This is a stylish outlet well presented and clean. It should have better signage as it’s easy to miss at the entrance of the Sheraton Abu Dhabi. The service was welcoming and professional. I was very pleased with the immediate appetizers of in house made bread and dips, really delicious! The food was all very well presented and I was impressed with the pasta made in-house. I wished the mozzarella to be authentic Italian as it’s a UAE cheese that did not taste like real mozzarella. Also the tiramisu was s let down with low key flavors. I wanted authentic marscapone with more coffee flavors. The panna cotta is outstanding! Highly recommend this desert and the sea food is very well made too. Not freshly caught daily though. These are the reasons for a 4 star rating. Solve those issues and it’s an easy 5 star.
Been to la mama for dinner..

Overall great experience 10/10.
Thank you guys for the fantastic dinner.
La Mamma was our go-to Italian restaurant back when we (the whole family) lived in Abu Dhabi. Thursday lunches or celebratory dinners were always spent at this wonder and my introduction to beautiful Italian food.
I haven't been there for 23 years.
Since it's been open all this time, I'm going to give it a preliminary rating of 4 pending my visit this weekend.
What a reunion this will be! I can't wait!
I haven’t tried this restaurant but have a comment on the timing! Closing at 3:30 pm on weekends is inconvenient since lunches are usually late and even if you decide to go at 2 pm for lunch, you still don’t have enough time.
A fancy place for Italian food. Did not expect the food to be so delicious. We had sea bass and slow roasted salmon and it was delectable - especially the sea bass. The place is spacious and the service is nice. Portions are above average and there has never been a change in consistency for me, personally. They always maintain their standard of food quality, quantity, presentation and taste. Their minestrone soup is one of the better ones I have tasted as is their fried calamari and eggplant Parmesan.
It was last Thursday when we've decided to have dinner here.
We've ordered the following:
• Calamari Fritti Con Salsa Tartara
• Cappricciosa
• Tagliatelle Con Gamberi Zucchine
• Pannacotta Ai Frutti Di Bosco, Cannolo Siciliano E Chiliegnine Candite
• Stella Artois
Overall, it was a yummy treat! We we're so happy with what we had ordered as everything feels fresh.
Oh, I was expecting for the Pannacotta to be small but it is humongous plus yummy.

