It was Nice Experience overall.
After trying many of his receipes from his YouTube channel, i can say that i am fan of kunal kapoor’s cooking. His receipes are always simple, easy to make and turns out delish!
Thats one reason why we were eager to visit NAMAK.
Upon arriving, i felt that this place looks much better in person. There are lots of good spots to take personal pictures e.g. the wall at the entrance is a pretty backdrop for a great picture and a tree just outside the restaurant. We were welcomed with ‘kala jeera drink’ shots followed by a basket of papad( I love fine dines that offer complimentary stuff, well who doesn’t love freebies ;)
What We ordered-
-Bread pakora(made with charcol batter)
-Shake shake(lotus stem chips with tamrind chutney and curd)
-tacos
-Gulab Jamun
-chenna tiramisu( this one is so yum; contains coffee liquaer and tastes heavenly)
we absolutely loved their hospitality and food. Staff is polite, friendly and cheerful. Orders are placed via iPad.

Ps: if you are visiting on a speacial occasion e.g. birthday, anniversary etc. Better to tell them in advance and be ready for a lovely surprise.
A must try dishes are Khitchda and Moliee fish curry.
Amazing experience...😊
Visited this place on the occasion of our 4 anniversary, great food great ambience
So we went here for our 3rd Wedding Anniversary, as soon as we walked in the Manager seated us to our table and we were greeted by a motherly Nepali woman called Sumila, Who excitedly gave recos on the food and drinks. The start wasn’t a good one, as the drinks, though looked very good but the taste was very poor. However, we moved on and well, the food overshadowed our drinks experience and we were blown away. We called for the Potato Gujia and the Khao Suey. Furthermore, we stuck to the basic drinking options, G&T for me and KF for her. The good part for a G&T connoisseur is that they serve Fever Tree Tonic. We then ordered for the Tiramisu and were pleased by the sweet gesture of the manager who for our anniversary got us a complimentary 2nd dessert, the Payasam. Boy, we wiped both of them ! All in all a good culinary experience, albeit the cocktails and the so-so ambience. And 5* for Sumila !
Had been for my 1st anniversary yesterday and i must say the service levels at the restaurant are superb, especially Musthafa & Sishir deserve a special mention.
We were given a brief of every dish we ordered and the presentation of all dishes was brilliant, especially "oops i dropped my chaat"
Main course options are limited but tasty. The team were courteous to bring a cake for my anniversary at the end :)
PS-ADCB Card holders get 20% off bill or alternatively Zomato gold is also available as of date.
Great place! Great food! Big thank you to Sumila for serving us so brilliantly! She was super sweet, warm and kind to my family and i, with brilliant knowledge on the menu! She's a star! Keep it up!
Good location and child friendly. Limited options for vegetarian food in A la Carte. However, the available options are good with excellent mix of spices.
I loved the Dahi Ke Kabab!
Sauve, elegant and sophisticated. The hospitality was great. Will go again for sure.
Went there for the first time, We decided to skip the tasting menu and order individual dishes, the service is outstanding , our waiter sumila was very nice and helped us to choose the dishes, simply amazing place
Amazing food and very courteous staff... grab the seat and leave everything else on the really professional servers.. I went by their recommendations and it was truly worthy..
This is one of the place where you can order anything and you will not regret.
Crab & Mango Salad and Kadhai Chiken are must to try...
Nice selection of cocktails and mock tails makes it perfect for family gathering.
Yet another scrumptious meal at Namak!! Authentic Indian food and a lovely atmosphere too. We ordered the duck tartlets to start which were delicious and the prawn mooli curry and butter chicken for mains. Safe to say we thought it was the tastiest butter chicken we've ever had. To finish, my husband had room for dessert and ordered the gulab jamoons - they came stuffed with a little bit of saffron and a small cashew nut - absolutely divine. Service was quick, courteous and professional, even though the restaurant was quite busy. Namak has got to be one of my favourite Indian restaurants in AD! We will definitely be back soon.
Brilliant presentation, delicious food and great service. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Namak and would recommend it to anyone looking for good Indian food
Very well done Kunal Kapoor, the food was splendid and very authentic - been a while since we had such good Indian food in Abu Dhabi, better than some stylish signatures we thought and to top it superb value for money.
Great ambience, courteous and kind staff, less options but delicious food in taste, super yummy Diwali special dessert served... Mustaffa served us and made us happy with the service.. Keep it up.. Would like to visit soon again
An amazing experience. Been there four times and everytime I feel compelled to share my experience because it is so good. Well done to the kitchen and service team. If there was a ranking higher than five stars, you would get it. Thank you.
Loved the ambience..and the food.
