Mind blowing dessert bar with a high chocolate fondue station! Special compliments from the Chef was the Japanese cake and it was one of the best light cakes we have ever had!
We were there for thursday dinner buffet, and we loved it.The lobster was the star of the night.And their dessert spread was too good. Only negative comment would be that, water should be included in the buffet.

Great selection of buffet dinner with appetiser, main course and desert. Easy redemption with entertainer is definitely a plus too. Been dining in many times, never disappoint. Just that the food selection varies between nights, would definitely recommend Monday seafood night. The lobster can be slow serve sometimes 🤔 the laksa is not authentic but good try 🤗

they also have a nice grills corner, a Moroccan corner, sushi and an indian section.
For desert the waffle area really stands out but you can also find the traditional Um ali, pudding and sweets.

We really enjoyed our time in Sofra Bld. The food quality was upto mark & every thing was freshly made. They have a good variety of live stations which adds upto the no. of choices made available. We will definately come back again since it was worth coming all the way from Dubai.

We decided to try out tonight judging by the high rating. The ambience is good and a great view of the sheikh zayed grand mosque along the sea view.
Our order comprised of nasi gorengo and lamb arayes. Both items were nicely done. We were also offered complimentary soup and salad.

After a long time, we went to Sofra’s Friday brunch: I had forgotten how fabulous this place is! It feels nice just to be there. From the decor, to the rich array of food and the staff.....Everything was great.I would like to mention Eljon, our section’s waiter, who tended to every table, and cleared plates very quickly with a smile.

We decided to have our team outing at Sofra for sea food themed night,this was my 2nd visit. Lobster was very good one of the best. All the items in buffet were tasty, however couldn’t taste the fish grilled ,was already full. There was lobster in sauce which was very tasty. Desserts were quite normal nothing special. Nice buffet overall will surely go again. Didn’t take photos however took a videos some of the pictures posted are screenshots of the video sorry for that.

We went for buffet dinner on a Wednesday and it was nice that they accept Entertainer.
Restaurant itself looks great, spacious and elegant. Food was incredible. So many choices for salads, starters, soups, pastas, main dishes (indian, arabic mostly) and grills (chicken, beef, lamb, seafood, fish). All food was great and tasty. Dessert was really colorful and delicious. Many types of cakes and ice cream, they had even waffles, pancake and crepes station. There were many types of cheese also, I didn't try it because I was already full, but looked good.
Staff was perfect, they cleaned all the time our table in no time. Only one disadvantage I should mention, that the buffet doesn't include any drinks at all. At least water should be available.
Overall all was great so I think that we will try again some time for lunch or dinner.

We visited Sofra at Thursday dinner when they have an Arabic theme for the dinner.
The dinner start from 6 pm till 11 pm. You are advised to book by the phone before you go as some days they are fully booked.
We arrived there by 7 pm, the restaurant was still empty, but by 8 it was crowded and all tables are booked, with a lot of companies events are organized here.
The food was have a lot of varieties, from Yamani, Lebanese, Turkish, Moroccan, Indian, Mix Grills, live Seafood grilling station. The only thing that was common between those dishes, is that all of were very delicious and great. The dessert also were great.
The only comment I have here, is by 9 - 9:30 pm most of the dishes were almost empty and they didn't refill it... That was OK for us as we arrived early and that was the time for dessert, but take care and don't come for a late dinner here.
The parking was a complimentary from the hotel.

Sofra lunch on a Wednesday is arabic themed. its totally worth it! Fresh seafood, and lovely arabic food, i loved Turkish chicken and beryani rice! Laham tikka is my fave or beef skewers. Um ali dessert. The chocolate cake is nice and the Almond Tart is to die for! Restaurant staff were really nice! Thanks for having us!

Went there for dinner buffet on Saturday to celebrate my mom’s birthday and the theme was Asian night. There were so many varieties of food. Salads were amazing and the sushi awesome! Really enjoyed the self-serve frozen yogurt station, chocolate fountain was not good though, very watery and tastes nothing like chocolate (would expect better). Would have preferred that water or soft beverages were offered for the price paid. Staff were very very nice and friendly except for the (supervisor?).
Thursday was a seafood and steak night! Different varieties of dishes. Perfect food and ambiance. I can only suggest to have a brighter light. It was dim and its hardly difficult to take nice selfies and photos without a good lighting. Main courses and desserts of all kind was mouthwatering. Highly recommend to visit always on a Thursday for the themed night! Bec after all who doesn't love seafoods😍😍😍

They’ve got this fancy frozen yoghurt self serve machine as well, served in waffle cones :) dessert- toooo many options, but then there really is no such thing as too many desserts 😀

I have been there a couple of times and found their service and food variety constantly good! The service is good as well. Take a Groupon voucher with you and you'll be having very good value for money! The location is obviously very easy to reach with the premium valet of any other 5 stars hotel... in my opinion the rating should be more 3.5 rather than 4, because the sushi, seafood and meat cuts variety can be better.

