(التعليق الأصلي) What a find this was! Toki is an authentic Japanese restaurant with a calm atmosphere and bountiful food choices. We tried five dishes and all were very good! Would especially recommend their otoshi, popcorn shrimp and spider roll. The service was great and all the waiters were willing to help with the choices. This is the place to enjoy your company and get some relief from the city's noizy and posh places (but without compromising food quality!).

(التعليق الأصلي) We wanted some authentic Japanese food and we found Toki. It’s situated at Radisson Blu hotel at Corniche Rd, suggest to park with valet if you are driving. It has a very good spread of Japanese food - sushi, sashimi, bento set, ramen, udon etc. Our favourite is the udon soup, it was really superb and authentic, price reasonable as well. Service was very good and they gave some complimentary ice cream/ocha. Highly recommended and will be back!

Went to the Mina St. restaurant today with my partner. Honestly the best sushi I've ever had, and the best he's had in years (he's a sushi snob), The dishes tasted great, and are bigger than expected with a more than reasonable price tag. We (he) ended up ordering way too much, which somehow our lovely server managed to remember all of, and brought a pile home. We tried a bit of everything from the rolls, soups and noodles and it was all delicious. Considering you're only down the road we'll definitely be back for more. Thanks for a lovely evening guys!

Best japanese restaurant ever. Great service, tasty food, moderate prices and nice location. But imo not that easy to find, if walking by. Food tastes really awesome. For example: shitake & onion teppan, of course sushi, seaweed soup and ice tea - red is what I ordered. A must visit place in Abu Dhabi. �

It's a good place to eat japanese food, perfect ambience. We ordered Ramen and Chicken Katsu Curry which tasted really awesome! We would go back for sure and invite the entire family.

Great customer service and good ambience especially the family rooms that is typical of Japanese seating. However, some of the food are salty.

Ordered today at this place . We will no order again .<br/>First of all food came late , than cold , and yes I live 150 mt from the place 🤦🏻‍♀️<br/>Tempura was cold , disgusting . The sushi salmon 🍣 , I am sorry but looking at the quality of the fish , it does not look fresh . Observing the edges of the salmon filet over the rice , the white small stripes and the consistency. You can say whatever you want , the salmon was low quality . We did not finish the food because I got scared of the freshness . I finished the chicken and was the only thing I liked . Terrible .

The only reasons to go to this place is Private Barbecue rooms. The ambience of the place is uplifting, the marinated chicken (with Japanese sauces) and Vegetables are perfect for Barbecue (Yakiniku). The Cosy ambience of the rooms doesn't allow any distraction from the outer dining area. The Japanese food doesn't suit many Palates, but the maximum of the Western World population is utterly in love with Sushi. Samurai Japanese Restaurant's Sushi is fresh and goes well with Ginger and Wasabi. The smell of the oil in Tempura is a spoiler, its dominant and may disrupt your dining experience. The Combination of the Rice, Kimchi, and Tempura as Bento Box may save the day, but that depends on your taste buds; being Indian, I love savoury than bland. Due to Pandemic and Government regulations, they use Plastic plates (which is not acceptable), and when hot food is served in that, it is hazardous to health. Instead, they replace the plates with non-plastic material or paper plates depending on the type of food. The Rice Cake is unique desserts and may help you to clear the table of satisfying note.

I really like the Unagi Bento and some of the udon. The staffs there were very kind and overall I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The Japanese food were mouth watering 👏🤤 Would love to come here again!

Had an enjoyable meal with my family ! Got the private room - a mini experience of Japanese dining culture though I couldn't fathom why they'd have English music playing in the background! Food was good and staff politely attentive ! First visit and sure am coming back for more!

I ordered one of their ramen and noticed that the boiled egg in my ramen was only half. I asked the staff where is the other half of my boiled egg and said if i want the other half of my boiled egg i have to pay 5 dirhams. Quite tricky i would say. 40 dirham bowl of ramen with half boiled egg? seriously?<br/><br/>I have also noticed that they have some new employees and a lot of the old friendlier employees have left already. Service is no longer of the highest quality as before. <br/><br/>But the food is ok.

This place was amazing!! I would have given it more stars if I could. The food was fresh and the taste was excellent. The food had such an authentic feel - well worth for the price - which is infact very reasonable. Staff were very friendly and polite too. We will surely be coming back here for more!

Its not really filling , too little of everything but its so good!