We tried the brunch and loved it: Fantastic atmosphere, outstanding delicious food, beautiful presentation, great service. We loved it 💕
It was amazing experience with the ten course meal. I love sumila. She was very friendly and helpful. She also kept my daughter entertained and happy. The food tasted delicious. The quantity was great. But the desert options could be better. All in all great food and service. Will definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Loved the ambiance and friendliness of staff. Food portions are adequate unlike most fine dining places I have visited 😀
Vegetarian options are available but the menu is not lengthy. Overall, place worth visiting again 👍🏻
Three course meal! We tried both the menu - veg n non veg... i moreso wanted to try Khichda coz that is what won me the prize with @entertainerdxb
🙃
The first item served was namak para with butter made at @namak_dusitad and a small starter (mini stuffed bun) with chutney 😋
Then came the chicken taco and bunny bhaji - just too yum, can be put in words especially the taco 🤩
The main course was Nalli korma (slow cooked lamb shank, robust masala gravy) and khitchda! Hubby and I already felt full after having the khichda. Nalli Korma was too good - tasted like Nihari reminding us of Hyderabad (tasted just same like old city nahari, gravy here was quite thick though)
Closed it out on a sweet note - with Chenna Tiramisu ... mini rasmalai, espresso, peanut chilli and mascarpone... unlike the Italian signature Tiramisu this was served kn a plate! Both of us have a sweet tooth and hence enjoyed every bit of it 😍
All in all was a ma shaa Allah treat!!! Great food, nice ambience and not to forget awesome staff 👍
We’ve just had the most delicious meal at Namak. The quality of food and service always lives up to our expectation. We highly recommend the prawn mooli, and the duck tartlets which were divine. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. Our waitress - Shamila - was polite, helpful and friendly. Top class service. They have recently dropped their prices and in addition give you an extra 20% off the final bill. Well worth the meal.
One of the best fine dining restaurants that iv come across. Loved the ambience, the decor. It was beautiful. We had a table reserved as it was a friend's birthday. Welcomed by polite and great staff.
We were welcomed with jal jeera, a refreshing drink and with some bread and different kinds of butter. It was interesting. Along with that was a cute mini aloo burger.
For starters we had the chicken tacos, which was amazing.. The tortilla/ bread was soo soft and amazing. Loved the fillings of chicken Tikka, apricot chutney and the crispy potato. It was too good. For the main we had nalli korma with roti, the lamb was soft and the flavours were amazing. And for the dessert we had the chenna tiramisu. Simply amazing. The mini rasmalai were too cute. And the best thing is, they serve an alcoholic and non alcoholic version.😉
There is a lot of thought and creativity that's put into each of the dishes and it can be seen on the plate, which is amazing. Loved evrything.
Overall, it was a great experience. Made our evening, a memorable one. Staff were really good and made sure we were comfortable. Would definitely come back to try out more on the menu.
All the food was delicious and the service was great and the staff smiling all the time, one of the best Indian restaurants, I would like to try it again because it really deserves 😍👌
We visited the restaurant on 13th Aug for lunch 2 people to celebrate my husbands Birthday.
We are from Bahrain, so I planned to book a table to avoid any last minute chnage. The booking process was very convenient and i was assisted well.
The ambience starting from the Hotel entrance was lively and soothing to the eyes. The restaurant per se was nice and pleasant. I was expecting more Indian touch to the ambience but overall had a very classy look.
Coming to the food, we are Indians with preference of vegetarian food.
The food was awesome , well presented and soothing the Indian taste buds. In the starters the youghurt kebabs (never had such well prepared youghurt kebabs) stole the show and the dark garlic sauce in the chenna bruschetta starter was yum.
The main course was dal tadka and Paneer kibbhe was good . A point here in Paneer kibbeh, it was cooked very well but had the sour taste in curry as well as the kibbehs which was not pleasing to the tongue and it overpowered other flavours. The garlic Nan was perfect. The tandoori Roti was bit on dry side.
Overall my husband and I loved the place , ambience and food.
Now coming to our dessert Chenna Tiramisu. I had ordered it while booking the table as i wanted a dessert but not a cake for the birthday surprise . The team went out of the way to complete a request to present it in a cake form and yummiest taste.SPECIAL thanks to Mr. Yasar for coordinating this.
Ambience: 4/5
Veg food taste : 4.5/5
Food presentation: 4.5 /5

Please be seated and fasten your seat belt as you are going to take a ride into the world of fine dining in true contemporary indian style with the dishes curated by none other than the celebrity chef and India's Master Chef Kunal Kapur.
