This is one of the old gems of Abu dhabi and they provide one of the decent fares of goan /Manglorean cuisine.
We had ordered the chicken lollipop, anjal Tawa fry and schwezan chicken noodles. All the items were nice. I only felt that the Pomfret could have been more fresh. Nonetheless the portions are sizeable
We ordered for Chicken Lollipop but it was very small in size .... wish it was little better in spice and taste.
Delivery was done through the zomato app so it was delivered on time.
Awesome place to have konkani food... It reminded of homely food back in India. Nice , clean and calm ambience. Proper on time service , friendly staff & awesome food. Prices are quite high and quantity is quite less.

Calm n quite ambience. Such a splendid food they served. We enjoyed it. Kids friendly as well. We ordered chicken lollypop as starter, schezwan chicken fried rice, king fish biriyani as main course and carrot halwa as dessert. All the dishes tasted soo good. My husband liked the fish biriyani soo much that he commented that the fish biriyani he had was the best fish biriyani he had recently. Our baby also enjoyed the food. The waiters were very cautious.

Great and authentic coastal food in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Was quite a surprise! Tried the kombdi wadi, prawns sukha, ghee rice, prawns balchao. Highly recommended
The best Mackerel rechado i have ever had!!! The fish here is so fresh. The tawa prawns literally melted in my mouth! Please try their stuffed mackerel in green mixture as thats very different and very tasty! Lastly we had prawn curry which was also so flavorful. I live in dubai and i would come to AUH just to eat their food its that good!!!
We ordered komdi wadi, which is available only on Friday. I heard many times about this dish in Maharashtra, but got chance to have in Abu Dhabi. The curry taste is good but not much spicy as I expected. After having 2-3 stuffed puri, feeling to heavy. Order and staff response is very quick.

We ordered a seafood appetizer which was delicious, perfect amount of spices, not too strong.
And chicken biryani for main which came piping hot and fresh. A big portion which was enough for us to share with some other items.
It was the best chicken biryani I ever tasted in my life. The meat just fell from the bone...

Konkans is one restaurant which is highly talked about within friends of people originating from the konkan belt. It does come across as a good choice for Maharastrian, Mangalorian food. I tried the chicken biriyani and it was quite nice with the right quantity of spices. The serving size is pretty decent too. Would be a bit of a struggle if you are a vegetarian though....
Best Konkan food I ever had. I can smell sea from the sea food. Tawa fish was crisplicious. Sol kadi was scintillating in every sip. Fish curry was full of flavors. Chapati was soft. I also had steamed rice with fish curry (a must try).
Service is prompt and ambience is soothing.

My husband and I ate here couple of weeks ago and loved the food. I’m part Mangalorean, and the food was very much like the food I grew up eating. Will go here again and again! We went on a Friday so I got to eat the Friday special kombdi wade which was awesome! And the sol kadi was really nice too...as were the neer dosas, fish curry and fried fish we had. Amazing find!

In general the food and the service is outstanding.
Now specifics - The King Fish Malvani Curry - Beyond words to describe; I just love it. And the fact that Konkans actually customizes it to my taste (extra red hot n spicy), it makes this the best fish curry in this town.
A definite recommendation.
The staff there were really friendly and caring. They knew what there job was and did it really well. In addition, the food served had great flavors in them, which made me really like this place. However, the food was served a little later than i was used to in other restaurants and the complimentary papad was a little soggy (probably because i was the last costumer)
Mangalore style dishes are authentic.. It reminds me of native.. Clam sukka is my favourite

Had an amazing dinner this weekend! I was bored of trying out Mughlai, South Indian n North Indian restaurants and was looking for a change. Konkans was the answer. Konkani cuisine is special for fish lovers. It’s a mix of coastal Maharashtrian, Goan and Mangalorean tastes.
They have a special menu on Friday. Tried their Kombdi Wadi( special pooris with spicy chicken gravy), stuffed Pomfret( Pomfret Fish stuffed with green chutney which was amazing) and Chicken Chatpata ( a tangy and spicy chicken gravy) with Rotis. Since I was quite famished, I didn’t wait to click pictures to update on Zomato... we tried their Gadbad for Desert which was really good!
The food items are reasonably priced and is great value for money. The staff is very attentive and explain the menu very well. The food arrived on the table promptly even though it was a weekend and the restaurant was full. This is a must for Fish lovers and for those looking for a taste of authentic Konkani food.

