Specifically stopped by here to try the camel. The restaurant is located within Emirate Palace, which was a really beautiful place to look around. The palace reeked of opulence and extravagance which was very different from what I'm used to.

After getting to the restaurant with my booking, I was served doughnuts, dates and special coffee. The doughnuts were really amazing. I had the choice for inside or outdoor dining and opted to eat outside. The outdoor area had booths with very comfortable seats. After getting the menu I did feel like I was forgotten for a bit. Due to its location, it was hard to get anyone's attention without having to leave the table.

After getting to order, the item I wanted wasn't available so I ended with going with the other camel dish. I was also recommended the camel milk with dates.

The camel milk was interesting. It didn't have a strong milk flavour but that could have been due to the dates. It was kinda hard to drink though since the date pieces kept getting stuck in the straw.

I started with the veal harees, which was like a meat pate. The meat was spiced very delicately but the texture was a bit weird for me, almost gummy. It did go really well with the pita bread. The pita bread was delicious. I found the camel chop a bit dry. The vegetables that came with it were seasoned and cooked well.

I had the angel hair and kashta for dessert. There was a pistachio and honey parfait on one side and angel hair filled with cream and topped with chocolate on the other. Both items were nice.

The food was made well but it wasn't something that I would go for again, particularly due to the price. Service was really nice when they were there, but that could have been due to the time, as I arrived there quite late (2130). Overall it was an interesting experience.

What a better way to try emirati food for the first time other than here. The food is very tasty and authentic. We loved the jasheed (baby shark) dish. The madfoun lamb is to dye for. I highly recommend this place

Went there for dinner with colleagues, i think the best Arabic resturant in Abudhabi. What a courteous staff and fantastic service. Had the best kababs.

This was my first Arabic fine dine experience and I must say the place and the food truly lived upto my expectations. The hotel Emirates Palace in itself is the epitome of luxury and decadence. And this restaurant a fist of its kind emirati dining space completely blew us away. The food was authentic and served with a lot of love and care. The preparation truly exemplified the ingredients used and the flavours were mild yet we couldn’t get enough. Must try includes their salads, freshly made flat breads, assorted mezze and desserts. Don’t forget to wind up with an Arabic cuppa.

Visited this place twice only for my all-time favourite which is their mughrabia with scallops! it's highly recommended for it's rich luxurious flavour and texture. I also had the emirati raghab bread which is average, nothing extraordinary. The orange date cheesecake is really good too and not too sweet. I just had my birthday and my friend requested to have a happy birthday dessert--the Choco Mousse was served and we were told that it has camel milk that's why it's an exquisite dessert. Staff are all friendly and accomodating.

We had a family lunch in Mezlai on a Saturday afternoon and reading the reviews here on zomato I haven't had expectations. We were sitting outside in the beautiful garden which was convenient to have a small walk around until the main course arrived. I loved everything that was served especially the harees and the chicken dishes. The fish came in a big pot of rather a runny sauce which was truly a shame because it was too much sauce almost like a soup.
Food quality was very good but I agree that the prices are too high. I wouldn't come back unless I'm invited.

I like this location and have been there few times now. This is next to Fanr the other good restaurant for Emirati food. A good place to go with Emirati friends.

Despite the high price of the food and the not so attentive waiters service, I had a pleasant dining experience with food of the most exquisite flavours (the scallops were great). For this reason I highly recommend going to this restaurant

Delicious food. Though I don't eat meat; my relatives really enjoyed the scallops and the veal harris. For those who enjoy refreshing mocktails, I highly recommend the lemon and mint drink1

The charm of going to Mezlai was tasting genuine Emirati cuisine, as though we live in the Emirates, we seldom get the chance to taste their homegrown cuisine. The ambience is beautiful and the service attentive. While during the day indoor seating is better, during the night outdoor seating in the tents provides beautiful views and ambience. The breads and the dips served gratis are lovely and I could have filled myself on these. We ordered the salad and Chicken wings Hamsat as starters. the Chicken wings vere flavorful and delicious however I was disappointed in the quantity of the salad at the price it was offered. The taste was also not exceptional. In the mains we tried Chicken with yogurt-delicious, the prawn and the chicken biryanis. the biryanis are probably the best I have tasted in Abu Dhabi. We tried the Shebab for dessert and were not disappointed. Mezlai does live upto its name and the quality of food cannot be faulted.

Abu dhabi, Dubai and all the other Emirates, have a severe shortage of Emirati Restaurants. I can hardly name one restaurant that poped up last year in Dubai, other than this one my mind struggles to find any other Emirati restaurant. I know there are some restaurants that serve Mendi and Machboss, but they are "Gulf Themed" restaurants, especially Yemeni and Saudi Dishes.

To have an emirati restaurant is a dream come true to me, not to dine in often, but to introduce foreign friends and tourists to authentic emirati food. I came to know about the restaurant from my sister and my first guess was like "this is not going to be an EMIRATI restaurant", its going to have biryani with "masala" or mendi like all the other restaurants. So guess what?, i didn't feel like going to try this restaurant, mostly because i dont want to prove my expectation.

One day, my sister invited me to have Iftar with her in Mezlai and who am i to reject an offer like that?. We reached Mezlai almost in time for Iftar, and to our surprise they said there is no A la cart menu, instead it was a set menu with a small portion of a selection of emirati dishes. on the table, there was an emirati biryani with saffron not masala, Fried fish with its dry sauce " we call it nashif", Chicken with white rice and harees. the food was authentic, well cooked and tasteful. As for dessert, we had a selection of Emirati desserts like asyida, khabeesa and sagao.

I have to admit, i was wrong and the restaurant proved me wrong. Food was emirati, authentic and choices were well thought. I can always say this, service in emirates palace is always professional and leaving you feeling wanted again in any restaurant in the hotel.

This needs a new paragraph. Karak Tea is my favorite drink, and few places know how to prepare it in a proper way. In Mezlai, end your meal with a Karak Tea, you will not regret it.
