Happy with services and quality of the food. Nice location too. Tasty food, friendly stuff... Though place looks a bit old and would need some renovation work in my opinion. Nevertheless it doesn't affect the quality of the service and meals

My favorite on the table was the Salmon roll, it was crunchy, spicy and zesty packed with Umami flavors which I throughly enjoyed.👏🏻 ✅ Yes, I ordered Veg. sushi just to give it a GO and it was simply "Delish" the roll was oozing with Philadelphia cheese and fresh greens that were just yummy to eat. #recommended for vegetarians and curious tastebuds.😉
The Chicken Yaki Soba Noodles were stir fried and crunchy with a saucy texture. The noodles I choose were thin, it was a nice complement to the sushi.

I ordered chicken noodles and the waiter came upto to the table with shrimp noodles. She asked if that would be alright as it was prepared, obviously it was not. (As it was not my order) This is not very good customer service in my opinion, it was miscommunication and a language barrier that was the problem. Staff needs to be trained to speak in English or understand English.
This cozy restaurant has the taste of authentic japanese food . To begin with I commend the staff for a great service. We ordered(bento) bulgogi(grilled beef) beef is juicy and tender and karaage (japanese style deep fried chicken) very tasty plus the serving size is good . Ordered also seafood yaki udon(stir fried noodle) also taste good , rainbow roll sushi is very good and fresh. Defintely will comeback and highly recommended.cheers
Sushi Maru is THE Place to be if you have an intense craving for some amazing Mussels. We usually go to thus joint to enjoy their mussels in green sauce. Their sushi rolls are finger licking good too. We ordered the crunchy tuna roll, philadelphia roll, the dragon roll and the crunchy Dragon roll as well. Yummy is all I can say. In addition to this we also ordered the green mussel soup (was not a big fan of this) and the kimchi jjigae (good for seafood ramen lovers)! All in all a pleasant experience but a bit on the expensive side.

Lunch box here is good. Sushi restaurant, but Korean food is very good. Bulgogi bento is number one!! galbi bento is good as well. Bento include tempra and sashimi, so I can enjoy many taste!

This place is located at a an entirely different place...you have to enter the japanese restaurent through an english style bar...loved their dragon roll...
It was strange to walk all the way through a pub to reach this little Sushi gem which is situated one floor up the stairs. We enjoyed our meal which was flavourful and decent in price. My favorite roll was the volcano maki.
I love here. Better than any other restaurants in Abu Dhabi. Friendly staff and good service. The food portions are more than enough. Sushi and Sashimi are so fresh and just melting in my mouth =)

It is one of the best Japanese-Asian restaurants in Abu Dhabi. My husband and I visit this place from time to time and I sometimes go with my colleagues from work. There are a variety of choices which all taste good. I especially recommend that you try the Crunch Dragon Roll, Korean style sweet fried chicken and the amazing sushi boat. For dessert, you should try the ‘Pat Bing Su’. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant is always clean. If you want a private room, be sure to book in advance.
Delicious. However, the floor was pretty slippery I almost fell on my face😅. I tried two kind of sushi one was dragon something it was tuna and the other one was shrimp. Also ordered crab salad very tasty and a dish of fried calamari tasty too☺️
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the sweet spicy chicken and Nagasaki Udon. Also,Parking place is spacious and very clean atmosphere.
When I feel like Korean and Japanese food, Sushi Maru is my first choice. Staff are very attentive and service is relatively quick. Try their 'Crazy boy' sushi roll and 'Nagasaki noodle soup'. Great for families or business lunches as they have spacious private rooms.
After reading all the positive reviews I decided I must try this place. I didn't dine in, ordered & had it for takeaway. I was quite impressed with the quality of the ingredients. I had the spicy tuna & it was really good. Also the calamari hit the right notes. I thought it was good value for the money, each sushi platter comes with 8 pieces.
By far this is one of my favorite places to enjoy sushi in Abu Dhabi. The sushi chef @saannewa (instagram), creates not only the best sushi I've had in the UAE, but such a lovely artistic display of art. He is a very passionate chef from Nepal who has a great background in the sushi culinary world. With one bite, you can taste the passion and focus that drives him. The owner is always on site and the staff or extremely friendly. They specialize in Korean BBQ, Sushi and Japanese cuisine. It's a must try!

