Sicilia at Movenpick IBN Batuta is one of the best Italian restaurants in Dubai, very Italian taste, thanks to their brisk Italian Chef. Overall service was polite and the food experience unforgettable, particularly the octopus and pasta.
This place is very prestige place with standards. I really like the staff and the service. Fooda are very unique and teast such a delicious... i valued the place.
It is well organised peaceful place to have your meal of your satisfactory. When it comes to great Italian food they are on good condition. Kids will enjoy The meal. The steak was a bit overcooked but descent. They treated us with free starter, chocolate, and coloring books for kids to keep the calm.
Great food, great service, great ambiance!
Very elegant ambiance, you could say romantic. The pizzas were excellent! I had a great time. A very good wine and beer selection. I will rate it at 5 stars and I will definitely come again. Thank you!
The food is great and very generously portioned but the star here is the service the staff make you feel super welcome, take time to chat to you and have a laugh. Great at remembering you as well so make you feel really welcome!
Why doesn't this restaurant have an Instagram account?
That's how I find out about all the dinning options around Dubai...
Moving along..
We came here to taste the Chefs menu. Love Italian Food? Michilien star chefs? Then come on down here
We basically had everything on Chef Catarinas menu, they basically made every dish then split it in half for us.
The highlights for me were the wonder pumpkin and parmesan cappuccino, something you haven't had anywhere else in Dubai.
I also loved the beef cheeks, they are apparently cooked for over 40 hours, which makes them tender and extremely flavorful.
Nice place, good food, Rebecca and the chef are very lovely persons! They are Professional, polite and friendly. Topical Italia food with Italia ingridients !
Great Sicilian restaurant with mega good tiramisu and it is really a compliment from me as I am a specialist of “tiramisu” and of course , thanks for the kindness of Rebecca 👍👍
Great experience overall...The food is authentic italian with always different option to dine in
The business lunch is valueble for money with a big range of food option every day
The staff is friendly and polite...a special thank to Rebecca to be always welcoming and make us feeling home....
Went there yesterday Eve, the place is cosy and the food perfect, nice atmosphere! .We had mixed cuts, as starters together with some freshly baked bread and focaccia, and a glass of red wine, perfect combination suggested by the restaurant Manager Rebecca. As a main course I had pesto pasta and my friend sausage pasta, all I can say is here you can really find tasty authentic Italian food no mistakes there! Loved it!
Feeling at home @SiciliaRestaurant Mövenpick Ibn Battuta gate: delicious food by Chef Raffaele and nice conversation with the lovely manager Rebecca. You can taste the real Italian traditional dishes, starting with typical charcuterie platter and cheese (tagliere di salumi e formaggi), pasta al pesto, beef carpaccio...and, you cannot miss the dessert at the end (my favourite is the spice chocolate mousse). Definitely, we will come back soon

Super Italian restaurant in a very nice location. Food is very good and everything is 100% Italian. You have to try Pizza with Parma ham. Staff is very friendly and professional especially the restaurant manager Rebecca and Chef Raffaele.

Nice ambience, great welcome and excellent food.
Chef Raffaele knows his job and Rebecca is always there yet leaves guests their own privacy.
Definitely will come back in the next future.
One of my favourite restaurants in town. Great Italian food, warm and efficient service as well as a friendly atmosphere overall. Fully recommend.
I was recommended to have food in this Italian restaurant - being a foodie myself decided to go and have my iftar over there - inspire of the hotel having a lavish iftar buffet I decided to try the restaurant.
The ambience once you enter the restaurant gives you a very friendly and family atmosphere . I decided to take a table just in front of the kitchen as I am fan of cooking shows the sight is restaurant staff was very fascinating each dish that was coming out were well garnished and presented ... the menu had a lot of options... while going through the menu I was offered freshly made fritters with olive paste which was nice - I decided to go for the Carpaccio , goat cheese salad and pesto pasta with Burrata , hey do remember I am breaking my fast so a guy had to eat !!!!!
The Carpaccio with truffle the fist thing that hits you before it arrives to your table is the smell of truffle , there was a perfect balance of flavour with perfect amount of greens to go along with perfect amount of truffle shavings.