I happened to visit the restaurant for a holi dinner and the entire place had the true vibes of the festival in there. With colors and flowers sprinkled on all the tables. With the festive fever in air we were served a true thandai depicting holy and then followed by the food. We had ordered the classic raj kachori which the chef usually calls it "oops!! i dropped my chat", a bao which was filled with spicy chana and topped with a simple salad of tomato, cucumber and onions. And finally in the main course it was classic veg biryani!
The culinary adventure certainly hit the spot and did tempt our taste buds with sensitive flavors that took us through a voyage of sweetness, tanginess and spiciness. Each dish was delectable and served to flawless by the great staff.
Good ambiance and fine dining
Musthafa provided good service and Sunila welcomed us with a smile .
I would recommend the restaurant for fine dining in Abu Dhabi
A great spin on flavors. Some dishes may seem unorthodox, but are sure to tantalize your taste buds. All the ingredients used are top shelf and it shows. I do suggest an increase in starters quantity but with the main course, we were full.
Ambience is very nice and the furniture, comfortable.
Service is very swift and servers are very friendly. All your needs will be catered to here.
Excellent fine dining experience. Friendly polite staff who recommends you well as per yr likings . Well placed menu and best presentations.. loved every bit of it ..
Spices are pecfect and proper blend of all ingredients..
Would recommend everyone yo experience namak by super celebrity chef kunal kapoor s style ..
From ambiance food service is really amazing experience very knowledgeable staff and personalize service . Thank u for the great team sumila n Amira and the guy at service u are great in hospitality
Very good presentation of Food .. staff a very friendly and will explain everything in details
Food tastes Yum and ambience is very nyc ..must visit
Good atmosphere & good service serving by Sumila. We enjoyed the taste of fusion food especially chicken tacos and wonderful starter opps i drop my chaat with 24 caret gold dusting and blast flavored sauce. We love chicken biryani and cod fish too.
The waiter that was serving us Sumila was very sweet and friendly, she made our experience x100 better. The restaurant has a good range of options to choose from. The butter chicken was my favorite. I was really impressed that they had the #iamnotplastic straws.
We dined here a couple of day ago for a birthday dinner. Their food was downright delicious but their winner, were their signature cocktails and you won’t find them anywhere else!
The service staff were welcoming and accommodating of all our requests. Thank you team!
I Booked in this place for my wedding anniversary after I got it as a Recommendation in Zomato.
Experience exceeded my expectations.
Really Tasty food, Fair portions.. not small as you could expect in fine dining and not big .. you don't get over-full yet you enjoy full experience.
Service was good too. Staffs were Friendly and Fast in response. They were kind enough to even answer some questions about ingredients of some recipes 😁
Highly Recommended
Food that enhances your tastebuds and outstanding customer service by Yasar and Selvina that touches heart — if u r looking for this, do visit “Namak by Kunal Kapoor” Abu Dhabi
Very delicious food and excellent service. Very good ambiance. I would definitely visit this restaurant again. I also highly recommend it and you will love it.
Definitely one worth visiting - that 10 course culinary journey definitely hit the spot and tantalized our taste buds with intricate flavors that took us through a journey of sweetness, Tanginess and spiciness. Each dish was delicious and served to perfection by awesome and super friendly staff - the reason it didn't earn 5 stars though was the atmosphere .. they need to work on that, and we had a kid screaming on the table next to us at 11pm which made our experience less enjoyable though it's not something within their control of course!
We have been looking to visit Namak for a while and finally this weekend we visited.
Ambience of the restaurant is casual but the staff there are so polite and sweet. I would specially like to thank Sumila who made our experience so wonderful.
We went for the set menu..the quantity was just fine so that you don't over eat. Though towards the end of the journey I was quite stuff.
I would have preferred a better dessert option. I guess I enjoyed all the 10dishes however my favorite being the Chaat, Duck tart, lamb.
Excellent taste and presentation of food.. we tried the shake shake which was unique. We were also served with complimentary samples of matar kulcha.. hospitality was amazing

Excellent atmosphere and excellent customer service. The food was soo good, I really ended up having a great time with burst of flavors 🤩🤩🤩🤩 highly recommend
One of the best place to get pampered and with Great service from start to end
We were here for the 10 course set menu and through Groupon it was worth the money , although compared to Saturday brunch some items lack the Indian taste by some margin however
~ the lamb chop was very nice In look and taste
~ the ever green Nadru is crisp as ever
~ the palate cleanser was refreshing to have between the starter & main course
~ the black cod fish with rice & curry was tasty and different
~ saag buratta was nice complement for the evening
Rest ( drink , biryani duck tart , crab starter & desert ) was ok
We were here for our Anniversary.... and we opted for Namak based on the reviews what we saw in Zomato and our Anniversary turned out to be a good mouthwatering treat
From the welcome drink to desert all turned to be awesome..
