One of the best kebabs I had in recent past, wonderful mezze serving. It is great place to enjoy have a hearty Mediterranean meal. Don't think of work after this lavish treat!
After my long trip from Iraq i kept craving for Masgouf. Im glad they have this here in Abu Dhabi. This place houses authentic Iraqi dishes, servers and the owner are very friendly. I just wish they’ll have a smaller fish next time 🤪
Food was good, decor was nice, however the complimentary salad, hummus and lentil soup were lacking in seasoning/salt. We ordered zubaidi fish and mixed shawarma and both were great!
Good restaurant with great food and nice ambience.
Love their mix grill, however I personally feel that it's slightly overpriced compared to the quantity served.
But, a good place for Perfectly seasoned kebab
Good Food Makes Me Happy!😀
+5
Lovely ambience and friendly staff. I had been there during Ramadan time. Drinks , salad, dessert were complimentary. Meal portions were huge.
You really need to have an appetite to do justice to the place. Overall, wonderful experience. Would recommend it to all.
Traditional setup with a lovely ambience. Best place in winter months to enjoy the traditional fish prepared in the Iraqi style. Lamb kabab is another favourite here. Love this place.
If you are looking for a traditional Iraqi dish, this is the best place to go. Ambience is nice with the look and feel of classic Arabic interiors. Starters are tasty and portions are big. We ordered the signature dish maskoof fish, kebab and dolma. All taste delicious and they use the freshest ingredients. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.
If you are looking for a shawarma which is different from a regular one...then Maskoof is the right place. I loved the bread used in it which has a unique boat like shape making it easier to handle. They do not add any kind of tahina sauce or any parsely in it. All they add is chargrilled meat slices, juicy tomato slices, along with arabic pickle and lettuce. Its worth the try and and also a single shawarma is quite satifying one as compared to other regular shawarma shops.
This place serve the best Maskoof(fish) in the capital . It’s a famous Iraqi dish .
Loved their decoration very traditional and it’s a good place to go have business lunch or take a big group of people .me my self I took my brother with me and he really loved it .
We ordered a huge one and we managed to finish it easily

The fastest service you can possibly get +the originality of the place. The food is fresh, no complaints about it and ijln any case dont you dare missing try the fish which is the signature dish of this amazing place
Delicious Iraqi Food
We went here for dinner, and because it was quite late we couldn't order Maskoof fish, but we tried some other dishes which were so tasty. At the begging they are bringing some starters which are plenty of salads, humus and olives so delicious that you can barely eat also what you ordered :)). cannot remember what we ordered exactly but it was so delicious.
Staff is kind and the place looks really good and cozy.
After finishing your meal you can go outside on the terrace and enjoy some desserts with tea.
You should try eating here!
First of all it belongs to Iraqi cuisine not Persian. The food is very good, but we cannot say the same about the service as it needs to be improved.
I've tried the place 2 times back in 2015 and it's still in my memories.
I was lucky that first time I was with an iraqi friend who guides me trough the dishes.I've learned that time that Al Maskoof is the Iraq national dish and it's a must try, but unfortunately both times I went they didn't had it. I went at late hours and I guess thats why.
Regardless, the other dishes were full of taste as well.
I'm planing to go back soon to hopefully try the Al Maskoof fish.
Good ambience, very good service from the staff.
Good quality food, generous portions.
Highly recommend the Maskoof Fish which was nicely followed with an authentic Iraqi tea. Would go again 👌
It's nice place and delicious Iraqi food , the meals big but the prices over!! Any way I tried dolma, u should tell them to be good warm! 😏
Good.
We had an visit as per the feedback from friends
I the starter where amazing starting from salad 🥗 TIL bread 🥖 lentil soup 🍲
We tried Maskoof fish and Mixed grill .
fish was bit blend but the extra spicy 🌶 sauce provided by them made it tasty.
mixed grill was good
We tried their briyani rice ok kind of....
We tried their juice good both lassi ,mango juice, bananas 🍌 juice
After food we where given with good black tea along with dates
Ambience:Excellent
Service : Good
Conclusion : Must visit restaurant in Abudhabi
I had here there maskoof fish here Wow, Its out of the wolrd sooo yummy live it very much and there bread, soup and salad also nice staffs are little moody and very expensive. They should consider their price.
