Gonu is located right next to the beach at the Meridian in Al Aqah.
The decor is quite basic but suits the location. Like a large open beach hut.
We ate 3 times here during our stay.
The fish cakes were delicious! Light and crispy with a lovely flavour. The fish and chips were great but could be improved with better chips. Not fries. My favourite dish was the fillet of Mahi Mahi. My husband had the burger on the last day and said it was one of the worst he has had, which was a shame. It was massive and looked impressive, the quality of the beef seemed low and lacked flavour overall.
The staff are so lovely and friendly. Unusual for the UAE, but had character making jokes and laughing.
I would recommend this restaurant. Just not the burger!

This place is awesome... ambiance of dining by the sea...watching the stars and hearing/watching the waves is amazing...food is very good (though the steak baguette was a little chewy), the presentation is excellent. Plus the F&B manager Prince Alex was fantastic in his hospitality and great service. It was our 20th wedding anniversary and he made all the effort to make our special night one to remember. Thank you

Fantastic - great surf and turf in a sea side setting. 20 meters from our table the Gulf of Oman was washing ashore while a excellent staff served us. I highly recommend the Surf and turf with Omani Lobster.
