Usually order Masala Dosa and Channa Batura. It has always been consistent and good. Keep up the good work.
Saravana Bhavan is a goto place for amazing dosas and other Indian delicacies.
I personally like their variety of dosas and paneer butter masala with Jeera rice.
Rava onion dosa & Ghee masala dosa is a must try.
Staff are kind and attentive.
If you order- delivery takes too long because the delivery is done by restaurant themselves. So make sure to order at least a hour before. Also, dosas get soggy and not a good option for home delivery.
We ordered our usual ghee masala dosa which was excellent. Idli sambar was good. Vada was cold. Delivery time was slightly delayed.
An excellent option for authentic South Indian Cuisine... They have a variety of Dosas... Must try item is their Masala Dosa
The ghee masala dosa was a bit too big, and Pav bhaji was bland. Chutneys were good
This place has ample seating area. It’s typically crowded and buzzing with customers wanting to relish South Indian food. Must try: Mysore masala dosa, masala dosa, idli-Wada sambar and the amazing filter kaapi (coffee)
Being a frequent customer, the wait time has never exceeded 15min even on the weekends where you’d typically find big groups or families catching up over breakfast/ brunch.
A must visit place in case you’re missing out on your South Indian favourites.

Nothing beats the South Indian taste than this home-like restaurant. Just a bite and you will feel the warmth of your home cooked food which will definitely take you back to India. In fact better than many restaurants in South India itself. Idli, poori, dosas, vada...you name it, they get it right...Though it's hard to communicate with their staff due to their local hires, I ignore just because of the taste of their chutneys. Lots of love as they cook exactly like my mom ❤️
My fav place for breakfast. The service was fast. We tried the dosa, poori and gobi-65. The taste was amazing. It’s located at the 2nd floor madinat zayed.
What's not to like here. I go to this place specifically for masala dosa they have best sambar and chutneys in town.
Choley bhaturey are just OK not north Indian style but still with the economical prices, they are doing good.
Clean and nice ambiance, kids high chair is provided, the staff is prompt.

I tried the North Indian thali and tea here . The food was great , rotis and daal were great . The tea was super amazing and the people were nice. If you are in Abu dhabhi and are a vegetarian then you can trust this place. For more reviews don’t forget to follow me on Instagram ID: @mybohovoyage
If you are craving for South Indian vegetarian food, then this is one of the best option... I usually order online... I love their dosas and idlis... Recently tried kaima idli which is really good and that made me to write review now... I always love saravanaa bhavan's sambar and chutneys (especially the tomato one)
Have been to their outlets in Chennai before.
Tried the one in Madinat Zayed and was a nice experience. They have a variety of dosas (nice, hot and crispy) and absolutely loved each one of them.
One of my favorite places for dosas, specifically the rava dosa. Will definitely keep visiting.
Very nice place to have south indian food. Very well prepared amd tasty food.
The mysore masala is very nice, and also the cofee is so tasty
This is a nice place if you have been craving south indian food. Usually not being a fan of dosa, I love it here. I have tried their dosas, idlis, vadas, thali, chole bature and few of their chinese dishes. Everything is good. I am a big fan of their batura since it’s not too oily or it doesn’t become too stretchy after it cools. However their chinese dishes are strictly ok. Ordered a gobi manchurian once and it so thick and lumpy- too much of corn flour. Now I stir clear of chinese food there. The service is great too!
The food is quite good and so is the spaciousness of the restaurant. Most of the waiters are courteous too. However, what bothers me is that the uniforms of the waiters seem to be unwashed for long , there are food splatters all over. I wish they would be clean in this respect, it would do much to improve customers’ perception of the hygiene of this restaurant .
One of our weekend breakfast places. Their dosas are the best, and always come out crisp and golden, and is enough to fill you up with a single one. Pooris are yum too, and if you haven't already, ask for their kuruma with pooris which is plain delicious. Try the filter kaapi to round it all up.
We are regulars there and rarely have had any problems with service.
The dinner is ok. If you'd really like to catch Saravana at it's best, be there for their breakfast or lunch thalis.
Love the food here. The service is quick and the food is lip smacking. My go-to for South Indian food in Abu Dhabi. My complaint is, wish they would also serve idlis and vadas during lunchtime.
Saravanan my all time favourite. Specially for their breakfast. I like their idil vada and the chai. They have really good Pulao rice as well. I would also recommend their Thali as well. Saravanaa is a must visit restaurant in Abu Dhabi for idli vada lovers.
I have been to this place with my family as well as my colleagues. Since this is one of the few Dosa places with a decent ambience, I can bring my western colleagues to this restaurant as well.
We ordered Gobi 65, Paneer Chilly Dry and one Potato dish for starters and all were extremely delicious. We ordered a variety of Dosa’s, Idly and medu wada which was served with a few variety of delicious chatni. The Mysore Masala Dosa was way too spicy to handle. Everything else was just perfect.
Our first visit to this outlet in abu dhabi. The mini tiffin was of good quantity for a hungry tummy. The vadas were soft and crispy! The sambar was thick and tasty. The chutneys were all tasty. Only drawback I noticed was the masala was less in masala dosa and even when we ordered poori the masala was the same and served less quantity than required. The service was ok. But I guess people come here for the food and don’t care much about anything else.
A fantastic South Indian vegetarian thali for lunch and planner 65 an add-on
Taste was Wow....
Very spacious seating...
Fantastic interior...
humble staffs...
I recommend and a must try 👍🏾

I love trying different countries' cuisines and I was introduced to and fell in love with South Indian cuisine because of Saravna Bhavan. Simply the BEST South indian restuarant in Abu Dhabi !
