Our large group chose a variety of starters and main courses; overall food was poor and some or our party were served mains at the same time as others received starters. Waitresses in T shirts that looked like they’ve never seen an iron and service either so slow we could’ve got up and cooked it ourselves or so frantic we had the feeling we were being pushed out the door. Did the fact that we didn’t order alcohol have anything to do with it? Yes, I’m sure it did. This restaurant seems to cater for diners who enjoy their ‘tipple’ and aren’t too bothered about the quality of food or service.

Dull atmosphere for a Saturday night. Food was subpar and not a lot of variety. Also, some menu item prices are simply not justifiable. Service was great though and staff is welcoming.

On the more expensive side but the decor ambiance and service is amazing ! We ordered all kinds of sushis, dumplings, fish and of course Japanese ice cream to top it off!

Went to Tori No Su after a very long time and left wondering why we haven’t been there more often. After one of our favorites in the area - Brasserie Angelique - shut down I thought all Jumeriah Etihad restaurants were destined to die given the location and over-competition. So we were pleasantly surprised to see Tori No Su fully packed last night. <br/><br/>Highlight for sure was the chutoro and uni! Have always seen them on the menus at places like zuma and 99sushi but they are always out of it. Uni was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! So were the BBQ Eel and spicy yellowtail rolls. The chicken salad was very refreshing and the spicy prawn yakisoba completed the urge for noodles. Chilled Japanese draft was a nice complement to the overall experience. <br/><br/>Service has minor rough edges but overall pretty good. 25% off for Etihad Towers residents with the dining card. Will be back very soon!

My friend and I went for a dip at the Jumeirah Etihad tower yesterday evening and after we left, we decided to try out this restaurant that we saw right opposite the entrance of this hotel. When we entered we definitely felt undressed! The place looked fab and the service was just great! We used an entertainer voucher and ordered a Chicken Katsu and a Spicy Prawn Yokusoba! We loved them both and were so impressed by how quickly we were served. They ever served us appetizers which were really good too. Not quite sure what the name of the dish was but she did say it was beef. Overall loved it and would definitely recommend this place. Plus it has a great 'date vibe' to it.

I really enjoyed the food specially the chicken sushi and the noodles all the dishes actually were really good, I liked their ambiance the place is very chilled and quiet. However I had 3 (2 for 1) entertainer vouchers which I wanted to use on that day and that’s why I ordered 6 dishes, I have already spoke to one of the staff on the phone and said it is totally okay if we use all 3 vouchers. But when we got the bill the staff said no you can only redeem one voucher at a time, so they took off the cheapest item from the bill and that’s all. I mean you’ve said that on the initially, why the last minute surprises.

Excellent ambiance and lovely service from the staff.<br/>The food was served promptly and the menu had great variety. The sushi was very fresh and since I have vegetarian sushi only, the staff was accommodating enough to modify the ingredients to make the dish suitable for vegetarians.

Good quality sushi restaurant, similar to ET sushi in Dubai, had the mix platter and AUSTRALIAN wagyu sirloin with plum sauce. The plum sauce is extremely tasty but I recommend to have it on the side as it can overpower the smooth flavor of the beef.

We celebrated our anniversary here last 11 July, the ambiance is very good, parking is not that good though. Food wise is excellent. We had the tepanyaki lobster set menu. It comes with soup, salad, this trio appetizer, then the lobster and veggies and fried rice plus dessert. It the best tepanyaki we had. Highly recommended.

We went there last night and had the meal of our lives. The food is fresh, tasty and excellently prepared. We had the tapenyaki at it was awesome. This is probably the best Japanese place in Abu Dhabi.

Amazing, tasty and fresh! We went for lunch and we were 3 pax ans shared the below menu; kani salad, bery fresh and crab meat is of quality. Chicken katsu surprisingly good! I thought chicken was a bit thin sliced and a tiny bit dry but with the sauce and rice it was fine. The best for me was Sushi: best one was spicy tuna second best calofornia roll and last for me was dynamite roll which I didn’t like that much. It is expensive but the place is worth a try and the fish is very fresh and tasty!

Wow!! Thats what I can say .. Perfect place to dine and enjoy the time .. Quality of food was really awesome and interior of the restaurant..We ordered sushi and shashmi it was mouth watering.. we was looking for the perfect japanese cuisine for the long time and finally we got it .. Staffs was really good , special mention for Vikas . The only thing which we thought that this outlet needs more promotion and marketing so that people will know about it.. Anyways I will be definitely coming back super good.

We tried the bento box promotion. Most of the items were very disappointing. The sashimi was nice. We ordered some starters and that saved the day. The gyozo was decent and the wagyu roll stuffed foie gras was spectacular. But that’s always to be expected when you combine two of my favourite items. Wagyu beef and foie gras.

Extremely small portions at a really high price. The flavor did not make up for this, the food was unbelievably bland. The ambience was nice though.

This place did not meet my expectations . The sushi did not have much flavor . The dessert was very bad . I recommend a change in chefs . The atmosphere was very dead even though i was here on a Thursday night .