The goat cheese what can I say - sometimes pictures speak louder than words it was just amazing.
The pesto pasta with Burrata was very unique - the start with the pesto is not the regular pesto that we have in our regular Italian restaurant the flavour of the pesto was so so fresh and the Burrata was so light, to my surprise the pesto pasta also had small cubes of potato and beans in them, I had to call the chef to ask him what’s the uniqueness in his flavour - to start with the chef is an Italian the recipe and pesto is from his home town Genova even Burrata was not locally made they use imported Burrata from Italy-it was just amazing
Well after eating all this I felt I had some place left to order dessert I was planning on ordering the tiramisu that’s when I noticed chocolate mousse spicy intrigued by the name I ordered it just try something new definitely and plus how can chocolate be spicy it can with a raspberry sorbet - I took my first bite of it I could only taste the chocolate initially but once the chocolate had left the mouth I felt the spicy tingling my tongue bite after bite.
If you are looking for authentic Italian taste it’s a must try - good taste - friendly staff and most importantly the Food was just amazing.
I am regular guest in Sicilia and as Italian I find the food real authentic , the chef Raffaele .the restaurant manager Rebecca and all the other chefs are extremely professional, friendly and welcoming . I strongly recommend this restaurant if you want to eat really “Italian”!
Had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant in Movenpick. Lovely rustic ambience, taking you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You step in, leave the stresses of your day behind and immerse yourself in some truly great food. Great collection of cheeses, the caprese pizza was lip smacking and the buffalo mozzarella cheese had to be softest, most moist of all that ive tasted around. Finish that with a wonderful tiramisu with the an extremely light and fluffy mascarpone cheese with real espresso at the base of it ... one word .. yummy !The staff were really nice and friendly. Special thanks to the manager - Rebecca who really is taking this place from being another restaurant to ensuring everyone enjoys the real Sicily for the short time that they are there.
Thanks Rebecca and team, looking forward to our next dinner at Sicilia !
Lovely ambience and great service on this authentic italian restaurant....
The pizza was really nice with high quality ingredients and a nice cruncy crust!
The tuna tartare was a combination of different flavour fresh and vibrant...
To finish "in bellezza" super tasty and creamy Tiramisu authentic and with the right balance between coffee and cream...Amazing!
We will be back soon!!!
This is a home-away from home Italian restaurant with a classic touch of Sicilia; offering top-notch Italian cuisine with an elegant atmosphere. Located inside the Movenpick’s Ibn Battuta Hotel, this family-friendly rustic-restaurant makes it their duty to offer diners with the perfect meal for every craving. This is definitely not your average kind of Italian restaurant that offers pastas and pizzas, NOT at all. Instead, Sicilia offers true authentic flavors of Italy. The staffs here are friendly and buzzing with enthusiasm all throughout. 👏🏿
This restaurant is an hidden gem. The food was so delicious i couldn't believe it. We ordered 2 appetizers: bufala mozzarella and tomato salad and a tropea onions stuffed with goat cheese, pistacchio cream and caramelized pears. This last one triggered tears of joy. As main courses slow cooked beed with fried polenta and paccheri with fresh tomato sauce and stracciatella. The ingredients were so authentic that i forgot i was in dubai. The chef is italian and came to the table to chat with us, as u expect in every good Italian restaurant. The tiramisu ended the night perfectly. We walked back hom with a happy smile on our faces. Cannot wait to go again!
Had a great evening, meal was good, service was great, Michael suggested some lovely dishes we wouldn't have tried otherwise and we loved it!
Evening dinner with colleagues , being a vegetarian on that day , ordered Spaghettone Cauliflower Pasta while our friends ordered Fregola with Seafood .
The service was good and so was the food.
Will go back on my regular day !!
Wow! So my wife and I finally visited this restaurant after hearing about it from 3 different Italian friends of ours. We were skeptical; Ibn Battuta isn't generally thought of to be a location for great food, and we'd done the rounds at most Italian restaurants in Dubai and so figured we knew best. Holy C$%p were we wrong. Everything was brilliant, from the grilled octupos starter to the seafood linguini (how did the chef manage to extract so much flavour in the sauce?!) to the cheese and truffle gnocchi. Evything was near perfect. We're trying very hard not to go there everyday now.
