ONE CREAM CHICKEN, PANEER LABABDAR, GARLIC NAAN & LACHA PARATHA. QUICK SERVICE...PANEER LABABDAR CAME TO ME AS SURPRISE IN WHITE GRAVY CREAMY, I WAS EXPECTING IT SPICY AS IN OTHER RESTAURANTS BUT IT WAS SO CREAMY, TASTES DIFFERENT BUT GOOD. CRUNCHY NAAN & LACHA PARATHA. CREAM CHICKEN WAS TOO GOOD.
This is our go-to place whenever we are craving for good north Indian style food. 5 star for Food especially Chicken Rara and Peshawari Chicken tikka. We also like their Paneer tikka. The spices are perfectly balanced and it tastes really good. Prices are also reasonable so, definitely worth a try for the food!!
Ambience- 2.5/5. Need a bit of improvement in the ambience. There was some weird odour during our last visit.
Quite a varied menu so no doubt everyone will be happy. Excellent butter chicken that hit the spot along with some fantastic garlic naan. And very affordable too. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
Haven't been to this place, but made an order from them. Just a reshmi kebab with nan combo. Thought, would turn out the same stuff from other places around the area, but to my surprise It wasn't. The Kebab and Nan combo tasted similar to the dhabas spread across delhi-chandigarh highway(ppl from punjab can correlate). The taste was nice and the nan was soft too(unlike the ones i tried from other places). The kebab wasn't as soft as it should be, but it tasted nice.
Worth a revisit to this place. Let's hope they live upto the expectation across all their menu items ;)
Ordered lunch from here - Chicken Ra Ra was fantastic!!! The Parathas were fresh and fluffy. Abhay the restaurant manager was great, efficient and quick to recommend the dish! Good experience and will order again!

Went for a Ramadan Iftar Buffet with Friends.
Good Quality of food.
Iftar was priced at 30/- per head.
The Chicken Rara was absolutely amazing. It had the spice to it that really went well with Naan.
Butter Chicken and the Chicken Biryani was okay, good but not the best.
Malai Kebab and Tikka were flavorful and yum!
Service was good, they kept filling the containers as soon as it got over.
Thank you for the good experience. ☺️😄

Authentic North Indian food. Good food and nice food presentation. Ambience is good. Service levels are good. Butter chicken and Chicken biryani should be on your list when you order food.
Visited Chawlas2 many times for their famous business lunch, probably one of the best in the area. The food could easily pass for food in a 5 star restaurant, really delicious 😋 and prepared to perfection👌
They have a different set daily dish business lunch every day of the week, all amazing 😉
Staff are friendly and very welcoming, ambiance is a little dry but the food more than makes up for it.
Highly recommended for hungry lunchers👌
1st visit after the reopening
impressive as always
One of the best north indian food in the area
Improved food service
chicken dishes must try
.Will be back soon .
thank you guys
This is our Goto place for authentic Punjabi food.
The staff is quite friendly and always smiling.
We have tried a lot of dishes here in veg and chicken. And have tried their fish starter many times.
If your looking for food without colors (even their tikka is without the red color which you find in other places) and good taste then should give it a try.
Ordered tawa chicken with butter chicken great dinning experience great food keep up the good work cheers great staff nice ambience worth every penny. Will recommend to others for sure
Best tikka and kebab in town. Chicken rara and bread basket are awesome. We got 20% discount on total bill. It worths
Good fresh food. The taste is very authentic. Went there initially for their cream chicken but most of their mains and tandoori stuff are good( Paneer /Chicken). Not a big fan of their rice items and deserts. The service is good and staff is friendly but they could improve on the seating. I would have liked them to continue their Gold option which seems to have gone after they reopened.
Chawlas2 restaurant is seriously good food tangri kabab and non veg platter.is good test cream chicken and chicken rara is good test i am coming again to again
Best north indian cuisine restaurant in jlt, you should try mutton chap, Non veg plater, pesawari tikka and chawlas 2 special cream chicken, chicken Rara and paneer tikka Masala. Excellent service.
Really they have amazing variety of Indian food. The ambience of the place was so good and eye catching. I am Happy to get served from this place. Strongly Recommendable.
Nice place to have some authentic Punjabi cuisine.
Interiors are also very different.
We had ordered chicken kabab platter, masala bhindi, Chicken Rara & rotis.
Chicken rara was something intresting that I ate.
Kabab were also perfectly done.
One quick input , the sitting is not comfertable. Only if they had few extra inches on the seat length!
But overall nice experience .
consistently good food delivered on time... thanks
The food was perfect I tried chicken tikka, mutton seekh kabab, chicken keema parantha, the portion is good taste is good it's not too spicy but at the same time it is good to taste, enjoyed eating. They have a small place to sit and eat .
It's a good food loved it totally
A well rounded trip to Punjab and back. The only joint with authentic Punjabi cuisine I have tried so far. The tandoori prawns were grilled perfectly. The marinade on the prawns were the right amount and it was even throughout so the flavours were wonderful with each bite.
The sweet lassi i ordered here was a bit too thick for my liking but the flavours of the lassi itself was delicious.