I was having date there with my boyfriend, we ordered seafood dynamite for starter, california rolls and mix rolls (forgive me if i am wrong) it was fantastic! we love the seafood dynamite sooo much! The staffs are quite friendly and definitely i willl come back here and recommend the restaurant to our friends, please maintain the original Japanese style since its so difficult to find good sushi restaurant here in Abu dhabi
Some pics are deceiving, there isn't outside seating. Great service, great location, I wish they had more varieties in terms of mixed rolls and sashimi. But overall the experience was great. Tried the mussels and volcano sushi and something else I forgot but all was yummy and great! Would definitely go back! :)
Thanks to Naruto my hubby's craving fro some real nice ramen. We decided to eat here for our monthsary and boy 2 good revoew doesn't hurt :) Sushi Maru's ambiance is like an old japanese set up feel but with chairs. They have also place with close door if you want more privacy but the place itself is comfy and quiet. To start off we had Nagasaki Ramen a seafood hot pot dish served with ramen noodle, their famous Yakiniku Bento - sweet thin sliced beef cuts and tempura w/ oriental salad side dish and egg, Mixed Tempura and Volcano Maki. They serve some korean dishes too and kimchi!!! We love volcano maki so much it's the first time we tried a fried maki roll and their servings are big too! Every dish is like good for 2 pax. Ramen is also good. Their tempura is delish too. We love it! For sure we'll come back to this place again. The price is not something you'll go regularly but since we love everything we ordered, it's worth every penny :) Sugoi!

There is a handful of Japanese restaurants in town but few as "down to earth" as this. Their selection is wide and has even a small Korean influence. The overall feel you get dining here is good food without the pretentious and frills.
I had lunch today at Sushi Maru and am really impress with the taste and flavors of the dishes and the warm friendly service.
The California rolls is delightful. The rice done just right, the filling fresh and nicely seasoned ... We had the Crunch Dragon Roll - filling of shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and crab meat! Imagine the flavors in this one if you are a seafood lover!! The Eel (unagi) and avocado roll simply bursts of the rich sweet taste of the unagi fish. The avocado then balances out the sweetness and adds another element of taste to it.
We ordered 2 types of noodles. One cold (perfect for summer) and one hot. Both has its own distinctive taste. If you like seafood, you will enjoy the Maru Nagasaki Udon. The udon (or ramen if you prefer) is soaked in a rich and buttery broth with bits of cuttlefish, flower crabs and greens ..... Hmm a very comforting dish.
Our other dish is Mulhoe Somen - ramen in cold spicy broth with raw sashimi and fresh greens ... Super refreshing and rich is flavours. If you like your noodles spicy, don't miss this !!!

Second experience
Extraordinarily welcoming. Although they were full they still set up an extra table for us so we don't have to go and find another restaurant. Apologised several times for late food but they were not late at all and it was our fault who visited late. They had to serve an extra table because of us. Food has improved a lot. No complaints at all. Authentic Japanese food. Staff are all very well trained with typical very polite Japanese polite attitude. Certainly will be back again.
First of all staff is very polite and customers service is excellent. Eel nigiri is very nice. Japanese beer is nice too. Gyoza and mussels are very good. We tried bento this time. Maru sushi and sashimi bento is good. I thought it was just a sushi platter and salad but there is another chicken rice bento to go with it. Salmon sushi and salmon sashimi are good but tuna and yellow tail taste very fishy. Dessert was ok but could be better. Tempura isn't quite Japanese. Price is reasonable. I'd rate this restaurant over Samurai whose service is based on skin colour.
Finding the location was a bit of a challenge, but it was worth the trip from Al Dhafra. The interior of the restaurant felt very homey. Mutya, our waitress, was enthusiastic and she sure knew her menu. Everything she recommended was yummy! Prices were a bit high, but I guarantee you will get your money's worth. Definitely try the Sushi Sampler and the Volcano Maki - delicious!

This restaurant has the freshest sashimi I've tasted since arriving to Abu Dhabi. We had the sashimi dinner which consisted of 12 pieces and each were large in size and thick. Very fresh tasting.
The restaurant has about three private dining rooms which can be used free of charge, if available. We had it with the kids and didn't have to worry about bothering other patrons.
They had a variety of rolls and nigiri. We had three rolls as seen in the photo and were decent in size as well. They were delicious! The menu has other Japanese dishes such as Udon and Ramen and Bento boxes.
The prices were more than reasonable especially for the size of their sushi. We love sushi and always expect to spend more than normal. We felt we got our money's worth and more. We will definitely be returning for another meal.
The staff was friendly and attentive. This restaurant is located in the city golf club on the second floor of the main building. This restaurant is one of the two favorite sushi places for my family and I.

Personal favorite. Always choose Sushi Maru over any other place in Abu Dhabi. Reasonable price, great staff. 🍸 drinks available as well. After a good game of golf.

Personally I don't like Korean food but my friend (who are fans of it ) believe this restaurant is amazing I tried salmon and I love it the staff are seriously cute and nice...recommended if you like Asian food
