Mexican cuisine began about 9,000 years ago when the agricultural community - Mayan Indians formed. Mayans introduced corn, wild game, and tropical fruits to Mexicans and taught Maize Nixtamilization (a process for the preparation of maize (corn), or other grain, in which the corn is soaked and cooked in an alkaline solution, usually limewater. This process is known to remove up to 97–100% of aflatoxins from mycotoxin-contaminated corn.). In the mid-1300s, the Aztec Empire introduced chilli, peppers, honey, salt, and chocolate. Spanish invaded Mexico in 1500 and introduced Livestock - Sheep, pigs, and cows into Mexican cuisine and started producing Rice on Mexican lands. Mexican cuisine is an essential aspect of the culture, social structure, and popular traditions of Mexico and result of invasions and indigenous traditions. For these reasons, in 2010, traditional Mexican cuisine was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
With such a diverse and multi-historical facet, Mexican Food leaves a substantial impact on the mind when tasted in the authentic eatery. Amerigos is such a place which represent Mexican Food as it is. Lipsmacking grills, appetisers, and sides are worth trying in Amerigos in unaltered form. Food cooked by a Mexican chef with use of apt Mexican spices and chilis gives you the authentic dining experience in Amerigos. Utterly hospitable staff with prompt service makes the dining hasslefree. Do experience their Meatgrills night to enjoy the traditional, affordable, and apportionable grill combos with good sides and gratifying beverages.
The sequence of service is a bit objectionable as we got the Sides before appetisers and main course, but that can be, willingly, treated as Amuse Bouche even if the host didn't inform such change beforehand. The consistency in service is remarkable but such minute operational flaw in a reputed eatery can make a big difference when you are paying for food and service.
Such a fun place for a brunch. Extensive menu that makes you drink less and eat more! Great atmosphere and full of life. Done this brunch a couple of times and would love to do it again. It’s on the entertainer too which is a plus! Everyone needs to try this brunch !
Had a fantastic time at the famous Amerigos Brunch today with the family.
Great ambiance, fantastic food, super friendly staff, great service and fantastic value for money.
We went with the non alcohol package and loved the choice of virgin cocktails that came with this.
The food is excellent, small selection of salads some great starters and a huge selection of mains.
We loved the Tortilla Soup, the Calamari Rings and Sweet Potato Fried were to die for and loved the Tacos.
In the mains they had a lovely selection of grilled chicken, lamb steaks, ribs roasted leg of lamb with Cilantro Rice, Black beans and Veg Fajita all superb
The highlights were the Guacamole, the Lamb Roast, Cilantro Rice and the myriad of different Salsas.
Great selection of dessert as well, from Ice Cream Tacos to Churros and some lovely milk puddings.
Buzzing ambiance made it interesting and service was spot on.