Seafood night must try atleast once as it is one of the best in town . Ambience is the best swimming pool and sea view and food there is arabic, western, indian and overall rate it 5 .no words its just a journey for love of food.
Lovely experience, great buffet with wide variety especially the dessert section. Great service by khalifa! My only concern was that the choco date dessert finished early and wasn't available afterwards. Rest everything was on point

I’ve been into a lot of buffet restaurants here in Abu Dhabi but nothing compares to the quality of food and service that Sofra has to offer. The brunch buffet is on top of the line and one will get lost on the variety of food. I must say that each meal were prepared meticulously and with class that made them the best restaurant in town. All the sections that I’m looking for that the other competitors were lacking are all in here. The oysters are to die for! Definitely will come back to this place!

We stayed during St Patricks Day and had breakfast here. I love that you can see the honey wax, they are juicing different fruits. They have seperate chinese cuisine with all the dumplings & dimsum, arabic and continental. They also have chocolate fountain fo desserts and sorbet.
So, my sister was feeling generous and took us to have a family dinner at Sofra Bld. If you don’t already know me, and I mention going to a dinner buffet, 9 times out of 10, you’d find me hanging out at the desserts section. 🤣
The quality of food is divine and the ambiance is very calm, inviting with terrific view! It is worth the price. It's a must try especially during Mondays with Seafood - international Theme.
One of the best in town. One is lost among the varieties available there. I had been here twice during Ramadan for iftar as part of business dinners. The desserts are awesome.

If you want a quality buffet, the Sofra Bid is a must try. Althought expensive but it will surely bring your tastebuds to a highier level. The seafood was good and cooked well. The beef is cooked well too. We will definitely return here. The staff are accomodating and very well organized. Keep it up.
The best buffet I've had! They had a wide spread of food from sushi to biryani to steak and sea food. Loved their live station for seafood! Their dessert collection is pretty impressive too. The food was tasty as well. Ambience of the restaurant was okay. But walking around the Shangri la hotel was really pleasant. This was my second visit and I would definitely be back again.

We always err on the side of caution when walking into a brunch with “award-winning” credentials. We have been victims of believing the hype on previous occasions and so have set unrealistic and sometimes unfair expectations on the restaurant which they nearly always fail to deliver on. We hoped that the Family Brunch at Sofra Bld would not fall victim to the same fate.
Went for buffet dinner with colleagues. Really good food and friendly staffs. And the view from the pool side is too good at night.

Ramadan vibes was excellent. Food variety was top notch, I loved how the buffet had different cuisines from Arabic to Asian to Moroccan. It's a bit pricy but worth it. Make sure you call and reserve a table, as it gets super crowded.
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous iftar experience at Shangri-La Hotel in Abu Dhabi. We arrived a few minutes before the prayer sounded to break the fast. I had a few minutes to settle in and enjoy the amazing view this hotel has to offer – across the waters you will see the Grand Mosque in all it’s glory with the sun setting in the background.
Great place to have a relaxed lunch / dinner with good variety of international cuisine. Had a buffet lunch which though had limited options for Indian cuisine but made it up for the taste and other vegetarian variety from salads and international cuisine. To top that it accepts entertainer vouchers which makes the offering more exciting :)

The place is very calm and quite. Nice view and food. The cherry on the cake is their Beef, amazing and fresh. Grill prawns and fish is delicious and yummy.

Great brunch option with very large variety of food , great grills , international menu , music and the staff of very friendly , would r commend it for any family brunch or to bring friends visiting from abroad , a bit pricy but certainly worth it

They have a different cuisine buffet every night.
They had gone for the seafood night with the entertainer coupon.
They had a variety of sushi ..but the soya sauce was terrible. It was not the normal soya sauce. It was a different kind and did not taste good
They had crabs lobster prawns oysters calamari everything you could imagine 😍
They had a nice sauce for all the food which tasted really good.
They also had an Indian section as well as an arabic section in the seafood night.
The staff was a little slow and to get something from them would take forever.
Most of the food were empty and they did not refill it either.
The fish was really good but most of them were over already. The chocolate fountain was over only caramel was there.
They had a crepe and waffles section too which was alright.
But the calamari should have been more cooked.

