A new restaurant is added to the huge array of restaurants in Karama, and it is definitely something everyone should try. At least someone who loves some quality Indian food.
Grand Mahal, located on the Zabeel street, Karama, with really pretty interiors had food which tasted magnificent.
For drinks, we had some very attractive Blue Lagoon mocktail: which I mixture of their specially prepared blue lagoon syrup mixed with some fizzy 7up. Also tried their Mix Berry Frape: which was a mixture of their special Red Berry Fruit mix syrup along with milk, vanilla and minty goodness.
For Starters, we tried their soups, salads & starters. Yes, we had loads of food. For soup, we tried their corn soup (prepared with exquisite Indian taste of corn garnished with traditional herbs & spices) & tomato soup (Freshness of tomatoes mixed with coriander with butter poached vegetables & served with bread croutons). Both the soups tasted very fresh and exquisite. The Rocca Salad served with batons of cucumber, tomato & carrot with a squeeze of lemon & comes with Mayo dip. Very fresh indeed.
From their appetizer range, we tried one of the best Chaat platters called "Chaat Bazaar" which is a selection of street food chat from the heavenly streets of India. All the chats tasted delicious and the dish is a definite must order if you ever head there. You have an option of ordering the chats separately as well.
Also had Paneer Tikka Angara, a good dish for all the paneer lovers. Homemade cottage cheese marinated in yoghurt perfectly mixed with aromatic spices and baked in a clay oven. Really well made.
Had a very different item on their menu as well, called Subz Gilafi Seekh, the dish was made of finely chopped bell peppers enveloped together making an exceptionally well-cooked vegetarian skewer, fashioned out of some selected minced vegetable with pleasing flavours.
@grand_mahal_restaurant For our main course, we have some delectable Subzis. The dish called Shadras Subziyan: was an exotic mix of vegetable well simmered in brown onions and cashew nut based gravy. Also had Tawa Paneer Khatta Pyaz: with our favourite paneer tikka cooked in an onion tomato masala gravy with some cocktail onion. These stunning dishes are usually accompanied by your choice of bread & rice. We hade these with some garlic nans and tandoori rotis.
Also had some gorgeous Sabz Dum Biryani: Freshly selected seasonal vegetables simmered in tomato, onion & spices steamed to supremacy with basmati rice, saffron & topped with some delish brown onion & mint. it was truly perfect.
For Desserts, we tasted some lovely Shahi Tukda, made with a caramelized brioche, pista kulfi ice cream & strawberry compote. A real treat.
Also the Kulfi Falooda, which is always a favourite. A legend says that the Kulfi ice cream was first created for the Grand Mughal Kind- Akbar, to help him recover the heat of summer.
The dessert consisted of Kulfi ice cream flavoured with cardamom and enriched with pistachios topped with some vermicelli. Beautiful.
All in all, this is going be my go-to place when needed a divine Indian treat.
waiting for this place to open up soon because i had the best chaat platter here! it had yummy pani puri, palak patta chaat, samosas, aloo tikki, pakoras and chaat. the barbeque platter is equally impressive.
The place is good and serves AUTHENTIC NORTH INDIAN FOOD! no fusion .. whenever we visit any Indian restaurant on small scale they fail to serve proper north Indian food as per menu and usually have other states influence!!
We ordered chicken chicken handi which was full of flavours, papri chaat perfectly moist, naan perfectly cooked and rice really long grain. The portion size was perfect , staff was courteous and we were so happy with the food that we really got to meet chef AJAY RANA, the man behind its awesome curries! .. good work and keep it up.
Nice place with good ambience. Friendly and accomodating staff. Weekdays it's not crowded which is good for some leisure time. Wouldn't mind visiting again ✌️
Lets start with ambience- the place has fresh feel really good smell and looks different.
Service-Our Server Diwakar was very well behaved and responsive.
Food-Chef Vicky as they told us made really good food. Tasty, right spice and generous quantity.
As told to us, the restaurant is owned by an Emirati who for no doubt has great taste for North Indian food. Hats off to his choice of everything. From interior to menu. Everything seemed great there.
Only downside was their was a big family gathering which was very noisy which we think is one time affair.
So, giving 5 stars and would totally recommend this hidden gem. Looking forward to more visits here in future.

Honestly i'm a very picky eater when it comes to biryani and i've only ever liked/ordered from just one place everytime. But this place has seriously changed my opinion.
Haven't visited but ordered the Masala chaanch and Grandmahal Biryani combo for lunch(chicken biryani with mutton roganjosh). Both tasted great.
The portion size for the combo was good enough for 2 people in my opinion, given the price.
Definitely ordering from here again.