Job well done to the Italian Chefs since Im food Italianlover. Seriously. Check it out.

Sicilia is what I would describe as a modern tavern with rustic charm. Dim lights, relaxed seating with wooden tables, wine bottles on the top of wooden barrels, all add to the ambiance. Luckily this invite was on a weekend so I was completely relaxed and calm which is exactly what is needed for Italian food. The restaurant is easy to find, located on ground floor right beside Chor Bazaar at Movenpick Hotel Ibn Batutta. The hotel lobby has 88 arabic lanterns, its a breathtaking view!
Read along to discover this fabulous and cosy tavern's vegetarian offerings. Also I have some excerpts from my chat with Sous Chef Marcello. I fail to understand why the ratings are so low for this place, Sicilia deserves much more popularity. Personally recommending this for away from city dinner date place.
I have to say, I know quite little about the Movenpick hotels. The fact that I only got to know one existed as Ibn Battuta Gate when an invite popped into my inbox, bears testament to it. Love where my foodie #adventures take me. This is the lobby of @movenpickhotelibnbattutagate Gorgeous isn't it? These lamps certainly don't need any #filter
The ambiance, perfectly timed service and a selection of complimentary cured meats set the mood perfectly as we entered. With imported food from Italy and plated by top chef, Sicilia didn't fail to deliver a sublime meal. For starters, I chose the delicate wagyu beef which was complimented by a soft herbed cheese and sharp pear, this was truly delightful! For main, the gnocchi teased my taste buds and left me wanting more. Sicilia was reasonably priced for the quality you're getting and the service by Casey and the staff was second to non. I highly recommend this restaurant, even if you're not staying at the IBN hotel.
Great place to got for jebel Ali office goers...for lunch ..the food always delights and the place isn't over the top for the pocket ..currently the truffle festival is on and dishes range from Aed75 to Aed150 ...a great steal .. festival is for dinner but the staff went out of the way to serve us the same for lunch ..enjoyed the tuna tartare for starter and the truffle gnocchi for mains...ended with nice chocolates
It's a small and cozy place which serves PORK. Since I love pork, tried the cold cut selection and the then the Wagyu beef carpaccio too. The milk fed veal chops are delicious and so is the tiramisu. I did expect more from the service but nevertheless it was a good experience.
This place has a very rustic ambiance.... It's is very nice warm place to have food with a glass of wine.... A good place for fine dinners.... Food here compliments the place very well.... Authentic Italian food made by chef... I relished the food to its best n the Chery on the cake r the deserts here
One of my two favorite pizza restaurant in town! Chef Stefano and vice chef Marcello are the best, Pizza is AMAZING! And the restaurant creations are unforgettable!
Being an Italian food fan... I was very excited to have food in Sicilia.... Believe it or not I had most amazing time here.... The food had the real Italian taste chef stepano n chef mercello made the amazing food ever.... We can come to know the meaning of the food by the first bit of the food... Had awesome time the cherry on cake was the desert ....
I had a business lunch at this place !
It was just perfect !! one of the best Italian places i have tried in a long time !
Though their menu has a lot of a European twist but you can see that the Italian ingenuity is obvious !
The presentation of the plates attracts you ! and makes you anxious to taste it !
Their menu satisfies everyone from meat to chicken to fish lovers !
Recommended !
Prices : Average to medium range ,
Limited choices on the menu, and hence you wont be confused what to order, if you get lost then ask the waiter for assistance. Rest assured the food is excellent food but the service very poor, although nice ambience and good to hang out with family and kids.

Upon arrival we realized the lights were way too dim, in fact we couldn't even read the menu properly. Nonetheless, the staff were kind enough to increase the brightness of the lights following our request.
The food was well prepared, well presented and quite satisfying taste wise. I tasted the veal ravioli and the seafood fregola, both of which were delicious. The portion of the veal ravioli was admittedly rather modest, although that dish appeared to be the exception. The only serving that I found slightly disappointing was the pizza we ordered; it was just average taste wise. I was also disappointed by their salad offerings, there were only 2 salads on the menu, both of which were completely vegetarian (as far as I can remember). For dessert, we tried the apple rentelle as per our server's recommendation and it was absolutely delightful!