Started we ordered duck roast tart and prawns started.. it was great innovation with a good taste..
Later we ordered Biriyani which was mouth watering..each single rice was nice done with the dum flavor completely packed in the dish..
And lastly we ordered the crime brûlée Mukwas.. and it was heaven.. well presented
And as our anniversary was declared by my 5 year old daughter.. they have us the surprise chocolate cake
All together the experience was soooo good.. that I would really love to try their menu again and again
I received a voucher to try this place since it had opened newly and some promotion was on-going and oh, the DELIGHT! Excellent service, friendly staff, good interiors and amazing food. That sums up my visit.
Since I hail from India, this place with Indian fusion food was really a treat to my eyes and palate. Was so impressed with the presentation of the food and drinks. Needless to mention, the “oops I dropped my chaat!” dish has gotten super famous and it looks so lovely (and so instagrammable) that u think twice before eating it - atleast I did before digging into it. We also had the Kadai Chicken main course & the Chenna Tirasmisu - both served very differently and great taste.
Definitely a must try for the food and concept of how each dish is presented. Will definitely be visiting to try a lot more.
I was pretty impressed by the presentation..
Welcoming drink was not fun, salt and lime!! lol.. I couldn't drink it..
But food was good, chaat was very good..
The disappointment parts were the dessert and the drink.. the dessert was only tiny bits of creams scattered here and there. And the drink was literally 2 sips not worth the price..
But overall, experience was good..
* Will I go back again! Sure..
I had dinner recently at Namak by Kunal Kapoor and was blown away by the food. This was truly an amazing experience but make no mistake: this is not traditional Indian food. Yet the authentic Indian flavors are respected and every dish is a feast for the eyes. The presentation is modern, colorful with some accents of molecular cuisine. The service was in keeping with the overall delightful experience and the Manageress did a wonderful job in selling us a tasting menu; probably the best way to discover these superb and flavorful dishes. A must try at the Dusit Thani Hotel Abu Dhabi.
Please take a seat and a deep breath, because you’re about to take a journey into the universe of very fine-dining contemporary Indian style – with the dishes created by none other than celebrity chef Kunal Kapur of India’s MasterChef. But first, let’s have a look around. The Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi is an elegant five-star hotel, and therefore it is suited to hosting Namak – the decor is brilliantly executed, with an artistic palette of colors, and a variety of private nooks for comfort and easy conversation.
While i start writing this I hope zomato does'nt restrict me from putting on all those words I have for the experience we had @Namak Abu dhabi. To start with let me say " A pristine experience". I went to Namak to celebrate my wife's birthday(well no one in Namak knew about that until before leaving I mentioned to one of the staff there on my way out). I always like fine dining and if it's an experience where you feel you are being taken care like someone so important is at home then that's what i say is the feeling I had in Namak..a feeling of a Private Fine dining experience where you feel being Royally treated, the staff Sayooj and others ensuring that each course is served with utmost attention. I am usually a fan of well presented visually appealing food presentation and if over and above it if each elements in food and the taste is top class then what to say you feel you are at the King's table(may be even you will feel you are being treated like the king lolz)...well I felt all those at Namak spending few hours there. Unfortunately Chef Kunal was not around ,if he was I would have just given him a hug - being a fan of him right from the day I used to watch him in Master Chef. Some of the dishes i felt which stood out was Kerala Duck Roast Tart,Fall of the Bone,Oops I dropped my chaat- I love presentations where people use some elements of red - so the strawberry sauce in the plate was my kind of stuff. By the time we reached desert we were full but how can we not eat something which is coming out of Namak's kitchen - Payasam dulce de leche was awesome, apple cinamon sirkhand was fine but i am more inclined to bit more to de leche..maybe next time the Chennai Tiramasu would be one to try.
I am not falling short of words but if i don't stop I can keep on writing and writing for Namak.
To Summarize - A michelin star restaurant experience - well for me this is 5 star review rating worth. Ambience - well like i said before i felt private fine dining treatment and hope in future visit also i get the feel; Value for Money - Well some experiences cannot be tied to money - priceless
What I missed - Meeting Chef Kunal Kapoor..I Wish someday that becomes reality, eat one of his dishes i like from the Master Chef - Kunal Ka Phool Surprise and well experience live cooking with him around.
Bonjour!
It is our second time dining in to one of the best Indian restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Our guests from France love the ambiance, food is superb and the service deserves a five star. Sumila is very nice and attentive to her guests always.
