(التعليق الأصلي) What a find this was! Toki is an authentic Japanese restaurant with a calm atmosphere and bountiful food choices. We tried five dishes and all were very good! Would especially recommend their otoshi, popcorn shrimp and spider roll. The service was great and all the waiters were willing to help with the choices. This is the place to enjoy your company and get some relief from the city's noizy and posh places (but without compromising food quality!).

(التعليق الأصلي) We wanted some authentic Japanese food and we found Toki. It’s situated at Radisson Blu hotel at Corniche Rd, suggest to park with valet if you are driving. It has a very good spread of Japanese food - sushi, sashimi, bento set, ramen, udon etc. Our favourite is the udon soup, it was really superb and authentic, price reasonable as well. Service was very good and they gave some complimentary ice cream/ocha. Highly recommended and will be back!

Even though I quite liked the food, I must say the place was quite pricey. The quantity was good, food yum, dishes were served quickly yet I don’t think I would pay this much for it. The bill came up to about 450 for the 4 of us, but when the bill came we realized we had to pay another 100 dhs for taxes. Which was ridiculous. Not sure if I will return.

I’ve always been a big fan of Japanese Cuisine that’s why I was so disappointed after trying this place considering it having a high rating. Their makis are nothing special, the ramen lacks flavor and the price are a bit too much. I’ve been to a lot nicer japanese restaurants with budget friendly prices! Definitely not recommending this place ☹️ sorry!

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Abu Dhabi. It's a very authentic setting and the extensive menu is delicious! The staff are always attentive and even have bells on the table in case you need something. I generally eat sushi and sashimi when dinning at Toki but their mains are also great. Very authentic restaurant and served quality food but let down by poor service. Staff could have been a bit more attentive. Had to ask for the bill twice and ended up ordering drinks at the same time as the food because we waited so long after being seated.

The food is passable, pales in comparison with high quality Japanese restaurants, the ambience is nice however they will give you a hard time over getting a private room as they like to pretend that the restaurants is busy, I wish they put more effort in cleaning their restaurant as you can find dust at times and the rooms are hot so they offer you a cheap air conditioning unit inside. The prices are above average for the low quality food. However, the worse thing about this restaurant is the staff, as I was surprised by the way the staff would treat their customers as if they were charity cases. To be fair after giving so much praise and a little scorn to other Sushi establishments in Abu Dhabi the Ambitious Glutton felt that Toki should get a review. While maintaining sushi counter is the best sushi inspired informal dining in Abu Dhabi, Toki would be the Ambitious Glutton's favorite formal sushi dining option. Staff are polite and the resturant has a Japanese feel, but the Glutton cannot comment to how authentic having never been to Japan. Sashimi was astetically pleasing as was the texture and taste. Price was pretty fair too.<br/>

Atmosphere was great and food was delicious. Both Udon were very refreshing. However, the dessert in bento box was a little of disappointment. Tokyo cheese cake was frozen and green tea ice cream was average. The black sesame cream brûlée had a shocking taste but it was nice. Overall experience and food was very good

You need to be carefull about the prices. The menu is exclusive of all possible taxes and fees. Calculate 25 percent more what is written in the menu cart...

First of all, I strongly suggest you not to be fooled by the prices shown on the menu. All the prices that you see on the menu are excluding 25% taxes. So basically if you expect a bill around 1.000 AED, will surprise you with 1.250 AED. First time in the UAE, I see such an unethical way of pricing. That is absolutely not a customer-friendly approach.<br/>And the food is absolutely not value for money. The taste is good, but absolutely doesn’t deserve that prices shown (+%25 taxes) on the menu. <br/>I regret I have chosen that restaurant. Better to ask for a delivery from cheap sushi restaurants which has the same taste and %60-70 cheaper than what you will pay.<br/>

Came to this place on a Thursday night. It’s packed. Our Japanese friend comes here all the time, so I think I can say this is a real authentic Japanese restaurant. <br/><br/>We ordered a sushi boat! The food is always great but what makes it special is the service we always get. Shout out to Ms. Krizza for the excellent service. I was initially disappointed because chashu ramen wasn’t available, but Ms. Krizza saved the day! She suggested another option and voila! The day was saved 😊. This is one of the few really authentic japanese restaurants in town. The interior design is simple and beautiful and there are some very cozy compartments for small groups. As for the menu, don’t expect only sushi. It is full of delicious soups and dishes with meat and vegetables. Loved the bento box with a dozen different small dishes.

I love this restaurant. Food is so delicious, staff is friendly and helpful. I like "zashiki" room. It is nice for family. Green tea is also good here.

Favourite sushi ever! Best crispy California maki in town! I also suggest the chicken salad, vegetable spring rolls and their matcha ice cream!<br/><br/>Only issue is the fact that it’s an extremely old restaurant, so it’s very outdated in design.