The fish, the fish, the fish! See it on your right as you enter, split straight down the middle and opened like a book, and then grilled to perfection beside a live fire...excellent! Meat was good, too, and although it feels pricey, servings are abundant and including several side dishes as well as fresh bread- a very good authentic Arabic meal.
We had Al Maskoof Iraqi fish here. Very delicious and would highly recommend without hesitation. Our waiters Mohammad Sajid and Ahmad Ibrahim were efficient and welcoming. All in all made our visit a special one.
I have tried their famous (maskoof) fish, I wasn't amazed by its taste as I expected from the reviews. But it was OK. I loved their side dishes with the fish :)
Went for a quick take away to Al Maskoof based on a cousin's recommendation. Tried their
1. Mutton Kouzi
2. Mixed Grill
The meat in the mix grill was one of the best I've tried in Abu Dhabi !
Totally recommend to all meat lovers
If you are a big fan of hummous you should try theirs out, the taste is something different but excellent !!!
Mutton Kouzi was amazing !
The rice is rich in flavor and so is the meat bursting with all sorts of flavors.
While waiting for my order, the staff welcomed us with some sweets and a refreshing juice (it was tang). The ambience looked bright and very welcoming.
Overall my experience at Al Maskoof Al Iraqi restaurant had been amazing and a must vist for all meat lovers !!!
The only down side would be price which I found to be on the pricier side.
One of the best restaurants in AUH... u gotta try the maskoof n the mouth watering lamb kouzi... not to forget the lentil soup... ambience is fantastic ...
The food here is pretty awesome if you're into Iraqi food, definitely try the Kebab! But what REALLY stands out is their Iraqi tea, I usually pass by the restaurant to just grab some tea! I would recommend this place.
Best food .the staffs are so friendly .shawarma is super .I will visit again.the food quality is amazing .all the best.keep going............
Delicious authentic Masqoof and grills. Kebap is nice, but it's the Masqoof that brings ua back. Great service, all meals served with fresh kobuz and real iraqi pickles and as is traditional in Iraq, the fish is served with special (falafel) sauce.
The food was awesome, and the services also. We enjoyed the salad, the bread, we couldn't order maskoof as we were only two persons and it only serve it in a big portion. The prices are bit higher than Iraqi restaurant in Dubai, but it deserve a trial.
Lovely place with beautiful interiors. I specially liked the multicolor tiles and faded wooden furniture. The service is excellent, even though the place was pretty crowded they let us sit at a bigger table, and the waiter explained and took us though the menu. We ordered grilled fish which was sweet, fresh and perfectly done. The sides were also delicious. Will definitely come back again.
One of the best restaurants in Abu Dhabi! Unlike most restaurants, they managed to maintain the quality and the unique taste of their food since they opened the place. The staff are extremely nice, even when someone comes to pick up food they offer complementary tea.
There isn't a specific thing to try here, its all amazing!!
Amazing ambience and food. The grilled fish is one to try. Salted and brushed with lemon, you'd expect the fish to be blunt, but it was surprisingly very tasty
Went with my coworkers for a Ramadan Iftar. The place was super crowded. But managed to get a table. The complimentary starters and juices are super delicious and the quality and quantity was very appealing. The overall quality of the food is super delicious. The prices are suitable in comparison to the quality and quantity.
The overall ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. The decor is very Iraqi/Levantine which is a nice addition to the menu and overall ambiance.
The staff are not friendly and come off as very condescending.
I would go there again if I felt like Iraqi food.
We were a group of 7 and ordered the fish one day ahead. We had no clue how big the fish will be, so we were happy that we ordered only one! Fish is being served with lentil soup, different kind of pickles, salads and bread. Food was very tasty and everyone paid around 55 Dhs. Highly recommended to enjoy the fish in a group.