I have never been to Japan but I have eaten plenty of Japanese food to know the difference between a good meal and a horrible one. What I had in Samurai was seriously bad and super disappointing. I only gave an extra star because the staffs were really nice, but it stops there. First and foremost, what’s with the electronic belt serving plastic sushi for display purposes? I don’t understand the significance. The restaurant was quite empty for a Friday night, that was a good enough sign but my cravings for sushi was just out of control 😕 so I went in anyway with a controlled expectation. I order fresh sushi and the shrimp samurai. We also add on the chicken katsu and spider roll. For drinks we had that shaved ice thingy and green tea. Before I get to the bad part, the green tea was the only thing that was nice. The rest seriously needs improvement. The fish was not fresh at all 🤦🏼‍♀️ the cut was too thick and I felt like gagging. I motored through with wasabi and soy. The most disappointing meal was the spider roll. Gosh, how can anyone burn a beautiful soft shell crab is beyond me. It angers me when you don’t treat ingredients with respect. It was so bitter even the avocados couldn’t mask it. Even the breaded chicken for the katsu meal was burnt. I don’t understand, I don’t know if there is any quality check before you send your meals out. And to end this already horrible meal, the shaved ice!! They might as well take the whole ice cube and serve it. It was rough and nothing like the picture. It’s was just some roughly shaved ice with some chocolate syrup, one miserable scoop of ice cream and 4 pathetic thinly slice bananas. I felt like I went to eat in my enemy’s house. That’s how I felt. If you’d ask me, a rating of 3.7 is too generous. Nope, no more samurais for me.

As I’m typing this I can feel my mouth watering and craving for their food 😜 amazing, amazing japanese food. Their curry isn’t overwhelming, tempuras done right, yakinikus are bomb! The best kani salad, the best rolls too! Uggghhh we keep coming baaaack! Although they don’t have the best noodle soups, fair game. <br/><br/>Btw, we’ve tried the Mina and the Raha mall branch too but the experience here in Embassies District is so so so much better! Totally recommended 👍🏻

Zomato need to work harder on the delivery , food arrived after 30 min of the promised time and after I called many times they managed to deliver , this is not the first time it’s always like this I think it’s better to order direct next time ... very bad experience

Love love love this restaurant 😭❤️😍. Their Wagyu Beef is the best ❤. And grilling it on the table is an amazing experience . Love their main dishes and their sushi. But their drink's menu needs improvement. Overall 10/10 ❤ . Also the private cabins are comfortable.

My favourite Japanese restaurant. Great fresh and tasty sushi. I would recommend the mushroom soup as a starter. My sushi selection would include the salmon salad and temaki. The most exciting part of my meals are deserts...green tea mochi and Chou cream are my indulgences. Staff are friendly and efficient.

I ordered delivery. One of the good points here is menu. A lots of attractive menu. Different types of ramen is also available. My favorite is temaki.

I don’t know why they have a 3.6 rating. This is one of the best casual Japanese restaurants I have been to inside or outside of the UAE; and I have been to alot of them! Service is on point. The venue interior is cute although they can put more effort on the outside front space. This place really deserves a much better rating.

I can say that Samurai Restaurant is the best Japanese restaurant in Abu Dhabi for it atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and reasonable price 🤗 We enjoyed every single dish that we had from complementary appetizer up to deserts! The location is quite difficult to find but it's definitely worth the visit 👍 it has an authentic Japanese atmosphere and the Philadelphia roll is the bomb!

Samurai is a local group with three outlets in Abu Dhabi. Their menu offerings is quite good but the food quality is average compared to the other Japanese city concepts . The good part is that they have food delivery

Amazing place!<br/>Was not hard to find but it's kinda away from anything though.<br/>Staff was friendly and really nice, they have live grill stations where you can grill your own food and an authentic Japanese seating area where you have to take shoes off.<br/>Ordered: dragon roll,Philadelphia roll and the crispy scallop roll <br/>Tasted really good!<br/>They had loads of other Japanese dishes but I felt like sushi 😂

The standard for this branch has dipped significantly in the last couple of months. Being rather secluded, you would expect a warmer greeting upon arrival to attract guests to patronize your restaurant. Unfortunately this was not the case, I felt like entering a cowboy town upon entering this branch.<br/><br/>Food wise was mediocre at best. I was most disappointed by the Salmon Salad, which was supposed to have avocado in it. The waiter did not even bother to tell me that they ran out of avocado until I questioned him.<br/><br/>The dragon roll is good and the crunchy crab roll was okay. Would not recommend to try the Japanese Curry cause it was not the fantastic.