Very good south Indian restaurant, neat & clean, friendly staff
food is very testy** but bit expensive
Thali is testy but 1 small problem they will not give poori's quickly we need to wait very long
Tried their puri bhaji and masala dosa which was really tasty. Sarvanaa bhavan is the place for the best breakfast.
Overall a very good experience.
An authentic South Indian restaurant which will never disappoint your South Indian cravings...
Bisibille saadam (Hope I spelled it properly) was simply finger licking....
Looking forward to some new dishes for my next visit
This is our favourite place so far in abu dhabi to have south indian breakfast. Love their dosa’s; miglai podi (with gunpowder)is great in taste, masala dosa, rava masala & maysore masala are also good. I feel their Paneer masala dosa is overstuffed; better to order only if u prefer too much stuffing inside your dosa.
We are a FAN of their mango lassi, looks great and tastes heavenly. We are yet to find a place that serves better mango lassi than this.
-Seating space is big
-usually crowded on weekends
-service is quick
-staff is nice
I love the Paneer Dosa here. They are better than the one at Sangeetha. Their Chilli Gopi is spicy and add a good kick to everything else that will be on the table. They also have really good ghee Mysore Pak, after which you will fall asleep or get high.
Can you guys imagine south Indian restaurant in a place like abu dhabi serving authenticate taste must go if you are in abu dhabi feels like you are in india
After a very long time we got a chance to try their food. Ordered masala dosa and ghee roast. Both were good. We saw them serving refill food to some people and it felt very nice. Their service was very good.
I have been here more than a couple of times. Being an enthusiast for anything non veg, Saravanaa Bhavan was one of a select few restaurants which showed me that veg cuisine can actually be as entertaining and flavourful. Their masala dosas are all goods but the Channa Batura exemplary and is an all time favourite for me. I would strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone who has an inclination for South Indian cuisine. The decor is comfy, the staff are very friendly and the price is also reasonable . All in all it is definitely worth trying.
Oh I loved the dosa and indian dessert at this place.. I loved South Indian food especially dosa and they have the best I’ve ever tasted it is well blended with chutneys they served with it
We've had their tiffin items before and have liked the taste but today in the mood for a proper meal, we ordered the business meal. Priced at 14 dhs it's a steal! 3 varieties of rice (Sambhar rice, curd rice, tomato rice), poori-kurma and 1 side dish, along with papad n pickle, wash it down with sweet payasam!
The meal was so filling that I was finding it difficult to finish it. Loved the taste!
Ordered breakfast from saravanaa bavan.. the order was delivered on time.. and was tasty as well.. would recommend for some nice south i dian veggies...

After a lazy Saturday evening on beach. We ended up at saravana bhavan .
One of the largest veg restaurant chain in the world 🌎 and my go to place for authentic South Indian veg dishes🍴 .
Food is nice and perfect for casual dining or get to gather.
Prices💰 are reasonable and the ambience is average.
Food served here brings back smell and memories of local South Indian restaurant back home in India 🇮🇳.
We ordered
Mini idli- 4/5

Kara dosa- 4/5
Rava dosa -2.5/5

Overall I had a good experience and would come back again.
My go-to place for vegetarian, south Indian cuisine!! Whether it is in India, Sri Lanka or UAE. Love their masala dosa, chole bhature and uttapam followed by their famous filter coffee of course. Wish they had more dessert options though :(
Food served here brings back smells and memories of Tamil Nadu.i ordered plain dosa and mini idlies.the mini idlies were well upto my satisfaction.Sambar was fantastic. The service and ambience are pretty decent with a total family and friends atmosphere. All in all, other than the cost factor, everything else about the place was great.
very good restaurant for people who loves south Indian dishes, dosa, pongal, vada everything i tried here is good taste and good quality with great service and freindly staff
One of my favorite vegetarian South Indian restaurants in Uae to get the most mouth savory Indian dishes.
My fav includes puri Bhaji, ghee roast and their most famous filter coffee.
The poori bhaji is soft and crunchy just perfect poori.
They have wide variety of selection for dosa’s all of which taste amazing.
Their service is very quick and the staff are quite welcoming. The restaurant manages to keep their ambiance up to the point. The view from the restaurant is really great to catch a glimpse of madinat Zayed area.
Nice food and environment for family dine in their chole batura and dosa everyone will fall for derives was upto the mark and good restaurant of u have plans of having. A vegetarian Tamil Nadu cuisines
The best food to try at Sarvanaa Bhawan is Dry Fruit Rava MasaLa Dosa.
Very nice ambience and very nice food ..prices are not high..cordial staffs also..one of my favorite restaurant...don’t miss their special tea...my favorite
my favourite Indian restaurants in town ,
Best dishes that I would recommend- dosa, Puri with choley ,ghee pongal, vada, mushroom fry ,paratha, chapatti and one thing that is a must to have is their FILTER COFFEE 😍 , I don't like their juices and neither their Pani Puri ,One more suggestion would be that if u plan to have breakfast here try to go early 8-9am max 10 am to get the best of experience.
Review based experience that I had 6 months back.
Based on a recommendation from a friend we had driven from Sharjah to Abu Dhabi just to have their dry fruit dosa..... Ohh bwoy and I should say it was worth the ride
Simple, Wholesome,Nourishing and absolutely tasty. I can easily say that this is the best place for a proper South Indian feast. This Unpretentious restaurant is only here to serve the best South Indian cuisines. They got everything just spot on in terms of flavours and spices and heat. Our favourite is the Special Thali which has a variations of different curries offered with Roti and rice. And I'm not even exaggerating, If you go there everyday and you order the special Thali you be pleasantly surprised that the curry's changes every single day and you'll be trying something new. it's just such a wonderful meal. We also love the paper dosa and the gobi 65 which tastes like chicken but made with cauliflower. (pics not added) but please do try that. it's so delish. You can't beat this place when it comes to South Indian food.
