If you don't want authentic Thai food, then don't come here. This place is top on my list for authenticity. It's got my vote for top Thai restaurant in Abu Dhabi. I grew up on Southeast Asian food, so I know what to expect. Buaban cook with such love, concern and passion that it shows in the presentation and the taste. I highly recommend this place. Great food, great ambiance and very friendly and thoughtful staff. Thank you Buaban!

First of all, I'm Thai and love to come here as its so authentic. The owner, Khun Bauban cooks and creates her menu by passion . It's consistency , service ,the ambience and the price are by far the best in Abu Dhabi . Don't forget to try Japanese section , it's so yum !!! Highly recommend!

This is the place where I fell inlove with sushi, I had not been very keen on it but when I tried Bua's roll sushi I was blown away!! It is the BEST! I will bring all my friends and family over there because they must taste this absolutely delicious food! The staff is also very friendly, it is my favorite place to dine in Abu Dhabi!

I booked the table for my boss leaving do dinner. We tried the sushi specialities. It was magnificent. The fresh ingredient and fusion taste combine. It's mouth watering sushi that you ever taste in Abu Dhabi. The Thai were not much options mostly main popular Thai dishes but I am sure the chef can accommodate your request. The ambient is very cosy and lively with open kitchen for sushi and bartender. We had entertain by Khun Nok, the owner/chef herself. All my guests were absolutely delight and happy. Many thanks for the complimentary dishes and the warm welcome services you provide us. It's the definitely! we will be back to taste more delicious sushi and Thai dishes.

Absolutely fantastic!!! We tried the sushi and the Thai food ramadan specials and fell in love! The manager/chef and staff overall provided service with a smile � It felt like upscale Thailand! Our new go-to place for sure!

Last night hubby and i went for dinner to Bua's kitchen (as i still like to call it!) and wow! we were blown away. The decor of her newly opened Thai Bistro & Sushi is elegant, classy and very comfortable. Very professional and attentive staff that anticipate the customers needs with genuine care and passion for what they do. Well, and the food, what can i say about the food....The finest ingredients, all still personally handpicked by Bua herself, fabulous taste and aroma, as well as very generous portions! Best Thai and sushi! Absolutely delicious, fresh and flavorful. I love the soup, the fresh rolls, the salmon ceviche, the choo chee salmon and the pad thai. Great place for group lunches or dinners as you can pre-arrange a set menu and try a bit of everything.

We were a group of friends and family,and tge hotel staff were extremely cooperative in suggesting and delivering non spicy vegan dishes.Their service is highly commendable. Though the starter Bua's roll was ok but the main course dishes tasted good and the kids portion is also good enough. The vegab dish were a bit spicy gor our taste but the manager soon complimented us with an authentic sweet dish,which was amazing.would definetly recommend this place for a quite,peaceful meal.

I loved everything about the old Desert Lotus and now there's EVEN MORE to love about the new one in Al Bandar. The restaurant is beautiful, the view amazing, the management and staff incredible and I would eat EVERYTHING on the menu! It's heavenly...and what's more, because of the good causes supported by this establishment, you're doing good too! ❤️❤️

One of the best places for Thai and Sushi, the staff recommendations were perfect from starters Sushi/Papaya Salad/ Soup to main course , do not forget to order owner special ( Bua fresh roll). We celebratated our anniversary and they surprised us with Thai dessert Mango sticky rice (So sweet!!). Very nice and cozy ambience.<br/>Soon they will be moving to another location, so dont wait try it!

I have visited the restaurant many times, excellent service, Thai and sushi. The sushi is great, both at the restaurant and ordering delivery, same quality. My personal favorite sushi is dragon roll, Philadelphia roll, and maguro (tuna), but have had many other great dishes as take away and at restaurant. Highly recommended for their Thai food and sushi!

It's a very nice place to catch up with frnds or for family gatherings. Food, ambience and customer service are all good. A nicely kept place.

