This is a place which was first introduced to me by a friend for her babyshower. We loved the food. I have been there 5 times already. Lovely spread of buffet. The first floor has great veg and non veg options in Indian and Chinese and the salads and dips and desserts are very nice too. My kid loves the jelly over there.
The food is quite nice compared to many other big names. They have decent varieties and taste wise they are upto the mark. I loved their chicken lollypop and other dishes too. Thumbs up 👍
I decided to explore the buffet menu at Caravan since I heard a lot about them. They have two sections, one at the ground floor and the other one at the first. The first floor had a mix of Chinese, indian and other cuisines and hence decided to sit upstairs. Starting with salad, it was good. Soups were mediocre but the starters were amazing. Chicken malai tikka stood out. I noticed one thing that the usage of salt in their food is minimum, which is great for people who consume less salt, for others, you can always add as per your taste. Butter chicken stood out and so did the biryani. And omg, gulab jamuns were yummy. A good place and a good food considering the price point. Improvement on variety of food is needed. My suggestions would be that if you keep indian food, don't keep too many dishes from one part of India, in our case it was more of South Indian dishes. You should have one Maharashtrian, one Punjabi, one Gujarati and so on - make it like a mixed generic indian cuisine instead of a specific one. Overall, you should give it a shot!
You can find wide variety of food for buffet and it is very tasty and neatly arranged. This is very pocket friendly and a place we can arrange office parties.
We normally opt for home delivery from Caravan and we always go for their mixed grilled platter. The dish is consistent in taste and has never disappointed us. Along with it we usually order the hamous and roti. Out of all places where I have had hamous from, this is one of my favourites. It has that garlicky flavour mixed with chickpeas and thahina. The quantity is sufficient for 3 people and the prices are reasonable. Will try for a dine in next time.
Every ramadan one of the buffets we look forward to is the caravan buffet, priced reasonable at approx 65 aed per head, with a wide spread buffet that caters to almost all taste buds, be it adults or kids. i have even had the opportunity to host my sons 1st bday at caravan, and everything was well taken care of and food was great as expected!

Pocket friendly Buffet options with big collection of buffet menus covering almost all the taste-buds desire and good service and ambiance which makes it visit again
Had a great time at Caravan for a toddler’s birthday celebration .. enjoyed most of the items in the dinner buffet .. especially butter chicken , Thai coconut beef fry, all the salads, dal, and chicken kebabs (chicken biryani didn’t taste fresh) .. desserts all of them were super yum except for ras malai (was hard, so didn’t try it) loved the space and super friendly staff and seemed reasonably priced and everything was organised perfectly !!
Tried the lunch buffet on a thursday. 65Dhs.
Loved the Fried Fish and the Prawns Fried Rice.
Starters: Veg samosa was good. Didnt like the chicken kebab too much.
Liked the prawns fried rice.
Desserts had gulab jamun, fruit salad, pudding and a chocolate mousse (I think, didnt try this one though)
Unlimited soft drinks and water. (Al Ibrahimi charged for the water even!!!!)
Place was good, clean. friendly staff.

I went with my Indian friends for dinner buffet. Nice food. Great salad selection. Their sweets are good also. Friendly staff and warm ambiance.
Great ambience... a very gud option for a small get -together........the fud is very tasty.. thrs a great variety of fud in te buffet ... te service is also excellent
One of the good places in abudhabi for a good, tasty buffet. The pricing is quite good. The quality is always good and the service is friendly. The salad, soups, starters and the main course are all good. My favourite is their salad and deserts counters, which they always have good stuff.
I have been a visitor to this place since 6years. Their quality is always well maintained. It's a good place for small get togethers or parties.
Very delicious food😋 ...... good service👌 ....... simple place ...... he buffet includes all varieties 😍... the price is convenient👍I want to come her always ... .. I enjoyed 💙💙💙💙 thanks caravan restaurant 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Honestly this restaurant needs to do a bit of marketing. I might not be the top most out going person but certainly know most of the well known indian/asian restaurants baring this one. This place is huge, we went for a birthday party and there were another 4 different parties on at the same time. So 5/5 for the place/ambience/ location for parties. This has to be the first place which serves buffet in huge quantity and still don't sacrifice on taste or quality. Non veg starters specially chicken tilka's were great, Chinese curries and fried rice were perfect as well. Deserts had gulab jamun and ras malia and chocolate mousse and unlimited aerated drinks. All they need to do is organise the place well as the buffet area is only one and sometimes people from different parties land up there at the same time so the wait is long it gets messy in the buffet area. Otherwise definitely recommended for people who want to celebrate their kids birthdays.