Great Thalis! One of the best places for South Indian Thalis either mini or otherwise. Full speed service usually, good service too. The best Filter Coffee too if you're into that.
Good service .taste of the food is good and consistent .....................................................................................
This restaurant is one of my favourite for authentic south indian vegetarian dishes. When you enter the restaurant you will get nice aroma of Sambhar which immediately tickles your taste bud. Service is very prompt.
One of big names in South Indian cuisine restaurant in U.A.E & INDIA.
Very nice food, good for casual dining or get together.

A calm and quiet place, perfect for family and otherwise.
Ghee roast was crispy and the chutney given were amazing and fresh.
Water melon juice was refreshing.
The USP of Saravanaa Bhavan is not exactly its taste but the ingredients. It is believed that they use the best ingredients and not cheap alternatives. For example they use only pure ghee (North Indians call it desi ghee) for their Pongal and not the vegetable oil (also known as vanaspati) mostly used by other South Indian restaurants. South Indian vegetarian restaurants still provide drinking water free of cost whereas most restaurants insist on your buying the costly bottled water. In fact here you can even ask for hot water, which is served free. But of late, the taste of most of the food items has been going down. The sambar served by them is never tasty as it seems they grind the lentils which is not done in a good sambar. Sometimes they don't check the items before serving, whether a dosa is burnt or an adai is half-cooked. Items which are supposed to be available at 7 PM may not be available till 7.30 or 8. The menu has been the same dull one. Highly bureaucratic as they require Head Office instruction even for providing simple saunf (fennel seeds), which is taken as a mouth freshener after food. They serve only the heavily sugar coated ones. Every time I go, I ask them to keep the simple plain ones too. They are still waiting for their Head Office approval apparently. But I keep going to these restaurants due to lack of choice for vegetarians and all said and done, Saravanaa Bhavan is one of the safest bets for South Indian food of reasonable standard.
Food
Nice south Indian food try dosa that's the best thing you can ever get in sarvana bhavan
Very clean Restaurant
Nice ambient
Staff is Asso good
Price is high compare to near by restaurants
Authentic south Indian restaurant...it's not just popular because of its worldwide spread..it popular because of its taste and yes its our always stop for south Indian food... especially those mini idllis dipped in sambar, thali and filter coffee 😋🙂🙂
The best vegetarian restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Whenever we go for shopping in madinat Zayed we used to go here for the dinner.
Our special request always here are Ghee Roast and pongal vada
Nice ambience but loud songs some time annoying.
Services are OK and recommended for families.
We tried thali on friday and it ws really good. The quality and the taste ws very nice. The best part is even in afternoon they provide dosas which very few south indian restaurants provide at that time. The staff were courteous and friendly. Overall experience ws very good. Highly recommended
First time i went ,South indian Foods lovers must to eat here.
I order Ghee Rava dosa,it will come with three varieties of Chutney and very very tasty SAMBAR .I love this sambar.
And Veg katlet and panner kadai its tasty.
Finally we drink Badam milk hot, its super taste foodie lover try this milk.
ordered Ghee roast Masala,Masala Dosa,Gobi 65 and Vada.
Ghee roast Masala overall good.Potato Masala requires bit more salt.
Gobi 65 was awesome
vada was a disaster it was cold and with no flavours.
Located at the Madinat Zayed mall, it can be easily located by the locals as well as tourists.
It serves variety of South indian dishes.
It was a pleasure to find a dosa being served with 4 different chutneys innate of its origin with the flavorsome sambhar. A wide range of dosas to select from. My personal favorite being ghee roast.
There are south and north indian thalis too being served here.
An absolute pleasure for any Indian to discover this place.
Ambience could be better but acceptable.
Service is quick and friendly.
Overall, an above average place.
Been there many a times while visiting Madinat Zayed shopping Center.
Good food.
Usually masala dosa, sambar vada, or ghee dosa and coffee.
Sometimes many items might not be available as per timings.

Definitely a place to head if you are looking to grab a quick South Indian breakfast ! The restaurant located in Madinat Zayed is a fav if you are craving dosas and some good filter coffee ! This place is usually packed on Friday mornings ! And if you can't make up ur mind what to orde, you can go for the mini tiffin which has mini idlis dosa and kesari and try the diff items. You get your order quickly which is the best part.
Favorite place for south indian food.. excellent food, spacious seating, great service and yes pocket friendly.
Had ordered idli , masala dosa and ghee rava dosa, all were superb.. full marks!
After Sangeeta, this is the place I would select to have south Indian food... Their mini tiffin's are a must try.... I love the taste of their food.. Have tried almost everything here... A must visit for people who love South Indian food...

My favorite food to begin my day whenever i am in Abu Dhabi and staying nearby saravanaa bhavan. Delicious puri and outstanding tea. ☕️😘😘😘
The world famous veg tamilnadu restaurant. I like their pongal and medhu vada. Really nice quality foods and quantity are less.
Prices are reasonable and services needs to improve.
If someone asked me to eat vegetarian food for dinner, I would refuse usually as I love meat but my Bestfriend assured me that this is worth the diet change for the night.
Located at the foodcourt near the Filipino restaurant Hot Palayok, this resto has a very huge space for seating numerous guests so no complains and a large option for vegetarian dishes all originated from India. The waiters are very polite and helpful especially with the menu items.
