Have been to Mumtaaz Mahal quite a few times, their food is good, lot of options available in their menu. Also their customer service is great. Their main attraction is their live Ghazals. Very talented singers and dancers.
Cheers,

Very good restaurant excellent delicious food must visit place
Had enjoyed the food and ambiance of restaurant.
Teste was awesome and the theme of restaurant was nice.
I met one of Manager there he was very helpful and having well knowledge about Indian food .
Had dinner with my friends. Menu is very authentic. I Never tried authentic Indian cuisine in other restaurants here in Dubai 😊 Service was awesome and very accommodating. Will be back definitely!
recently i visited "mumtaz mahal", It was a wonderful experience.
the music, food, cocktail... very nice
the hospitality was super , special thnx to mr. Ishfaq and team
Hope to visit again ...
We found this Indian restaurant by chance while looking on TripAdvisor for tips. And how delighted we were to find it.
The restaurant is based in the Arabian courtyard Hotel directly opposite the dubai museum. The entrance to the restaurant is very cool decor and we were met by friendly staff..
The menu is more authentic than most Irish Indian menus so missing the some of the usual western food.. But be brave and order anything tandoori as its amazing.
We had chicken jalfrasi and lamb chop tandoori with peshawar nan. All beautiful. The lamb chops absolutely the best.
Lots of Indian restaurants in this area and I can recommend this highly.
A hidden gem, serving mouth watering food and drinks which only gets topped by the live music they play every day!!!
Highly recommended to anyone who likes to eat good or listen well.
Located in a busy lane of meena bazar, Mumtaz mahal is beautiful restaurant with very ethnic decor. Had been to this restaurant to celebrate an occasion.
We started off with Zafrani machli tikka and murgh malai tikka. Both were scrumptious. For mains we tried Machali amritsari masala and jhinga kali mirch.
Service was bit slow but food was very good.
It was my first visit to Mumtaz Mahal for my wife's B'Day ....I ordered Tandoori chicken 5*,Jingha kalimirchu 5* & Ghost Biryani 5* .
Great ambience, friendly staff Mr.Sandeep was our host at the hotel who was very friendly. Very nice music .
I must thank Mr.Mohammad Ishwal restaurant incharge who surprised us with a B'Day cake and songs .
We our grateful to the staff at Mumtaz Mahal who made the occasion
memorable .thanks for the nice . experience
We rarely venture into Bur Dubai these days, but the Mumtaz Mahal is one restaurant that keeps drawing us back. We probably eat here at least once a month. The service is excellent with friendly and efficient staff.
I wanted to visit this place for a while. Finally managed to go for late night dinner.
Ordered a starter. It was nicely prepared, and presented even better.
The ambience is wonderful and you want to continue to spend time there.
Next time i will have to try more dishes to share feedback on the taste.

Very good music show indeed, service is good too. Quality of food was also meeting our expectations, however food delivery time was too long, even after many reminders. This part need to be improved, waiting for 30 minutes after starter and waiting for 30-40 minutes for starter is really not acceptable at all.
This is my favorite Asian restaurant in Dubai. Friendly staff, authentic Pakistani Indian food, cozy atmosphere for singles or families and excellent live music make this the ideal place to go for dinner. Special thanks to Mr Ishfaq Butt and other staff who give excellent
it was an amazing time. place has live music, dance, and the best india food. Loved being treated by Ishfaq Butt, Vikash and Sandeep - they are superstars.
Nice place to visit. Have been here couple of times . They have good food and music. Can head to enjoy with group and is open till late night.
Beautifull ethnic environment inspite of small space . Food is yumm n typically North Indian cuisine. Must try tandoori chicken n grills.
Live old Hindi songs makes the experience nostalgic and enhances the indianness.
Overall experience is very good
We had ordered Butter Chicken/ Chicken Handy/ MiX Grill and mouth watering Ras Malai Awesome Service!! Specially Ishfaq’s was very friendly and make our day special with proactive approach / fantastic service.