Á bientôt!
Had a celebratory evening with loved ones. The vast array of food and the accompanying flavors - excites your senses. The food presentation was awesome.
The service was prompt and Mustapha was very accommodating. Will be back definitely!
Went for the Groupon 10 course experience - mixed reviews about the food but for the price was a good experience. They listened to the feedback and made changes to the menu but needed to confirm booking a few times which was frustrating. The signature chaat was really good - probably the highlight of the evening!
Wonderful experience !! The saturday brunch is a like a Taste bud quest conqured after a long while !
The kulcha chole or the pav bhaji mini bun till the desserts .. everthing was on point and delicious ! Soo much vareity with great taste !
Polite helpfull staff plus the great location and ambience is cherry on top !!
Head on for a perfect brunch to this place and enjoy !
We tried 10 course menu which was good , but only if you have groupon deal .
Presentation and staff is excellent ! But i would prefer the saturday brunch over 10 course menu !
We lived our evening at Namak. We both had the Indian Food Journey and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. The ambience and service was outstanding. An outstanding fine dining experience.
From the moment we stepped inside till the time we cleared the check, it was indeed an amazing dining experience! The highly trained team at Namak made sure our dining experience stayed true to our expectations! Special mention to Sameela for her courteous and attentive service and last but not the least, thanks to Sayooj for crafting that special Coconut cocktail! We loved the spread of rose petals on our table and my wife! Thanks for making our Valentine's evening truly memorable!
The first time i visited Namak I sampled only a few of the vegetarian dishes like bread pakora & khichdaa. I liked it so much I came back to taste their non vegetarian fare. The kerala duck tarts, nalli korma, haleem kebabs, payasom, mango lassi, all were superb & the service was exceptional.
What a beautiful place to dine ! We went to this place for Valentine’s day dinner, and i cam say that its one of the best places to have cuisines which are so innovative, so delicious, so sumptuous !!
Absolutely loved each one of the preparation.
Anyway I am a die hard fan of chef kunal kapur, and this place made me a bigger fan of him
Surely gonna repeat again !
Love love love
I went for my anniversary. It’s a good new fine dinning restraunt found Kunal Kapur was present there interacting with guests. The presentation of the food is good. The variety of the food is a bit less and taste is Typical punjabi restraunt in delhi. Overall a very good experience and can be visited frequently if you like Indian food with great presentation.
What a great experience!!
My wife is a big fan of Kunal Kapur (who's not?) and we went all the way from Dubai to Abu Dhabi for Dinner.
Very nice ambience, staff was welcoming and the atmosphere made us feel good.
"Oops I dropped my Chaat" a catchy name and the starter definitely tickled our taste buds. Everything we tried was delicious and there was an element of novelty.
We were offered a complementary chocolate cake and it was mouth watering.
The biggest treat for the evening was to meet the Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur himself.
Being a die hard fan of Chef Kunal Kapur the visit to his newly opened restaurant in Abu Dhabi was actually quite overdue. But as they say all good things are worth the wait.
With an amazing menu- such difficult choices.. we finally settled on tbe following
For starters:
1. Haleem Kabab (4/5) - such a melt in mouth divine experience. Made us actually order another round but we had more dishes to devour
2. Oops I dropped my chaat (4/5)- an interesting take on Raj kachori. Who new passion fruit chutney would taste so great.
3. Chicken Malai Tikka (3/5)- failed to impress and was just another chicken tikka.
For the main course
1. Saag Burratta (4.5/5) my favourite of the night! Such an amazing twist on palak paneer. I could just eat the Dish by itself. And the butter toasted buns served alongside were on point!
2. Chicken tikka masala (3.5/5) tender well marinated chicken in a rich gravy.
3. Kitchda (4.5/5) mushroom barley risotto with a Rasam (yes, rasam!!) SAUCE. Another favourite of the night.
Desserts:
1. Paan flavoured creme brulee (3/5)
2. Mango lassi soft serve (could have been a bigger portion 😁)
All in all a great dining experience, with a chance to meet the chef himself.
Definitely worth a repeat visit cos there's so much more on the menu left to try!!
For more reviews and pictures please follow @wheresdinnertonight on instagram.
We went for the 10 dishes menu dinner and were amazed by the quality, taste and presentation of all the dishes. Our waitress Sumila was very professional and kind. Everything was perfect. So far the best Indian restaurant. We highly recommend you to try it!
Had the set menu during Chef Kunal’s visit. This is the best Indian food I have had so far and with the set menu we were able to try more than 10 dishes. Meat off the bone, Duck tart and the Tacos were my favorite entrees with the duck a close winner, and the meat biryani was a delight however we were too full by the time we got to the main dishes.
