Tried their SHAWARMA and it was beyond the expectations. True Lebanese Shawarma wrapped in Kuboos........ Recommended for its taste, quantity and price. :) Thumbs Up.

About 8 years ago, this was the first place in Abu Dhabi where I tried South Indian delicacies and they have some delicious breakfasts in their menu. And to be honest they are quite good in what they offer. 👍

When you have come to nmc and that too empty stomach, the next place you should go to is this. I have been here every time I visit nmc.. even just for tea.. coz even tea here remind you of home. Next time you visit nmc empty stomach and searching for a good place to eat, give this place a try.. everything about this place is homely.

I ordered mini tiffin from here.It was not good as i expected.I couldn't get the feel of each items in the tiffin.The delivery was on time and the packing also good.

I tried several places in Abu Dhabi city for pani puri but was always disappointed till I tried it here. The pani puri here was probably the best I have tried in Abu Dhabi. I go here many a times for breakfast as well and their Sada Dosa, Masala Dosa and Poori Bhaji are our breakfast favorites.

Surprising how this small place has such lovely food. The food is always hot and fresh even when delivered. The place is clean and the staff is sweet. Dosa is available all day long which is honestly the best part for me unlike other places that only offer dosa for breakfast.

Yummy spicy chicken shawarma, really enjoyed it from many other places that we have tried and also the pani puri is good value for money! Theres so much more to try from here, looking forward!

This place offers great breakfast items (mostly south indian) and chats. We've been regular visitors for the last 4 years! A small cafeteria, but great food!

Well had been to that area and wanted a quick bite .. ordered masala dosa ... the potato was fantastic but the dosa was too oily and was not crisp.. the gulab jamun was not fresh .... !!!

This is located just beside the NMC hospital. Compared to the cafeterias out there this is way more cleaner and better as I saw. We ordered pani pori for take away. The man preparing it was super funny and friendly. Also the pani pori tasted good compared to what I tried in some other places. Plus the prices are really good.

Good choice if you are on the lookout for an indian casual dining experience. Affordable prices and good service. I usually go there Dosas and Bhel Puris. I would recommend steering clear from their shawarmas.

Ordered chole bature and appam with mix curry. Both are not a very tasty. It’s not a best place to have appam. Staff response is very quick and helpfully.

The portions were very generous but the food quality was mediocre. The mussels we ordered were extremely tough and dry. The grilled foods we ordered had a strong charcoal flavour, which I am not a fan of. We did like the garlic naan and the tomato soup though. The mango lassi was fine, but the mint lemonade was too sweet for my liking and lacked mint flavour.

Such a worst experience with this food land cafeteria we have order Mysore masala dosa n idly vada. First he didn’t come on time he was 1hour late n then the food too worst the Sambhar n chutney were too bad. Very bad experience

Their ghee masala dosa & paper masala dosa is good. I relished the carrot halwa too. Once in a while I’ve the non veg thali for lunch from there. Shawarma & chaats are only available in the evening. For quick unplanned dining, this’s the correct place to be in, if one loves Indian food

Was a little skeptical to go here when my husband recommended, but realised the cafeteria in the name is only to differentiate from the main Foodlands!! And also the ambiance was good from what I expected.<br/>We asked for PANI PURI and SEV PURI, both were served on the table. They have the pani puri counters as well, if one wishes to have from there.<br/>The SEV PURI was perfect, nice and crisp with the right balance of sweet and sour. The PANI PURI came with the puri's filled with aloo accompanied by meetha chutney, green chutney and the pani and it had to be made but with all permutations and combinations it still tasted sour and lacked that kick!! <br/>But overall a good place for a small before meal snack!!

It's a walk away from the nmc hospital. A convenient eating joint for visitors at the hospital and the staff. <br/>We had a quick South Indian breakfast. It meets the needs of filling the belly at reasonable price.<br/>

Good food but Samber taste needs to be improved

I haven't put a review since a while now. This time I really had to put it on the record. This place used to serve the best food years back. But lately they just serve really bad food. Whether it maybe Dosa, idly vada or dinner everything lost its quality. I really must say people need to stay away from here till they take this seriously and bring back the quality

Good place for south indian thali during lunch hours and their pani puri is superb. Staff is friendly and make you feel at home. The shawarma is another surprise element of the place.

I am not rating it four because of their interiors and ambience ! Of course it is average looking restaurant with nominal rates. <br/>But 4 stars to their staff ! <br/>You won't find such children friendly, courteous staff even in top end five stars ! <br/>My five years old daughter loves to meet waiters at this place. <br/>Food is good too. This is our favourite joint place for lunch in working hours. I come here often with work colleagues. Clean ambience, courteous staff who know our taste and favourites from the menu. Simple south Indian food served quick and clean. Not one of those typical work place joints which bang out food. This place is spacious and welcoming. All the Dosa's are fantastic and they also do Oil free dosa ,although its not on the menu.