I like here because there is "Hori-Kotatsu" here. Eating food with taking off shoes is Japanese style. Taste is also good, and staff are so so nice and professional. I like caterpillar roll here.

Toki is my go to sushi restaurant. Go there on Wednesdays and you will get the freshest sushi in town (that's the say they restock their fish). The hamachi and fatty tuna is by far the freshest and bar I've ever had. And I always order the spicy tuna roll and salmon skin rolls. This time around I was a bit adventurous and ordered the octopus which was not to my liking but very fresh for anyone keen for that very specific flavour! Toki never disappoints!

Had dinner at toki the other day and had high expectations. We came out disappointed, we thought this place was going to be authentic and high quality with the location and the prices we paid. Sushi was okay nothing special, most of them were fried and had "special sauce". Also the ramen and fried rice were not good. Dessert was very mediocre, we got the dessert bento box. Service was great. Overall I don't think I'd come back and I recommend searching harder for other high end Japanese restaurants.

For an authentic Japanese experience it's a must try. It's as Japanese as it can get, almost as traveling to Tokio. Fresh and delicious food time after time, they keep their standards high. Always consistent in their cuisine and service. Very attentive and well trained staff, one of the few places in town where the waiters/waitresses actually know what they are serving. Good knowledge of their dishes and Japanese beverages. For all you sushi lovers it's a must try. Definitely recommended. <br/> PS: For the most adventurous dinners they do also have a little section on their menu with new/traditional Japanese specialities that they changes every now and then.

Absolutely beautiful dinner at Toki's - my wife had the Pork Katsu curry and I had a bento box myself.<br/>Big tip is to stick with only your mains, as you'll receive some complimentary items and the portions are quite generous!<br/>Highly highly recommended!

Delicious sushi, loved the food. The decor must be updated a bit as i found the black couches too dull. I like the authentic Japanese seating area though, a must try.

Good sushi. We ordered the California roll, jalapeño roll, spicy tuna (could have been spicier) and cucumber roll. I felt the wasabi and ginger could have been fresher. Also our spicy edamame was good in flavor but over cooked. I liked the privacy of the place and service was good.

Always a great experience. The black cod in particular is one of my favorites there. Will always recommend this place to whoever asks me where they should go for sushi.

My nth time with toki but amazing as always. Tonight, me and hubby had the sauteed scallops which was delish, my fave spider roll and their new pink tiger rolls which were yumm!!! We also had steamed clams in sake and kaki fry (fried oysters) served with some sauces which was kinda interesting (in a good way) but hubby loves it! Tonkatsu ramen was nice too - love the broth and melt in the mouth braised meat. Lastly, the matcha green tea ice cream.. ahhhhhh, heavenly!!! 😚😚

I ordered the lunch set menu : Tonkatsu Don which included breaded pork cutlet on top of rice with sauce, miso soup, garden salad, ice cream and tea. The katsu was crispy on the outside but juicy in the inside. Too bad the rice was too soft and mushy for my liking. I ended up ordering Takoyaki to fill me up. Overall service is good and vast variety for Japanese food. Better book ahead as it is quite full with business lunch people.

Great place to eat! Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Ms. Nancy! We have lived in Abu Dhabi for 11 years and still prefer Toki above all other Japanese restaurants, even though we have to travel far (off the island). The sushi here is amazing and very well made. <br/>

Toki is one of my favourite sushi places- despite that I am not a hardcore sushi eater. They had this one dish that I was in love with, and in fact was the main reason why I would come to toki: the California roll with fried garlic chips. I've been to Toki in Al Ain, and I've visited a lot of Japanese restaurants in this country, hands down Al Ain's Toki branch is the best at service and food so far. <br/><br/>I found out that there's a Toki in Abu Dhabi and I'm planning to go to Japan next year so I decided to take my wife to try to Japanese at Toki. I was shocked why it was given 4/5<br/><br/><br/>The service was 3/5, the waitress wasn't knocking the door, apart from the food that didn't feel so fresh. <br/><br/>Went there more than once luckily my wife likes it.

I always make it a point to dine in here whenever I'm in Abu Dhabi. Growing up with a japanese dad cooking our meal was heaven for me and in this resto made me reminisce dad's home cooking. By far, my favorite jap resto! I just wish they have one here in Dubai... You can expect that their service is consistently impeccable. A must try are their ramens! Ranging from vegetarian, chicken, beef and sea food! They also have a pork menu! 😉 their food is worth the price! Probably the best Japanese restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Pretty authentic and the lunch menu is nice. The Unagi in the Unagi don was juicy and plump, so I definitely recommend trying this.<br/><br/>Definitely a repeating customer.

Sushi is great, they do offer up japanese dishes which are not easy to find in abudhabi such as okonomiyaki (japanese pizza) and nikujyaga (beef and potatos stew). So you are able to find some new dishes to try if you like japanese food. I tried almost everything on the menu and they are always consistent with quality and taste is always good.