I think Samurai has the best sushi in town. Their foods are authentic (believe me even i'm just a half Japannese!). I love the unagi, soba, sashimi, tempura and everything they have. I usually visited samurai 3-4 timer per week. Ah, don't forget to borrow their yukata and kimono to make a Japannese photo session in the restaurant.

I ordered for delivery at home, I ordered sushi and sashimi, all Salmon, as soon the food arrived at home I opened the box, and the fish had string smell, this means the salmon was not fresh, of course was not old old but not fresh as salmon should have been.

If you are craving for sushi its the right place to go .. they are. They are open till 12 wich made me go there ... i only ordered only 3 items and they where good ... would definitely order from them again.. <br/>

Good Japanese take out , they have a really delicious and fresh crab salad (Kaniko). Sushi is below average but i guess good for a quick fix. One of my favorite dishes here is the kaki Udon noodles, very warm and filling. Another good dish i tried is the chicken katsu curry with rice. <br/><br/>I regularly visit this place for decent Japanese take out.

We ordered ramen for dinner. We had shoyu ramen and shio with butter ramen. I just wish the ramen that was served is hot. The soup was lukewarm. I guess they poured the hot soup over a cold noodles that why it got cold. Total let down for me and my family as an avid for Japanese food. <br/><br/>Ramen supposedly serve piping hot and to be enjoyed by slurping the noodles away from the bowl. <br/><br/>I'm still on a search for the best ramen in Abu Dhabi, i guess i didnt able to find it here. Originality of both taste and atmosphere! I like their sushi and choucream cake custard the most. You can enjoy their belt of freshly made sushi. For the people who like meat. I loved their wagyu! You should give it a try. They also have a grill that you can use. Special private rooms. <br/>The location is a little bit tricky because it is on the other side of the building. <br/>

I personally love this place.<br/><br/>Irrespective of the restaurant design and its not as fancy as other sushi places, yet their sushi is taste and not full of sauces. You eat more than any other sushi place because their rolls are light and not full of creamy cheese

We came here for lunch on a week day. Only one table was busy. The staff was friendly. We ordered a salad and some rolls. All ingredients were fresh. The salad was lacking flavor. The highlight of the meal was the fried roll with cheese (can't remember the name). Overall we had a pleasant dining experience, and we will be back to try new things on their menu.<br/>

Don't let its almost obscure location deter you from going here - if you're in or around this area, Samurai is a must-try spot for its wholesome and flavourful Japanese food that is complemented by excellent customer service. Strongly recommend sitting in a private room as there isn't much of a view from the outside anyways and, moreover, it's a cosy and intimate space that is quite rare to find at most restaurants in a busy city like Abu Dhabi. We ordered a portion each of the tempura maki and crispy California maki (asked to have it without the crab roe though). Also ordered a chicken katsu with curry and rice, split two ways and plated separately (and beautifully!) at our request. A perfectly filling and tasty meal, and the staff were most accommodating and friendly. A great experience overall, and I would certainly like to return for more!

The "Grill your own beef" experience was savory, I usually order the japanese pizza called an 'Okonomiyaki', its not on the menu but is absolutely delicious. The sushi is OK, nothing spectacular. I wish they would create more varieties and introduce more items on the menu. Overall a good experience and the servers were very attentive.

Was craving a descent ramen so i searched and luckily found this hidden gem. The location is not the best however i reached there easily with the help of the gps ofcourse 😂 ok so i ordered the chicken butter ramen and it was excellent, so hearty and filling and the portion was amazing. I ordered maki rolls ( fry salmon and cheese, crunchy crab and another crab type) they were yummy too so fresh and tasty. One downside however, they took too long to get our order. Overall it was a great experience and surly ill visit again

For a Japanese Cuisine Lover I would recommend this place. This joint is OK for a quick lunch. It could satisfy a sushi craving if one knows what to choose from the menu. I would rate their rolls between 3 and 3.5 (depending on the selection). However, the waitress knew extremely well the menu and was very friendly. Her service deserves at least a 4.5 :)!

A hidden restaurant in a quiet resident area, even the entrance is at the back of a residential building. The staff placed us in a room, this is very good service as we have a baby with us. Food are not bad, consider the price. Overall comment is up to standard.