Have visited once here. The South Indian dishes took me back to chennai. Good dosas n idlis. Can revisit if have craving for South Indian food.

Stopped at foodlands for a quick shawarma and wasn't really expecting much because of the way the restaurant looked. However, I must say it's one of the best shawarma"s I have ever had. To be honest, this restaurants food makes you feel like you are in the Middle East which I love!!! If you haven't been to foodlands for a shawarma you need to go try it out. I also had a chicken bryani from here and it was also really good.

Very poor servicing. After sitting no one came for providing menu neither take an order. Very poor communication within staff. Food was okay. Didn't enjoy much. Had ordered appam and chicken curry. Chicken curry felt more watery, and appam was quite hard.

This cafeteria is situated right besides NMC hospital.Our Malaysian friend wanted to try something Indian and finally we ended up here.The Poori bhaji was delicious with the poori being oil-free & the potatoes just melting in your mouth.<br/>I tried the Chapathi & fish masala with the fish masala being a disaster.The curry was watery and the fish had an off taste to it.The Butter chicken too was meh!<br/>We also tried the pani puri which tasted good but the puris were really tiny.<br/>Our meal ended with a neat coffee! Service was pretty good even with all the rush.Maybe next time i would stick to their masala dosas or puris.

To savor the taste of fresh South Indian staple dishes with economical pricing- Foodlands cafeteria is a go to place. Located conveniently right next to NMC building, it sells Dosas like hot cakes. They know their south Indian dishes well and it will always be served fresh. Snack items like pani puri and chat are equally good. Must try Mysore Masala Dosa. They are filling on your stomach and light on the pocket. Seating is ample however during rush hours you might still have to wait for a while before you can be seated.

Just like it's name, this place is all about the food!!! I would have never noticed it but my husband was craving a shawarma coming out from the doctor at NMC and wanted a quick takeaway. It's all about the taste sensation. Great, flavoursome, soul food with an authentic taste. Had a chicken shawarma and it was absolutely delicious and saucy, just mouth watering. The prices are also excellent. We will definitely be back to try some more from the menu! But I wouldn't sit in, the environment isn't good... so order in or stop by for a takeaway, they were extremely quick at making it!

I'm big fan of Indian food , honestly it's been long time since dining in but always order delivery, well prepared food, they respect preparing mild food, buttered nan is awesome, all biryanis and masalas are yummy, but time for delivery requires attention 👍👍

Very poor communication while ordering on phone .. the person to spoke on the phone instead of taking the order asked me to call a number 1847 which is not even a phone no when asked what is that he said it's a different cafeteria and when asked why am I being given this number he said they don't deliver anything less than aed 20 where as I live opposite to the cafeteria. Need to improve on the communication with customers which is the most important thing in the service industry.

Good place for a quick bite, snacks and chaat is way better than indian by nature or chhapan bhog. Clean and well maintained always. Come here for excellent chaat options served in a clean manner. Regular at this joint. Staff is quick and functional.

Frequent customers here but always forget to write a review. Love and have tried all most all items on their menu. Apart from the quick and fresh food the staffs are very friendly and above all the place is always neat and clean.Would recommend this place to all who would like to have a crispy dosa or soft idli. Today had their yummy samosa filled with peas and potato masala.Also had Dahi Vada it's the meetha (sweet) one which definitely is a treat during the heat here.

Every weekend we head to foodlands cafeteria for our breakfast. They have maintained standard quality and food is delicious. Our favourite dishes are idli vada sambar and appam sabji. Also, love their evening snacks  like goli bajje and dahi batata puri. If you are fond of chaats then do try their dahi batata puri. Its too good. <br/>They do have lunch dinner set menu which is also nice. All their dishes are equally good.

Had some food from food lands. Some of them are good and some not upto the mark. I liked the shawarma and chicken dry kabab, which is quite good and is value for money. Unfortunately the meals served their is not good and won't prefer to order on next time. Overall cleanliness, ambience is good. Good for casual dining and avoid meals,that's what the best I can say..

Since this place is quite close to where I live, its one of my favourite spots for light snacks and south indian breakfasts. All the food tastes really good 👌. Their shawarma is amazing as well.<br/>Recently , I tried their bhel puri and sev puri home delivery. The delivery charge of 5 dhs is too much I must admit, especially since my place is just a building away. If I had known this, I would have just gone down and bought it myself.<br/>The cafeteria does seem a bit too pricy at times. For example, 1 piece of falafel costs 1 dh, but in all other restaurants u get atleast 3 pieces for 1 dh!<br/>I would definitely continue eating from here, but never shall I buy falafel or get a home delivery done.