The staff are very friendly and the chefs take pride in their food which is something Chef Kunal has instilled. Got to meet him as well as he is in his regular visits.
Highly recommend it to everyone to try this new restaurant in Abu Dhabi.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Abu Dhabi. The food was amazing. Service was excellent. Someone was always around our table making sure everything was perfect for us. The menu especially is something new which I haven’t seen before. Definitely will be going there once every month to try all their dishes.
Food was really nice and so was the ambience. Currently, there are very less options for vegetarians, looking forward to taste the new additions soon. Oops i dropped my chaat was just amazing. The staff is very hospitable and make you feel very comfortable. Finally Abu Dhabi has one of the best Indian restaurant. They topped it up by bringing a nice cute little cake for the birthday !! Keep it up all Namak Staff & Management, looking forward to come back soon.
This place has a great point in Zomato.
That why we went .Experience was good .
Ambiance 5::::4*
Service. 5::4.5*
Good. 5::3.5
Finally okey... Must Indian food excellent
Our first time dining experience at Namak, family dinner and also celebrating my Dad's birthday. The restaurant ambience is nice and cosy, sitting spacing also good. The hostess - was very courteous, helpful and sound knowledge of the menu and the dishes. Our appetizers, main course and dessert were all excellent in taste. However portions could be individualistic if you are a heavy eater. The cocktails and mocktails were also good. Service was excellent and attentive. Palate changers were also good and the welcome drink was refreshing too. The only complaint is the veg options are very limited and very basic which is a bit surprising for a fine dining restaurant, expected a variety of dishes as seen in other fine dining Indian restaurants where I have been namely Tresind, Mint Leaf, Indego to Signature, Jodhpur etc. In any case maybe they have just newly opened so possibly options are limited for time being and might gradually add on dishes on the menu. Overall a nice experience, might visit again and also welcome to Namak in Abu Dhabi and wishing them great success.
The place has a lovely ambience and has some exceptional dishes to try starting out with the homemade flavored butters which is something unique and is packed with flavor. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to requests made, even if it was alternating with a dish from the set menu, which is quite rare. They made it a point to explain what was being served and the turn around was quick. The lamb chops and the duck tart are a must try and would say are their signature distohes. Have to mention Mr Sayooj’s (from Canaanite, kerala - specifying since I may have misspelt) assistance and a beautiful mocktail served on the house to try.
Would definitely recommend the place and did notice some interesting drinks menu as well.
Had the opportunity to visit this amazing place for a family dinner .
Every starter and main course we're scrumptious .
The service was top notch and the ambience was 5 star .
Must visit for a amazing food .
Fusion at its finest! @namak_dusitad has brought the best of India’s cuisine to the lab and the result is the wildest variety of international combos. 😍 We’re talking creme brûlée, bruschetta, burratta— in an Indian restaurant! It’s fun, creative and delicious. The recipes have had a lot of work put into them, with even the smallest bites packing 6 different sauces. 😱We loved everything but our favorites were the Kerala Fried Chicken and creme brûlée. They both pack just the right crunch, the difference being that one is a savory twist on traditional Indian chicken and the other, a yummy spiced take on a historically bland dessert. The bruschetta was also a tasty surprise. If you like more potent cheeses with a sweet tinge, you’ll love this.Special shout out to the extremely hospitable staff! They go above and beyond to make dinner as comfortable as it is cool.
1. To start of with location wise its quiet hard to find the place without knowing it through acquaintances or social media.
2. The food was perfect but I personally didn't like the kerala duck roast tart and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
3. The kerala fried chicken though had a unique flavor burst and it is something I have never had.
4. The mouth freshener I got was something I liked and even asked for more. It is also referred to as paan.
5.the service was good and staff was friendly.
6. The food was good but at the same time expensive so this would probably be a one time go for me.
It was thorough delightful experience. We tried a variety of appetizers where Katifi Fried Prawns and the chaat were the highlight. Seabass and The Kadhai Chicken are most recommended main courses. The decor is well lit and beautifully designed. Special mention to the Chef, Ankit Pahuja for his time and efforts in making our evening a very special one indeed. Thank you Team Namak by Kunal Kapur.
The new kid on the culinary block, Namak follows the arduous task of making Indian cuisine not just palate friendly, but plate-friendly. I ambled in as an afterthought last week, and boy was I in for a treat. The restaurant is done up elaborately & the service borders on fine-dine etiquette.
The Abu Dhabi Food Festival happened to be on, so I decided to try the non-vegetarian menu selection option, as it's the best way to get a taste of multiple items without breaking the bank. The dishes were done up beautifully and were presented in a timely, course-by-course manner - with the server explaining how best to eat each one.
