That was the biggest disappointment in our visit. The management promised that they will sort this out ASAP. Apart from that rest all the food items are tasty. They are really having a big dinning area and perfect location as well. I hope they utilise it in a better way to improve their business. I would recommend them to play instrumental music instead of video songs. Staff uniform,Copper water jugs with glass will add uniqueness. Food used to be good here, had there Friday special thali and it was so bad today. The quality of food went drastically plus the slow service the entire experience was not pleasant. They used to give more curries with their thali meals but now its like 4 max and anything like Rasam or Sambhar is not served and you had to ask for it and was served cold. They took 10mins to get us a can of coke and the restaurant was not even busy.

Both Food and Hospitality are very nice.

Never felt this chetaed lately

Half cooked rice in Briyani. Not the Ambur or Dindugul Briyani they claim it to be, not even close. Poor counter service.

We ordered Chicken 65 briyani, appam set with chetinad fish curry, chicken lollipop plus a soft drink. Right after the order was accepted, we got a call from the restaurant mentioning no chicken briyani left and we were asked to order something else, we opted for chicken fried rice. This happens all the time, I don’t understand why the menu can be updated. If you can’t do it, don’t be on Zomato or any other online ordering app. The food was terrible. Chicken fried rice was not worth it ( you charged extra for briyani and don’t even have the courtesy to replace it with something else), if you don’t have enough batter to make Appam, don’t sell it as the appam were hard and yellowish in colour, you should have changed the fish curry to some pepper fish curry. Be consistent in preparing your food, and don’t waste our time. You have deteriorated so much since you first started operating .

Earlier they were giving much better meals . But now it has gone below average and the pickle they served had fungus

Excellent family restaurant, It's a typical Chettinad based restaurant. The main thing is its a family based restaurant and kids ambience based restaurant. The kids are very much enjoying in this ambience. In abudhabi there are so many kerala restaurant. But Tamil based restaurant is very low. Th taste of each and every recipes is extra ordinary. So many varieties in every day. Particularly in weekends. Iam really appreciating the management for giving good food in abroad. Last but not least. Iam feeling this restaurant like my house. Iam always missing my family members but when I came here for dining I really feel like my home. The hospitality is excellent. Life is short make it sweet. So please visit banana leaf restaurant once in a life time.

A simple and tasty food place. Chettenad style biryani is our all time favorite and weekend chef’s special always comes with a surprise. Fish curry is amazing and service is fast.

Had ordered veg thali.2 dishes were cold I have a strong feeling it was straight from the kitchen and reheating was not proper... waiter also forgot to serve chips which he did to customer sitting next to me

The worst food I have experienced from Zomato. No mutton in mutton biryani.

They should consider increasing the Quantity of mutton in the briyani. To be exact it came with only two small pieces. But quality and taste is very good.

Three trips to this restaurant and I've come away with mixed feelings.<br/><br/>First the positives: <br/><br/>The restaurant though not large is comfortable and cool.<br/><br/>They have an extensive menu with a very large selection of south Indian cuisine. The restaurant serves a variety of regional South Indian fare. Kerala, Andhra, Mangalorean and even some Goan cuisine.<br/><br/>The food is wholesome and tasty and offers good value for money, though the portions are on the smaller side.<br/><br/>The Negatives: <br/><br/>Two of my visits were on my own and during the week. Ordered the biriyani which was quite good. <br/><br/>Service was quick and efficient with only two other tables occupied. <br/><br/>Second visit - Ordered the biriyani combo. When served I thought I had mistakenly ordered the kiddie portion. The portions were tiny and were only a few mouthfuls; ended up ordering another combo!!!<br/><br/>My third visit was with the family on a weekend for lunch. The restaurant was busy and the staff went completely banana's with our order. Service was poor. Starters came when we were about to finish our main courses. Portions were again minuscule. <br/><br/>We also tried the 'Sadya' which is like a little buffet served on a banana leaf. It was good without being exceptional. Again ordered the biriyani, and they forgot to serve the sides that went with it. <br/><br/>They also serve 'Indianized Chinese' food to suit the Indian Palate. The kids did enjoy the chicken noodles which was quite good.<br/><br/>Another irritant was that even though they had an extensive menu, a lot of the items were available only in the evening. Perhaps they should consider two menu's?<br/><br/>There are interesting desserts on the menu, but unfortunately they only had a tired fruit salad and ice cream.<br/><br/>Will I go back? On my own for a quick lunch - Yes. <br/><br/>With the family or with guests on a weekend? - Not until they get their service issues sorted!!