The outside seating is very nice especially at night with all the lights and having the grand mosque in the background ..great for pictures.

Waffles had great texture but the taste was so eggish like. I had to put lots of syrup to over come it. And surprisingly .. they had no Nutella to add on your waffles.
It's a good experience though and I would highly recommend to add the shrimps at least for the lunch buffet and fix the waffles thingy.
TIP: make sure you call before going there as they don't always have the lunch buffet.
My family and me had went to the fish night buffet. the food is so delicious. The service people are so nice and helpful. The place and decor are fantastic. The desert and the sweet are so tasty specially the ice cream. Evan it is the night of the sea food you must try the meat and the shawerma the prepare provide. Sushi is a totally different level even my family tried it for the first time and liked it.
If you want to take my advice you should try it.
OMG their international buffet is literally the best food I have had whilst dining out. The selections are diverse and they all taste incredible specially the desserts section. The menu changes everyday which is also a plus as if you can afford eating there daily you wont get bored of their menu. Highly recommended for a mukbang night out (Just eat your feelings and emotions away 😅😅)
Having a project early in the morning this place was our pit stop for breakfast. The staff were a bit difficult to give us a table outside since we were not hotel guests however me managed to pull through and enjoy their buffet. There was a variety of international food from breakfast cereal and break to Arabic mezzeh, grilled hammour and eggs. Overall a good experience, thank you having us!

So in love with the pastries, ice creams, and chocolate fountains!!! Every sushi a must try!!! Seafoods can be prepared according to ur liking. Pasta and salads are yummy too!! These are the calories i won't ever regret!! Definitely will come back!!! 😘
We've tried Sofra Bld for Friday lunch brunch. Their food variety was very good and quality was excellent. Also, the live music band was great they have added cheerful atmosphere. My only comment is that it was difficult to get waiters attention to order drinks or even the bill, however, this didn't create an issue for us considering that their staff were friendly and accommodating.
We still consider this buffet as the best in Abu Dhabi throughout 8 years stay. Large spread and lots of different variety of fresh seafood. Went there recently for my husband's birthday and though it's fully packed, the ambience is very lively and food is still good. Brought my kids specifically for the chocolate fountain- again, variety of dessert, cakes etc. Everyone should try!
One of the city's highly rated buffets for years in a row. Their buffet is famous and desired mainly for the 3 chocolate fountains, and has been this way for the past 6-7 years if I remember correctly. They have a large variety for selection when it comes to salads, seafood, mains, desserts, bread, cheese. They usually have different food stations such as seafood, Asian, International, Indian and Morrocan and their desserts are extremely presentable and satisfy your tastebuds. Their value for money is good for what they offer, although the last couple of times I was not as satisifed with the taste the way I used to be before.
The best buffet place I've been to in Abu Dhabi, by far. Wide selection of food while not sacrificing the quality! Seafood lovers will definitely come back for more, amazingly fresh and tasty! I usually hate buffets as food quality tends to be below the standard level. We went there for a Saturday brunch and I could say that it's one of the best buffet that I have been to in Abu Dhabi in terms of variety and quality. At the seafood section, they serve makkis, sashimis, oysters, among others and they were all fresh and tasty, the grillade section was also very rich and included various types of fish and they were all fresh and juicy. The Middle eastern section was nothing special, typical levant food. Also, the service was good. Overall price to value is fair. Would definitely revisit again.