We ordered two kinds of Gobis - Gobi 65 (cauliflower) and Gobi Paneer (a type of fresh cheese),Poori Bhaji and Butter Roti with dip.
The Gobis were absolutely delicious, both are coated in spiced orange coating and deep fried. The result was crunchy and tasty starters.
The Butter Roti was a bit oily but tastes great especially with the dip made of spices, chillis and paneer cubes.
The Poori Bhaji was crispy and HUGE. Just one is enough for two of us. The chickpea dip that came with it had spices but was mild compared to the roti dip.
Overall, It was so good that I did not even care that I ate no meat for dinner. Will surely come back.
The taste of south Indian in the desert land was unexpected. The taste was nice, so was the ambiance. It's pure veg so it is quite uncommon here.
Good place...nice ambience...vegetarian...helpful staff.
Ordered rava masala dosa...it was yum and crispy.
I have already visited their branch in CP, India...same taste and same quality.
I highly recommend this place.
This is my weekend breakfast location almost once in every month.. located in Madinat Zayed Shopping Mall food court area, there is plenty of seating options..
Personal favorites - filter coffee, puri bhaji and kesari bath
Not so fond of their idli's a bit too big/ fat for my liking.. however, their mini tiffin is awesome and worth the price..
One of my most favorite south indian veg food joints.
Saravanaa bhavan name is enough.
They serve mouth watering dosa and other south indian delicacies.
You must try their sweets.
I had order onion utappa and idlis from this place via Zomato.
Both the delicacies were well prepared and packed.. overall a good place to have a South Indian breakfast..
Been here few times, good south Indian food, service has improved. I love their hot dosa varieties served with different tasty chutney and sambar really yummy
A cozy dining place in the busy Madinat Zayed shopping centre, they serve vegetarian dishes which are worth the try. The price are a bit pricey than the usual indian food, but it's worth
a vegetarian restaurant shop inside madinat zayed shopping center at foodcourt area. my husband and i been curious on this restaurant for a long time, to what this place has to offer that can satiate our palate. not until today when we decided to dine here. servers were so assistive and helpful especially upon ordering, since its an indian cuisine. The server ensures to explain all our query regarding the foods we ordered. but without any regret, we enjoyed all the food we ordered which had been so cheap and worthy of its price.
Saravana bhavan...a name...a brand very famous for its vegetarian dishes....i have been ardent fan for its branches in chennai...i was expecting similar taste for its abu dhabi branch...but for my disappointment it was not to expected mark...dishes were too salty, flavours was missing, and ofcourse crispiness of dishes were not there....and i stopped there..but again being a foodie i tried lately with them last week and i find them improving..but still way to go compared to other brand restaurants and i still believe they can improve....and for variety they have a lot to choose from but on taste still needs improvement.....
Excellent dosas and lovely mango lassi. Lots of good places for dosas in this area, but this one the best so far for the dosa itself! Sauces that come with the dosa also excellent. Highly recommended and lots of other yummy looking dishes and specials.
Nice dining.....Friendly staff....have to wait if there's rush....
Dosa items are good....loved Paneer Dosa. .....it makes ur stomach full...
Been to quite a few locations, in UAE and outside as well.
Like this place - decent portions, food tastes good (i judge South Indian restaurants by their dosas andrhe masal dosa was great), huge area so seating is generally not a problem.
Very popular place, sometimes you have to wait a bit for your food.
Recommend.
A friend and I were came here for thalis. The thalis came really fast and was delicious, moreover it was unlimited. Would definitely like to try some of their other dishes.

Pure vegetarian restaurant. The taste from south india is here.Big family restaurant with reservation sections.I would recommend all dosa variety and Filter coffee.☕️
Popular restaurant for simple, good and wholesome south Indian food. Their dosas and filter coffee are highly recommended. Service is a bit slow though.
Food: one of the best location to have south Indian food. Quality and tastes are authentic.
Location: Located at mall so good for shopping and entertainment access
Service: can you please start prepaid service? I was not done with my food and table was not cleared and the guy was presenting the bill. Not at all good gesture.
0 points for service.
Claimed as world's no. 1 veg restaurant, this chain has many branches all over the world. Basically a Tamil Nadu restaurant, which serves south & north Indian and Chinese dishes. Specialist in south Indian food, don't expect much from other two.
Mostly visited by those who want to eat south Indian meals or dosa.
A south Indian vegetarian restaurant , specially for all dosa lovers , its the heart spot for many south Indians living near by Madinat Zayed Mall , we been to dinner ,and for us it was the first time so unknowingly I ordered Business Meal , i was the only one who ordered rice that time had to wait some time to get the food , but my brave hubby ordered dosa which came in no time ; crispy, delicious dosa with generous amount of ghee and the sides too was good .
TIP : better visit on weekdays to enjoy your delicious food in a calm atmosphere, on weekends the crowd will be too high .
This place gets a 4.5 rating from my side only for their ghee masala dosa...its one of the best i have had anywhere in abu dhabi...Well made with 3 different varieties of chutney...and ofcourse the ghee on the dosa...the best part is they serve it anytime you go there unlike other restaurants where its only for breakfast and then evenings....One ghee masala dosa is enough to fill your stomach...If you happen to visit this place dont forget to try it out.
My Top spot for a South Indian Breakfast.. I was a regular to their Dubai Al Barsha outlet on Fridays and Today I took my wife for 1st time to their outlet in Abu Dhabi... you never feel soo good when you see those yummy, crispy and soulful masala dosa in front of you...