We had high expectations of this place after reading that it won an award for ‘Best Japanese Restaurant in Abu Dhabi 2017’ but alas the reality did not live up.<br/>Ambience was a solid 7/10; I was impressed with the avant-garde decor and style of the restaurant. The layout was well-thought and there was a generous amount of space between tables. Sadly the music was a little too weird for my taste though!<br/>Service was so-so. We received a warm welcome and the staff were always polite and courteous (except perhaps one of the servers that brought our drinks was a little blasé), but overall I couldn’t help but feel that staff were all a little dopey and not as razor sharp as we expected. For example, we were asked whether we wanted to reorder another bottle of still water. “Yes please” was our response, but the water never came.<br/>Food was a real disappointment. We clearly told our server that we were keen to have sushi and sashimi, and at her recommendation, we opted to try a special Tasting Menu at DHS300 per person, described as a smaller version of the Omakase “with less Premium dishes”. We were a bit surprised because as much as nothing tasted unbearable, there was only one sushi dish (which tasted like it came right out of a takeaway bento box), however the only dish that I felt was truly outstanding was a Black Cod, served with Mayonnaise and a mini accompaniment of Edamame. The cod was cooked to perfection and had an extraordinary flavour, but I’m not sure the Mayonnaise nor the Edamame (the latter served in what looked like an IKEA egg cup) was the most appropriate choice of snack to go with it. At the end of the savoury portion of the menu, the server asked if we were still hungry. Having had the pleasure of enjoying the gluttenously delicious and seemingly never ending tasting menu at Zuma, I replied honestly and said that I was definitely still hungry given that the last time I ate was over 12 hours before. Not knowing exactly how to react, the server told us that it was time for dessert but to our surprise the chef offered an additional and complementary seafood noodle dish. Very kind and filling but nevertheless very bland and not a very exciting dish at all. Next came dessert which seemed like a mishmash of cut fruit and mochi-wrapped Vanilla Ice Cream.<br/>Overall a rather average and non-eventful experience which we will probably not wish to repeat!

For the venue and service it has earned 2.0<br/><br/>For the food and price it recommends, I'd say both needs some working to improve the quality of ingredients and preparation. <br/><br/>My friend and I decided to try this place for Eid dinner and we were both looking forward to it. I brought with me an empty stomach nd with my Japan valued memories of its cuisine.<br/><br/>We had the kanina salad and gyoza for appetizers and it's was fantastic. <br/><br/>For main course we had chicken katsudon which wasn't that great. I was rather confuse with the menu having a curry sauce on the side but intrigued none the less so we went aged to having one. It's a disappointment to be eating them tasting no authentic Japanese element on it.<br/><br/>As for my sushi platter, it wasn't great either. But the good thing was, the chef and restaurant manager came over to recognise our concerns with deep sense of politeness for which Japanese are known for.<br/><br/>That to me settled the issue on the spot.<br/><br/>Will definitely consider trying their sushi event again soon.<br/><br/>

Tori no su, Ive heard many mixed opinion about it... and today I have finally got the privilege to visit it and judge for myself. We arrive at 8:30 for our dinner reservation and we're seated at a non-smoking table. At first I wasn't pleased with the service as the order taker suddenly went chatting with another waiter then came back to me in the middle of my order. I had second thoughts until the dishes started coming! We had the lobster and corn croquette these were melting in my mouth as I bit into them! Then we had A medium well kobe tiryaki Serlion and it stole the show! I've never had a beef like this! It is a must try! I've even ordered another two Kobe beef dishes after we finished our Sashimi platter and other maki rolls!! Oh btw, it is quite pricy here, so only come with a full wallet and empty stomach! <br/>Tori no su, you made my night! Looking forward to try your new menu 💕<br/>Thanks!

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Abu Dhabi.<br/><br/>Food is always very good, sushi and sashimi are not only fresh, but also the quality of the fish is excellent, and this is something you can feel in the flavors. Although it is not a cheap restaurant, i believe it offers good value for money considering the high quality of their products.<br/><br/>Service is very attentive, polite and always timely. <br/><br/>The only downside is the ambiance, whenever i have visited the place is less than half food and there is not much atmosphere on the place.

I love their various menu offerings but not so fund about their sushi and sashimis. It is quite good but not the best they have to offer. The decoration is exceptionally beautiful and the service is excellent

I have been eating at Tori No-Su consistently for lunch for almost three months as it is near my place of workplace. I have tried a variety of items on the menu including their business lunch menu (which is quite a good offer if you dine their regularly). They make very great sushi, however I wish there was more selection or that they would change up their menu. Recently, they added ramen to their menu as a promotion, which is spectacular. I wish they had more options for Ramen on their menu.<br/><br/>All in all the experience has been great. Service is good and the atmosphere is quite nice. On certain occasions the kitchen can be slow to deliver meals, however this is only when the restaurant is busy. All in all I would recommend and I personally will be going again.

