Small and cozy place
Too bad it is closed ... :(
I was always strugling for nice tandoori roti and chapatis once i moved into khalifa city till the time i found this. Later tried their main menus and grills and they were good too, but for tandoori wheat rotis they are the only one in Khalifa City 😀
Very tasty meal - the kebab was a little bit too salty for my liking but my hubby enjoyed it. Large portions too.
Delivery arrived on time and was reasonably priced. Will definitely order again.
Khadai paneer was the best in the area as the paneer was so soft and well cooked with the proper furies and spices everything was completely cooked and the taste of each ingredient was the all away👌❤️
Daal makhni- it was the complete package of the home made daal which reminds me of the mommies love.
Tandoori roti- the roti was completely well cooked and soft. As earlier when i use to ordered from the other restaurant it gets harder during the delivery but here it was still so softened and hot also👍. I really enjoyed the meal and i loved it.. must visit there services are awesome.
If Tandoor Express was a 1980's T.V show it would be the MacGyver of prime time T.V. Not quite the fast food of The A Team, heck Mac hated guns, but then again not the formal dine in of Murder She Wrote as there was still the pyrotechnic based stunt each episode to bolster the action. The freshness of the ingredients in dishes at Tandoor Express and the fact the dishes are prepared on-site, and not at a factory like the mainstays of fast food (McDonalds, Burger King, etc), sets them aside from the fast food classification. While when you dine in you can't exactly escape the feeling of being seated in a takeaway joint, it feels a little out of place like amateur detective Jessica Fletcher the down-to-earth, middle-aged widow using a .45 she refers to as Sherrell, to apprehend the bad guy after solving the mystery.
From a taste perspective the Ambitious Glutton can always enjoy the occasional meal at Tandoor Express, much like a nostalgic re-watch of a MacGyver episode. He finds the vegetable content of the food fresh with a crisp texture much like the mullet that Richard Dean Anderson sported in the 80's.
Service is pretty good too, not over the top interrupting the meal unnecessary like commercials in the middle of the 3rd act, but more like that welcome commercial break you needed to get to the bathroom.
(For those born post 1980....In 1980's The A Team was the fast food of T.V. Easy to watch with overly colorful characters, packed full of action, all at the expense of story line, character depth and plot development. Then at the other end of the spectrum Murder She Wrote was the dine in of prime time T.V. A bit of a blandly packed central character that wouldn't do well on a billboard but given a chance could hold their own, a developing story line throughout the episode reliant on dialog and not automatic gunfire and explosions to stir-up engagement and emotions.)
I had the tandoori half chicken. It was decent enough. On another occasion I had the butter chicken which , contrary to other reviewers , I think was nothing special. I give it 4 stars for the tandoori chicken , after all given their name , you expect them to get that right, which they did
!
I did not like the kebab. It was dry
The raita is OK
I ordered on zomato as it's the only Indian place that didn't have an aed 50 minimum, and would most likely deliver the fasted. i ordered Chicken tikka masala and 2 garlic naans. Delivered very early, chicken was a little salty for me but taste was good, they added a lot of garlic to the naan so I loved it. it wasn't as soft as I wanted it to be, but delivery would do that. Will order again, only for deliveries though.
Very tasty food and served on time (almost). The quantity was also reasonable to say the least. Ordered butter chicken (very good), Chicken chatpata (OK), Chicken reshmi kabab (excellent but a bit bland) missi roti (Nice) the best item was the Kashmiri pulao (awesome)
great food delivered early
delivery was on time. but no salad or accompaniments
did not provide accompanying salad
worth the wait ..food absolutely delicious
Chicken tandoori & chicken ticka masala is very good.
Great indian food delivery for khalifa city residents.
I used to order from them back in 2013 and they are still going strong - minus it is somehow pricy for being a small shop mostly catering for delivery.
Chicken malai kebab 4/5
Biryani rice 3/5
Tandoori prawns 4.5/5
It is worth giving a try and you might discover a god convenient indian place nearby to satisfy that curry craving.
Awesome food. Try thier kababs. It really tastes good. Thier green chutney tastes good. And their freindly staff and ambience makes feel awesome.
Ordered food from Zomato. It was delivered exactly in 1 hour as promised. Delivery guy came on time and was familiar with the location.
Food quantity is huge. I had ordered Veg Biryani and Samosa Plate (4).
Biryani is good in taste but it was plain Biryani without any vegetables. No paneer either. I am not complaining, just mentioned so that any one ordering should be aware.
Samosas were good. Decent size and heavy to eat. The plates in which they were delivered are really nice. Check the pic.
Could not finish even 50% of overall quantity.
Overall, quite happy with the order and restaurant.
The only proper budget Indian restaurant in and around Khalifa City. That is the main reason I visit this place, food is decent. Lack of options for Indian is the biggest pull for the this place.
We invited some friends for the dinner and our experience was great!
Mr Ram and Ms Deepa executed very professional skills and served our guests whole heartedly.
We ordered large mix grill with chicken lal Mirch and bhuna Gosht also chicken biryani.
