We had confirmed with the server about how the quantity of food will be as we had guests at home and were reassured that their quantity is really good enough for 2 people. This was not the case. the quantity was not enough for a regular person as well. We ordered chicken and mutton biryani along with Fish Biryani. We also had ordered White Rice Pulao. We had also mentioned if we could get boneless for which they said that they serve with bones only. We understand and this is OK. No problem. The mutton pieces which they served was chewy and hard. It was not tender at all. The server had promoted their biryani so much that we had our hopes high. He had mentioned that their qunatity and quality both is something that we wouldnt have seen anywhere else. (WHICH IS KIND OF TRUE. THEIR QUALITY WAS NOT GREAT AND THE QUANTITY IS VERY LESS..COMPARED TO OTHER RESTAURTANTS) The rice quantity was so less and had a big piece of potato (an actual whole potato) which took up the entire space of the biryani container. This was embarassing in front of our guests. We do NOT recommend this outlet.

Yesterday ordered theBengali style yellow pullao and mutton rezala. <br/><br/>I must say was so disappointed with the food. This is a nice little Kolkata Bengali Restaurant.<br/><br/>We ordered a Chicken Biryani, Egg Chicken Cheese Roll, Prawn Masala, Lime Soda, Masala Coke and Mishti Doi.<br/><br/>Service was good. We had a cheerful waiter who constantly took care of us.<br/><br/>Food was pretty decent especially the Kolkata Chicken Biryani (only the rice, chicken was a bit bland), Aloo Bharta (spicy, just the way we like it), and Mishti Doi (the best I've eaten in the UAE) which was wholesome and sweet.<br/><br/>The Roll was average.<br/><br/>The cherry on the cake though was the Bhetki Fry. Although it was just a single small piece, it was fried to perfection, seasoned with the right amount of salt and the fried onions on top were splendid.<br/><br/>Negatives would only include that we had to wait for a while for the fish to be served. The rest of the food tasted nice and came on time.<br/><br/>As well as the fact that the Prawn Masala was just two prawns on skewers with thick gravy for 28 AED. Honestly not worth it at all and was a big disappointment.<br/><br/>All in all, my advice would be to go have the Bhetki Fish Fry, Masala Coke and Mishti Doi.<br/><br/>Overall Rating : 3.5/5

This is a lovely small restaurant in a good area of Sharjah. 7 yrs old restaurant and the new name change justifies the focus on bengali cuisine, though they serve excellent north indian food too.<br/>The interior is small and they have around 6-7 tables with comfortable seatings with sofa and chairs. A yellowish theme is seen in the interiors, gives a feeling of a decorated house.<br/>Our selections were-<br/>1. Dimer devil. 4.5/5. Soft boiled egg. Excellent coat of potato based mash. And superb crunchy exterior. At 4 dhs a piece , they were great.<br/>2. Veg pulao. 4.5/5. Not overtly sweet, just a touch of it. Good for 2 small eaters like us. Otherwise take one each. Soft fried veg and some nuts and dry fruits were inside. Good taste. At 12 dhs. Well done.<br/>3. Aloo fulkopi kosha. 4/5. 12 dhs. Good plating. Quantity is good for one. Very very well made. Ordered butter chicken. Delivery was done by Zomato valet so it arrived on time. Butter chicken was good and portion was just enough for 2 people.

Asked for non-spicy option for rolls (listed on menu), owing to sensitivity - they came with green chillies embedded! Very dangerous - caused a lot of discomfort.

Was feeling homesick, and visited this place. Honestly wasn't expecting much, as i thought that this place would be just a normal restaurant. However as soon as i entered the place, i was hit with nostalgic feelings. We ordered fish fingers for appetizers, which were really delicious, but the main show stealer was not the fish fingers or the dessert. It was the Kolkata Biryani with the side of Chaap. This biryani just brought out so many nostalgic feelings which made us want to eat and cry. The second best thing over here was the Chicken tikka roll, amazng paratha with succulent chicken. Getting to main topic, the misti doi is too pricey, the masala coco cola was alright, and the mutton kosha was also not upto par.

Fantastic food, very authentic and delicious Indian food. Everytime there is a new combination in veg and non-veg thali. Moreover they offer special dishes as per your choice. Very nice attendance, very good ambiance. New experience every time you be there. Highly recommended.

If u are a calcuttan like me and crave sometimes for authentic bengali cuisine without any sort of 'twist' , this is "THE" place for you! Go ahead and try fish fry, mughlai, biryani(calcutta style) and kosha mangsho(mutton in bengali style). The place is not that big but cozy. Be prepared to have nostalgia burst in your mouth with the bengali cuisine here!