Haven't been there in a whileeee... was craving their yakiniko beef so went there for a light bite. The service was excellent and fast but the food standards have dropped, nothing is as good as it used to be. Left there disappointed especially that the makis we ordered had a lot of mayo, the beef we got was a bit undercooked, and the mochis definitely old n stale. I guess I haven't been missing out all those years I hadn't been there!

One of the best sushi spots in Abu Dhabi! I tried so hard to have my husband try sushi but could never get him to do so until one day I tricked him into going to TOki (said it was Italian!). So given that he was starving and it was too late to go anywhere else, he agreed to stay and try but imposed a 'no raw food' clause ! We started with some miso soup and edamame which he loved, and then I ordered all kinds of maki rolls that I knew he would like (we've been together for far too long) and guess what, he loved them all! He had such a good Time and enjoyed everything i ordered and said that he would definitely be going back for more. Needless to say, this was the beginning of a love affair with sushi and we've got to explore many other Great sushi outlets after.

Love their food alot! Always looks and tastes fresh. They do no take alot of time serving and their staff is very friendly. <br/>Would be nice if they would add new dishes to the menu such as new sushi rolls, or lobster taco and so on. <br/>A slight issue only is the AC in the room, sometimes the rooms get hot but overall great place!

Since I'm not aware which best place to go to Abu Dhabi then of course I have to check Zomato for great review and ratings. And since we're craving for great Japanese food especially udon and ramen, we thought that Toki at Hilton Hotel will be a decent Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately we are not satisfied with the food. The only menu I enjoy was the edamame. But other than food they have a great ambiance and good service.

Place is great, food was alright, not the best but good enough, their maki rolls are one of the best in town and for that I will return again, the service was amazing too 👍🏻

Excellent food, interior really impressive, but not satisfied with timing, open only till 11 pm, nobody informed about last order. As for me, such places suppose to be open at least till 12

I am not a big fan of sushi but the menu seems to be overpriced i can enjoy unlimited sushi and more over agemono buffet rather than here both doesnt make a difference in terms of taste but of course the ambience is awesome but i didnt go der for the ambience 😤

Its definitely average. I used to go there a lot before so many other, better sushi places opened in AD! The place itself is nice though, i love the rooms you can ask for! They give u so much privacy. But yeah, food isnt so bad. I'd say average.<br/>

Glad that there is pork Japanese menu with good selection of dishes. The pork don rice was a bit too sweet but still tastes nice as it's pork. Katsu pork curry - the pork chops were not crispy enough but curry tastes ok. Dumplings are not crispy on the bottom. Bentos were of big portion and of good selections of dishes. Sashimi was nice. The fried chicken inside sushi rolls was a bit sobby but don't taste bad. Salad sauce was nice. Fish in bento tastes good. Tempura was ok. Excellent customer service. Better book in advance so u can sit in partitioned rooms instead of tables in open area.

By far the best restaurant within Abu-Dhabi (As Zuma is off the island), we actually been to wasabi countless of times in our earlier years in Abu-Dhabi, and then migrate to Toki, which belong to the same owner as Wasabi...I actually personally the Master Chef at Toki, I used to go and see him in he morning, every time I had a customer at chefericscookingschool.com who wanted to have any kind of dish with extremely fresh tuna !!!  And kindly he used to give me some of his best tuna, unfortunately after a while the company rules changed and he was not able to help me anymore !!!Now, I have been so busy for the last few years, and I haven't been back for a long time!!!Conclusion : I MISS TOKI AND ALL THE STAFF...

One of my all time favorites this place. Have had business lunch time and again. They could have done with some more options for Fresh JUICES, mocktails, etc but for choice of Japanese food, amazingly superb. Ironically my favourite is the Chicken Curry that they serve with rice n a whole lot of veggies and miso soup. The Salmon Sashimis outstanding.....enjoy.

I'm a big fan of Japanese food. I heard some good feedbacks from my friends about this place. So I decided to check it. As soon as I enter I was disappointed. The design look very cheap and quite old. Ok, the idea with private cabins is good. But still, inside was terrible. I heard every single word from the cabin next to our! It was very uncomfortable. <br/>About food - worst sushi I ever tried! I was expecting a lot from this place, but after first bite I was about to get up and leave. <br/>Same with main courses. The only thing which I liked was salmon oyako don. All the other - ?<br/>Oh, and one more thing that shoked me: they don't have disposable chopsticks!!!!!!

I have been here a couple of times usually in a large group. They have an amazing private seating option along with great sushi. The chicken Katsu curry is pretty good too.