This isn't my first choice for my sushi craving last week when I was in Abu Dhabi. However, a friend insisted to check this out and I did not regret it.<br/><br/>The place is well lit, wine bottle displays are impressive, the contemporary chic interior is stunning, the ambience is sophisticated and sleek. I preferred to sit at the sushi counter so I can see my sushis prepared and chat with the chefs😉 <br/><br/>Amongst the items we sampled are: Tuna Toro & Soft Crab Shell sushi rolls and Ebi Hotate Gyosa as appetizers and they are all amazing. We then ordered the Seafood Lunch Bento which includes spicy seafood don buri, miso soup, crab salad with apple ginger dressing and vegetable pickles. All food items are so delightful that I won't even have to describe each of them. I am one truly satisfied customer.<br/><br/>It was worth the money and the trip. Averagely priced compared to other hotel japanese restaurants around town. The bento box is a very good deal to fill you up.

Excellent sushi! And highly recommended for it. <br/>The teriyaki was sort of over priced. It was tasty and juicy though. However, it's not a crowded place, recommended for dinner.<br/><br/>

This place was great when it first opened. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone down significantly. The sushi and sashimi doesnt taste so fresh. The wine is impressive though. For a main, the salmon steak is awesome. The manager took it upon himself to give us two 50% vouchers.

Update for two stars: Restaurant have removed the bimbibap from the menu. When asked the Chef don't want to make it anymore. If the chef add the dish again I definitely return back.<br/><br/>Very good seafood bimbibap adaptation/creation with raw fish!! Highly recommended! Definitely the best plate here is the bimbibap. Very friendly staff.<br/><br/>

Probably the best sushi place in AD. The sushi is the right size and the Flavours are spot on! The only thing I wish they do delivery. You can't go wrong here with any kind of sushi from the basic California to spicy tuna, spicy salmon. Also it is consistent with its taste as I've never been disappointed. A true Japanese gem

A very cozy environment. I loved the show the chefs are making while preparing the food in front of you - however for that you have to book in advance and there are only two places available for the food&knives show. The food was really great! A bit too overpriced though! I ordered Japanese meat - it was really goooood!!

Wow.  I was really not expecting to give this place such a low score.  The best part was my glass of prosecco and the caramelized peanuts at the bar.  Then it all sent down hill.  <br/>    The service was absolutely horrendous (all while the restaurant was very empty).  Dirty plates and empty wine glasses sat on our table for about 20 minutes after we had finished...until I asked them to take them away.  The food was only mediocre.  My deep fried tofu was soft and wet.  "Deep fried" means hot and crispy...otherwise I don't see the point.  The black cod was the best of our dishes, but I would not return for it when there are other places in the city (Hakkasan) that make it consistently better for a similar price.<br/>    The dessert was REALLY not worth the calories. The banana cheesecake was overly sweet and the broiled banana was mealy and obviously overly ripe.  The black sesame ice cream was good, but again not worth returning for.  Maybe they will get their act together !?? #tasteofabudhabi

This is an embarrassing representation of what Japanese cuisine should be. The sashimi looked like it was cut by a five year old with underdeveloped fine motor skills, and I had to separate small pieces of bones and scales from the salmon. <br/><br/>As for the yaki soba, it was extremely sour as the chef must have decided to empty his month's supply of beni shoga (red ginger) into one dish. <br/><br/>Lovely venue and attentive service earned it a two star rating, but altogether a forgettable experience given the prices it commands.

Ambiance: great chic and contemporary setup. <br/>Service: rather slow response, had to call to take order (waiting for 15min) also confusion over the respective individual drinks orders. Otherwise was ok.<br/>Food: great sushi and sashimi. But I enjoyed Kazu @ Yas Viceroy better especially with complementing sakes... Again personal taste and preference.... <br/>Will return: sure especially will try set lunch menu.<br/>

I generally love asian, and though this isnt a place I head to often, I like it and enjoy it when I do go! Their apetizers are good, maki rolls are okaaay not excellent though and I like the taste of their black cod melting in mouth ... I also found that the place is a bit quieter than it used to be when it first opened!

No genuine japanese dishes served here. This is to japanese food what p.f. chang is to chinese food, except pf change presents itself as a chain restaurant whereas tori no su presents itself as genuine japanese.<br/>Had beef tataki, black cod miso and beef pepper donburi. Would recommend none.

This is a very nice place, food is good, service is present, but you do want to go on the week-end and quite late as otherwise it feels a little bit cold and empty... And make sure you bring your credit card!!! Lol...

The ambience is quiet nice. Very tranquil and calm with great yellow shades and lights everywhere. The food was fabulous. We went for a variety of sushis and salmon nigiri then concluded our dinner with my all time favorite chocolate fondant.

The most overrated restaurant on Zomato! I came twice and got the exact same lame taste, day dreaming waiters and waitresses, over priced menu... You name it.<br/>Whoever thinks they have good sushi have NOT tried proper sushis in his/her life!