Conveniently located in Madinat zayed shopping center, this place is ALWAYS crowded. We havee visited this place several times and have tried the staple foods like dosa, idly, etc. Recently, we tried their gobi manchurian and kothu paratha and it was good. No complaints. Its a bit on the pricey side compared to other restaurants serving the same food, but its not bad overall.
Being a true chicken lover I rarely visit this place ,but whenever I visit this place I do not regret coming here . Whenever we have a craving for having South Indian food , this is where we reside ! It's an authentic tamilian restaurant and the food here gives us a feel of being in Tamil Nadu ! The quality of the food is good ! It has a very confined menu but the things available are good in its own way ! We had the South Indian thaali this time and it was good ! It was truly a pleasure to have the thaali and I cannot deny from appreciating it !
Saravanan Bhavan at Madina Zayed is a pure vegetarian Indian restaurant, quality of food is good and food here taste same like food in the streets of India. Pricing is very economical and offer a great value for money. A great option for low budget vegetarian Indian meal.

Love the food, they should open online orders. Their dry fruit milk shake is to die for! Always a great place to have a good veg thali. Pls have online bookings
The restaurant is located on the top most floor of the Madinat Zayed complex, above Lulu hypermarket. It's pretty easy to locate on the floor.
They are usually open early for breakfast and have the usual vegetarian fare served fresh and hot.
Service is acceptable, as it is almost never crowded during breakfast so there is always someone to take your order and look after the table without delays.
We visit regularly (at least once a week) for a dose of excellent vegetarian food.
The vades are served crispy, fresh and hot whilst the dosa range is not extensive, they have a reasonable variety of the regular variants. All of which are quite filling and great for breakfast.
They do a seriously good Chai and milk coffee, served the traditional Indian street way! With a small cup and another to cool your tea down to drinkable state! Loved it.
Prices are quite reasonable and are good on the pocket too.
Definitely recommended
Nice south Indian food some of are we authentic test of South India Maysure Masala Dosa, Idly, Bisibalibhaat, Mix dryfriut shake too good.... When ever I came Abu Dhabi I like to this place to have south Indian food...
We love Saravanaa Bhavan everywhere. They have a variety of south Indian dishes to offer. Most of them are good. They have a few chinese and north Indian dishes too. But they are good at the South Indian fare.
Ambience is good however the tables are set very close and gives a congested feel. The service is very quick. Staff mainly converse in tamil but they manage to understand what you want.
Never been to saravanaa. Always heard of it. But i got the chance to eat my sunday breakfast here. Everything was beyond expectations. Just yum.
Yummy dosas..and filter coffee jus awsome...! I love only 2 places in abu dhabi for typical good indian food- Saravana Bhavan and The Favourite Restaurant in Abu dhabi. Best food and no regret!
Nice restaurant located in mussafah also first time I know about dry fruit dosa in this restaurant & eat it quiet different taste. good for vegetarians.
This is one of the very few places in the area to have good vegetarian good. The place is nice, quite and cozy. Food and service is of regular saravanaa bhavan standard.
The best South Indian veg restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Ghee roast and vada is delicious. Must try filter coffee. big dining area. very good and clean service.
One of the best ever South Indian veg restaurant I must say. Even its breakfast, lunch or sweets they serve I am quite satisfied by the taste. Been to this chain of restaurants from last 10 years right from Ooty days.
Being a South Indian once in a while you definitely get the cravings for South Indian delights and the goto place is Saravana which a house hold tradition back there in your place.
Well we all know they have spread their wings globally and it was not hard for us to find one on Abu Dhabi . So this time it was Gobi 65 , idly and Mysore Masala Dosa, Spinach Dosa.
The food was heavenly, No doubts everything was perfect and well balanced, Idli's were soft, Sambar was amazing and Dosas were crispy and well done. So all said and done one believes this place I'll deserve a 5 on 5 for their food which apparently is but their service is a different question.
Our starter came first then the next dishes didn't appear and after inquiring twice we are told they were waiting for us to finish the starter which makes me think what if we are slow eaters and decided to finish the starter for hours, makes me wonder if there is rule book to finish the starter ASAP. I also found arguments on few other tables and the people who were serving food were not at their best behaviors.
Along with the excellent food if they pay attention to the customer service then they will be on top of their game.
I love south Indian food. Any my reviews will be biased over here.
Saravana is a huge brand back home and I am glad its here .My go to place to satiate my rasam & sambar cravings.
I always go for the meals , and have tried the dosas as well. I love all the items in the meals and the chutneys they provide with the dosas.
One thing to highlight is their interiors are done well. Where it doesnt look like a typical Indian eatery. I have taken a punjabi friend of mine and she couldn't stop raving (Her first south indian cuisine experience).
The sarvanaa bhavan at Barsha 1 and this was visited by me. Not much change in the standard or taste.
Its value for money and a must must try for south Indian food.
Breakfast lunch and dinner outing for authentic South Indian food, your go to place is here! The most famous chain of restaurants back in India, they've stayed true to their roots. The food is always amazing at this outlet. The service depends on how crowded the restaurant is. If you're eating at Saravana Bhava, make sure you have something with the Sambar here. Their sambar is delicious. Also the kesari you get here, has an amount of ghee but at the same time it's rich and soft.
Overall, pocket friendly, good service and good food.
My favourite South Indian restaurant chain, I've tried this place out in various cities in UAE and India, but the quality never varies.
It's quite ordinary ambience wise, but this branch had particularly nosy waiters, and they weren't very efficient either.