I ordered thali on friday. really DISAPPOINTED.!!! I was expecting good bengali dishes..but it was not even average. dont spoil bengali cuisine..

We ordered about 6 kolkata mutton biryani nd equal plates of fish fingers from Palm Grove for Diwali party at home...the food was very good in terms of taste and quality..quantity was enough for 8 people.. They delivered in time. Staff was cordial.Hope to give more party orders in future. Thanx PalmGrove for the touch of Kolkata this Diwali.

We ordered the bijoya dasami special thali yesterday but was quite disappointed by the behaviour and the quality of food served.Received a very harsh reply on requesting to change the mutton with chicken in the thali - "strict order from boss for no changes in thali". We compromised and ordered as is. However prawns were half cooked , ilish paturi didnot have fish bones or kanta removed and none of the items except muri ghonto had salt in it. To top it all a bengali cuisine with 5 fries ( 5 rokom bhaja) served without daal in the menu. I guess one can't drink cocktails with potol bhaja - can you?? Over all not worth the price and no regards for regular customers or willingness to serve customers better.

Today on the festive occasion of “Bijoya Doshomi” we experienced the most worthless so called “Bengali Cuisine” at this restaurant. Foods were so disgusting that no one will ever dare to visit this place. Mostly foods were not properly cooked without salt even fish. The restaurant doesn’t even know what items should be kept in a standard bengali cuisine. Please do not visit this resturant again as you will feel shame for being a “ Kolkata Bengali”.

This was a place we as a family used to love. But my visit to this place was disappointing.<br/>I reached at 1:00 in the afternoon and I was told biryani is not ready. Ordered Chicken Kosha and naan that was served after 45mins. They were however was very prompt un giving the bill even before they served the food.<br/><br/>The cleanliness has also deteriorated. The non veg menu had a dead cockoroach also a few running around.

Too much salty in both mutton & chicken kosha items which spoiled the taste of the meat

Had kolkata style biriyani for the first time in Dubai. It was lovely. The quantity was perfect rather a bit more for 1 person. The mutton pieces are succulent. Its a must try for all kolkatans staying in UAE and craving for kolkata biryani....the only drawback is the rice....they are using govindo bhog instead of basmati

By far the best biryani ever ❤️ it makes travelling from Dubai to Sharjah worth it !! Though far off and on the interior sides of Sharjah this place is a hidden gem 😍 especially for Kolkata expats. The biryani is amazing...and the alu dum is fabulous .. the fish chop is yum and the so is the mughlai paratha!! All in all super thumbs up ...to the food...the staff and the cosy restaurant ... Added to that it's pocket friendly too 😋

Good taste ... but with WIN50 code 50% off was written for the first order ... it provided only AED30 off for the entire order ...

The taste of food is good but they use frozen thawed chicken which tastes bland and tears like plastic....my appeal to management please use fresh chicken to prepare your bengali dishes. It will make a big difference

I don't know about their other dishes, but Palm Grove Biriyani is absolutely the worst. Being a South Indian, I would consider plain chappathi's to be brimming with flavour compared to their chicken biriyani with frozen chicken and plain basmathi rice.

We are Tamils who lived in kolkata for 4 years. Initially we couldn't accept kolkata's biriyani as it tasted different. But as time passed our palates began to love this taste to the extent of not liking any other biriyani. After moving to UAE, we came to know about Palmgrove thru some kolkata friends. We ordered their mutton biriyani and we were transported to our kolkata days. The taste of the kolkata biriyani was excellent. Every time we think of Kolkata we think of Palmgrove. We normally order take away and each time the biriyanis were great. Love the kolkata biriyani here. Parking is a challenge. They also have a good loyalty program.

My friend got to know there was a biryani offer during Ramadan just for 7 dirhams. We decided to try it out. I was not aware of this restaurant. We entered and the restaurant has a Kolkata vibe in it. It plays variety of Bengali songs which are calm.<br/><br/>We ordered 3 biryani which consisted of Mutton and Chicken. Both the Chicken and Mutton biryani was well cooked having proper masala in it. The meat was tender and juicy. Also we got salad and lemon juice (only made during Ramadan) which was refreshing and the waiter politely refilled it for us free.<br/><br/>Their menu has all the different variety of food from BBQs to curries and Bengali dishes, would try them out soon sometime.<br/><br/>Recommended.