Samurai is an authentic, Japanese restaurant which was quite hidden from us, but we got there and it was worth it. The room itself looks very traditional and there are special rooms too specifically for a geniuine dining experience. The waiter was also very nice and had a good knowledge of what we should probably have.<br/><br/>The complimentary squid balls were well marinaded but were a bit chewy, however it was quite good. We ordered a Philadelphia roll, a dragon roll, chicken katsu and some fried rice.<br/><br/>The Philadelphia roll was very fresh from the avocado and the cream cheese. The salmon was also tender and was great. The dragon roll was crispy, tangy and just packed full of flavour. A definite 10 out of 10 for sushi.<br/><br/>The Chicken Katsu had a golden brown crispy skin and tasted as good as it looked. The soya sauce that came with it was good too. It's not easy to bring out a lot of flavour from chicken, but Samurai definitely nailed it. The fried rice was warm and fragrant and tasted good too.<br/><br/>As are waiter recommended it with the sushi, we had the lemon and mint juice. It was thick and very refreshing. The presentation was not extremely great, but well arranged and looked quite good. <br/><br/>Remember, Japanese don't overeat, and the portions aren't that big so order more than 4 portions for a family of 4 and don't expect a takeaway.<br/><br/>Japanese food is superb in this restaurant and there is hardly any room for improvement. Great tasting food and possibly one of the best Asian restaurants that I've eaten from. Highly recommended.

I was happy to see the consistency. I always order a bowl( if not two) of the Kaniko salad. Then there is the choice between sushi, shashimi, bento or the barbecue. Whatever you order, its good at Samurai. Its one of those affordable japanese restaurant with quality food. Something every one can enjoy.

The chef is rather generous with the amount of Wasabi he packs into a tiny roll... trying to recover from the mind numbing burn took a bit of effort over the 6 pieces of what I now call the spicy Wasabi roll with a hint of tuna. The individual rooms with sliding doors and recessed floors is a nice touch with decorations... only wished they did not make me take off my shoes... rather in convenient if u got laces to tie and no bench to sit on... loved the sushi on the whole and definitely going back to try something new.

Personally I find this restaurant to be the best sushi place in Abu Dhabi. Original and tasteful, no fusion hippie sushi, just how sushi should be. Great environment inside, tables and floor sitting. The fried rice is a must try.

Good food and service... Ambience is nice too! Just a comment though on delivering food. I just don't understand why they deliver food one by one. It's like every minute the waiter comes to our table delivering one of each of our food order which is a bit annoying. But nonetheless we still had a good dinner.

Samurai will always be special to me because it was there, where I tried out sushi for the very first time and fell in love with it. There was a branch just near our house in meena. <br/>This branch that we visited today is relatively new, but pretty impressive. I'm happy that my favourite sushi place has grown ..... with a sushi train, tatami rooms, new items on the menu and a bigger dining space. We visited samurai in the afternoon and made ourselves comfortable in one of their tatami rooms.<br/>As starters, we were offered siomai. We ordered a fresh orange & pineapple juice, sha-ke maki, Lamb karubi set, jyo karubi, Philadelphia roll, scallop and avocado roll, beef yakimeshi and gomoku udon. I know, it's a pretty big list but there were 3 very hungry people. I tried the karubi, which is marinated meat to be cooked by us for the very first time. I love the concept of cooking meat myself. The marination was perfect and the meat tasted great. <br/>Scallop & avocado roll which is a new addition was good too but I liked my old fashioned Philadelphia roll better. Nothing can ever go wrong with the yakimeshi, samurai makes it the best! <br/>All the other stuff that we ordered were good too. And we had the most sweetest, soft spoken Japanese lady server. At the restaurant, you even have the opportunity to dress up in a kimono.<br/>If you looking to have authentic Japanese food in a family- friendly environment without burning a hole in your pocket, Samurai is your place!

Try to find a word that have the magnitude of something exquisite and multiple it by any 6 digits, this is how amazing the restaurant is.<br/><br/><br/>

This is my favorite sushi place so far, I have tried sushi in other places but did not do it for me , The food is great and the staff is very friendly I highly recommend to try.

Highly recommended. This place is a hidden gem for sushi lovers. I also tried the chicken curry with rice. Simply amazing. I will surely come back.

Proper Japanese tabe mono. As close as you're going to get to a real izukaya in Abu Dhabi . Pretty authentic.... Specializing in only Japanese food with several yaki Nikku, or Kalbi (Korean) bbq tables and Korean style buzzers on the table for calling the waiter/waitress. Book in advance for teppanyaki.