2. Fresh Lime Soda [12
Tangri Kebab [34
Chawlas.

A well rounded trip to Punjab and back. The only joint with authentic Punjabi cuisine we have tried so far.
Ambiance:
A quaint joint small in size but big on comfort level with some fabulous decor done right. It has a modern touch to the regular Dhaba experience one would have when in India. We loved how the wooden interiors blended so well with the light bulbs placed over each table. Such an eye pleaser.
There is an outdoor seating with a sea view would be best enjoyed in the current weather. What more can you want when there’s clouds over your head, fantastic Indian food on the table and a blissful view of the lake ahead.
Bite Board
1. Lassi [AED 15]: There are two classic options sweet or salted. We decided to go with one of each and oh boy were we not disappointed at all! It was thick, creamy and just the perfect drink to wash down the tasteful food with.
2. Fresh Lime Soda [AED 12]: Another refreshing drink that will bring back memories of India where it is quite famous and served in all kinds of places from small to big restaurants.
3. Non-Veg Platter: We had Mr. Arvinder decide the best dishes that we would not have tried elsewhere. We were definitely impressed with what was served to us.
Fish Tikka [AED 45]: Succulent pieces of grilled kingfish that goes perfectly well with the mint chutney if you want to up your spice level and have something on the spicier side. All the seafood fans, this is a must try!
Chicken Peshawari Tikka [AED 35]: Juicy bites of creamy chicken that is prepared in a clay oven. We loved how the chicken managed to stay warm even after a long haul of photographs and just disappeared within minutes. So you know now which starter is not to be missed on the menu.
Tangri Kebab [AED 34]: Drumsticks with stuffing of dry fruits and minced meat. We were wowed with this creation as we have never come across such a combination of stuffing! The nuts and the meat complemented each other. Another dish we recommend trying.
4. Tandoori Mutton Bara [AED 41]: Crispy lamb chops with tangy barbecue flavored crust. Every bite comes with a juicy slice of meat that just bursts out with flavors and takes you to another world altogether.
5. Cream Chicken [AED 37]: The signature dish which created a place in everyone’s heart. The chicken is cooked in cream and milk with a combination of spices invented by the family. It was as the name suggests really creamy, rich and not spicy at all. It definitely deserves all the praise it has received so far.
6. Mutton Rara [AED 44]: All the meat fans this one here is for you all to devour on because we definitely LOVED it! Luscious pieces of mutton along with minced meat dunked in a thick gravy.
7. Lacha Paratha [AED 6] & Butter Naan [AED 5]: To wipe off these yummy mains we got some hot, fluffy breads which were the right choices, though we preferred the butter naan over the paratha for being more soft!
The best part with their mains that you will not find anywhere else is NO food coloring and excessive oil that which is the sad case with most of the outlets serving Indian food in Dubai. Here you will be licking your hands off with the amazing taste because they are FINGER LICKIN GOOD!
8. Gulab Jamun [AED 15]: Its not the end if you do not complete your meal with something sweet. So we decided to try the gulab jamun and oh boy were we right to do so! We were served two HOT pieces of soft jamuns with the perfect amount of sweetness that you can go on eating without any guilt!
Service:
Kudos to Mr. Arvinder and team for providing us with the top notch service. All the servers were friendly and had a smile on their faces throughout the time.
Cash Outflow:
For the generous quantity and top quality dishes being served the price is definitely justified!
Circling Back:
We are definitely up for another round of divine desi food! So many more dishes that we would love to try out. Thank you for having us at Chawlas.