I love Thai food and am always on the look out for new restaurants. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant this week and we're not disappointed. The food arrived promptly , well packaged and in a huge portion. We were very satisfied and the taste was truly authentic ( I have lived in Thailand and know my Thai food!) - I would highly recommend the tom yum soup and sticky rice, it was so flavoursome. Definitely give this place a try!

Simple comfortable place and relaxing atmosphere. The traditional thai food is excellent and authentic, but i go there for the creative and artistic thai fusion sushi. I never forget the taste of this special combination with succulent fresh ingredients 😋 Affordable prices, very friendly and polite staff, lovely manager as always caring about the customers and what they like...Highly Recommended!

The place outside and inside restaurant look old and empty but food was nice , bua roll crispy and tasty, pad Thai yummy , fried rice similar not interested, Thai tea no taste tea

Excellent authentic Thai food, the staff are exceptional , the owner Bua absolutely top notch. Tom yum delicious, Bua special roll super tasty, the best chicken pad Thai, wash it down with Thai tea, and finish the meal with superb sticky rice.

The traditional Thai food is excellent and authentic, but I go there for the creative and artistic Thai fusion sushi. Tom Yum sushi? That's genius. The flavors explode in your mouth.

Had celebrated a birthday here at one to one ! The place is a quiet one in midst of a busy city ! Food was not bad either ! If you like Asian food , definitely a place to visit !!

Disappointing experience. The location of this place is extremely dull and the entrance to the restaurant was dirty and full of garbage. The restaurant looks old and worn out and the staff seems unhappy to serve customers. We were a group of 7 and we ordered a lot of food but the service was slow, seating uncomfortable and we were the only ones there on a Thursday night! Taste of the food was below average. This is a great place to bring family to. Simple and original Thai food, Japanese can be hit and miss. The owner, Bua, is a lovely host and is involved in most aspects of the restaurant. Must go!

My first dine in experience was great!<br/><br/>Delivered food were as good as dine in. Food quality is 5/5. My favorite amongst my ordered food is the tom yum soup (the best!). Fried garlic chicken was also awesome. 😋😋😋

Celebrated 2 of my friends birthday here. The ambiance is good and the servers were mostly from Thailand that adds to the authenticity to the place We decided to go Thai this time. This restaurant serves by far the most authentic Thai dishes in town. It brings back the memory when i travelled to Thailand with every munch of the food! Every dish is a fresh and delicious from the appetizer to dessert! Will definitely come back again to try other dishes.

This is such a wonderful place for an intimate dinner! Love the ambiance of the restaurant and the food. I must say their Pad Thai is really good and authentic. Their prices are pretty reasonable too.

This place has one of the best Thai pad prawns in Abu Dhabi. The ingredients were fresh, but the quantity could have been better. Anyways, would recommend this place.

They have honestly the best Papaya salad...it transports me back to Thailand. I loved the pad Thai, it was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Panang curry could use a little more flavor and spice, but overall I would highly recommend Desert Lotus!

Didn’t like it at all! Ordered Green curry chicken ( way too much extra things in there and not enough chicken) portions very small, papaya salad not bad, Tom Kha soup small portion as well and sushi didn’t like either

Delicious and authentic food! We tried sushi, geeen papaya salad, green curry and deep fry fish. The portion looks little big but once you start eating you finish immediately.

I really enjoyed green papaya salad and my green curry with seafood. Ohh, I was about the forget delicious sushi. The food is authentic and the staff is friendly.

Good Thai restaurant with equally good sushi section (or is it the other way around ?;) <br/>I had the Pad Thai with chicken which was tasty and had a generous amount of chicken. My friends had the dragon roll and another one with salmon. The presentation of both was very nice and they looked very appetizing. The interior is dark paneled wood which i liked, the atmosphere was relaxed. Overall a nice restaurant.

Best Thai food I've had in Abu Dhabi. Super fresh ingredients, amazing flavors and lovely staff. A good combo of Asian cuisines too from Vietnamese to Japanese. We would highly recommend the restaurant.