The staff were friendly and accommodating; a pleasant evening overall!
A cute little place.
It's a Italian restaurant as you expect it.
You enter and hear the cheesy Italian music ;)
The treatment is very welcoming and personal.
A nice complimentary starter is offered, homemade bread with a nice dip.
I had a pizza, and so did the person with me here.
It was well made no doubt, better than most restaurants that I have been to. But there still is some slight room for improvement as the dough was not fully through in the middle, but really nothing to complain about.
If you want exceptional service ask for Khaled!
It's a nice place and if you are staying the hotel anyway you should defiantly visit.
I had a great time with my family here with good food and service. Such a great authentic Italian restaurant...The menu is large, The food is tasty no doubt, everything we had was very rich.
We went to Sicilia for a dinner for the first time with Italian friends, the evening was fantastic, the service is very good, something unusual in Dubai....The food is like to eat in Italy, amazing carpaccio di manzo and very good spaghetti vongole, the deserts were amazing, very good home made ice cream, apple, tiramisu. ...very very good.
I would like to remark the good service and the special attention that the manager Chris give to us......we will come back really soon
Went there for lunch with my family, had the tastiest soup ever - Chicpeas and Spinach...yummy yummy yummy. Then had seafood Linguini. Ended it with tiramisu. What a great lunch. The staff as always very attentive, courteous and always willing to go the extra mile. Every dish that leaves the kitchen had been given the once over by the Chef...who cares passionately about his food!
If you looking for good true Italian food, made by Italians that is authentic, scrumptious absolutely delicious and reasonably priced and then head to Sicilia, Movenpick Ibn Battuta.
This hotel has some of the best restaurants all under one roof and every meal is satisfying.
I had the pleasure of dining with a friend at Sicilia for the first time last Saturday, and it I have to say the food was by far one of the tastiest italian food i've had in a long time.
The place has a nice decor and ambiance. The food is amaazing! Service excellent.
We had a confit onion with goat cheese for starter (very yumm), a Ravioli Montasio with Winter truffle and Asparagus (I have to say this one was orgasmic, i can still taste it in my mouth), and ended with an Apple Renette (excellent).
The manager and waiters were more than welcoming and friendly. Actually we were having such a good time we were laughing really loud i thought they would kick us out, but they seemed to enjoy it :)
It was an overall wonderful experience and i cannot wait to eat there again.
Thank you
Ordered lamb rack rump medium cooked, it was unbelievably delicious! The meat was tender and juicy, perfectly spiced and cooked. Pink in the centre and it would melt in the mouth.
Also had some roast octopus which was equally delicious as the lamb dish.
Ordered a tiramisu moose cake, I must say, it was one of the best tiramisu moose cake I have ever had!
Very good experience and a must try place!
Been there few months back and still i can feel the taste

Believe it or not this was my first time at Ibn Batuta Gate Hotel, even though I practically live around the corner. I was kicking myself on why I hadnt visited this place before. Sicilia is sistuated inside the hotel, there's a Vespa scooter just outside to add to that Italian flair... I liked that alot...The maitre D was very polite and super helpful. We were greeted very enthusiastically , staff very friendly and warm.
We got served the freshest bread with crushed asperagus (If I remember correctly that was it). For mains I ordered the Al Fredo linguine style (This was not on the menu I had to request this, most of the pastas on the menu are tomato paste based and I was craving a creamy rich pasta) , my friend had the rack of lamb served with roast potatos and the Calzone Boscoiolo. I must say the food was worth the wait....and the wait was a tad long (please work on this :)) . The Alfredo was ahhhmazing. I was ooohing and ahhhing, I finished my whole plate..creamy but not the sickening creamy, just perfect.
My friend enjoyed his lamb, it was really delish had a sample, I didnt particularly enjoy the roast potatos, they were a bit hard. The Calzone was scrumptious. Overall the setting was amazing, felt like I was in one of those resturants that Liz describes in Eat Pray Love lol..Loved it ..Price wise it is a tad pricey but worth it..Our meal cost about 460 including drinks..Lovely experience Thank you
My pics are not all that great because my phone decided to act up on me ..I hope they are visable though :)
Great food, great service, I would highly recommend a visit!