One of the best restaurants in Bur Dubai area to enjoy authentic veg/non veg north Indian & hyderabadi dishes under one roof along with live music & dance ! And yes great collection of non alcoholic & alcoholic drinks!! The man behind this place Mr. Habib deserves all the accolades and appreciations besides his entire team !!!
Good food and service, paired with nice music. They had recent renovation mostly for interiors and sound system. Place looks much improved than earlier. Recommended for music lovers with indian meal preference.
We were at this restaurant last week and enjoy the luxury of this place and the food, it was amazing experience, highly recommending this restaurant, will be back for sure, cheers !!!
Ramadan Iftar at the heart of Old Souk Dubai facing Dubai museum and surrounded by mosques. @Arabiancourtyardhotel Burdubai is a perfect place to have evening prayers at the nearby mosque and then to break ramadan will the large buffet served at Arabian Courtyard.
My husband was offered a job in this hotel 14 years back which he declined coz they wanted him to join on single status. We were married and lots of emails were exchanged between both the parties but somehow it didn’t work out. But the hotel is still holds a special place and value for us. It was a great experience attending the Pre-Iftar launch yesterday night!

It is a good place to enjoy. You will get too much of Indian feeling there. Delicious food with good music will make your day better. It is little expensive but the quality of food is good.
You can try it for once.
The singer on the stage was excellent... live ghazals...unbelievable...but sound ergonomics were horrible... too uncomfortable to sit down as it was too loud ...food and service levels were average... they can for sure... do better...
Ambience of the restaurant was good...
Very nice family restaurant ,ambience and feel is very classy ..Live music is great their sitar player is just superb .Would love to come back again 😊
When you walk into the restaurant you are reminded of the real essence of India. With the traditional and cultural artefacts on the walls, the receptionist dressed in crisp saree and more, the Indianness stood out sharply. This place has singers and musicians who played the tabla, sitar and harmonium...a very qawali feel. The band was excellent with their Bollywood and Indian Ghazals as well. To complement this, there was a lady dancer dressed in Indian attire who swooned and danced away with perfect steps to the rhythm. Excellent I must say.
The food was very delicious. The quantity was fairly good. The display and presentation made the food look even more appetising. The waiter serving us deserves full marks as well. We ordered the following and we allocate full marks to each.
Fresh fruit punch (mango and orange)
Kadak seekh kebab (mutton mince rolls, stuffed with green chilli and cheese)
Noorani seekh (mutton and chicken mince marinated and skewed)
Murgh handi and Mutton Rogan Ghosh.
Assortment of Indian breads.
Lovely restaurant and great food.
Best place too now in the town to enjoy music. Ambience too good. Singers are awesome 👏👏👏👏👏 Food is served hot and timely. Rates are good. Would strongly recommend to visit the place as have been there many times👍👍👍👍
Live Music and dancing along with Liquor and good food. Both the singers (male and female) are good specially on the yesteryear melodies.
The veg kababs, dal makhani and paneer are good over here accompanied by friendly staff.
Have valet parking to save from the woes of parking and discounts on few Credit cards..
A good place to relax, have a long dinner with family or casual after business dinner..
I just loved the restaurant
You can request for songs and they will sing it live and not just that you have dancers for the songs too.
The staff is super nice and the dancers are really sweet, they smile at you, they make eye contact its very nice.
The food is good too
My standard fav in any indian restaurant is butter chicken and naan and boy oh boy it was yummy!!
The ambience of the restaurant is good too but the food service was a little slow else I would have given it a full 5 star rating.
Located inside the Arabian Courtyard Hotel, the Mumtaz Mahal restaurant is ornately decorated and reminded me of the "Out of India" stores at the Mumbai International Airport chock full of Indian artifacts. After a long and tiring journey this was the ideal quiet place especially as I was the sole diner. A solitary sitar player sitting cross legged regaled me with soulful tunes.
The menu was extensive. My appetite was small and so I chose the tandoori paneer tikkas, raitha and buttered roomali roti. Quite a while later the meal arrived. The waiter presented the dishes and served me. The paneer tikkas were perfectly cooked, tender, golden hued and with a touch of chili that I assuaged with the cold dahi. The roti melted in my mouth. I enjoyed the meal.