On the flavour scale, the soup, bao bun & lamb shank definitely overshadowed the rest of the dishes on offer. For drinks, I enjoyed a smoke Laphroaig with a 'desi' beer.
Attendant Sumit (from Rajasthan, I believe) was a debonair host. Welcome to Abu Dhabi, Namak. And wish you complete success!
I moved to Abu Dhabi six months back and tried every indian restaurant rated on TripAdvisor but this one is the best in town. We have two year old son who sat one hour continuously enjoying the delicious food, this has never happened. Highly recommend the pomelo salad and saag burrata. Never had these dishes before in my life. Many thanks to the the entire team managing the show.
Just had one of the best Indian meals in Abu Dhabi so far.
Don’t walk! Run to take advantage of the special AD food festival tasting menu at Indian celebrity chef Kunal Kapur’s new restaurant “Namak” at Dusit Thani. Can’t believe that they are offering such quality preparations and so much variety at just 149dhs and applying an additional 30% off for a limited period.
Every dish was bursting with flavor. Special attention was given to food texture and presentation. The dishes demonstrated solid variety of technique combining traditional Indian flavors with modern twists. It’s a risky proposition and the only restaurant in AD I can think of that has successfully managed to do this is Tamba. Tamba finally has decent competition!
Love the open kitchen. Always fun to check out the live action. Service was a bit overly courteous and hence a bit intrusive at times. In a multi-course meal it’s odd to ask for feedback after every course and sometimes by multiple people. Chef Kunal graciously accepted any feedback we gave him.
The restaurant lacks outdoor seating and hence can’t take advantage of the lovely weather.
Very curious to try other dishes in their menu! Will be back soon.
Starting with their in-house Indian crispy bread, which they serve with 4 different types of butter (honey curry, cumin, garlic chili, and saffron). We knew this was going to be something different. So many flavours to choose from, so many surprises. This was shortly followed by the chef’s Amuse-bouches – the Bhaji65. It is a bite-sized fried vegetable with 5 different sauces (tamarind, fig, tomato, yogurt, and lime) surrounding it. The server suggested the proper way to eat it; to use your fingers, pick up the vegetable, and swirl it in all 5 sauces before eating it. It was amazing, to say the least.
Next up were the cold appetizers which includes the pomelo salad (one of my favourites) which was served with dry ice in a fancy bowl. The pomengranate seeds and pomelo adds a light and refreshing taste atop the greens.
Tuna tartar – Served with nori chips and an assorted green salad and Indian chat (mini crumbling chips with spices).
KFC (Kerala Fried Chicken) – a play-on concept of the original KFC, but what’s special is that they use 3 types of flour (corn, rice, and ground). The batter was not too thick and the chicken leg was tender (albeit it is dark meat).
Kerala Duck Curry Tart – This is a fantastic appetizer. It has a pastry-based crust with duck curry, raspberry chutney, coconut flakes, and garnished with a curry leaf. Because it does have curry, there is some spicyness to it but it was just mild to me. The spices do carry over into the aftertaste and the flavour is quite strong. Pair this with one of their mocktails and it is a fantastic delight.
Main Courses
If you didn’t start craving Indian food yet, don’t worry, those were just the appetizers. It was quite a bit to try but they were all so delicious. Now let’s move onto the main courses.
Lamb Loin – Served a very unique bone marrow plates are (photo-worthy), the lamb meat is wrapped in a thin layer of potato pastry (similar to a Wellington dish). It is paired with their traditional Kolkata mustard which does boast a strong flavour but once you eat it, you’ll know it’s a match made in heaven. The tenderness of the lamb mixed with the soft puffy pastry swirling with the mustard, it is so good.
For veggie-lovers, they have a lentil curry (Dalmaki?), which is slow-cooked for 48 hours. Despite being lentil-based, it is a light curry and is eaten with bread or rice.
The last entree we tried was one to remember – the black cod with vegetable fried rice. On the side is some coconut curry for the rice. The cod is surprisingly soft and buttery. It has some sweet pomengranate seeds and they use fish roe as garnish to add texture. Put that all together and you have a perfect main course.
Desserts
By this point, we couldn’t even finish everything and they were ready to serve desserts. They have the more traditional cumin pudding which wasn’t too sweet but nice finish to the meal.