The delivery is quick even in remote area like Mussaffah Sanayyah area. Average south Indian food and can consider for a medium quality every day food.

Very much disappointed. Already price is high, and in the combo biriyani, they say pepsi and chickent 65 and when we get, no pepsi and 4 small pieces chicken 65. It was better to order biriyani alone, still the rate is too high for the taste and quantity. Very leas quantity. First time trying, but not happy at all. Quality less, not tasty and price high in one word.

Well, I saw the reviews and I was scared to go in! But I liked the name of the restaurant, since I know the best Thali comes on a banana leaf, and so I took the chance - it was very delicious and cheap, so I guess at Banana Leaf restaurant you should order the banana leaf thali! I’m non-Indian but before you discount my opinion, I’m a big fan of Indian food and in UAE for 20 years and enjoying lunch thalis all the time - this veg thali was excellent in variety and taste, and cost me only 12 dirham! The restaurant is modern and clean, and the service also was friendly. For veg thali, this restaurant is very good!

Frnds I have ordered 8 sets of chappathi and two sets of curry. But they have delivered me readymade chappathi which is available in baqala, then y we need to order this to hotel. When I informed them about this they were very cool and answered that the chappathi were brought from saniya. I have suggested too many frnds to this hotel before, but from today I won’t suggest any of frnds. I can’t even give one star and not willing to continue with Zomato also.

I went here for a quick lunch in between work and had their barik meal set. Neat and quite place.Taste was ok,but can be better. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Maybe will try their north indian dishes next time.

Comfortable South Indian restaurant the prices are a little high.. there karimeen Pollichathu is too good but I am not satisfied with any of the curries I ordered. most of them have too much gravy and very less pieces

First of all the staff's were polite. (Y) porotta and garlic nan was good. But chicken hot & sour soup was not at all good that i couldnt have a second spoon of it. They cancelled the order/ didnt mention in the bill.

Request food-doesn’t delivered..without informing to client they are deciding substitute and no curtesy to apologize for the mistakes!!Do not wonder that they will dilver something else vs your order 😅😁😁Also they are very fast on Dilivery and will take minimum one hour..Innocent dilivery boy speaks only malayalam😁...first-time happen with Zomato,so dont be a victim for BAnana 🍃.....

I went with my friends to try Saturday Special Non veg meals. Total disappointing experience. <br/>Rice. Cold seems took from fridge<br/>Fish fry. Not good colour used<br/>Chicken.fry . not hot<br/>Curries. Average not hot<br/>Price....its premium rate <br/>Staff . Average casual<br/>Total waste of money.

Is it me or does the Mutton Biriyani taste like pepper rice??...Was sooo full for some reason with half a biriyani that i skipped dinner...May be add some real masala or something..really shouldn't be calling it biriyani...

Nice place for South Indian briyani varieties. Daily they prepare variety of briyani. The gravy what they give is delicious. My friends used to have dindugul thalapakatti briyani

A comfy south Indian based restaurant. The staff are friendly and polite. Ambience is good and rates are reasonable. I had gone for lunch with my family. I had the mutton biriyani. And it was yum. No complains. The flavors and spices were good. The paysam tasted good too.

Just had prawns curry in banana leaf hardly with prawns in it. Very bad for the price I paid for it. Terrible experience. Try not to visit again.