المسكوف العراقي من عبق التراث العراقي. 🇮🇶
استمتع بالمشاوي الطازجه مع خبز التنور الساخن 👍🏻
this place has the best kebab in Abu Dhabi. it comes served with iraqi pickles. its very tasty and i recommend everyone to try it especially their meat products
Went for iftar yesterday, this place is delicious. We ordered the kouzi, fried chicken, hommous with meat and fattoush. The Kouzi was very succulent and great flavour. The service was a bit rushed and inattentive because it was iftar but was alright once service was complete. We got salad, fruits and tea all complimentary. The best thing about the place was the value for money. We got a 220AED bill with 2 main dishes and 2 mezzahs. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back to try more dishes! We didnt get to try the fish but it looked delicious on the bbq when we were walking in.
The special and amazing Iraqi dish ... almasgoof specialy in this place... well prepared very healthy and so tasty with a smoked flavor ...
Simplicity is the name of the game! 1 fish constitutes the main item of Maskouf Restaurant's menu. And the restaurant is called after its name. The Maskouf fish is indeed the star of the show here. And it has well deserved its fame! Very tasty and healthy meal option. Cooked in distinguished fashion allowing the fish to be moist inside and crunchy on the outside. Highly recommended dinning experience!
Had lunch here today, and by simply ordering two meals ( mixed grill & eggplant Uzi) I was able to enjoy an explosion of flavor.
The two meals came with a full set of appetizers that can make the hungriest of men fall to their knees.
For two it was 185 AED, a must try and encore as much as your heart desires.
As for the bad, the A/C was so strong that it disrupted the foodgasm.still after sitting outside enjoying the hot tea it was totally worth it.
Super healthy, yet super TASTY meal. Of course this restaurant has various options on its menu, yet the star of the show here, is the Maskouf fish. My favorite lean yummy protein intake after a workout. It is served with different salads and dips, and DELICIOUS freshly baked Iraqi bread.
Highly recommended!
Good place for an authentic Masgoof - This cooking technique is a speciality of Iraq: Few stakes are plunged into the ash, the fish (slightly salted) is propped on its side to roast against the flames (check out photos with this review). By roasting the fish vertically with the open side facing the fire, the oil seeps into the ashes, leaving salted, seasoned fish meat. After roasting the fish for nearly an hour, the undersides are singed directly on a pile of open coals.
The cooked fish has a very unique texture... juicy inside and crispy on the outsides. Traditionally served with a side of mango pickle. An absolute delight!
We had dinner there yesterday. Simple (although the process of cooking "masgouf" fish is quite a lengthy one), yet amazing food! The fish was perfectly cooked, moist in the middle with a crunchy skin. Great bread too, freshly baked in a "Tannour" oven. And the pickles and sauces served with the fish were all made with fresh ingredients and were very tasty. A simple yet flavorful Arabian experience. A great change from fancy places if you have guests, and want them to have an authentic experience.
One of the best traditional Iraqi restaurant in Abu Dhabi & UAE, serves the Iraqi Maskoof (grilled fish) & Iraqi Kabab & Barbecue. Al Maskoof is distinguished with his beautiful Interior & ambiance. Food is so tasty, specially the Grilled fish (Maskoof), the grilled lamb liver is also yummy. Kabab is tasty but too much heavy.
Very delicious food, tasty, the fish (maskof) like sweet in the mouth, the appetizers is many ,different kind, good made, the people working in the restaurant friendly ,polite ,helpful.
I'm highly advise my friends to go there.
I've been waiting to try this for so long and finally did.The decor is very nice, we were welcomed by smiling staff. The place was croweded luckily we found a table with no waiting time.Menu is a bit complicated for (Non arabs) as the dishes do not explain what exactly it is. My iraqi friend was there to guide us through the menu so we had no troubles. As you order 1 meal 3 complimentary lentil soups come on the table. The lentil soup was good, it came with a side of pickels, veggies, and lemon. They got us the side bread which wasn't fresh we complained and they directly exchanged with apologies for cripsy fresh bread which was incredible. (irani bread)We wanted to try their maskoof samak (fish) what they're known for but the waiter informed us that we had to wait 45 minutes for that, so we skipped it.We ordered 2 mixed grills and lamp motabak and green beans rice. The mixed grills we cooked very nicely, they tasted good, a lot of fat was on the meat which made it so soft and delicious. Lamp motabak wasn't very ideal to me which is basically tomato rice and piece of meat on top with the side of white beans and tomato sauce. The rice was a little bit dry and I didnt really like the meat on top as it was bland. After you finish your meal they serve complemintary tea (which is AMAZING) slices of watermelon's and a plate of arabic sweets (which were tooooooo sweet)I would love to visit again to try their fish.