Best buffet i had while my visit to abu dhabi those starters were awesome but desserts were delicious specially the chocolate ice cream and the service and ambience was so lovely
Good starters and main course .
Deserts are not that great what is expected . Julab jam was too sweet , Um ali is not that great.
One of more thing , NO AC . Which has to be highlighted.
Wide range of dishes in buffet.
Food: 4
Service: 4
Ambience: 3.5
Great for small parties like birthday, engagement etc.
Sitting arrangement is available for around 70-80 guests.
Buffet dinner after a really long time. AED 55 during weekdays including saturday. Used to be only around 35 back in the days.
They mostly consist of Indian/Chinese food. And have varieties of salads and desserts too.
2 kinds of soup, 3 chicken starters , veg spring rolls, fried rice , biriyani, varieties of curries and the menu goes on and on. I had tasted all of them and it was all good.
A Very nice buffet, must say, that they put their very best in. The staff is awesome. And the food is too good. I loved the fish, salads are fresh and deserts are outclass.
A must try.
Worth a try :-) the buffet spread was good. The salad session had some very good options. The cold pasta salad with fruita n nuts was the best. Also liked the noodles and paneer as it was all mildly spiced with minimum oil. Very economical surely one good place to try Indian and continental spread.
A good place to go out if you like a huge spread with all possible options. The preparations were ok but some of the dishes were not warm. Quite centrally located and good for groups with varying taste buds.
A lovely place with good food. Fantastic birthday celebration with food enjoyed galore. What more do you need? I have had only heard an excellent feedback about the food from my guests. Doubt anything more need be said!!
Having tried the Caravan in Doha, I had high hopes for the one in Abu Dhabi. We had the chinese hot and sour soup, chicken manchurian, mixed fried rice and chicken noodles. Everything was delicious and the prices are super low. Expect to pay around AED 120 for a complete meal including drinks. Definitely a deal to beat.
Caravan had the restaurant buffet set up upstairs of Ponderosa but you can make your orders from both. Most of the upstairs customers were usually large family groups for occasions. We've done a birthday or two here also. Service is accommodating, simple and non-assuming. Food selection is great for either a private buffet set up upstairs or having single orders added in.
this is the place where we have whole family lunch or dinner buffet.. always loved the fish n chips... fresh salads etc... A place worth the amount you spend... great place for eater foodies...
I like to go there with my wife between time and another specially if were near to remember some great times when we were recently married.
Their food tasty
Buffet style
I would give them 5.0 if they came with new dishes!!!
I know them for years, and its the same dishes from the first visit!!!
The restaurant is located on the first floor above Ponderosa Steak House.
The seating and ambiance are decent.
The starters included chicken kebabs and tikka, mushroom 65. The main course included fried rice, noodles, steam rice, bread basket, butter chicken, dal and variations of fish. The chicken kebabs were quite good.
Desserts included mousse, gulab jamun etc.
To summarize, great variety of dishes for a buffet for a fair price.
This is one of the best places for buffet. Perfect for birthday party's and meeting family and friends.
Whenever we go we sure had good time. Wide variety of food in buffet, from nans, roti, tandoor, rice dishes and not to forget to mention the desserts. They are yummmm.....
Went here with my wife for a Valentine's Day dinner buffet and we enjoyed it! Different cuisines from different asian countries, although they're not much, we were surprised with how they tasted for its price. We would definitely go back here! 👍👍
My wife and I LOVE this place. It costs about 50-60 per person (not 70 for two). Great spread, food tastes good, especially their soups are awesome. For the value of money, no one, NO ONE in Abu Dhabi can beat Caravan.
Go and give it a try!
P. S. I am someone who loves food and is opposed to writing just any reviews.
Really nice restaurant... Went for the dinner buffet and boy was filled to the brim... The good thing about here is that all the dishes were worth trying...

Superb environment and tasty food. Place is very hygienic and pleasant service by the staff. Would like to revisit again and the only opinion I would like to share is; It would be great if you can prepare and add a spicy southindian dish to the buffet.
Very good place for a buffet. Has got a very good collection of Indian and pan Asian dishes. Nice place to visit with family. Kids would have loved to have a scoop of ice cream as part of the buffet though it is missing!
A variety of dishes for you to select. The waiters are fast enough to clear you used dishes. Its so filling in such low budget. The hot gulab jamuns is remarkable
The best thing about this place is its buffet. With a wide variety of Indo - Chinese dishes, it is quite popular especially among the Indian population.