From the moment that I moved in Abu Dhabi I'm going to La Mamma, especially for important occasion and the staff is always very nice. Chef Yuri is amazing, he listen his clients and he advice you always in an amazing way. They change even the interiors and now it's very nice. Love it 😍
I was invited by Sheraton Abu Dhabi, for a tasting at their Italian restaurant, La Mamma, last week. Having been born and brought up in Abu Dhabi, Sheraton is one iconic hotel I have seen growing up. It is a place that brings back lots of memories. Though I live in Dubai now, I still use their services.
Lovely place , plenty of souvenirs in this place that has been in town for as long as I remember , all dishes are good and the staff of great ... Location doesn't help now that you have plenty of fancier place but it has it s own character for sure
We recently visited La Mamma for their 'make your own pizza' lunch. An excellent concept that gives kids the ability to make their own pizzas, while the adults get to dine in comfort. Which is just perfect for families.
Having never dined at the Sheraton before, we were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. La Mamma is a relatively small dining space, located just off the busy hotel lobby, but we felt at home as soon as the warm staff welcomed us in.
The kids were given aprons and chefs hats, complete with plastic plates and an abundance of ingredients, to craft their own unique pizzas. The tables were decorated with balloons and the whole place emanates a relaxed and fun vibe. Murals of the sun cover the ceiling and are complemented by the yellow walls and burnt orange upholstery of the venue.
The centre of the room is home to an unlimited anti-pasti buffet, comprising everything from artichokes to shrimp salads and a vast array of breads and pork products.
While we tucked into the buffet, the kids happily constructed the pizzas and once complete, the chefs take them away to be cooked. This in undertaken in an open kitchen, so the kids can watch the pizza being cooked or help themselves to some delicious soft focaccia or a portion of pasta.
As well as the buffet, adults also get a main course. We went for the ham pizza and knew we had made the correct choice, as it smelt so good before we even tasted it. We also had the lamb shank, which was tender and flavoursome.
After finishing the pizzas, the kids are then given cakes to construct and decorate, before being provided a Polaroid photo of the experience to keep.
We really liked the interactivity of this lunch and the fact that the kids really got to enjoy themselves.
Went for valentine's day.. nice service plus great food.. loved that the kitchen is open you can see the chef's cooking and the salad bar is great too
I must say I was pleasantly surprised from La Mamma.
Me and my partner used the Entertainers voucher and got two main courses plus antipasti from the buffet for 130dhs which as per my opinion was a sweet deal.
I got the baked eggplant and cheese as main and end up absolutely satisfied. The antipasti buffet was great too.
The one point lower comes from the fact my partner was not very happy with his tuna pizza and also I found it difficult to understand when our waiter was explaining the concept of the buffet deal.
The manager was constantly present which was very nice. The staff in general were very polite.
In general I was very happy with the experience and planning to go back.
La Mamma restaurant at the Sheraton Croniche doesn't pretend to be a fancy joint and this is reflected in its' food and decor.
Decorated in classic simple decor, the sitting although inside can be quite nice especially if you choose one of those tables beside the glass windows. Keeping cool while having an outdoor feeling with all the sunlight steaming in.
Nice assorted bread basket and some small canapés were served while we waited for our orders.
As this is a light lunch, we skipped the appetizer and went straight for the mains. I ordered the Fritto Misto as a main and it was not bad. Not super crispy but still a good batter and served warm. There were some mussels in the mix which ended up abit dry when deep fried. The white bait and calamari were the best. The fries was a bit of a weird addition and the accompanying salad was not as well dressed in seasoning.
My partner's pizza was a winner. Dare we say it's better than Bocca and a few other restaurants. His order of Burratina e Speck pizza has a great pizza dough base, nice balance of sauce and cheese topped with just the right amount of crisped pork speck. So in all goodness, definitely recommending the pizza.
The mocktails/ cocktails are worth trying too. My cucumber, lime and ginger ale mix was very refreshing.
Look out for subsequent updates as there seems to be quite a few items in the menu that we like so definitely we will be coming back again.
Wow! This is the word that would describe our most recent experience at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort. The hotel is overlooking the Arabian Golf on one side, and ranges into the skyline of Abu Dhabi on the other side. We checked in last week and had the pleasure to stay over for one week. Up on check in we were welcomed by the front office team - the friendly valet man, the bell boy who took our luggage and waited next to us until we received our room keys, and the charming receptionist who checked us in.
A couple of years ago we visited the hotel's pool area for some sun downers, and could not wait to relax at the pool again, on the following day. Filled with high expectations we followed the bell boy to our room on the second floor, and must admit our expectations were met. The room was cozy, the bath tab huge and the bed felt like heaven.
Even all our favorite German TV channels were available, which made it even more comfortable to calm down and relax before commencing a busy week of workshop delivery. The room however was just the bonus of our stay. We did not feel well, and had fever on the second day, a very common symptom during this time of the year, and therefore called up the reception to check with them if it was possible to enjoy the full board dinner in our room instead of downstairs in the restaurant.
Instantly the receptionist informed me that they would do anything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and that they would arrange something for us. They asked us to wait for another 10 minutes until the restaurant was officially opened for public and forwarded our request to the room service team and wished us a fast recovery.
After a couple of minutes, we received another call, this time from room service to check if we had any food allergies or any preferences in taste. We told them that we were easy going on the food and thanked them for the concern and great service in advance. 15 minutes after we hang up the phone, a three course menu was delivered to our room. Chicken, lamb, vegetables, a burger, nachos, fruits, bread and butter were served. A menu for an entire family, and it was delicious. The next day, we went straight to bed after the workshop and skipped the pool as we had the great intention to last until 7 pm and have dinner like everyone else in the restaurant.
We made it downstairs and headed to La Mamma, the Italian on the property's lobby level. We chose a table in the corner of the beautifully decorated diner, and chose a soup as well as a stone - oven pizza from the menu. We lasted through out the Minestrone - which was great - but terrible failed to wait for the pizza. The fever did not go down, in fact the temperature had gone up during the day, and made it impossible for us to stay in the restaurant. We asked the waiter for assistance, and he immediately informed the chef to prepare our pizza, takeaway. Wow!
The hotel might look a bit elder than others, but on all other dimensions of style, offers, outdoor areas, spas, gyms and especially service the Sheraton on the Corniche can easily compete with all these super modern, new luxury temples in the city.
A big thank you to the entire team and a message to the General Manager: "Properties like yours should participate in the 2015 Middle East Hotel Awards!"
Have a great week ahead everyone,
SE
Great Italian resturant with consistent fresh and quality food. Pizza is very good and so is there selection of pastas and other mains. You can't go wrong here if you are in the mood for Italian.
La Mamma is reliable and reasonable. The location is easy to find and except for Thursday or Friday night, you probably don't need a booking.
This place has been around for years and is ideal for a casual lunch or dinner. The decor may appear a little out dated, but that is very quickly forgotten. The restaurant is comfortable, with a unique layout and open kitchen.
The menu is broad enough for everyone to find something they fancy, and in my experience they modify it enough from time to time to keep it interesting.
The food is of a decent quality, tasty, and they are very accommodating - if you want to add or remove something to your dish it is no problem. They have good appetizers, pasta, pizza, meats and fish, decent wine selection - it is all round good quality, and value for money.
Would definitely recommend it for a casual dinner.
We've been going there for years, and the quality remains high.. that's why we keep going back!

Nice atmosphere. If you are a beer drinker happy hour has a lot of options but not if you prefer wine. Food portions were good and tasty.
