If you crave south Indian #food twice or thrice in a week than you and me have something in common. I have tried most of the south Indian restaurants in #Sharjah and have narrowed down to two places as per me who serve good #southindianfood. This one is Saarangaa Bhojan Shala located in Al Khan, Sharjah. I try to stick mostly to the Dosa menu since I love the dosa most. The ghee roast dosa is usually the best here. I also tried #cauliflowerchilli from here and it was super delicious. It's crisp and full of flavors, a must order. Also, you should try their tea which is better than a filter coffee offered. I do end up visiting this place more often. Follow me on instagram for more review @hungerandeat
We ordered masala dosa, vada sambar maisur masala dosa and filter coffee. Food taste good
Was a regular visitor during my official visits to Petrofac. Use to take our associates or go on my own to this great vegetarian restaurant. Their thaalis are very good, however took my family to have dosas and idlis. Mini button idlis in curd is so good as a perfect starter. Their Kara dosa is must try for the people who love spice. Masala dosa and butter dosa are one of the best I had here. Also to add on you get kacha parking within 100 m range and best for family dine in.
The best vegetarian restaurant in sharjah. Very neat, pleasant staff especially Mr. saravanan. Bigger portions than usual, tasty food. Ney roast and chili poratta must try.
Absolutely delicious dish and authentic way of servicing. I have seen and felt sad for many other Restuarant who doesn’t fold the dosa the way it should. Kindly refer to the photo which is a perfect example to get it done.
Very neat and clean place.. Good south Indian food but please never order Chinese from their menu its horrible. I think they should skip the Chinese from their menu card. Staff is good.
I went here last month.. it has good ambience.. the ghee dosa was too big.. couldn't eat it all alone..😅 Grape juice was amazing.. worth it 🙌
Love the ambience and the food. The mini tiffin they serve for breakfast is really yummy. The staffs are really good and the food is delicious.
Their dosa, uthapam are great. chutney and sambhar tastes better. Filter coffee best in hot beverage. Pocket friendly restaurant. On time delivery. Just give it a try foodies.
Many times we been #saarangaabhojanshala , it turned out to be best.
Can say best south Indian restaurants in Sharjah.
Love to visit again n again❤️.

Best place to have south indian food!!
Had breakfast here. We ordered masala dosa, ghee dosa and mini tiffin. Every food which was ordered were so delicious and was worth paid for.
Staffs were quick in response and the food was served at least time.
Absolutely wonderful cuisine . Great customer care , amazing food and they are very supportive of customers demands!
They have varieties and special dishes each day. We highly recommend to all to visit this great eatery,
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Visited this beautiful place called Saarangaa Bhojan which serves some authentic tummy & heart filling dosa’s and south indian dishes. The place is crowded at lunch timings mostly, the service they provide is outstanding. You get hot and steamy dosa’s , idli’s in minutes. The quality and quantity was well maintained.
Lovely Lovely place
Staff is great and ambience is beautiful
upstairs seating available
I have eaten and liked the dosas ,idlis and uthappams. In fact I frequently order them.
Even the paneer tikka masala was likeable
They always give at least 3 or 4 yummy chutneys alongwith the ordered dish.
What really impressed me about this place is that I once ordered for home delivery and called them back with a minor complaint about the food. and they promptly replaced it !!!
Thats great ethic
Decent meal proper tamil food, bit slow in service but I dint mind since the food was good and had a lot of choices for the spl thali.but the mini meal with sambar and curd rice was average only.the south indian thali is what you should try.good service.right next to petrofac. I like the tamil chappathi and north vegetable biryani out of the lot.
Very polite staff, smiling! The ambience is of a typical tamil rest. With music playing(of course instrumental). We ordered mini meals, veg pulav & their healthy range of juices. The meal was really really authentic. Like the sambar rice and curd rice. Options are with poori and chapatti so you may choose your bliss. I dint like the veggies (you see to the left hand corner). The juices were without ice and sugar! Liver cure, purple pine, weight loss(though this day i had visited two different restaurants not a much of weight loss happened there😸). If you want a light meal or just the juice, this is a place. And this is a pure veg restaurant , one of the best i had here in terms of options to choose from! Tasty food!
Awesome service, good food and very clean restaurant. serves nice dosas and other veg items. i have been here few time and they have never disappointed me.
