Neither hubby nor I were very hungry, but still wanted to eat something. After walking around for about a half hour in the Al Markaziya area, we decided to try Millennium Favourite. Saw that it was a Filipino restaurant with a decent number of Filipinos eating in it, so we figured it couldn't be bad. :) Plus, it looked clean and the yellow tablecloths looked cheery and welcoming.
I had the combo(?) meal with rice, 1 meat, 1 veg, soup/broth, and a tiny cucumber/lettuce salad (see attached my photo). Cost just aed11. I chose the sweet and sour fish, and the bitter gourd stirfried with egg. While the bitter gourd was quite good, the sweet and sour fish was just a tad off, meaning it wasn't very fresh. Fortunately, the sauce covered most of that problem, and I didn't get a tummy ache.
Hubby had 2 lumpia and an eggplant omelette. Both very ok, but on the greasy side. Would we come again? If we are in the neighbourhood, probably. But a bit less oil in the food would make it better. Total bill, including one can of coconut juice: aed30. Cash only. Decent value for what we got.
First time to eat here after work. I was famished. The resto was empty when we arrived at 3:30. There were so many food to choose from. I ordered half papaitan, hubby ordered grilled milkfish. Two rice and two coke. They gave us complimentary soup (bulalo). It cost us 42 for two persons, not bad. The food was good, papaitan was good. I did not try the grilled fish as i was already satisfied with the papaitan. Newly discovered resto. Im pleased. Food is good at a pocket friendly cost.