Perfect place for family gatherings and parties.
I've been going to this place since so many years, but still the menu remains more or less the same.
A wide selection of salads and mains including the typical fried rice, butter chicken, vegetable curries, naan and roti. The dessert spread is amazing as well.
I would recommend you to go for it on an empty stomach so tht you can really enjoy all the dishes in the buffet.
Price seems fair too
Have been going to place from ages but have not really reviewed...enuf said we still go there on a family gathering, it's our meetup place and it still stands up to our expectations.... Would like an update on there buffet though
My family is a regular visitor to this restaurant. They are reasonably priced for a buffet and hospitality is great. good variety in salads, main course and desserts. They need to improve on Rasmalai and Biriyani in particular. This restaurant is a favourite for our kids.
One of the best and economical buffets which has more Indian items. Good for small parties and get togethers. Staff attitude is really good.

The best buffet restaurant where you get delicious Indian food. You have a whole variety of items. A very good place for family dine in. Desserts are also very tasty.
The collection of buffet items is just amazingly vast. The quality and the taste also is extremely great. The price is just perfect and worth every penny.
The rating is 1 less only due to the ambience which is not that great comparing the food they serve.
good job Caravan Team :)
I think it is my favourite buffet restaurant. Caravan serves a curious, but tasty, buffet of Indian, Thai, Chinese and Arabic food. I recommend to go there on a Saturday where it is not that busy, on Friday it is really packed. Buffet price includes soft drinks but no juices.
One of the best buffet ever had in Abudhabi. .... Good service..... lots of variety of food....... Deserts served at the end was fantastic. ..
I literally grew up in this restaurant. It is an absolute family fave!
Their buffet offers good food options and their grilled meats are great! The desserts fall short but by the time you're done with your meal you won't even have space for them as the main dishes are so good!
They also offer take out and is what we prefer to use on days no one wants to cook but we still want some proper food.
Their chicken dumplings are THE BEST and so is their chicken manchurian. I would recommend you try the butter naan and the chicken fried rice as well! Their mixed noodles are also quite delicious and are a hit with our family and friends.
I had a wonderful time in Caravan. Their service was great. The food over there was even better! The desert was awesome! I liked the Chinese more than Indian food but according to my family members both of them were good. The price was fine too, according to other restaurants I have visited the amount over here was sufficient. It was valuable. The vegetarian food was amazing! Last but not the least the deserts, they were amazingly awesome! I tried all of them I liked the gulab jamun of theirs there was an Egyptian sweet too which was nice to taste. Caravan restaurant is a good place for us people. I would advice u guys to go there.
Went there for an iftaar party..it was a good experience..Indian food was good bt i loved their chinese ..huge varieties of salad n desserts ..in short a mst try for every foodie
A good buffet for a typical indian family they hav got choco and jello for kids salads for wives and lots of chicken and meat for the hoggers 😋 but sad thing is the menu is never changing and ull get bored after the second time but the milk deserts are awesome and must try.
We had iftar at caravan and it was a really good spread. Worth the money and there were different items in the buffet of different cuisines like Indian, thai, and chinese. The salad bar was really good too. All in all, a fulfilling iftar meal. One downside there's no praying area so we just had to make do with our small space next to our table. But for 65 dhs, can't complain.
I love this place. The Indian food is among the best, I love the quality and the variety. It might not be the biggest and best buffet there is and theyre not aiming to be that. But they're food is of top quality and you get for what you pay.
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Location: 2.5/5
Food Value: 5/5
Quality n delicious food! Mixture of Indian Chinese dishes.. Variety of starters n then 5 variety of gravies n main course was also satisfying n up to the mark.. Desserts also gave a last taste to the taste buds.. Great experience
Delicious food with decent price...... And it is unlimited tooo...... But there will be a pre prepared menu.... It doesn't matter at all.... You'll like it for sure....
A nice decent buffet at a good competitive price.
We went for lunch and yes it was crowded!
The variety was vast and the taste was great.
Lovely starters maincourse and OFCOURSE the dessert 😍
Love the place. Will visit soon.
I had a buffet there and really impressed. The interior could have been little improved, otherwise, the dishes were fine and met expectation. 4 to 5 varieties of chicken, 2 varieties of fish, beef variety, decent veg dishes, biriyani - needs improvement, white rice wt dhal, ghee rice, gulab jamoon, rasamalai, jellies, chocolate cream and 4 varieties of salads. Presense of ice creams could have taken this buffet more worthier but don't know why it is not included in the buffet. But the bottom line, 62 AED (on Thursdays and Fridays) is really a worth spending here. Please visit and you LL like it.