Variety of food and quality is amazing. Japanese or Thai food. Deliciously made whether you like it spicy or raw. The workers are nice and patience and will wait while you sroll through the rich menu confused and fascinated by the pictures and drooling maybe if hungry.

Very fresh sushi. All you can eat sushi special was worth the price. Pad thai and green curry and pad kra pao gai was delicjous, friendly service that could be quicker.

Exceptionally good food. Enjoyed the masaman beef curry and the chicken pad Thai was the best I've had in ages. Their green curry was also very good. Portion sizes were decent and value for money. The only reason they don't get 5 rating is that the delivery timing wasn't great as they wanted a lot more time than their page indicated before ordering. But they were nice enough to call and did speed things up a bit. But overall great food and I will order again but just leave time allowance.

From appetizers to desserts, it was a great experience. The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are traditional thai yet very creative. All Staff is thai and the owner as well. Tasteful as nowhere in the UAE. Best thai restaurant experience for a reasonable price. If you are looking for affordable high quality, then you won't regret it.

Married to a Thai for 29 years - the same one - I could be considered an expert foreigner regarding Thai cuisine: Desert Lotus is authentic, with quality ingredients, and just plain delicious! Lovely people working there, all Thais - please forget any 'Thai' restaurant where the cooks are not Thai, and there are many! Here this is not the case and your dining experience will definitely benefit from this authenticity - and yes, the owner is Thai, too. Hurray for Thailand! Hurray for real Thai restaurants! And don't miss out on dessert - the best I've tasted in 29 years... just don't tell my wife!

The best Thai restaurant in Abu Dhabi. They have very tasty Pad Thai and Tom yum seafood noodle soup. Very friendly staff. The atmosphere is very romantic.

Refreshing Lemon Ice Tea, delicious Veg Rolls that looked like art on a plate, yummy Mango Salad and veg & chicken Pad Thai with steamed rice... loved everything about the food, the service and the ambience here ❤️ they went out of their way to accommodate my vegetarian husband and offered him pure veg alternatives that were equally delicious! Will definitely visit again.

My husband is Thai and this is by far our favorite Thai restaurant in Abu Dhabi. The Pad Thai is one of the best I have ever had with plenty of sauce and plenty of flavor. Everything in their menu is authentic and delicious.

This is one of our go to places. Love the food! Quality is spot on, all the time. We always order the Choo Chee Salmon, which comes in a special slightly sweet and spicy curry sauce - amazing! My husband likes the black pepper beef, and when we dine in, we like to have the rolls and sushi. The iced milk tea is also a favorite - authentic and satisfies my "comfort" cravings. Even though they tack on the tourism/hotel tax, it's worth it - so when they offer the occasional delivery discounts, it's a total no brained for us :)

Unfortunately the food was two hour late arriving at only 8.50pm. The expected delivery time was 8.05pm and I only received a phone call that the food is going to be an additional 45 mins to 1 hour late which was shocking to hear. The lady boss called and apologise saying that they were busy and they did not send out the text message regarding the promised delivery time. Eventually they refunded the money to me. The food was delicious but I would not order online again and rather visit the restaurant.

I can't believe I didn't find out about this fantastic restaurant sooner! The food is incredible so full of flavour.  The prices are great too. This is a must if you are into Thai food, and best of all they also do a selection of Japanese dishes which are equally as good. My new hot spot for asian food.

A genuine Thai outlet which serves mouth watering dishes. We loved the green curry and minced basil chicken. The owner Bua is a very friendly lady who offered complimentary dishes for trial.<br/><br/>

Nice staff. A hidden treasure for Asian food lovers. The menu has both Thai and Japanese. Try their rolls and curries (I recommend the Bua and Caterpillars rolls). The sticky mango rice is outstanding!

This place was a bit far from where I live but heard good thing about it so we guess it would worth the 20 mins drive. And it worth it. Food was amazing but we had to wait for ages for them to arrive. Take 40 mins before the first dish was served and another 30 mins after we asked for desert. I guess there is only one chef thats why. Anyway we will be back for sure.

