All the way from South Africa and I love Yas Mall. I've never experienced anything bad while there and I love the vibe and many variety of shops.

It was the first time I ever try Emirati food and I just fell in love with it because of this place. The food is beyond delicious. The meat melts in your mouth, the rice has the perfect amount of spices, seafood is on point. Im not a beef eater, but I highly recommend the Machboos Laham. It’s a 5/5 place.

This place has an Emirati homey feel! I love the interiors and the overall vibe of this place. Food is great and large in portion. The staff are nice but not very attentive. Our drinks came after our meals and had to wait for server’s attention to get our bill. But otherwise it was a very pleasant experience and for sure will try this place again.

This is my second visit to Al Fanar in a span of two weeks. The place is cozy and the interiors takes you back in time. We love the food served here. The Laham Machboos is absolutely amazing. Leqaimat is one emirati dessert one can just not miss
A lovely place to have authentic Emirati cuisine, we went for the chicken machboos, lamb biryani and the robyan magli. The main courses were absolutely delicious, generous portion size as well. We loved the chicken machboos.
For dessert we tried their legaymat, which was good, but I have had better.

We found this place while we were craving for some emirati cuisine. This restaurant is true to it's name, serving the most amazing local cuisine in Uae. We ordered for Britain which is called Beryani Robyan and a chicken kebab. It was sufficient for the two of us. Worth the money and luckily we had offer I'm our credit card so they gave buy one get one. The staff was friendly too.
Been here with friends. Ordered jewaneh(chicken wings) and squid for starters. For main course had beryani laham, lamb stew curry and quail. We all loved the chicken starter, beryani and the lamb stew. Good retro ambience and service.
Had the grill seabream and seabass. It was fantastic! Taste just like the ocean. Definitely a must try. Staff (Catherine) was very attentive and polite.

Usually every Friday morning we are having our breakfast in Al Fanar restaurant. We usually if we arrive in time we order the set breakfast menu where you can chose from 2 main courses salad bread and tea.
I usually take Laham Nasheef and egg shakshoka , ciabatta bread salad and tea. My wife usually takes keema shakshouka ciabatta bread , salad, tea and churbab with honey and date syrup.
The staff is very attentive the ambience nice and the food quality are awesome. Also the prices are good compared to other places where we had breakfast.
Nice emiraty food although you will not find every thing in the menu to be available, but still most of the food in the menu are delicious also very friendly staff

If you want to try Emirati cuisine, Al Fanar is one of the best options in the UAE. Their staff are so kind and helpful. Especially their Lugaimat is amazing, highly recommended!

After skipping lunch cane here for some coffee and landed up ordering some snacks too. Its set with a 1960s style dubai house with photos of that era.reminded me of my old village house and visit to grandparents. Delighting staff and an Arabic coffee ( Emirati style) pot to die for, now will be the highlight of this trip. Their speciality le qaimat was especially yummy with Its dates syrup too. Would love to come over again.
Really enjoy this emarati restaurant. There isn’t many emirati restaurants here ; its a delight to see the traditional interiors and staffs dressed in local dress. The serveware are the pretty flowery emirati ones. Gets you to think about the old days of UAE.
Must try their fried fish and fish saloona with rice. Like their karak and samak cutlet as well.

I visit to ferrari world with my friends last week and had lunch in Alfanar restaurant, an amazing mouth watering food and very nice service. specially Mr. Bharat who suggest us for the food and brief us about the restaurant and Mall.. it make our day memorable. Situated in Yas Mall Cascade walk right next to Ferrari world entrance, this restaurant is a good place for expats to try Emirati cuisine.
The USP of Al Fanar is that dishes like Jasheed (or Qsheed- shredded baby shark served with white rice), Thareed (flat bread layered with choice of lamb/ chicken stew), Harees (coarsely ground wheat with meat porridge) which are not easily available in other Arabic restaurants are available here.
Service is prompt , efficient and cordial - the waiting staff speak English and should be able to guide you on the dishes if required. The dishes are priced reasonably and the portion sizes are decent. The restaurant is themed to look like UAE of yesteryears -good ambience. The clientele is mostly local and expat Arabs with decent turn out of other expat crowd too.
We tried Jasheed (excellent), Naghar Nashef (squid -very good), Thareed Laham (OK - too much bread in the dish for our taste) and Harees (too bland for our tastes- we prefer the Indian version Haleem).
Definitely the place to go for Emirati cuisine

We ordered the lamb kebabs, grilled gulf tiger prawns and lemonade with mint. Big shareable portions. Fantastic food and great service! Really enjoyed it.
Great meal with very good service. Enjoyed the kabobs and the sauces. The mint lemonade was to die for. They even served lemon slices with the water.