Great ambience. We had achari chicken and as suggested by the waiter garlic nan. The combination was perfect and we had tasty spicy and stomach fulfilling dinner.
Tangdi Kebab -
Moong Daal Halwa -

Dubai has quite a few options in terms of some great Punjabi food, One such discovery of a restaurant that serves great Punjabi food but still manages to add its own distinct touch to every dish happens to be Chawlas square. They’re located at Cluster M which is approximately a 15-20 min walk from JLT metro station but if you happen to go by car then the building has free parking for upto 3 hours.
We had quite a range of dishes since it was a blogger meet. For drinks we had the Lime soda and Lassi perfect to beat the heat and a great combination with the food.
Starters included:
Hariyali Paneer, Stuffed Tandoori Aloo, Hara Bhara Kebab – while the veg starters were all pretty good nothing stood out much so I’d rather stick with non-veg
Amritsari Fish Tikka – The fish was extremely tender and was extremely flavourful
Tangdi Kebab – Not your typical tangdi kebab as this had a secret surprise when you take a bite because it’s stuffed with nuts.
Chicken Peshawari Tikka – good dish but nothing extra ordinary
Mains:
Cream Chicken – Their signature dish which has its secret mix of spices specially flown in from Punjab
Chicken Rara, Mutton Kaali Mirch, Paneer Dhaniya Adraki – Gravies are extremely flavorful
Channa Masala – BEST CHHOLE I’VE HAD IN A WHILE. Would have been perfectly paired with Bhaturas but they have some really good Kulchas to pair it with.
Daal Makhni – while this Daal makhni was better than the dishes I’ve had elsewhere, people who are calorie conscious need to be careful since they go a tad bit overboard with the butter
Desserts:
Moong Daal Halwa – Loved this but again a little overboard because it’s greasy.
Gulab Jamun – Not overly sweet and perfectly balanced.
Overall Verdict: Great place to dine with family, interiors are simple and homely and the staff are really friendly. While the prices are tad bit high considering the location and the quality of food its justified.
Price is adequate, but gravy is common for all veggies. I hope for better variety.

Chawlas2 is not a sequel to Chawla's in Meena Bazaar. It basically stands for Chawlas Square {Chawlas*2} which means (as explained to us by the franchise owner Mr. Arvinder Gill), they serve veg as well as non-vegetarian food. Interesting concept we agreed and he gave us a history about how Chawlas was famous in Ludhiana (North India) for basically it's chicken but due to the growing demands of the population they decided to expand and cater to vegetarian foodies. Excellent choice because, my family has two very strict vegetarians and it's hard to please them with the meager variety of good veg food variety there is out there.
So we enter and are seated at this very contemporary Amritsari-Dhabba inspired place, that has hues of bright orange and the menu cards are embellished with little jingles. Super cute. Mr. Arvinder Gill, takes us through the menu and suggests that we best order the vegetarian and non vegetarian platters to get an idea of almost all kinds of starters they serve! We agree without a doubt and patiently wait for our food(not for long) while being entertained by him.
When the platters arrive we realize that's a lot of food for even the 6 of us that we're there. But in any case it looks delicious so after some photo session(thanks zomato) we indulge. The beg platter consisted of marinated and grilled potatoes, mushrooms, capsicum, paneer and baby corn, while the non vegetarian platter consisted of garlic chicken, chicken tikka, chicken sheekh, hariyali chicken to name a few. Each of them were cooked to perfection and had individual aromas and flavored regardless of being on the same plate. Definitely a winner.
For the mains we decided to order the hara-bhara kofta curry, butter chicken and on a suggestion the chicken dhaniya adraki which was the least spicy along with an assortment of breads. While the food was being prepared we were told that their trained cooks have been flown directly from the Ludhiana branch in India so as to maintain the quality and flavor of the food matching to Indian standards. Impressive!
The food arrived soon and again we were in admiration of the huge quantity and it was told that punjabis love their food and have no qualms about having a big portion to the satisfaction and hence the quantity. The kofta curry was something so different but delicious. It's not easy to make a spinach gravy taste good but these guys nailed it. And as for the chicken curries it was aced in terms of flavor for us! The butter chicken was mild and creamy while the adraki chicken was again creamy but had some nice notes of ginger and coriander to compliment it! Extremely stuffed but we still wanted to try something sweet so we ordered one portion of the rice kheer for the table and as expected it was divine! Not too sweet but just enough.
Chawlas2 has amazing North Indian cuisine that is authentic and true to its flavors and anyone craving that here in Dubai now has a place to go!