Food: Absolutely delicious. Kadhai paneer was spot on. Rice was fluffy and wonderfully cooked. Dal Makhani was creamy and delicious! And the highlight of the meal was the gulab jamun. Loved the food!
Very good food. Naan was still fresh when opened from box. Chicken curry and biryani both were very tasty. Will definitely order again from here.
The restaurant has a beautiful decor. The North Indian food was amazing. The Afghani chicken starter was very delicious. And the curries are good too. The staff are very polite and friendly.
Visited not yet, but ordered food for lunch. Ordered mutton biriyani and baadshahi Chicken but baadshahi Chicken was not available so we change and ordered chicken jalfrezi. Food was good. Biriyani was melting in the mouth. Delivery was also good. So will try visit once.

Yeah the food taste was good we enjoy the food but firstly it was a little bit sweet but overall the food was tasty but not up to mark delivery is fast and quick but the breads was a little bit cold you guys are doing great keep going ..........

Grand Mahal... It is newly opened restaurant in Hub for food lovers, Karama... I was looking for a party hall to host a function (Baby Shower) on 21st Dec 18 for 40 people and I was advised to visit Grand Mahal once. There wasn't any party hall although interior was good and very nice. It was a fine dine... I tried food there and instantly finalized to have function there. We were offered to have entire restaurant and staff confirmed to make arrangements as per our requirements. The space created was big enough and we never felt space constraints.
We had function and all I can say I could not have better venue than Grand Mahal. The ambiance was Supperrrrrbbbbb and we had great choice to decorate in the way we wanted.
Now comes food... All I can say, we opted vegetarian menu and it was really delicious. Welcome drinks were something worth trying (watermelon MOJITO and one lemon drink customized) . Starters (SOYABEAN Kabab was winner among 3) were served hot and the service was excellent. Main course had multiple options. In desserts, gulab jamun was clear winner. All my guests were happy and enjoyed the food.
I am and will be strongly recommending to people to visit Grand Mahal at least once and I am sure you will be regular.
Special mention for entire staff and Mr. Anup Rawat for attending and actually advising the great menu.
Lastly, for non-vegetarians, food paradise is waiting for you at Grand Mahal. Do visit to enjoy awsome North Indian cuisine.

Ordered a biryani combo from here. It had two naans, butter chicken, biryani and one gulab jamoon. Delivery was quick and though the food was fine, it could have more flavour, specially the biryani which was very bland. But in terms of value for money and service, I was very happy
We had Chicken Tikka Masala and Mutton Biriyani. The flavor was strong, mildly spicy and we really loved it. The Tomato soup may have been ordinary. The ambiance is good and place was not busy at all. Service was also great. We will surely be back to try more.

I chose this place to celebrate the anniversary of my parents and I'm so glad I did. The ambiance justifies the name Grand Mahal. There was parking right outside the place so no hassle. On my request they decorated our table with red balloons and candles and it was beautiful. My parents loved it. The service was good too. We ordered a Chicken Tikka, Murgh Dum Biryani, Kadhai Chicken and Butter/Garlic Naans. Food was great. Portions were excellent. Worth the price. I was a little disappointed with the drink we ordered, it was a Pomegranate Mocktail but tasted very weird. Even after the replacement there was no much change in the taste. Other than that we were happy with everything. Had a great time!

The food was awesome. The quantity was great and total value for money while ordering through zomato. The only thing they definitely need to improve on is their delivery timeframes. Overall I would recommend this place to all. Just that if you’re super hungry, the delivery is not as efficient and could make you HANGRY!

Just like their name Grand Mahal's interiors are like some mahal. Comfortable seating, well lit, nice decor is something that will remind you of a Palace. The food is good too. We had amritsari fish, chicken curry, butter naan, dal tadka, jeera rice which was all very good. The best part was
the dessert-Gulab Jamun. Hot and soft just right. Their staff is very polite. Special mention of their staff Dewakar who made sure that we feel at home. The place is high on price though. But overall a good place for family :)

We were invited here for a lunch session. We were served with chicken manchow soup and for drinks I went with the matka cream lassi. The cream lassi was a stunner - so thick and frothy🤤 The soup was really flavorful as well!
For appetizers, we were presented with the BBQ veg and non-veg platter. The paneer and baby corn from the veg platter were great! The kebabs in the non-veg platter tasted good but was a tad bit salty. For the mains we got the murgh matka and the paneer makhani. The murgh matka tasted great with the naans! We then got the Cartier-e-shan biryani which was great as well! It had a unique taste to it as it was garnished with olives (something I’ve NEVER come across before!)
Finally, for desserts we had the phirni. The phirni had an average amount of sweetness to it, not overly sweet which is perfect for someone who doesn’t like overly sweet desserts!