We were in search of a place which sells Punjabi and South Indian both. After breaking our heads for half n hour we decided to visit this place. To our surprise, the place is huge enough to host a birthday party or some event and still have some space for the customers. Their food is not very expensive and hence we were expecting the food to be Ok’ish. Surprise Surprise!! Onion Utthapam crispy was too good with different types of chutneys. What surprised me more was the Chole Bhature. It’s a South Indian joint and their North Indian food is top notch. The chole was so big that it made some heads turn. 😁
The staff is humble and they suggested a lot of other things too. However, we stuck to what we wanted to eat. Sometimes it can get irritating but since he has a smile on his face at all times, I would give him a discount.. Overall, great experience and I’m going to visit this place every week.
Regular visitor - The best south food.
Caution when trying North Indian and Chinese dishes from here;
Must try Kara Dosa, paneer Dosa, Kashmiri pulav, Kadai paneer.
Staff - 4/5 (very friendly)
Food - 5/5 ( only South Indian foods )
Food - 3/5 ( north Indian and Chinese foods )
Ambience - 3/5 (little noisily)
Value for money - 4/5 (food price is little expensive)
Authentic south Indian vegetarian food.
Must try special unlimited meal in the after noon and massive ghee dosa in evenings.
Ppl who are working here are very friendly which will make you to go here frequently.

Been to this restaurant several times for breakfast... they serve amazing South Indian dishes, good taste, service is also good. They serve thaali’s as well.
Love the food here......Dosa's , Thali's all are quite tasty and we'll served. Must try restaurant. Service is excellent and staff is quite hospitable.
This used to be our Friday haunt either breakfast or lunch. The food is tasty, ambience is good and the staff are friendly and polite. The service is very good. After moving to al warqa we miss this food. Will you please consider opening a branch in warqa or international city please?
I loved this place hope they open more branches in dubai.
We ordered:
Mini tiffin (17dhs): comes with masala dosa, sambar, idli sambar, upumma , kesari , and a filter coffee.
Paper masala dosa:(13dhs) when they brought the paper masala dosa i was shocked ! It was huge and was enough for 2 persons. Tasted really good.
Place was clean. Service was perfect.
Definitely recommend it
We were driving around in Al Khan, Sharjah looking for a bite to eat when I spotted a South Indian restaurant, Saravanaa Bhojan. I was accompanied by my mother who loves Indian vegetarian cuisine [esp South Indian dishes].
We decided to order Ghee Sambar Idli, Devil potato and special coffee [there were quite a few options on the menu]
First came the Ghee Sambhar Idli, basically they are mini idlis dipped in sambhar and are accompanied by a coconut chutney on the side. It was really delicious- the sambhar was perfect and idly was nice and soft. The combination with the chutney would just melt in your mouth.
Next came the Devil potato which was the HIGHLIGHT of the evening. These are spiced up, crunchy potatoes- it’s a mouthful of different flavours and it was DELICIOUSSS. The crunchiness of the potatoes complemented the fiery spices really well.
Lastly, I had the special coffee. This comes in a steel glass with the coffee frothed on top. Im not a really big coffee drinker but my mother insisted that I try it and I must say that it was really nice.
This is your usual vegetarian breakfast place.. nothing special to write about, menu is same what we expect while we visit a vegetarian South Indian restaurant.
My favourites are Ghee masala roast, vegetarian thali, Minimeals and Gopi 65.
Food: good
Service: good
Ambience: good
If you like fresh, well-prepared seafood then you're in for a treat. [Pet hate, people who go to a seafood restaurant and order then say it's not amazing]
We booked a team dinner out for work where we pre-ordered our meals. Some of our group were fashionably late (40min!) but the staff dealt with this perfectly and were happy to wait until they arrived to begin the meals.
We have been to this place plenty of times. The place is well maintained. Ambience is nice. The dosas and chutneys are good. Have found the Biryani and Kadala curry to be a little too spicy. Our favourites are the tea time snacks. Whenever we are around Al Khan we invariably go for tea here. Love their tea, parippu vada ( Lentil Vadas) and banana fry.
Consistent quality and not cheap price . But good ambience and service if you do not mind the cost. A completely different dining experience thats full of surprises. They serve great food that pleases not only your taste buds but also your eyes.
Went here for some South Indian breakfast. Ordered ghee roast and poori masala. Everything was good but it wasn't hot. The food was almost room temperature. Kesari was good. A nice place and staff is quick.
Been here for first time . A nice place to have typical South Indian food , we ordered foot long masala dosa , chilly paroota n uttapam . The food is good proportions size n value for money .
A good place to visit when you're in the mood for some good South Indian food. Some dishes to try are the South Indian thaali, Rava Onion Masala dosa, Gobi 65 and the Vada-Sambhar.