Food was very tasty and was served hot. There are few things that the restaurant should improve, like, the bread and the seating area.
Our guests enjoyed the food!
Thank you guys for great service and food!
Ordered from here for the first time as we just moved to the area and we're craving Indian.
We ordered the dum biryani, dal tadka and aloo and gobi parantha. I've had better biryanis but this one tasted alright and I was surprised to see only breast pieces.
The dal tadka was one of the very best I've had and the paranthas with the mint chutney were to die for. I would love to try out some of their other (non-biryani) dishes.
Wooow👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻very good food delicious 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Very nice food i want to thanks Mr salman who take my order in very good and nice way I wish ALL THE BEST for his future ....I order chicken tandoor with dal tadka its very nice and all staff is very
Surprisingly decent, considering the amount of not so positive reviews here. We were hesitant ordering from this place to be honest, but the lack of options in the area dictated that we attempt this place
The delivery itself took average time, and the packaging of all the items was good. What was surprising was that for the amount of food that was ordered the overall bill was quite reasonable
As for the food itself, the kababs were all outstanding, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The breads were also soft and well prepared. The gravy dishes were decent and definitely on the bland side, likely because the spice mix was not catering to an Indian palette which is understandable considering the predominantly non Indian clientele they likely have.
The disappointment was the biryani - it was pretty much boiled rice with meat - devoid of any kind of flavour at all
To be fair, we did not indicate spice level so possibly if they know to kick it up a bit, the flavours may be more to the mainstream Indian cuisine.
A repeat? Yes - the kababs were excellent. the price is hard to beat for the extensive menu they have, and delivery was prompt. Next time, an indication will be provided to make the food more "Indian" and that may bring out more flavour.
Average Indian food place but probably best comparing to other Indian places in KC. However the people are nice and friendly . I once also tried the delivery service which was fast .
Seriously I love the food here it was amazing .... The only fault which I seen was in the dessert ... Gulab jamun and ice cream - Always the Gulab jamun has to be hot and the ice cream should be cold .... That's how it is supposed to be made - they gave it both cold and it was crap - I double checked it with them ... They said that they serve it as cold 😑 .... So I didn't like their dessert.
Leave everything aside and just order the chicken platter. The tandoori is one of the best in town as the name suggest. Its tender, full of flavor and delicious !
Great to Indian restaurant in Khalifa City. From the outside it looks like a fast food place, but inside it is a real restaurant with delicious indian food at great prices! Their butter chicken is the best!
Tried this over the weekend for the first time, and I LOVED it.Food is delicious, we ordered 2 chicken biryani's, 1 butter chicken and 1 half tandoori with nan. and everything was cooked perfectly. I loved the delivery that reached rapidly.. only down fall is it wasnt spicy and most indian cuisines would be.
It's what it is. A good takeout that provides relatively quick food for delivery or take away at reasonable rates. Recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala.
Ate here recently during a lunch break. The place was packed, so we placed our order in advance. The lady at the counter might have been flooded with orders, so she missed one out of the 5 items we ordered. Anyhow, it was covered up soon by the team.
The food portions are decent for 2 people to enjoy 2 dishes with bread or rice. We had the chicken in green curry, which was a welcome change from the regular fare served elsewhere. The dal (which was delayed due to not being punched in) was appreciably good as well. They did miss one bit (no butter, no oil) hence my lower ranking. But in no way was the food bad at all.
The rotis (Missi and Tandoori) were fresh, and soft. I really like a place that can make their rotis soft without resorting to using too much oil or butter.
A final grace is the Value for Money factor of this place. Meal for 2 with 2 dishes, Salad, 2 beverages was slightly under 100 AED. Which is a very decent proposition.
I will surely visit them again to try some other items on the menu, but perhaps when it is not as crowded. This would've been a 4.5, but 3.5 only for the two misses. For the money, the food is absolutely worth it!
we love to visit the place every time or even home delivery . we Are going to this place from last three years.
The food here is worth trying . It is pocket friendly and food is authentic..
I will suggest to try their jinga koliwada, motton biryani, all tandoor items and their prawn items.. veg Items are as good as non -veg.
As a foody will suggest try their food
Only little improvement is needed for beverages serving pattern and quality should be improved a bit.
Will continue visiting this restaurant in future also.

Ok course , very local style of restaurant but we appreciate the food very much and the price is very acceptable.we eat chickne burger and try many time beryani and the fresh cook chicken grill.
Yesterday me and wife visited, restaurant was small but we liked the food. Service to be improved otherwise total experience was good. Value for money we enjoyed.
If you live in Khalifa A, this place will fit your Indian Crave, the mix platter is spot on what you need, i have it without the fish though as the tandoori chicken is great. Only small downer is that its not as spicy as i would like it to be.
I must say their food is very good. Ambience isn't so great you're better getting takeaway. But food is very good, clean, and consistent in quality. Definitely a good value deal.
Ordered delivery from Tandoor Express...great value for money, excellent tasting, delivered within promised time. All in all very impressed and will be ordering my indian from here from now on!