Simple , minimalistic but very well maintained decor with welcoming & attentive staff. Paani Poori overall was tasty but poori or golgappa was little hard. Now this is what you call Branding. Attracting regular casual dining customers with the name foodlands cafeteria an outlet of the major fine dining restauranteur Foodlands. <br/>Once upon a time this used to be a simple cafeteria and people used to que up for tea snacks and shawarma and had the ambience, feel and price of a regular cafeteria. <br/>Now they make you feel that only the ambience changed to a small Restaurent set up but it's still is the cafeteria, it used to be once and hence foodlands cafeteria. Now the NMC group need not be taught branding or marketing right. ;) a cafeteria with slightly less than the price of a casual dining type Restaurent outlet in a perfect business advantage spot.<br/>Anyhow as we say price doesn't matter for good servings and here it's not too different. <br/>Shawarma @ 6 Dhs and with foodlands quality is too good for its Mexican and regular options.<br/>Tea, filter coffee is in good proportions (being from the Indian state where tea is supposed to be served in mugs rather cups, I am a fan of big sized tea) and unlike the cafeteria's who make it with evaporated milk, foodlands serves with fresh milk.<br/>If you want to review the complete snack range of foodlands or if you are starving for a big snack which does not feel so heavy as probably a Biriyani, 'mini tiffin' is your order. <br/>A mini Masala Dosa, Uppma, Idli, Vada and kesar, all in one plate served with two chutneys and Sambhar is a real treat. Everything was just perfect. <br/>Masala dosa was crisp with slight amount of ghee and stuffed with perfectly cooked potato and masala. <br/>Uppma was very soft and rich with nuts and tasted really good with chutney.<br/>Vada crisp and by all means exactly how it was supposed to be. Sambhar and chutney was also real good and not some masala stirred water as how they serve in other veg hotels.<br/>Kesar sweet and simple made a great dessert. I love having my breakfasts here..Perfect ghee roast..crispy and big! The price is quite unreasonable.. But the dosa will make you forget about the prices! I honestly don't know what's in the menu because I always have ghee roast and tea.. Should really visit this place if u are a dosa person!

Went for aftar buffet, limited dishes were there 10 to 20 including sweets. Most of the things were arabic and tast was fine.<br/>I found less Indian touch in the food.

well this joint is a pretty standard indian place with all the usual dosa idly etc. <br/>However the menu is not too extensive as it is only a cafateria. <br/>They do have shawarma and falafel though which is different. <br/><br/>I got a cheese dosa (this is not on the menu but they will do it for you if you ask) it was good but very oily.<br/>The idly vada plate was also quite standard.<br/>Their chutneys were a bit stale and the sambar is a little sweet ( I like that but some people; specially south indiands dont seem to like that) <br/><br/>For the drink I got the sweet lime soda which was nice.<br/><br/>Service was pretty slow. They took a while to attend to us. Also the waiter plucked the menu out of my hand even before I was done ordering.<br/><br/>I guess its a decent place to grab a snack if you are in the area and the prices are reasonable too.

First of all the tag 'Cafeteria' is really wrong for this place, despite being kinda small in terms of space the interior and ambience is better than most restaurants. The food looks good & tastes even better. We have been there a couple of times mainly for some quick snacks but never been disappointed. I have seen a lot of restaurants with the atmosphere similar to that of a cafeteria but this one beats them all when it comes to Ambiance. Spacious and a friendly staff adds up good points for them. Coming to the food served here, Its Brilliant! <br/>They mostly sell south indian delicacies like Masala Dosa, Vada, Idli and all but they also serve some really good and homelike Thali. For those who are wondering if this is a complete Veg Restaurant, Well its not. They serve Non veg too. <br/>Evenings are the times you should try them out i would say because these people serve ONE OF THE VERY BEST SPICY SHAWARMA'S I have had in Abu Dhabi. That's a real buy if you ever happen to visit them.<br/>Also go try their "Golibaji" which is a very famous Mangalorean snack (SImilar to Vada) which i doubt is available anywhere else, or if it is, i am unaware of it. <br/>However, despite having tried nearly everything on their Menu, I always go for their Chicken Sandwich or Dahi Vada which is made exactly how i want it. SImple and Delicious. <br/>Good news: They do have a special small room for families where you can sit and enjoy your snack without being bothered by anyone. Which cafeteria has that in them now!? <br/><br/>Hope you all enjoy the Food and give me thumbs up for it ;)

Their vegetarian meals for lunch = winner. So filling and tastes almost homemade.

This has been recently opened as a branch of Foodlands Restaurant in Madinat Zayed area in NMC Speaciality hospital building. The quality is superb with a good reduction in prices for the same snacks which were served in Foodlands Restaurant under the same management.<br/><br/>This is really worth the money you pay. The value can of the snacks like idli, dosa, uthappam etc will get more appreciated if they could give "Mulgapodi" which is given in Saravana Bhavan. "Mulgapodi" is basically a coarse powder of Clilly, Lentils etc and has a great taste with Idli, Dosa, Uthappam etc.