Well last year I visited this restaurant for a good bengali lunch but it couldn’t impress me with its taste. But again recently I decided to try it out, I must say its taste got better and you actually get the touch of kolkata in its food. Recently I ordered chicken rezala, chicken biryani kolkata style, fish fry and mishti doi it tasted really good but the drawback is they take time to prepare so its better to order early and they have a good delivery service. <br/>Recommended <br/>sorry for not taking pictures was too hungry 😋

I have known this place for a while majorly due to its expertise in authentic kolkata biriyani however never realized they can be so careless, pathetic when it comes to other bengali delicacies. today i visited their place to buy some fish dishes and have spent AED100 plus. to the best of my surprise both the fish dishes were awful, super spicy and I had to search for the fish in the curry. the dal was uncooked and tasteless..my only suggestion if you don't have staff to deliver the expected quality then don't cook it..if you are taxing AED 20plus for each fish piece then make sure it's of considerable size..all over sad experience.. pls concentrate on your quality or else you will be lost in the queue..

We had ordered chicken dum biryani and chicken chaap..if you are a fan of kolkata biryani which is totally safron flavoured and comes with its own quitessential potato and egg...this is the place to go for..the chaap was also very tasty ...the food came at the guaranteed time...definitely a good deal.

The food reminds me so much of Kolkata, a place I am a die hard fan of!<br/>Couldn’t order the Bengali pre order stuff but the food didn’t disappoint nonetheless!<br/>Service was great! Ordered the biryani and the Bengali thali! Great taste! Would come back again surely to have the Bengali pre ordered food!

The Pabda I had was terrible, the quality of the fish and the the basic gravy taste, very poor, u get better in sharjah itself. the chicken roll which i hope to try is worth it.

Value for money spent. A great birthday treat came in from Palm Grove which had Authentic Bengali Food. <br/><br/>You can take Bong away from Bengal but not the Bengal away from the Bong. As this term goes, I felt the Foodic connection between the food and me. It was amazing especially the Shorshe Ilish and Shorshe Rui. Pulao just made me feel like I am back to my home town and eating food prepared by Mom. <br/><br/>Finally the luchi and Begun Baja & Alloor Dam - too crazy to comment. <br/><br/>The quantity and quality both were value for money. Would love to visit their branch and see the ambience. <br/><br/>One suggestion - PLEASE open one more branch in Ajman.

WOW.. I read somewhere that, that was the motto or tag line for them.. Oh my, they definitely live by it.. From the minute of entering into this place (Hope i got the name right..) to being offered a table by her in a corner where my kids could be kids... It was fabulous..

They have such a warm and inviting atmosphere with fabulous staff who are knowledgeable about the delicious food. It's a great place to unwind after work, catch a meal before a stadium event, or for a special occassion.

Had ordered Mutton Biryani and Mutton Roll. The Biryani was really great but the roll left a lot to be desired. The Biryani was of a generous portion with 4 medium pcs of mutton, 1 egg and 1 aloo. the mutton was soft, succulent and flavorful. for AED 16, it was absolute worth it. However the mutton roll was complete disappointment. it was nothing like the Kolkata roll. The paratha was thin and hard, not the laccha. mutton pcs inside were in sufficient quantity and soft but the sauce that was used was more like a BBQ sauce than the traditional Kolkata roll. <br/><br/>Delivery was on time and the food was warm.

We had a beautiful extended family meal on a busy Saturday night. Despite a full restaurant we experienced amazing service from very friendly staff. We were impressed.

The food is excellent and the staff are great. The restaurant is pretty clean. The only problem is that the parking options are less. We had Chicken Kosha (very good), Chicken Biryani (Excellent), Luchi(Good), Mistidhoi(Sweet and very good) and Sweet Lime Soda(Nice) Overall experience was epic. @Jeana Thomas

Last week I visited Palm Grove Kolakata, Sharjah with my friends for my birthday treat & we ordered Bengali special Thali. This Thali was just Super awesome delicious, Nice Music, Awesome supporting quick service, With a minimum rate. Ordered Mughal Mutton Biryani served with Masala raita, Salad and Pappad. Biryani tastes well and mutton was well cooked. The aroma of the Biryani was nice. Delivery time also good. Finally Packing was awesome.

Very bad food. Didnt enjoy it. Ordered biryani. They almost fried the rice. The chicken in the biryani was not cooked properly. Sorry please improve your food and service.

A saviour in times of need; thats how this restaurant was for us today. When most of them were closed, this was open & delivered soon as well. The food was tasty. The veg.biriyani might look spicy, but it wasnt. The food was defintely worth the money.<br/><br/>Veg.biriyani costs - 10 aed; chicken mughalai biriyani costs - 11aed. Avg. price for 2 - 25 aed.