In my opinion, the staff will dictate how good your dining experience will be in a restaurant. This is my first time to try an authentic emirati cuisine, so I was open to anything. The staff were very polite and helpful. They suggested the best the dishes that was just right for a first timer. This made my experience really nice. I would definitely dine here again when I visit Abu Dhabi again.

Posto molto carino e tipico. Sembra di essere in una tipica piazza araba e non in un centro commerciale. Le cameriere simpatiche e cordiali. Per iniziare ci hanno servito dei ceci al peperoncino molto buoni. Consiglio vivamente se si vuole assaggiare la cucina araba su yas island.

Emirati food, what a long way I have come from not loving it at all when I first tasted it to absolutely loving it now. Why the change of thought ? after trying out Emirati food over and over again I understood that its the simplicity in their dishes that make the dish so flavourful. This cuisine focuses entirely on bringing out the existing flavour of the food itself without having to add to many additives. So in my journey of trying this cuisine, my latest venture was at Al Fanar restaurant located in Yas Mall.

If you are looking for a emirati ifthar, Look no further beacuse Al Fanar restaurant & cafe got you covered. Not only the ambiance is going to take you back to the old Dubai it even delivers when it comes to the food. For a small price of 116 dhirams per adult and 58 dhirams for children above 4 years. You get an wide range of selection from the most requested and ordered dishes of the reataurant. Which is quite rare. Because restaurant usually don't offer their prime selections as a part of an offer. But here at al Fanar you can enjoy everything that they are famous for in one go divided into four courses.
The 1st course includes the drink and starters.. We ordered the famous vimto slushy and Laban drink and vegetarian samosa and the ever so delightful crispy cheese roll drizzled with honey. It was just a party in your mouth.
For the 2nd course we got the jarjeer salad which looked so plain jane with just rocket leaves and cucumber but let me tell you it was anything but plain. The flavour in that salad was so smack on and so was the salad tomat with a hint of freshly grinded mustard seeds. For the soups we had chicken soup and lentil soup. Now the chicken soup wasn't up to my pallatte because it lacked flavour but that lentil soup was just beyond perfection. The spices was mellow but to the point and just so delish.
The 3rd course we got the famous harees and the chicken machboos. That harees was slow cooked to perfection and ever so fatty and creamy and just pure pleasure to eat. Some may say that it doesn't have much spices. But please remember that this is isnt HALEEM. For me this was such a delight. Mellow and mushy and just so wonderful to eat. I see why this is famous during ramadaan time. It's so rich and creamy that will give you instant energy and nourishment and still mellow enough for the stomach.
Coming to the chicken machboos. Well what can I say chicken grilled to perfection and blending in with the rice that is cooked with beautiful spices married together.
The 4th and final course we had the luqaimat and sago. Along with Arabic coffee. The sago was the first time for me. I have not had emirati version of the sago pudding. It was just a simply prpeaired sago with sugar and ample cinnamon powder and almond flakes on top. Really enjoyed that. Coming to the luqaimat . Let me tell you.. I have tried this at several places but never really wondered why such hype there was to it till I tried it here at al Fanar. My gosh!!! Wasn't that a treat. Now I clearly see why luqaimat is one of the favourite desserts in U.A.E and it deserves all the hype. It's so worth a trip just to try the luiqmat. It was that good.
Me and my family really enjoyed the ifthar here. Highly recommend it. So worth it. 😙

Went there yesterday after a long time .. I liked only 1 plate which is excellent ( prawns biryani) 5/5.
We also tried many other dishes but they are just average not waaaw 3/5 for most of them

Excellent authentic cuisine. Best to order a selection to share. Rose water at the end is a welcome touch. Breads are fantastic. Add this restaurant to your trip to Yas Mall and Ferrari World.

An amazing place to try and have local Emirati food. I have tried 4 - 5 branches that include festival city, Jumeirah. However the food and staff at Yas Mall are exceptionally better in my opinion. I highly recommend for anyone

Al Fanar challenges everyone who thinks or says that Emarati Cuisine is bland. It isnt, at all. Esp not at Fanar.
We love it because the menu is simple, reasonable priced, non spicy and meat loving! We always order the lamb biryani, prawn majboos, thareed, harees and lgaymat. The lamb meat is sooo tender, covered with tomato and onion gravy.
Decor is fantastic, giving you the feeling of 1980s - classy. The restaurant is listed on Entertainer to avail the buy1get1 offers. We are regular customers. #approved

It's my family's first time in Abu Dhabi and we wanted to tey something really local. Right after Ferrari World, we went straight to this restaurant spontaneously and the food here did not disappoint. The mixed appetizer was really great and the chicken with rice (picture not included) was great as well (a family of 4 can share this).
If you're looking for a quick authentic snack in Yas Island or after going around Ferrari World, this is a great restaurant you can try!