Food wise: all the dosas, and the different kinds of chutney, are a stand out! Filter coffee enthusiasts are definitely in for a treat. Everything else is pretty good too, but I'm not the biggest fan of their uttapam.
For any South Indian food cravings ever, just go here, it's the best place for a good budget meal.
Authentic south indian snacks served by very own south indian staff..
Service is bit slow but food quality and quantity are both good..
Idli, dosa and aviyal were excellent..
Wada was stone cold..
Coffee at the end made the day..
Be prepared to wait in que on thursday night and fridays..
But if u are longing for South Indian snacks then the place is worth the wait..
P.S. please enquire whats hot before ordering
Good place for breakfast and snacks. The masala dosa is good but can't figure out why the medu varas are served with a sprinkling of raw onions. Service is slack and sometimes the food is pretty cold.
Went for dinner with friends as we were in mood of Chat and Thali. It was a little early so the restaurant was empty. We ordered a papdi chat and thali for ourselves. The chat was ok, not too good as it only had papdi and less amount of chickpeas in it. It would have been much better if they had added dumplings (pakode) in it. The thali was bang on. We instantly fell in love with the thali as it arrived and our love only grew as we took the first bites of everything on the thali. From the fresh hot puri to the tasty sabzi and rasam and what not. Everything was delicious. The halwa too was good. Our thali cravings met justice. Can't wait to visit again. Keep up the good work👍
They only deliver from 6pm onwards. have eaten in the restaurant couple of times all good no complaints, my favourite are the devilled potatoes and their juices are nice.
5 out 5 just for the Sambar.. And it's not a one time wonder.. Consistently good.. Will try to have a recurring calendar event - Friday breakfast till I get bored..
Saravanaa Bhavan needs no introduction to South Indian food lovers. the hospitality here is at par with what the tamilians are known for. It's not just the Masala Dosa, for a change you can try their excellent mix veg porotta. Please refrain from ordering any North Indian Dishes. I tried their aloo paratha and I wouldn't recommend it. Service is quick. Be very clear of what you order as language is definitely a barrier between you and your steward/ attender.
On the way out your may also want to pack some Sweet ( like ghee mysore pak) or savoury ( like muruku)
We thought the restaurant will be as of the same standard as of chennai branch but to my disappointment it wasn't the same. We ordered ghee dosa, masala dosa and tea. All were average not as per the expectations.
Nice place to have south Indian food.
Loved their masala dosa very crispy and filter coffee👌👌👌
Their uttapa and meduvada are OK.
I liked their sambar and chutneys which were available in different flavours ....
But one disappointment is that their staffs roam around you unnecessarily
If I want some decidedly superior quality dosa, puri the size of a basketball 😂 and some masala chai for all under Dhs30, i go to Saravanaa Bhawan.
My friend and I were craving dosa so we decided to hit this place up as none of the other outlets in the food court looked that appetizing. We ordered a Masala dosa and one plain dosa. The dosas were quite good.
Service was quick and friendly. Also, I really like the classy furniture this place had. We got a nice seat by the window. I wouldn't say it was the best dosa I've tasted but it was pretty good.
I went this restaurant alone.because i was too hungry n tired of eating outside food.i made plan in madina zayed sarvana bhavan n i order rice thali.had some lentils n curries with that.i enjoyed poori n rasam.price was 18 aed.n i was full.it is good restaurant i will go again
By far the best south Indian restaurant in Abu Dhabi. .. don't let anyone else tell you different. .. their dosas are the best and the thalis are among the best... my weekend breakfast place...
I have visited a lot of times to saravana it's a good place it has good taste. 🍥🍣🍔🍟🍗🍣🍡🍲🍖🍰🍞🍔🍥🍹🍖🎂🍆🍓🍉🍒🍐🍯🍎🍑🍊🍅🍉🍎🍢🍲🍭🍧🍞🍳🍩🍛🍤🍚🍜🍹🍷🍻🍺🍷🍴🍕🍖🍝
A very good place for a family outing and if a pure vegetarian restaurant. Saravanaa bhavan has quiet a reputation and hence didnt have to think twice to eat here.
The idli and medu wada here are very good and idlis very soft, do try all its chutneys which they offer with your idli or dosa.
Apart from the idli and dosas one of my favourite here is the sheera-loaded with ghee (good enough to send your diet out of the window) but definitely worth a try.
They also offer chinese but its best if you just stick to the indian side of the menu.
The service is very quick and not too heavy on the walet too.
Cost for 2-50AED

Great location, great food, great service. In short, must visit for all south Indian food lovers. Lots of variety. I tried different dishes every time I was there. Most of the dishes are teasty.
I had the best dosa of Abu Dhabi here. Their kara dosa and faluda is lip smacking good. I also ordered paneer 65 but that was not upto the mark. They have great variety of idlis too. Except South Indian they also serve chinese, pav bhaji, chole bhature ,biryanis and amazing filter coffee. This place is really crowded and hence sometimes the service is slow.
It is one of our regular haunts for South Indian food .its rava masala soda and Mysore masala dosa are really yummy .the place is clean and now a days service is also quick #bbcgfsdxb #inuae
Definitely recommended for veg south indian food
Was in abu dhabi on work purpose and visited Sarvanaa Bhavan (SB) during lunch time. Since we went after 1400 hrs the place was not very crowded and seating was instant. My colleagues ordered veg meals and i wanted to avoid veg meals (so that i do not doze off in the post lunch meetings) & hence ordered rawa dosa masala. Surprisingly my order came in prior to the meals & the dosa was well prepared and the chutneys were yummy and went for second helpings for the chutneys. My colleagues were in full praise for the meals and it reflected during the meetings we had post lunch :)Service was just ok & pricing was reasonableSuggested to visit if you are in the vicinityTill then Happy Eating & Happier Living ...