Celebrated my wife's birthday dinner here.. We were a total of 12 guests and I must say that from the beginning of making the reservation to the end of paying the bill I was extremely satisfied with all that the restaurant provided. It has a decent setup which is well suited for fine dining. Quality and quantity of the food was awesome and cost effective. Theres plenty of parking available and Wi-Fi is also available.. Would definitely visit here again. Special thanks to Grand Mahal for setting us all up and making my wife's day the best and a memorable one.

It was a public holiday- EID . Thought it would be busy . So made a reservation. For a minute I thought they had booked the entire restaraunt for 5 of us

After much contemplation as to where to have dinner on busy Thursday night, we decided to try out this place. It did not disappoint us at all.
What we ordered:
grand mahal platter- hands down some of the most flavourful kebabs I've tasted. Truly refreshing
Steamed rice and some chicken gravy- was a nice indulgence of simplicity
Loved the interior a lot. Felt very cozy and comfortable to enjoy dinner with the fam

Visited the restaurant yesterday with family. Ordered Grand Mahal Platter for starters which have chicken tikka, malai tikka, tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, and Calamari, each of which was tender and perfect. For the main course, we ordered butter chicken and nalli gosht with butter naan and it was finger licking good. Service is quick. I am definitely going again and again to try rest of the menu. amazing food and service great experience. Recommended item paneer sirka pyaz,chicken biryani, Grand mahal plater,cheese chilli naan

We went for iftar buffet...it was delicious.quantity wise very much enough ,bread is good Quality.dal Makhani was too tasty ,not to forget the nelofer kheema was awesome.dessert were too good..I loved them all..let down or not to the mark was mutton biryani ..staff is very friendly .served everything as per our wish..a big thumbs up..

Delicious appetizing food without breaking the wallet.
I dinned at Grand Mahal after seeing them on social media & thought why not to try a new restaurant in town. A restaurant opens up if they believe they can serve good food; otherwise what’s the point! On a weekend night I had a grand dinner here which did not break my wallet.
For starters we ordered a mix chaat platter which consists of samosa, dahi balay , cholay ,pakoram sev puri & pani puri. The quantity in this platter is perfect for two. Whatever I ate was savory & divine. For our main courses we selected a prawn’s biryani & mix grill platter. The prawns biryani comes in clay pot covered with baked dough. The prawn biryani was pleasing, mildly spiced & aromatic with nice hints of cardamom & saffron. The second main course item mix grill platter had chicken tikka, chicken malai boti , mutton seekh kababs & fried calamari. I relished & devoured all the grilled dishes with one exception. Out of all the grilled items I wolfed down the chicken malai boti. Tender soft succulent chicken in white creamy base infused with beautiful herbs. The only item I didn’t enjoy was the fried calamari; personally I believe a fried item should not be included in a mixed grill. Taste wise the fried calamari were decent.
For desserts we chose a dessert which is loved by almost everyone – gajjar ka halwa. I have this rule while rating a restaurant; if the desert is mediocre it spoils the entire experience of a good meal. Luckily the gajjar ka hawla was delicious, nectarous & heavenly.
Apart from the mouthwatering food & dessert I would want to highlight the fantastic service we received. In addition dining in a dimly lit romantic setting with some light Bollywood instrumental music playing was a plus.
My family and I have dined once and it was an amazing experience. The restaurant has a cozy ambiance to dine and the food was just so yummy! Again we decided to try their delivery and Wow! It's excellent! The food came on time with a great packaging. It's a highly recommended fine dining restaurant.

Got recommendation from one close friend, so tried their iftar set menu last week. Located in busy karama area, a little difficult to find parking nearby in busy hours. The iftar menu was extremely reasonably priced with ample variety of dishes to try from. Food was delicious, good portions, well presented, staffs were extremely courteous and helpful. In short, a well recommended place to try out. We will definitely come back to try the ala carte.
Nice food and nice staffs...we enjoyed the iftar set menu..there were varieties..the price was reasonable and moreover the food was tasty..staffs were very helpful..will go again. It's a new food joint and their desserts were awesome
Delicious Indian food and nice ambiance I enjoyed Prawns kunafa ! the price for Ramadan iftar is very reasonable ! A certainly recommended menu to try! Very welcoming and kind staff as well

Good North Indian food, recommended items mutton biryani (Muglai type) and Mutton Seek Kebab; all breads ( rotis ) are good. Slightly overpriced but worth it!! Enjoyed the food 🥘!!
