Ordered string hopper kottu rotti. It was nice but very spicy. Eventhough I mentioned not to make it spicy... the resturent said , the comment didnt come out of thire order. So make sure you call the resturent and confirm your comments
I had ordered devil prawns and was finger lickin good...had to wait for it than the estimated time of delivery..still worth waiting....cheers
We have always been big fans of Chef Lanka but somewhere in between the years the taste and quality of the food changed - and we had stopped.
Recently after reading these reviews on Zomato and a friend telling us that the food has returned back to it’s original taste - I went ahead and brought my regulars ... Devilled Beef, Nasi gorang, chicken Manchurian, Kotu Roti and WOW Finally- Chef Lanka returns back to it original glory ....
For those who say that it takes time when you order, well if you want quality food cooked well - think the time should not matter - the food was Awesome and please Chef Lanka maintain the same taste and quality even if it means the time to prepare takes a while - I was happy to wait for 30 minutes to collect my order.
Since i am not big on experimenting cuisines and also picky eater at that. I ordered chicken burgers, and they turned out to be the yummiest ones I have ever had around this are.👍
Chef Lanka prepared the best king fish curry. It was infused with mouth watering flavours. Absolutely loved it!!! It a must try. Excited to try other dishes.
The food Quality is Superb. But the Price is High Comapred to Other Sri Lankan Resturants In SHJ.
Dubai menu Price's are ok as Dubai Rent is higher compared to SHJ.

Amazing homecooked food. We had the rice and curry lunch meal, which was accompanied by mango curry (sweet and tangy), spicy cabbage, chicken curry which was a brown curry very delicious though it was spicy. For sweet we had the srilankan sweet made of jaggery and milk and the entire lunch was simply yumm. I would love to visit them for yum simple home food.
Some places leave you.. licking your fingers and clicking your tongue. This is one of them.

Visited Sharjahfor my daughter’s birthday, went here for tea, nice food, fun atmosphere and very friendly staff. That's what u want when u go out. Hope your restaurant does well in the future.
Big fan of lump rice and hopper. Not been to the place just ordered food. Lump rice was average not as good as chef lanka in karama. But I really liked their chicken noodle... thin noodle strands with lots of veggies like Indian Style. Nasi gorang was also good.
Hope they will improve on lump rice( rice was over cocked )
Being a Sri Lankan I love traditional Sri Lankan food, and today's lunch was good.
The traditional rice and curry with fish tasted just like it's home made. Enjoyed every bit of it. Just perfect.
I also got fish rolls which also tasted great.
They don't deliver through Zomato to Al Majaz 3, so I had to call instead. Didn't have any issues with delivery.
I used to order from here often but the quality dropped so I stopped getting food from Al Nahda branch. Thankfully I tried again. Really hope they maintain the quality.
I liked their food which has an authentic sri lankan touch. Specially , rice and curry, appa, fried rice, and snacks are good. Nice and clean place for dine in if yiu want to experience nice sri lankan food.
My favorite Sri Lankan joint when it comes to authentic food. Although finding parking in this area is like a nightmare I still come back every time for the great service. The ambiance of this place is not great but it does remind me of some local restaurants I visited in Sri Lanka, some paintings and decor are good to look at while you wait for your food. I always order their string hoppers or even hoppers with their chicken, mutton or prawn srilankan curry. They are best things you can have here. Forget your spoons and fork and just dig in. They give you a dry coconut chutney really spicy and dal with this. Have a chilled Mountain Dew with this for best feeling :) it is mouthwatering. I cannot wait to visit them again to enjoy these delicious. Minus mark only for no parking. Amazing food amazing staff. Yummy
We ordered their chicken fried rice for dinner. The order did take time to reach my place. The chicken fried rice was spicy, non-oily with soft well cooked chicken pieces.

I had tasted their crab curry at a friends house in Dubai. Was happy they have a branch in Sharjah and ordered the crab curry.
My house is a bit far from their outlet. I have had some restaurants in Al Nahda who are not interested in delivering just across the road In Al Tawoon. They were an exception. The food arrived piping hot and in decent time.
The crab curry was a generous portion with a lot of small crabs in it. Although I would have preferred fewer crabs but with more meat on it, these were flavorful.
Crab meat is one of the best among all shellfish and for me it rates higher than lobsters or jumbo prawns. The succulent and sweet flesh is delicious. Contrast that with the spicy curry and some rice and I was in heaven.
Sadly it is a meat that is tough to enjoy with finesse in a restaurant environment. It is a perverse pleasure and needs the privacy of home to crack the shells and claws and suck out the last morsel the meat and last drop of the juice.
My only gripe, about 12 AED for a portion of plain rice is a bit of a ripoff. A must have crab curry place and will try out other things in future.
Wonderful food.specially rice and curry and yellow rice. Its just like home food and everyday with a matching menu. My wife really enjoys your rice and curry as she is pregnant she prefers to eat your lunch especially coz of kola mallum. We have been only to karama restaurant but al nadha people use to deliver us most of the days. Keep it up. good work.
This is place has the best Nasi Goreng!! A must try for all Nasi Goreng and fried rice fans. Perfectly spiced, juicy prawns , fresh veggies and the fried egg topping completes the whole dish. We mostly call for home delivery, the staffs are courteous and the delivery are done on time.

Best place to be in Sharjah if you are intersrested in Sri Lankan Food Special Yellow Rice and Lamprice serverd on Fridays are always a hit. Apart from that Kotthu,Roti, Godamba Roti, Appam, Indi Appam,, Devilled Chicken should not go unnoticed. If you are lucky get some really nice Wood apple Drink after a meal.

Food is generally good. String hoppers with sambol and curry is really good. Fried rice is good. Short eats are decent. Watalappan is awesome.

If you want a truly authentic taste of Sri Lankan cuisine then Chef Lanka is the place to go. The chefs in there really know how to churn out Sri Lankan classics just like mom use to make at home. The staff are very friendly and speak English well. They know what they are serving and can give you really good advice on what to order or which items compliment each other. Great food, friendly staff, affordable prices. And a wonderful experience. A word of caution, if you can't handle the spice, then you better tell them to cut down on the heat.
Don't judge a book by it's cover. Don't judge a restaurant by it's facade. Chef Lanka is an amazing surprise for those looking for food bustling with enthusiasm. We ordered the beef curry, Devilled Prawns and vegetable mix (Curd Ocra, Spicy Mushrooms, Roasted & Shredded Cabbage). Added that with portions of broken rice.
Trust me, our table looked like a palate of flavours. And our plates were blank canvases for each of us to fill. Uff! Enough poetry. In the end, all the food was great to taste. And it cost us only 64 AED (for 4 people) with a little leftover.
The only problem is the slight gap in communication, since the waiters aren't very savvy with foreign languages. Nonetheless, it was an amazing experience and I urge everyone who loves spice, fish, and everything nice.