Not the most attractive location to go visit in ad... But im pretty certain this place is really just all about the food.
Delicious food, fresh and you can tell because its quite packed for lunch time ( that typically a good sign for any restaurant, ususally means food is fresh thats important to a place thats main attraction is fish)
Salads are lovely (we tried rocket salad) , Eggplant stew fantastic/ kebabs and tikka fantastic/ bread to die for/ fish dishes are an absolute must! I actually never got to try the maskoof fish , but this place is definitely worth more visits and I will be sure to try thats specifically as its their specialty .
They are also generous with their portions, and serve a lot of delicious pickled vegetables, salad, soup for free prior to serving the meal and afterwards Iraqi tea and sweets (LOVE the tea)
Service not so great/ decor is actually very quaint and surprisingly nice for the look and location of the restaurant
never tried something good like this before totaly in love best fish , kbab tikka rice and best way to feel home thx for the great service...
Al Maskoof Al Iraqi is a nice place. The services are good and staff are friendly. definitely you are there to try the traditional Iraqi Maskoof fish... its very nice, fishes are big minimum of 3 KG, so at least you should be 4 persons ++...
I also tried the staffed cheep there.. amazing...
by the end they serve us the Iraqi tea made on charcoal.. very tasty. i recommend this restaurant.. you should try it :)For sure i'll back again.
Bg sze meal. Nice taste uniqie taste gokd staff. Its great to try it
Something amazing and nice to have
But dont go while you are on diet full of rice and diet
Masgouf or maskoof is absolutely awesome in this place...
Just make sure to go with at least 5 ppl as the fish weighs at least 2 kilos..
The side hummus and salads are nice too
This restaurant serves the best food ever, Iraqi Kabab, Qouzi, Maskoof fish, iraqi shawarma and Tashriba( my favourite). The do have private place for families. If you are starving and looking for the most delicious food with good ambiance just go to it. The serves the best tea in the planet. Strongly recommended ?
Plump iranian carp are exhibited impaled on wooden spits and set around an open fire. You can choose your fish from the fire. The tamarind basting goes very well with the fatty carp meat. The only down sode is that the fish start at around 2kg making the minimum party 3 people, and they beat be aerious eaters to go through a whole fish. Highly recommended.
This is my favourite restaurant in the town if you're an iraqi food lover this is a must to try as it's one of the best restaurant that serves iraqi cuisine.
One of the best grilled fish (maskoof) I have ever seen in UAE.the fish very well grilled salty and seasoned with pomegranate sauce on the top believe me you will enjoy every bite of it and it comes to you within mintues as it's already prepared on the isolated grilled room and not only this it comes with alot of appetiser like authentic iraqi pickled mixed vegi.sour cucumber, amba and fried aubergine with tomatoes which is all complimentary and after you finished you can drink as much as you want tea with cardamon which's prepared over charcoal this tea aids your stomach to digest this enormous amount of meat.
Serving good iraqi food tried twice , like the food . Place . Staff , nice free starters
For the people loves our heavy food ،،،، go abd try.
The fish is amazing. Hospitality is great, pre order the fish as it takes an hr to cook, but worth the wait! Its the best fish in town and a very authentic Iraqi dish!
I personally liked their Iraqi cuisine. They have a good variety of dishes for everyone to try. Although I can never say no to their kebabs... And god they are so deliciously juicy! Yes, I do agree that its a bit pricey but nevertheless the quality of their food is great. Do try it out. :)
Restaurant and food serving is good
But ..........
The cost is not informed properly before order. We ordered fish, their speciality, written as 75 AED only (not mentioned per Kg or what??) and when they billed us it was 275 AED alone for that fish.
So its better to ask them what will be the final bill of the food before placing an order :)
But after all the taste was really good. Thanks. SAL