Had dinner at Sofra bld the other night and I must say the place is absolutely A - mazing. I can't describe the food selection as many because it is beyond many. It was a good thing I decided to walk around each station before deciding to take my pick otherwise I would have been so full from the vast delectable goodies. Me and my friend can't stop from saying oh my, wow..and that's not because it was the first time we've been to a buffet but rather we were very happy with the kind / quality of seafood/meat/dessert/dishes available. The humongous lobsters tried to steal the show but I'm a carnivore so definitely my heart (and stomach) got glued to the wide variety of fresh and wonderful beef selection available for grilling. Actually I would have loved to just stay at that station. Ice cream was a wonderful treat and I am a person who will always have a space for ice cream no matter what. Service and ambiance - nothing negative at all.
The stations are well organized, the food is good and tasty, variety of sushi was fine, Lobster was the king of the buffet 👑 it was really very tasty as they add that Japanese sauce which is amazing... The other stations were so good as well.. For the service 5/5 the crew is professional, friendly.
I was there for dinner boufet with my wife. Decoration is really amazing. Food was average to very good. Livr stations is wow. Sweets not good at all. Appetizers are limited. Staff not so perfect and manager is rude. She left my while I'm talking to her.
Ambiance was great and the food was of high quality. Didn't like the Pasta Station but everything else was top-notch. Kebabs, Butter Chicken, Pizza, Hummus and the ice cream station were my favourties. Also, the view from outside was astonishing and it mainly for smokers and sheeshas .. but grand masjid looked out of this world.

Sofra bld, a buffet restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al-Beri is nothing short of a picture perfect scenery that is situated in the Khor Al Maqta area of Abu Dhabi, . The hotel sits right on the waterway with the capital’s sunset and majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in full view. As with previous visits during the Mixology with Cihan and the 1st birthday of P&C by Sergi Arola, the Shangri-La Hotel has become quite a fascination among the Abu Dhabi crowd and a slow addiction for me – which I am liking by the way!
Went for lunch with Office Staff. Very nice restaurant and great location with Pool View. Live Grills are Excellent but Very less varieties and not worth for the money.
One of the largest buffet in Abu Dhabi with lots of varieties and nice food. Price wise they are slightly higher than some other restaurants of its kind. If you are fan of large buffet with lots of selections in both main course and desserts than this is the place for you.
This time I happened to here this time on a seafood night, and it was absolutely fantastic. There were at least 5 different grilled fishes with lobster, crab, seafood broth, seafood biryani, seafood and seafood and seafood!!!! Would I go again? For sure.....

I got to try this lovely restaurant (and also visit Shangri La for the first time ever) thanks to a zomato invite. This place was showcasing their iftar menu and had invited a bunch of people - media, food bloggers as well as zomato for it. On entering the hotel, the lovely valet guy directed me to the restaurant (even came after me after I headed in the wrong direction). This place is in the hotel with a beautiful staircase just leading into it. Now this place had a massive seating area - indoor and outdoor. So to find the zomato table was quite a hassle as the waiters and waitresses only knew where the 'media' were sitting, and I did not see anyone I knew so it was even harder. Finally found someone (a fellow reviewer) at the buffet who told me where I could sit.
Anyway I sat at a table and already had a glass of water and fresh juice kept at my seat. The starters were really good - sushi, sashimi, salmon and fresh grilled prawns (all of these which were my favorite but if you are not a seafood person then I don't think there was much of a starter selection for you). When I went back for the main course I passed the dessert section which was bang in the centre of the place and it was MASSIVE. The biggest desert selection spread I had ever seen till date. It made me consider skipping mains and just diving into the sweets.
But since I wanted to try a bit of everything I went for mains and had mixed paella, a few meat dishes as well as indian curries and rice and pappad which were laid out. The selections for main also were quite a lot and pleasing to the eye. Another thing that I was amazed at was the fact that each and every dish would be restocked to the brim. Whether you are there at 8pm or 10:30 pm, the buffet was well stocked with food and they never seemed to run out. Which is great if you happen to arrive late.
By the time I made it to desserts I was already quite full but I had to try their cute tiny doughnuts, the mini cakes and cupcakes, the candy!!! I love when JELLY included in a dessert section. They also had a crepe station and an ice cream station. There was a white chocolate and normal chocolate fountain. I liked their bread pudding. I saw a green coloured desert and wanted to try it because of its appearance - im still not sure what was in it - maybe pistachios for the colour? But I think labels for the dishes would be a good touch just so that people know what they are eating and if they have any allergies it could warn them.
We also got to see the youngest Emirati Chef Bader showcase his ramadan desert which was in chocolate in a coffee cup shape and had coffee ice cream in it - it was beautiful and tasted really good. We had a waiter come around asking if we wanted wine towards the end of our meal which was great.
But the buffet was pretty good. The view from this place is quite magnificent - overlooking the beautiful Grand Mosque. Would I go back there and take my entire family to try out this place? YES. its a DEFINITE YES.