I've always been a big fan of this place for their excellent sushi and nice atmosphere. I went there recently on new year's eve, I ordered California rolls, Maguro Nigiri and ginger ale for drinks.<br/><br/>The service was excellent, the california rolls were as good as always, however the maguro nigiri was horrible this time, the amount of wasabi on it was just way too much and the tuna tasted weird, I always order it so I could clearly tell that something was just off this time. I called the waitress and gave her the plate back, she asked me if I want to order something else but the weird taste of the tuna just ruined my appetite.

If you want a true Japanese experience, this is it! I highly recommend getting one of the rooms, taking your shoes off and indulge in the atmosphere with some delicious sushi and good conversation. The prices were very reasonable for the service and quality of food. Definitely going again, discovering this was like finding a true gem.

Absoloutly Japanese! My best place to have traditional Japanese food! Always go for the cabinet, where you get to experience sitting on tatami. Fresh sushi, amazing bento sets, slurpious/mouth watering udon and ramen. Ask for a full course, to be served chawanmushi and complementary sencha.<br/>Definatl the place to be, when craving for authentic Japanese food!

They have the best lunch in Abu Dhabi. You will surely enjoy their set meals which would leave you satisfied and full. This is also the most authentic Japanese restaurant our family have tasted outside Japan. No wonder why the Japanese loved this restaurant as well.

I tried Toki yesterday after searching for a unique Japanese spot. The private dining room and floor seating was a nice touch :) the food was impressive.<br/><br/>We ordered a bunch a little things. The rolls were fresh, the rice cooked just right and the mains were on point. <br/><br/>We had the Hamachi on the chefs menu and honestly I have never had something's so delicious.<br/><br/>Also the seaweed salad and the cucumber tuna salad were great. <br/><br/>A must try for groups, couples or anyone looking for your non- pretentious yet truly delicious culinary experience. <br/><br/>I give it 4.5 because I think there is room for improvement with lightening and general ambiance. <br/><br/>Go on, give it a try :)

I love Toki! Definitely the nicest Japanese I've found and the restaurant itself is so nice with low lighting, water features and booths. <br/><br/>I think the quality if the food is excellent and whilst it's definitely not cheap, I think it's good value for what you get. <br/><br/>I've had sushi & sashimi here and also a couple of main dishes. All were fantastic.<br/><br/>Another great aspect is private dining rooms - I've never been inside but judging from the laughter I could hear as I walked past, the people who were inside were loving it!

Best sashimi in Abu Dhabi. Great selection and amazing atmosphere. Best place to get your night started if you are going out clubbing.<br/><br/>Book in advance and get a private room.

When i First ate sushi, i felt sick and was one second away from throwing up. I had to give sushi another chance, I always give food another chance and say to my self: Maybe it is not done properly, or maybe i need to aquire the taste and get used to it. The idea of eating raw fish was not very appealing to me but i had to go for it so that i do not feel there something out there i didn't try when i had the chance to. <br/><br/>The second time i ate sushi, i was mentally prepared and thought this might be good just don't think of the raw fish and try to taste it how it really meant to be. In short, I loved it and started my journy to try other sushi places in town. I tried many types of sushi and they were not good untill i found wasabi which is the same restaurant as Toki, you could say its another branch. Toki is defintley the choice between these two, the location is the main factor considring the food is all the same. <br/><br/>Toki manages to put on a nice sipmle decor with some nice paintings on the wall, the only thing i didnt like is the dim lighting. Apart from the lighting, Toki serves a very good Japanese food. The sushi is very fresh and crisp, the shrimp popcorn is a huge hit with all my friends. Even the ones who do not eat sushi, it is okey with them to go to toki with me while i have my sushi they can always enjoy the shrimp popcorn and calamari. <br/><br/>I visited Toki more than i can count and every time i want to have sushi with friends Toki was the answer. Now though, there are other restaurants that we found or poped up receintly. It is defenitly going to be harder to choose Toki, but i will always find my way back to toki. It is in a very convenient location, yes they don't serve the best sushi in town but it is still very very good with good prices as well. Toki is a great place and really worth visiting, even if you are not a sushi person.

Toki is great in terms of atmosphere and quality of food. We went there as a group of six and got seated in a private room; I think I would have enjoyed being seated in the main area where you can see the sushi chefs better. <br/><br/>Ordered different nigiri (including salmon, tuna, octopus and eel) as well as a bunch of futomaki (rolls) along with some appetizers. The downfall of this place I think is that they charge a premium price for what I would consider an average (OK, maybe a tad bit above average) product. <br/><br/>I don't recall exactly, but I think our bill ended up being about 2800 dirhams which is steep in my opinion. If you are into spending a nice evening with friends in a place that provides a nice ambiance and are not necessarily looking for good value in terms of food (ie you value the setting more than the cuisine), then I recommend this place. Otherwise, I suggest one of the many other sushi options in Abu Dhabi to get your raw fish fix.

Probably the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Abu Dhabi, both for ambiance and food experience. Strongly recommend!