A friend highly recommended Desert Lotus to me and I can't thank him enough to take me to this gem of a place. The food was out of this world. Don't think I have had Thai food as good as this anywhere in the UAE. Ms. Bua (chef and owner) personally recommended dishes to us and hands down the Bua Roll was the best we had. I will be back many more times I'm sure. Highly recommend. Staff and food - top notch!

The food was all right. Despite all the great reviews here I didn't really understand what the fuss was about. I found the location and restaurant itself very nice and the prices was also reasonable but all that being said I don't know why I didn't walk away being more satisfied with what was being offered. I was with a friend who is a thai food lover and she shared my sentinments. I might go back to this place to see if my experience was just a one off situation.

Check out their facebook page: /desertlotusUAE/  (I can't put a link in this review).<br/><br/>I'm behind by at least 15 restaurant reviews, so let me re-boot by reviewing the best of the lot in the last two months:<br/><br/>As a fellow Southeast Asian who loves our neighbouring country’s food, I jumped at the chance to try out Desert Lotus the moment that hubby and I were told about it and invited to join a couple of friends who were going there. Now, I have had the good fortune of having had really, really good Thai food in Thailand on numerous work trips there, but knowing we are not in Thailand, I would tend to be a little gentler on any reviews I give a Thai restaurant here.<br/><br/>Upon entering the restaurant on Level 2 of Cluster 14 in One to One Hotel, a most pleasant sight greeted my eyes: the exquisite orchids and lotuses, warm lighting, colourful shimmering Thai-silk pillows on chairs, and of course, the friendly smiles and gentle words so often associated with Thai hospitality.<br/><br/>The warm ambiance aside, onto the food!<br/><br/>Hubby and I and our friends are happy to announce that we had a most satisfying meal consisting of the following:<br/><br/>Golden Rangoons for appetisers -- ok, so it isn’t Thai, probably not even from Rangoon/Yangon, since it is filled with cream cheese. But there were wrapped in a skin that was just right: not too thick, not too thin, and fried to perfection. Oh, and it’s not written in the menu but our friends knew it existed in the ‘just ask for it’ menu.<br/><br/>Som Tam Thai -- the Thai classic shredded green papaya salad which also has long beans, carrots, dried shrimp, and peanuts, tossed in a sweet, spicy and sour fish sauce dressing. The perfect ‘hoi wai’ dish, i.e. one which ‘opens the appetite’ as we can in Cantonese.<br/><br/>For mains, we ordered the Panang Beef Curry, the Massaman Lamb Curry, and a stir-fried mixed vegetables dish. The latter is also not on the menu, and again, was just asked for and was cooked for us.<br/><br/>All the dishes were flavourful, not too spicy (another thing you can request for), and a sight for hungry eyes, being presented in a most appetizing way.<br/><br/>I especially relished being able to bite into the large bone in the lamb curry, which greatly contributed to my dining experience! (see photo)<br/><br/>For dessert, we ordered two items:<br/>1)    their signature dish, which was the Sticky Rice Pudding with Mango (khao niao mamuang), with a serving of ice-cream on the side.  This sweet, along with chicken wrapped in fragrant pandan leaves (‘kai hor bai toey’- not available at that time, but I asked if they could include it in the future), and fresh-coconut ice-cream, form the Triad of Thai Tastiness for me. ☺ And it did not disappoint. However, and this is my personal taste, I prefer the glutinous rice to be just a tad softer compared to how it was made at Desert Lotus.<br/>2)    Tup Tim Krob, or crispy red ‘rubies’ (red-tinted water chestnuts) in coconut milk – again, this was an item not on the menu, but I asked if they could make it for me, and they did! By ‘they’, I mean Bua, the lady proprietor who runs the restaurant, who was a most gracious host. Totally hit the spot and ended the meal on a Thai high note!<br/><br/>Oh, and we had a lovely drink called pea-flower tea, I think...<br/><br/>Go and eat there!<br/>p/s: They also have a Japanese menu, but we didn't try that.