The best buffet ever! Very reasonable price also..it's a must visit..there are probably all common dishes from Indian and Chinese cuisines..definitely it will give confusion what to eat where to start.. Definitely must try!
Good place for vegetarians people. Food is ok with limited choices for non-veg.
Service is good also.
I can say that is good place for quick lunch or dinner.
The best option if you r gng to have a buffet..they have a variety of salads and desserts..I liked some salad made with apple pieces and cashewnuts..don't remember the name exactly..but a must try..soups and main course are all ok..biriyani is good.fish items not so good ..altogether decent food at an affordable price...good for parties n celebrations...easy to reach..restaurant is neat and staff is nice too..
This review is a little late, as my visit was back in June of this year before I left Abu Dhabi for the summer. I went here with a friend who has been eating here for years and wanted me to try it out. All I can say is you get your monies worth, and the selection is good. If you're not sure exactly what you are hungry for, then this is the place to check out. There are almost too many choices, so you have a tendency to eat a little too much. This is definitely on my list of favorites.
This is a nice place if you are into indo-chinese food.
Their buffet is nice. They have quite a few dishes to choose from; a mix of Indian chinese and some continental dishes. They have biryanis and some chicken tikkas to choose from too.
Its a good buffet in its price range amd can cater to a variety of pallets as the food is neither too bland nor too spicy.
They also cater I think and you could set up to have a small party (I have seen many small gatherings here)
Its a good place to walk into when you are really hungry and cant decide what you want to eat coz you can always find something you can enjoy here.
The staff are quite nice too and the service is good, they are quite prompt about bringing you what you order quickly and clearing away the used dishes. I think this is really important for a buffet coz if u are made to wait you tend to loose your appetite. All in all a good buffet for the price cant say anything too negitive about it.
Definitely worth a visit!
A good stop for a decent buffet. They have quite a variety of dishes & the taste is also pretty good. On a personal note, visit them on a weekday rather than a weekend it will make a difference to your experience. The food is good but not very great, the price is also reasonable. Worth a try. Enjoy...
we usually had buffet at caravan restaurant, which is located on top of ponderosa. their buffet is very affordable and has varieties to choose from, from appetizers ( soup & salads) , main meals ( mixture of authentic indian and chinese or oriental cuisines upto yummy desserts (cakes, gelatines etc.) their place is warmth and service is great.
I visited this place for the first time for my colleagues first wedding anniversary.I had the opportunity to try their buffet. The butter chicken as mentioned by many is really worth trying. After that I have visited this place several time with friends and family. The price is extremely reasonable. The ambience is simple and peaceful. The location is good, right in the heart of downtown.
HAd been with family here, loved the food. Menu is excellent, waiters are also co-operative.
Only drawback its very conjusted inside and too dark and clumsy.
Worth for the money. Improved buffet menu.
If you're on a fixed budget n want to eat to heart's content this is The Place. Chicken variety was abundant, biryani was too good. The Naan n butter chicken side dish was good as well. Desserts weren't great, but after such a heavy meal, consuming few Gulab Jamuns n Rasmalais were a challenge. Overall s place one can definitely try out. A buffet for 49AED where would u get
If you are on budget and need to fuel up overly this is the place to be with value for money buffet selection they have never failed to satisfy.
Food variety is commendable and taste acceptable as you wouldn't care after your tummy is decently filled. I have noticed their butter chicken have been a flop in our few visits ! Look out for the fried fish which we like the most.
Need to have a better dessert menu though it has never been our priority after we are filled up.
Interior is a lil worn out and the Staff are good
awesome Indian food buffet, the food is great, I keep coming back for the food, I have no idea what they use, but the flavor is amazing. the location of the restaurant ticks me off though, you hardly find parking at night.
i love their butter chicken!!! its the best!! i love the cream on it! BEST butter chicken in AD! their prawn tikka is nice also! oohh ya the butter nan with the butter chicken is soo nice also! Recommended definitely!
I love this place! I've known it for over six years and I still come back. The butter chicken masala is by far the BEST I've tried. So creamy and delicious; a must try!
The only problem is the staff, sometimes they tend to get a bit unfriendly especially if it's crowded and too many people are ordering. But I love the food so I always come back.
The chicken biryani, chicken tikka, prawn tikka and chicken curry are all great options, besides the amazing butter chicken masala.