Suddenly the musician asked me if I had a request. AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie" crossed my mind. Quickly I realized that it would shake the relaxed atmosphere and the waiters would probably dash out in fright. Then I wondered if he could play it on the sitar?
Staffs are very courteous and renders good service.food is good but would suggest to have more quantity of food!Dance performance as good as well.being there like 3 to 4 times. good ambiance
Have visited this place a couple of times. The food and cocktails are quite good. Music and dance performances are very average. But the staffs are very courteous and renders good service.
Had friends visiting from London and spent the entire time telling them how Indian food in the UK doesn't count as "real" Indian. I can't speak for them, but I can say that this place never disappoints.
The butter chicken was great; the palak paneer was fantastic; and the dahl maqani was off the charts. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I just wish they had the sitar guy on for a little longer, the live music is just a little too loud.
I had lunch at mumtaz mahal the other day. Personally, i don't like visiting restaurants with live music, its a disturbance for me while having food and also makes conversations difficult.
It was a different menu this time due to the festival of baisakhi.
We were greeted well, then sat down and ordered from this 2 page limited menu.
1. Non veg mix platter
Good variety of various grills to have at once, of which were
A. Chicken kebab-Well cooked , soft pieces of chicken kebab. But not the best on my plate
B. Chicken tikka- large cubes of spicy ,well cooked marinated chicken. Would be the second best on my plate from this plater
C. Mutton seekh kebab.
This one was my favorite of the served. Well cooked. Right amount of spices. Delicious.
2. Keema Kaleji
Normally i am not a mutton fan, but i stepped out of my zone and took a small spoon of this on my plate. And again. And again. It was that good. Minced pieces of mutton liver cooked well in right amount of spices and oil. Just perfect.
3. Murg makhanwala
Then came onto my plate this dish. Large piece of chicken that i would normally not expect elsewhere. In a beautiful aromatic tasty gravy. This was my favorite of the main course ordered.
4. Maa ki daal
This was bit of a dissapointment. I am for dal any day. But i think this time it lacked the right thickness and the right taste.
So there it is. My experience at the Mumtaz Mahal Restaurant at Arabian Courtyard hotel, bur dubai.
Not to forget, they offered a 50% discount on lunch menu which was pretty good.
They will definitely be seeing me again. Until next time
Bon Appetite
I am a regular customer at Mumtaz Mahal restaurant. The food is awesome and the staff is very courteous. I was especially pleased with the service provided by two staff members which are Vikas and Ishfaq. They are very helpful, respond effectively to complaints and serve clients as per their taste. During all my visits Vikas especially remembers what his customers like and works towards taking care of his guests in an efficient manner
Great restaurant with good ambience, live music and dance.Good food and great service by staff... got good attention from restraurant manager Mr Harish chamoli.. worthy of your time and money
It was a wonderful experience with the live music and
good food.... Very welcoming staff... Especially Mr Harish (restaurant manager) and Mr Sandeep who really helped with the menu which was indeed a good one... Will love to visit d place in future.....
Music and food ..... ambiance.. gentry .... presentation.... all too good .... must try masala peanuts and offcouse tawa fish was worth tasting
Amazing service given as soon as you enter. The staff are so attentive and make you feel very special. Food is superb. Tastes just like home! As a vegetarian, there was a wide selection. Live music when we entered and throughout the meal. Singers are super talented. Great evening a place you must visit!!!
Indian food restaurant located inside the Arabian Courtyard Hotel opposite the Dubai Museum, Meena Bazaar area.
Formal fine dining, with singers for entertainment.
Food very good.
Tasty food, Nice ambience and friendly staff. Live Sitar makes the atmosphere more pleasant. It was a special day for us and We enjoyed a lot.
We went their today for dinner but didn't find it as per our expectations...it used to be very nice in past but I think they have changed their staff and stage singers/performers maybe thats why we felt just OK.
However best was their Lahori fish and 20% discount on Emirates NBD and free valet parking that is why I gave 3.5 stars
If you mixed food with Music, its a good place to go. Royal theme is very well done.. Overall Good Food!!!