If you’re more into cold desserts, they make a fantastic mango lassi soft serve (comes with a matcha-flavoured cone)! We both preferred the cone 🙂
Beverages
If you’re wondering why we haven’t mentioned any drinks, it’s because I decided to comment on them last as they were the most unique items throughout the entire night. Their concept is to try new things and they definitely pushed it to the limits. Their cocktails are all carefully concocted by the bartenders, who can come to your table and provide recommendations based on your preferences of sweet, salty, spicy, or light.
Santa Banta – It is a raspberry slush-based cocktail, semi-sweet, and great as a palette cleanser in between the courses.
My Deer Sangria – A cocktail with apple and cinnamon powder art (great for photos!) and is served with diamonds! How fancy is that?! It has a very strong flavour so be warned!
The most unique cocktail we tried during the evening was a very interesting one (unfortunately, I don’t recall the name of it). Ituses vodka and Greek yogurt as its base with some hazelnuts (which gives off a sweet aroma). This drink is not for everyone. It is not sweet but rather a bit bitter with strong aftertaste. If you prefer a stronger drink or you wish to try something new, this might be on your list!
Visited Chef Kunal Kapoor’s new Indian restaurant - Namak at the Dusit Thani Hotel for dinner last night. Had a chance to try out a 11 course set menu which is available for diners till 22 December. We tried out both the veg and non-veg menu and loved it. Vast range of options, with a new spin on some classic dishes and loads different flavours... we were spoilt for choice.
My personal favourites were the Pomelo with Black Namak salad, the Lotus stem shake shake, the really good mushroom Khichada, Hammour, and the Chicken Tikka Tacos.
The staff is very courteous and extremely friendly. Special shout out to Yasser & Sumila for the lovely service. It made it a memorable night.
At 190 AED this a steal deal. 😀 Pics of some of the dishes attached. Was too busy eating to get pics of all. 😂
Fantastic experience. Food was mind blowing so was the presentation & Namak team’s knowledge of each food they served. The cocktails & dishes recommended by them exceeded our expectation. Namak surely does have one of the best team I’ve come across. Loved the way Sumila & Sayooj were paying attention to their diners. I wish Kunal & Team Namak all the success and look forward to seeing you soon.

The best dinner I have had in the last few months. I was served by the amazing chef Kunal himself. He was completely mind blowing and catered to my every need.... something I totally didnt expect from a celeb chef. All the items in the menu are totally amazing and a must try.
I visited this beautiful place with my family for my parent’s anniversary.
The restaurant is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Loved the ambience and the courtesy of the people who were serving!
The food is just mind blowing!
All the dishes are creative. I would definitely recommend the Oops I dropped my chaat, Bread Pakora and the Kadhai Chicken, amongst the cocktails the Deccan drink, and for the dessert the Deconstructed Tiramisu.
They even celebrated by parent’s anniversary with the Fall in Love mocktail which they absolutely loved!
This place is worth the visit!

Diwali evening for an Indian Foodie means an eve to relax and relish some awesome food. With that intention, my wife and me went to explore the recently opened Restaurant NAMAK by one of the celebrity Chef KUNAL KAPOOR. Our Attendant Mr Yasar was courteous enough to explain the concept of the restaurant as well as the menu and we zeroed upon the special set menu for Diwali – a nice course meal.
It began with nice minty appetizer to tickle our gastric juices. The condiment of Namak para with four varieties of butter graced the table. This was followed by a variance of Dahi Bhalla and papaddam topped with salsa and foamy mint chutney.
The presentation and innovation itself spoke about the dishes to follow the course.
Pan fried Eggplant layered with Garlic yogurt and apple salsa, Grilled Prawn Salsa over black pepper sauce opened the innings of the course. Next followed was dehydrated Lotus stem chips sprinkled with chilly dust and aam-papad ketchup + ranch raita. Pomello salad over dried ice was waiting for its turn and so was Activated charcoal battered bread Pakoda.
Innovative presentation and garnishing with Lemony foam and roasted Dal with dry tomato+onion salsa made a standard Dal Shorba look divine.
With all this, Pan shorbet as palate cleanser was absolutely necessary.
The Main course started with KHITCHDA a variance of mushroom risotto with barley replacing the rice and this indianized version of Risotto in addition to Baked Spinach with Burra cheese and peanut crumble – again a variance of standard Palak paneer along with Dal Makhni in its authentic form did full justice as Main Course.
How can Diwali be without sweets and this place ensured that they will satiate your sweet-tooth completely. Artistically presented Payasam and Mango Lassi in form of softy in green tea cone were the perfect showstoppers.
Full credit to Chef Kunal for this wonderful concept and well managed by courteous staff including Ms Sanam, Mr Yasser and a Sri Lankan guy (apologies of not recollecting the name) for our table, didn’t make us miss India on this occasion.
Definitely a five star rating.