I'm particularly a fan of the Kesari that they serve as a part of the Thaali, really smooth and sweet.
Been here 4-5 times. The place is spacious and you can get a table even on weekends. The food is good, portion sizes are great and the place is not smelly or noisy like many other vegetarian restaurants in the city. The service can be a bit slow on weekends though.
Edit: Tried their chocolate milkshake last week. They serve it with a scoop of ice cream! Yummers!
Enjoyed SBS special Thali today.... It was good and environment was very hygienic...
Liked the mango drink and sweet...
It's worth a visit...
While the menu option is quite varied, we usually order only South-Indian Tiffin items home or go there for their lunch/dinner options which are very good. The fmeals are standard South-Indian and you can enjoy lots of side dishes in an ambience similar to restaurants in Chennai (background movie songs light music)
I reside in Al Khan and this restaurant is the best vegetarian option in an area without many Indian joints.
Must say the food is great👌I have tried most of their dishes and it's excellent. My favorite is the mushroom biryani !!! The service is also good. Should try this restaurant out . Worth the cash! Excellent Food taste😎
We usually go here for breakfast. Their food is really good although a bit pricey compared to other South Indian shops. We have tried their home delivery but it takes quite a long time for the food to arrive. They do have a wide range of sweets that are really good.
(1) Mini Tiffin - This is a complete south indian breakfast that consists of mini madala dosa, mini idlis, pongal, upma, vada, kesari (sweet) and coffee
Dhs.17
(2) Idli - Two pieces of idli with a variety of chutneys that are fresh and delicious and sambar. Wish the portion size was bigger.
Dhs.6.50
(3) Plain Dosa - A large crispy dosa with 3 varieties of chutney and sambar.
Dhs.7.50
A quiet place located in the residential area of Al Khan. The ambience makes you feel as if you are in some restaurant in Tamil Nadu with Tamil songs playing in the background. During weekends also the restaurant is not too crowded with almost no waiting time. We always order the south indian dishes - different type of dosas or idli or vada. Their service is quick and friendly. I personally love their filter coffee.
A nice place to have good veg food when your tired of lot of non veg,(which rarely happens ) I enjoyed the lunch thali, which conveniently was enough for me and my husband. Good quantity for the price we paid.
Will surely be a regular customer for some delicious veggies:)
The goto restaurant for South indian food in Sharjah! We've been visiting this restaurant for months. The food and service is so good. The best part is the consistency of taste. Never disappoints... Must try vada, coffee, idiyappam and sweets!!! Oh the kesari :) Balaji Vindlacheruvu Subramanian
The better place to have a true South Indian sambhar and rasam. Delicious with right touch of spice. Dosa and vada is nothing exceptional. But the sambhar surely adds that extra yumminess to all the meals. And the Onam sadya was really good. Priced reasonably
In a night craving for some good indian food, we reached here to feast ourselves and we were completely satisfied customers. A neat and tidy interiors with lots of seating capacity, we were attended to very quickly by friendly staff members.
We decided to have Drumsticks soup and Cauliflower 65 as starters and for the main course, we had Butter Naan, Aloo Paratha, Tomato Onion Uthappam and Mushroom Kadai.
Kadai Mushroom was finger-licking good! We were left complimenting and discussing it, even long after our dinner. It was just right- the spices, the creamy sauce and the mushrooms on-point. Garlic Butter Naan and Aloo Paratha beautifully complimented the Curry. Butter Naan was soft and cooked right. It was the best combination with the kadai mushroom. Aloo Paratha as itself was an all-rounding dish for me - it was cooked right and tasted even better with every inch of freshness from the fillings retained with the paratha adding the needed wholesome fit. The soup was a surprise, it tasted really good, it had the drumsticks essence but was also a creamy thick soup - a perfect start. The Gobi 65 was crunchy and chewy - a perfect balance with the right touch of spices. The uthappam did not add anything to the plate but was satisfactory, it was done well and the chutneys were an added spicy combo.
Firstly, do not make the mistake of thinking that Sarvanaa Bhojan Shala is part of the Sarvanaa Bhavan chain of South Indian Restaurants.
Having this branch literally in my backyard is a big plus point in terms of location and convenience! ;) The food too, is a delight for all those individuals who are well versed with the South Indian flavors.
We often come here to dig into the South Indian Thaali's which is also known as Saapaad (in Tamil). Authentic flavors are all present amongst the wide range of curries and Sambhars and Dals.