Good for vegetarian varieties. Simple and delicious. Meals are very good. Love the curd vada and filter coffee. Puri and other normal food prepared in a delicious way.
Indian, authentic, vegetarian. Visit only if you have a ample time to wait for the order. True south Indian cuisine. Try special thali. It's huge and tasty.
Great Food, Great Ambiance, Good Service and Value for Money. Even a meat-o-holic like me loves the joint for its authentic south Indian dishes.
The must try is the Ghee roast Dosa and their Filter Coffee. (sometimes I feel their coffee is better than Starbucks and Costa put together)
Must try for every one all their options re vegetarian but almost all dishes are tasty.
Simply done up place with practical seating. We had ordered Saravanaa special meals & Masala Dosa . The meal /thali was nice especially Rasam & cluster bean poriyal . The color of all gravy items was same which could be changed to make it more eye appealing. Masala Dosa was nice especially the chutneys accompanying it. Worth going for veg south Indian meal
the best veg restaurant u feel like having anytime u go out..... i loved the thali here with varieties of gravies and sweet dish at last should try the coffee completes the meal.... me and my friend even tried the paneer manchurian semy gravy liked it too.... good one for snacks as well an evening chat would be best
I went to sarvana Bhavan a couple of days ago with my husband. We ordered a Paneer dosa, a Rava Masala Dosa and Medu vada.In drinks I ordered a mango lassi. The food is exceptionally good, all the items were very yummy. The Chutneys accompaining the dosas were also very delicious, infact i asked for more tomato Chutney. The service is very fast. The lassi however tasted like a mango shake instead of lassi. The only thing which I disliked is that they brought our bill even before we had finished with our😐. To sumup I would say that, its an economical, vegetarian restaurant with yummy food. I will definitely be going back to try more food.
Saravanaa is a well known name for south indian cuisine. Hence I am not surprised that the service and quality of the food is upto the mark. I'll highly recommend their Paper Masala Dosa with a hint of Ghee or the Business Lunch.
PULSED PROTEIN PUNCH: UTTAPAM is South India's prequel to Pizza made with protein rich Urad Dahl, topped with tomatoes, onion, chillies, capsicum and cabbage; accompanied with a variety of lentil based sambar; quenched with a tall cool glass of Lassi - Yogurt drink. രുചികരമായ ആഹാരം !!!
Great Food, Great Ambience, Good Service and Value for Money and of all a great range of choice for vegetarians makes Saravanaa Bhavan a Vegeterian Foodie's Paradise.
The Dosa's and Thali are the best and is a must try.
To be honest, I just love the variety of chutney's you get when you order even a plain dosa. The chutney is definately Saravanaa Bhavan's trump card.
The Thali is Filling and has many dishes and the rasam is OUT OF THE WORLD.
THIS PLACE IS A MUST TRY FOR ALL VEGETARIANS
Just the second time here and ordered masala dosa. The food was delicious and so was the tea. This is our go to place to satisfy our masala dosa craving. The mixed vegetable porotta was also good.
An authentic south Indian joint with no nonsense ambience! If you are looking for anything else...not the place to be. The dosas idlis uthapams are all delicious in every variety! Love the different chutneys they serve other than the regular coconut chutney. Not a big fan of the sambhar though. With the north Indian fare..it's sheer luck..plus can get a tad bit oily. Great for quick attentive service best if you are short on time and there for a quick breakfast / brunch or evening snacks! I wish they opened another outlet in Abu Dhabi though!
Went today for a much needed South Indian dinner. Like always, their ghee roasts are amazing! Saravanaa Bhavan has never let down their customers on the quality of the food served. The vada's were unusually steaming hot. A very scrumptous meal, to be honest. The only downside is the long queues and the shortage of seats.
Talk about South Indian food in abu dhabi and sarvanaa bhavana will surely knock your mind. This famous chennai based restaurant serves the best south indian food out here in abu dhabi. The thali was absolutely a top notch meal and the taste, flavour and everything just reminds one of south india :D So visit this place and grab a bite :D
*Serves the best south indian food in Abu Dhabi
*Yummy dosas and vadas
*it's coffee is something which should not be missed..
*Wonderful place with good ambience and clean surroundings
So far... Good healthy breakfast ... actually surprised to find same taste as home .... keep it up ... opted for home delivery... Good packing of food.. Overall it's good.
Yesterday I been Sarvana Bhavan to have some south Indian food and i had Paneer Dosa really amazing and chutneys were so tasty.
Must go and eat south Indian food ..
South Indian food at its best ! Had a masala dosa and filter coffee .. Oooh the feeling of satisfaction :) u cannot go wrong with saravavaa Bhavan
Nice ambience , quick and efficient staff
Perfect place for the best vegetarian south indian food. Had dahi papdi chaat. One of the best chaats I ever had. Good service. Reasonable price. They serve the best dosas in town
Fresh food, fast service, excellent south indian filter coffee.
south indian food at its best.
can't go wrong!
PS-recommend the ghee roast masala dosa and onion utthapam.
I have never dined at the Abu Dhabi outlet of Saravanaa Bhavan, but I often go here to have their special coffee (I get take-out). My entire family loves it, it's simply amazing! Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a post-meal drink.
The restaurant looks nice and clean. I can't comment on the service as I haven't experienced it. The menu is the same throughout all their locations.