Absolutely loved this place. Its such a pity i live nowhere close to it, or else I’d visit them almost everyday. This place and some of the dishes we ordered were recommended by a friend. The service was quick as well.
Coming to the food, we ordered masala papad, rechad king fish, goan prawns curry with steamed rice, squid masala and a few butter naans and lachadar parathas. There wasn’t one thing that I didn’t dislike. Everything on the table was as authentic as it could get and as yummy as it can be cooked. I’d have to pick the fish and squids if you asked for the best, though the prawns were almost equally good too.
Overall, highly recommended for those of you who loves some konkan side food.

A must visit place if you are craving for some authentic Malwani and Goan cuisine. Other food items other than konkani were not that great. I loved the Sol kadhi. We also tried kolbi vadi, surmai fry, bangda fry and kombdi vada. The vadas were delicious along with the dry fish salad which was quite appetizing. The staff and the ambience were pleasant. Will surely recommend it.

We were here today , out of curiosity to relish some Goan and konkan dishes , searched zomato and decided to Visit Konkans.
Food- We ordered #Bangrarechad and to be honest this one of the best mackerel fish I got eat after a very long time. The Clams and Sukhat chutney with coconut was an add on to really take us back to the coastal western ghats.
#Solkari took me back to my days in Goa, nice balanced flavours.
Overall food taste great.
Service- Overall service is excellent, the staff is very attentive. Decor and hygiene standards are up to a very decent standard.
Price wise- This is place is super satisfying , Dishes are moderately priced and we actually have the view that tastes does a great justice.
Summary- One of the best places to visit if you want to relish on Malwan-konkan speciality food.

Honestly I've been visited a lot of places similar to this one: neighborhood Indian restaurants.I always go because they have good and tasty food in this kind of restaurants. But at the same time I've learned that I should not expect good quality services.
Well this place is really different because at someone will open your door and say welcome when you come in, they will check your table regularly to see if you need anything, everyone is kind and smiling and when you leave they will thank you for passing by.
And the food was indeed full of taste and fresh.

Konkan name refelcts they are best at Sea Food:- taste, quality ,presentation excellent. Sea food is fresh and doesn't smell. Taste & Marination is yum.
Chinese was great disappointment here.
Restaurant has had a new make over. It's a clean restaurant having family sitting arrangements too. Service is a bit slow may be cause of preparation time for grill.
It's a bit pricey for the quantity served.

The food here is authentic and very well priced. If you want to try the coastal cuisine of south India when in Abu Dhabi, then this is the place.
We tried the stuffed pomfret, crab curry and the prawns balchao. All were magnificent, as was the lime soda. The naans were a little thin and crispier than what we are used to but that did not detract from their flavor. The mango lassis were also good.
The place is easy enough to find. The restaurant is clean and has baby chairs. The service was fast and attentive. They also packed up our food to take home with us when we couldn’t finish.
Overall I would definitely try this place again when in Abu Dhabi.

Konkans is an indian restaurant named after the coastal region stretching along the coastlines of western Indian states of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka and catering to the regional coastal food especially the sea food.
Hamour fish tikka and Bombil fry are the top starters. In veg. starters, Kurkure Bhindi is crispy and tasty.
King fish tawa fry, bangda fry and pomfret fry are best fish fries. Malvani fish curry and Goan prawns curry in fresh coconut base is very tempting and a perfect combination with piping hot steamed rice. Clams masala (teesrya masala) and crab roast masala are superb. Neer dosa is very fine thin soft dosa made from rice flour which melts in the mouth and tastes good with the curries. They have kombdi vade only on fridays which is spicy chicken curry with round fried vadas which is a Konkan special and a must try.
The kokum sol kadhi is the best digestive drink and a coolant you must try in Konkans and you dont get this in other restaurants.
Although Konkans is famous for sea food dishes, it also has a wide spread of vegetarian, chicken and lamb items to try from. We visit Konkans only for sea food.