Customers are also given a choice or rice or puri or both! The staple South Indian food is delicious which includes the Dosa as well as Uttapams. The Idli however is often dry and best be avoided.
Complimentary Chaas is provided which truly is refreshing in this heat and will actually make you ask for more! With 4 branches of Sarvanaa Bhojan Shala already running, you may confidently assume that they will continue to grow, and we sure hope they do!
Amazing South Indian food while you enjoy some South Indian music. This is a simple veg restaurant and has been existing from a long time in Dubai. The shj branch is fairly new. I visit this place for their sumptuous breakfast, the mini tiffin. I don't think anyone makes it like they do. The small soft idlis with sambar and 3 varieties of chutney, dosa, wada, pongal, the kesar halwa and the filter coffee. Yum must have :)
The perfect south indian food. Feels like we are having at home. Any kind of breakfast is available through out its timings. And Gulab Jamoon is awesome!
if you are veggie and relish south indian food, this is the right place in Sharjah. Their thali is like home made food and doesn't harm your stomach. Their vadas and snacks are must try. Mirthanya soup is something i really enjoyed in Saravanaa Bhojan Shala. Good ambience, friendly staff and value for money. One concern is parking near to the restaurant.
if some one would like to enjoy south indian food in a reasonable prices then this is the place. All kind of food are served and they are tasty too. Since a lot of foot fall in this restaurant therefore the food is fresh. Veg thali is a good option to chose from wide range they offer.
This place has an edge over AlQusais as far as
1. Taste
2. Ambience
3. Service
are concerned.
Parking is a bit of problem.
South indian breakfasts are something a lot of us look forward to not just because they taste great but are also relatively healthy. SBS scores quite well on the former but does not struggle a bit with the ghee quotient, especially in their pongal (upma style mashed rice). Their juice menu loaded with healthy cocktails does show a clear intention in that direction but this could really be a game changer.
I went for the mini tiffin combo which was great except for the above.
Somehow their policy of asking customers of choosing a vada or filter coffee in the mix doesn't feel right. Put it in and load the price bud.
Otherwise the service and the place was overall competent.
Neat place. Food appears hygienic, well prepared and well presented too. Chutneys could be tastier than it is now. The portions are satisfying and so is the temperature while the food ( e.g. Idli) served.
The sweet/ savoury stalls is aptly so that one can make their mind on what to pick in their way back (at least works with us all the time ;) )
Really good stuff. Loved everything we orderd. Idly, puri , parata, wada , ghee roast masala nd the kids wanted a choclate milk shake which was good. seating capacity is decent as well.
Good breakfast outlet for quick grab..not the best but neat and clean and good service.
Lunch and dinner wud never venture as not keen on that food. .but yes when ever feel for light food one can hop in for dosa and idly..
Good restaurant to try South Indian dosa and idli stuff. It is very close to Petrofac office dropped in there to have late lunch once after my meeting. Had ghee masala dosa and have to say it was awesome. Also noteworthy their filter coffee. Try it out
This is the best Vegetarian restaurant in town for sure. Nothing can beat the meals morning idli/dosa items there and the afternoon meals ..Mann you must try it. Veggies .. Ur perfect place for some Godly food ;) im Strictly Non-Veggie :p but this food here makes me wanna be Veggie.
A shout out to the management. Had a chat with the manger the other day and his words drove me insane. He said he takes extra care and shells out extra money on cleanliness and more hygiene in the kitchen.
All together I loved every aspect of it. The ambience, service , management and dfntly most of the al the FOOD..
Excellent service and quality standards. Menu is great offering large selection. I'm not a big fan of South Indian food but their quality made me fan of Dosas and South Indian curries. Wheat paratha my favourite with one of the best tea in town. Value for money is outstanding.
Nice place for breakfast. Their mini tiffin with small amounts of all traditional south indian items is simply superb. I used to like the healthy juices which now is not so healthy as they have started using sugar to make it tasty. Nonetheless i will visit this place atleast once a week for their mini tiffin.
Another food joint which probably started with only intention of feeding some hungry with good tasty food without concentrating on ambience, space or seating arrangements. If you want to eat just some good food and can ignore the noise go for it. We enjoyed what we ordered and was pocket friendly. Both north Indian and South Indian items were equally tasty. Service was good and accommodating to our needs. Getting into this place might be challenging even though it's in the main road.

Perfect place for dining. Economical prices and very tasty food. Only they need to provide a bit fast service. It gets delayed and one who is hungry will lose patience
