Victor’s Bar & Restaurant at Hilton Capital Grand hosts a Friday pub-style brunch for only 199AED net per person, including house beverages. We were a party of 4 who were invited to try out their menu. The venue is quite large and can host a large group of guests. Although it was relatively less busy compared to other places on a Friday, with good company, we still had a good time. The décor reminds you of your neighbourhood pub with wood-based colours, comfy deep-seated club chairs, and a stage at the front for the local band to play some live music.
There was live music during the brunch and the band did a great job in playing some hit-tunes of the current decade as well as some old classics (i.e. Wonderwall). It definitely adds to the positive vibe as you sip on your beverage.
The brunch includes unlimited starters (choose from a list of 11), your choice of a main course, and a dessert. Of course, it also includes all-you-can-drink alcoholic beverages and mocktails, juices, and sodas.
Our favourite starters include:
- Calamari Rings
- Beef Sliders
- Buffalo Chicken Wings (warning – they’re spicy!)
- Cheesy French Fries
Out of the main courses, you can choose from:
- Rib-eye steak cooked to your liking, served with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables
- Half a barbeque chicken served with home fries
- Cottage pie
- Cheeseburger
- Buffalo chicken burger
The ribeye was at least 10 ounces so it’s quite large, especially after eating a table full of appetizers. The mashed potatoes were soft and creamy and topped with some black pepper. The barbeque chicken was fresh off the grill and cooked to tenderness. And the cottage pie came in a large casserole dish that was way too big for one person to finish. Unfortunately, we were able to try the other 2 entrees.
The dessert list was short (only 2 items) so we ordered both. One was your average fruit platter and the other was this amazing apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. The apple crumble was still warm and having it with the ice cream was fantastic. It was a great end to the meal.
The brunch goes on until 4PM so you can continue to order as many drinks as you like. They have select beers, house wines, and your spirits (gin, vodka, tequila, whiskey).
Overall, the starters were our favourites because there were so many choices and it looks great when they all come at the same time. It’s kind of like a free for all the finger foods on the table. Combine that with endless drinks and live music, you’re in for a casual day out with friends for a decent price.
If you want to try the best Fish n Chips in town, this place is not to be missed. I was lucky to have stumbled in with hunger pangs and a craving for a bit of comfy food and I was delighted when my choice turned out to be a hit!
I loved how it was served with dainty sides of traditional mushy peas, tartare sauce, mayo, ketchup, good ole malt vinegar and a wedge of lemon.
Chips were just the perfect chippy style, not too soggy and not too crisp. The fish was just Mmmm... fresh cod nicely battered with a crispy batter that wasn’t dripping with oil.
I didn’t try any of their other stuff as that itself was a nice portion, enough to make me curl up on the sofa once home. But I would definitely recommend anyone who likes classic fish n chips to give it a try!
I usually go at Victor's on weekends. A great place to hangout with friends and colleagues since we all live close by. Even though the place is inside the Hilton, it's spacious. Great options for drinks and food. We would sure go again and again if they had some sort of rewards or special offers for regular goers like me!
Great place with wide options for drinks and food Ideal for watching all live sporting actions which is shown on the bigger screens. Perfect to catch up for chilling moments with friends. The staff is very attentive and friendly always eager to handle all requests. Most recommend to try their bar bites.
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere, music is good, sports TV, no shisha , you can smoke, fish and chips is great, burgers are ok, they have a billiard’s table and fuss ball
Good place to hang-out, drink and enjoy music.
The manager’s very friendly and regularly checks customers. The crew’s attentive in getting orders.
A very spacious bar with good food. I went there for a bingo night on Mondays and it was really fun. Prices are very reasonable and service is excellent.
This bar is cozily located in the lobby of the previous Rocco Forte hotel (now the Hilton Capital Grand). However, it isn't a part of the hotel as you might assume. I had a chance to go there recently for a round of drinks and snacks with office colleagues.
The place is laid out beautifully. A huge Krombacher-sponsored bronze pipe wall mural on the right, as you go in. Comfy seating all along the walls. Mounted TVs showing sports channels. And a central bar counter.
We had happy hour adult beverages. And ordered some food - nachos, chicken nuggets, potato and bacon croquettes, chicken wings & beef sisig. The servers were sweet & polite.
I refrain from giving a full score. Because the so-called 'fried chicken nuggets' were pitiful, to put it mildly. And the singing band was nowhere near what a place like that & its patrons deserve.
All-in-all a good find. And I'm happy.