I go there every weekend fr breakfast and the food here is amazing. Love the masala dosa and pongal vada. D mini tiffin is also very good here. If you go there you must try the filter coffee. But make sure u tell them no sugar or less sugar. Their North Indian food is also of great quality. The prices are affordable. It is a must try food joint and has a wide range of options.

Been here 3 times to be exact, I love the Dosa, one of my Indian cuisine faves, they also serve Pani Puri, I love, too! Good place to dine with your family or friends.
Best place to have south indian food especially the dosas and chutneys are simply superb. Their taste remains the same irrespective of their outlet in any country which is their trademark.
All i can say about Sarvanaa Bhavan is the best south indian food you can get in Abu Dhabi.
Superb is the right word to describe.
Filter coffee typically south indian style which my favourite.
Decent food, haughty service sums up the place. Conveniently located in the Madinat Zayed Lulu food court, it has spacious seating, but you rarely get the chance to choose your seating unless you are visiting on a week-day for an early dinner. Standard fare of idlis and dosas are good. Lunch thali is also nice. If the staff stop acting so dictatorial and haughty, the experience would be a lot better.
Best South Indian breakfast! A must to try.
Lovely South Indian food. Best part is that their chutneys and sambar are all thick and flavourful unlike many other restaurants where it is so watery. I love the masala dosa and tomato onion uthappam. The mini sambar idlys are also a delightful snack. The prices are also so reasonable. Weekends are super crowded which is why I prefer coming here during the weekdays.
I was one of the first bloggers in the UAE to interview the co-founder of Zomato. And finally I have now got around to writing my first review here.
Saravanaa Bhavan can be crazy busy on weekends so we visited on a weekday and early for dinner.
You see the live kitchen through a glass wall so we sat where we could get a good view.
I asked the server what he would recommend and he pointed to the most expensive item in the menu - the Saravana Special Thali.
The waiter could hardly explain in English what the contents were so we took the plunge anyway. It turned out to be quite enough for my better half (see photo). The sabzi and the pooris were delicious.
For our little girl who is 4+ we ordered Idli as per her request and she liked it. Idlis (steamed rice cakes) were soft and delicious. She got to the food before I could take a photo.
I asked for a dosa that has some spice and got 'Kara Dosa' which had was also soft and full of spicy mashed potato filling - triangular in shape.
We also ordered Onion Uttapam which was ample too, and had I loads of onion chunks sprinkled over it. Enough to satiate one person.
The dosa, idli and uttapam came with their own set of chutneys - which were superb and added a zing to the taste.
To top it all up, I ordered Madras Filter Coffee hoping to show my wife how it is served in a glass upside down - but it arrived in a glass inside another bowl, not upside down. And dripping too. Not classy at all. The taste of the coffee was 'wokay'.
Now, the service. Many issues. The waiter we got had a very hard time understanding us in English and in answering our questions. Another one just kept standing or hovering right next to or table which makes a family dinner very uncomfortable.
While leaving, I asked at the cash counter if they had a Facebook page and the cashier kept insisting I should tell him what the problem is. There was no problem - I just wanted to check them out online. But it seems he is only used to customers asking for these things if they want to complain.
We had their special thali loaded with stuff, idli, dosa, uttapam, coffee and a bottle of water and it all cost just around 50 dirhams.
If one ignores the weak service, and the less than squeaky clean cutlery and crockery, the food is good value for money.
The really good stuff was the sabzi in the thaali, and the chutneys!
For a peaceful experience, try to go on a weekend.
So there... I have just completed my first review at Zomato and look forward to your feedback and comments.

Great place for a quick South Indian Thali meal. excellent food and amazing value for money.
Most of the stuff in the menu is good but the Thali is the star.
Gets packed and extremely noisy on weekends. good wait staff and friendly service. @⚽
With no clue on what to do for dinner, i was taking a walk. Walked through the Madinat Zayed as there was a food court there. Saw Saravanaa & wanted to check it out - the quintessential south Indian chain. I should say this - it is one of the best chains for south indian food with standardization levels exceedingly good across locations.
I was there on a week day and fairly early in the evening. The place was empty and the service was very good. Having seen a horror review about the service, it was a pleasant surprise that the service was good and in line with the usual Saravanaa standards across other locations (have been to at least 4 outlets in chennai plus in qatar, kuwait, dubai and bahrain).
The quality of food was good and it was great to have attentive service. My personal favourite is Masala Milk which I thought was a bit lower in standard compared to other locations. The smaller pieces make it difficult and led to a coughing fit as some pieces got stuck in the throat.
Any day, one of the best joints for quick, clean, tasty and standardized south indian fare. They also have buffets for breakfast and lunch on week days which is a big plus.
The ambience of this particular outlet was very good. More outlets should be of this standard for saravanaa.
I used to go there literally everyday since my friend is a vegetarian.. And moreover I office is nearby too... Restaurant is on the top floor of madinet zayed shopping center located differently from the food corners... Food is good ., typical Tamil food .. Good customer service and really fast food .. We didn't had to wait for long to get hot thali meal .. Price is ok too . I truly recommend if you are looking for some Indian vegetarian food.
This is by far the best veggie/vegan restaurant in the capital. If I were to dine or order, I was never disappointed. The diversity on the menu has always been confusing but it's maybe because I'm not very familiar with the cuisine.
They do a good job with what they are good at. Sooper South Indian food. However if u order North Indian food here, it's your mistake :) wud frequent this place whenever the taste buds crave for some idli vada dosa and sambar.
Overall awesome food. if ur craving for your filter coffee fix..this is the place to head to.. or order home!!
مطعم نظيف ومتنوع انصح الجميع بتجربته وخاصة لمحبين الاكل النباتي