2nd review<br/>I am quite a regular visitor to this place , located in abu shagara , parking is hard to find , but you have the pathan paid parking next door . Only 6 tables with limited seating , they mostly thrive on home deliveries in sharjah. Visited again on bijoya dashami to have their Thala spread. Disappointing service today with hordes of pending orders, they didnt take my order upto 10 minutes , even had to argue for extra serving of rice after paying 55 dhs.<br/>Talking about the thala .. potol bhaja , kakrol bhaja was fresh , luchi and chicken pakora was very very cold. Doi potol and shukhto were nicely done , the banana leaf wrapped hilsa fish was very good. Holud pulav and kochi pathar jhol was delicious. The price to the thala was the amazingly sized Tiger prawns , golda malai chingri , very succulently tasty , had to fight with its shell and legs , but delicious to the core. I drooled on the mango chutney and rosogolla .Aam pora sherbet was a bit bland. They forgot to serve papad and muri ghonto, but i was very full and hence just complained. Todays mishti doi and again the service was a let down. All dishes were made to perfection and has a home made touch to them , the hilsa fish was great and mutton kosha were the best, soft fresh and well done. Mishti doi is authentic. After having this treat of a thali very difficult to walk 😃 If you love Bengali food this is a must visit place and this is more of Kolkata style restaurant and not Bangladeshi which is good since not many indian Bengali restaurants available in town.They haven't started selling the world famous Bengali sweets , but are planning to do so. But mind you , no parking so u have to park in the pathan parking which charge 5 dhs an hour. Home delivery available in Sharjah, but in dubai for a minimum order of 100 or 150 only they do deliver.

Fantastic experience. Had gone with friends/family over the weekend. Had opted for the Bengali Thali. The welcome drink (Lime water) was super. The food (variety / no. of items / quality) was awesome. Very Cosy ambience. Really enjoyed the hospitality of Mr. Sourish & Mr. Pritam. Will surely visit again, sometime soon. Cheers!

Yesterday 07/05/2017 we went yo have Kolkata biryani and Kolkata Chinese dishes after confirming over the phone at around 9 p.m. We reached there within 15 mins. After reaching we came to know it will take 1 hour to make Kolkata Biryani and only few items of Kolkata Chinese is available and the behaviour of the only service boy and in-charge as well was pathetic. Had tried take away before and the food was good. So thought dining in on Friday. The place is very small with just 4-5 tables. It is a neat place. Ordered Chicken Handi and Paneer Tikka Masala. Both the gravies looked and tasted the same. The butter nan was also hard. Overall the taste was ok ok.

visited palm grove to dig into saturday maha thali and it was absolutely worth it. bengalis do try out their mouthwatering park street biriyani, kathi roll and all the fish items. always delighted with their food varieties and even the staff are friendly. keep up the good work and coming from silicon oasis dubai is always a worth.

This restaurant serves you some decent bengali cuisine...They have special thali served on weekends, the quantity is so much that is stomach filling and mouth filling as well..Should b tried!!

This place really made me wish for a couple of more hands to swat away the flies. There were a bit too many for comfort. Food isn't as authentic as it can get for a bengali joint. But yes it's nearly up there in terms of taste. We had the mutton and felt that it required probably half an hour more of cooking. The potential definitely is there to shine considering that there are a few authentic bengali joints around. I intend to order in the next time and give it another chance.

Wow! Authentic Bengali food. In True, Blue, Bong style,had delicious Lunch Thali with fish curry. To add...Classic Bengali songs transported me back to Kolkata. Will definitely recommend and come back for more.

Feb2020<br/>Ordered Chicken and mutton rezala last week. So I had to update my review. In fact tried calling them too after having the food to give my worst feedback but nobody answered the call. It just 4 pm so they were closed may be! <br/>The worst Chicken Rezala and Mutton Rezala ever eaten that day. Felt I literally dumped by 60 dhs in drain. Quality of food has come down and prices have gone up at Kolkata kitchen. It is an excellent place for bong food.. Their friday bong thali for 25 bugs is mind blowing.. Filled with small portions of many items which keeps changing every week makes you really look forward to it. We have had many such thalis over lazy weekends and enjoyed bong sukto, chicken er jhol, doi eelish and what not.. Today we ordered Aaloo potol, chicken daak banglow, white rice and chapathis.All of their dishes very were well done with pure flavour of Bengal.. Loved it..Their fish items and other veg stuff also are worth giving a try for.. yum yum bong food..

I used to order food from here earlier , but then due to poor delivery service - had stopped ordering food . <br/>However thought of trying this place after ages again to see if things are in place - but never mind :- it's the same . The food that was supposed to be delivered at 2:00 PM comes at 3:30 PM with dishes that is serves cold . Definitely not worth to try it out anymore.. no matter how good the food may be ; when basic services lack - you don't want to try back on the same place again .