I like the taste. But the delivery was too delayed. Don't know why but that's my first time order with Banana Leaf. Let me check in my second time order.

Loved the ambience. Less crowd and good staff.. We ordered Veg Kadhai, Kerala Paratha and Hyderabadi chicken kebab, only kebab was great rest was okay. Since it’s a South Indian restaurant I think I’ll give a try to South Indian dishes next time (with banana leaf ofcourse) . So for now 3 stars..

Worst food ever. We ordered thalassery mutton curry,and we were served chicken Curry.when informed about the mistake they took off the dish from table right away and had to wait 20mins to receive the mutton curry dish. The gravy looked and even tasted the same as chicken dish earlier served.tiny mutton bits and pieces mixed in gravy. Tasted sour. The ambience is good, the place is well kept and the staff are nice.<br/>The food is just nice, not exceptionally tasty. Tasted normal. Tried masala dosa, ghee roast, normal dosa, parotta and vegetable kuruma.<br/>The rest tasted normal, but the kuruma was amazing.<br/>Will try something else next time.<br/>

I had the Iftar combo in this restaurant which was merely bland food, no taste and the quantity was less for 5 persons, just waste of money, going Alacarte is better than combo, customer service was minus zero (-0) and very slow service ever I had seen. Not recommended for the family with kids just for poor bachelors.

Had dinner with a few friends tonight. Quality of food on general was not good as expected. All the items were too spicy. Other than Veg fried rice, butter nan, egg masala & kulfi ice cream, other items were not up to the standard. The rate of the items was a plus point .

We came at 9:20 PM and waited for table until 10:30 PM. Manager and their staff didn't try for any arrangement and adjustment from others to get table. Finally when we were in table there is nothing to eat in this restaurant. We simply moved from this place at 10:45 PM.<br/><br/>They should inform while we are waiting.. atleast we can plan to move for other restaurants.<br/><br/>If they cannot take order or service the food within10:30 PM then why they were kept opened the restaurant until 11:30.<br/>

A South Indian restaurant with decent ambience, though food is subject to your taste.<br/><br/>I have had food here before, the prices are okay and the food quality is just fine but nothing to wow about! Last visit I ordered Mutton biryani, it turned out to be rice with some Mutton pieces and a boiled egg in it. The Rice were bit flavored but it was not actual South Indian biryani which one should expect, masala was missing.<br/><br/>My ratings goes to their past food experience specially for their non veg thali.

We love the awesome Thali here. A wide range of veggies, fried fish, chicken dish, Rice n Chappatis, sweets and much more. Price is a bit higher. Need to reduce the price a bit. They also do home delivery. Easy accessible.

Another day of disappointment...i belive i seriously have to admit the fact that Musaffah is lacking good Kerala restaurants... we reached arounf 1.30 pm and they took the order by 1.45 and food was deliverd by 2.30... ok fine we sat without complaints and to the irony restaurent was not at all busy,here and there 2-3 seatings were occupied thats it...we ordered veg meals( they brought us chicken curry meals and took a lifetime to replace it),paneer tikka masala and phulkas... i hsve no idea what they were thinking while they were cooking as it was hilariously bad ^-^ .... BL team, also keep in mind that there is a huge difference in kearala and Tamil Nadu meals... u shud understand that very well...u cannot serve a customer tamil nadu meald when they specifically ordered you Kerala meals... Not Tamil Nadu... Now we are proud of our patience and tolerance level...

I have Tried, Chicken Biriyani, Egg Dosa, Chapathi, Chicken Lollipop , Kerala Parotta etc from here. So far the experience has been really good and Pricing wise also its reasonable. Certainly one of the best places in Shabiya, Mussafah area  to try out south indian Veg/ Non veg cuisine !

Consistently outstanding dining experience. Beautifully presented, delicious food served with attention. The breakfast was cooked to perfection.