Music : 3.5/5
Food : 3/5
Service : 3.5/5
Indian dining restaurant with live classical music which accepts your requests.
They perform on some songs also and is not a shady place. A lot of foreigners and families visit regularly.
Food is good quality and starters are free with amazing sauce.
Drinks are optional and priced just like bars.
Awesome food with live music .... kurkuri bhindi is nice in starters...achaari chicken tikka is good also...dal tadka is nice...a must restaurant for dinner with sound tracks of your likings
Tried Iftar buffet with family & friends. Decent spread of Indian and some Pak dishes. Food quality is quite OK. The buffet was surprisingly missing the Biryani & some other authentic Indian sweets. With the cobone offer, we couldnt complain much.
The main iftar buffet is on Level 1 which was very crowded on the weekend. Thankfully they offered us a seating in the main restaurant which has amazing decor. Tables & seating are tastefully & traditionally done. Live music just added to the experience.
The hotel offers valet parking which is quite a relief in the busy Bur Dubai area.
I would recommend a try once at least for the unique environment inside and very good service starting from the entrance to inside the restaurant.
We stayed at Arabian Courtyard during our holiday in Dubai and ate here every night. Love the food, the ambience and even the service.
Live singer was an added jewel! The manager was patient and sweet enough to explain some of the arabic dishes to me.
Buffet is very reasonably priced and food tastes delicious. We all loved it a lot!
Best for occasions
Ordered chicken Tikkas
Fish tikka
Mutton kabab
Paneer tikka as a veg option.
Main course
Chicken curry
Biryani
Basket of assorted bread ( quite expensive )
Bar available
Live entertainment
And family siting too.
Service 4/5
Food 3.5/5
Pricing 3/5
Arrangements 4/5
Excellent food. Lip smacking paneer and superb service
We recently had a bday celebration there and the guests simply loved the food. Keep it up
nice entertainment, loved the atmosphere.food quality should be improved a bit and the same for service, highly recommended to try for indian music lovers
One of the few places in Dubai which I would recommend for good live Indian music. They entertain to our requests, sing songs that would take you back to the yester years, which really match with the wonderful ambiance. Food is very good and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had ordered their Malai Tikka, Veg Kebab Platter, Dal Makhani, Kofta Curry, Jinga Kaali Mirch, Murg Makhani, along with naans. Whenever we go we try something new and don't get disappointed. Check it out!
Visited the restaurant last night for a family dinner! Here's a review of what we are alongside the ambience:
Firstly, the music is unbearably loud. From a teenager's point of view listening to classic music, the music makes me unable to speak to people sitting with me. I believe the size of the restaurant is small for a loud mic and speakers. However, it's noteworthy that their music is classically genuine. The singers commence by saying about the song being played and the person who requested it. Additionally, the dancers were well.
Besides, their starters were colorfully filling! I'm stating 'colorful' because of every starter plate had a different color on it. For instance, their fish tikka was green whilst the paneer was yellow and white. They tasted fine! Also, the black dal can make you drowsy.
Lastly, the waiters were communicably interactive and it was impressive to never see them with a disappointed or with a busy face!
An evening well spent !! Food, Live Music, Dance all were upto the mark. Especially the dancers performed like professionals & were quite a treat to watch. Prior reservations are recommended as its gets crowded after 9pm on weekends. The staff is also courteous & the hospitality of hostess Namita was the icing on the cake.
Keep up the good work & looking forward in visiting again !!

Nice place..many options on menu. Food was really tastey and matched the standards of the hotel. Must visit. Luve music was worth a watch. Staff was polite and courteous too.
Worth a try. 😊
I had visited this place with my family, as it had been on the wishlist of my uncle. The ambience is cosy and reminds me of the medieval times of the Mughals. We were the only customers there as we had gone at 12 am. The live entertainment is okayish to me as the songs were back from the 1980s. My uncle thoroughly enjoyed themusic, though. We ordered 3 pints of beer and a dry martini for drinks and Paneer Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala, Roti ki Tokri for the food.
The service was good, and the potion was also reasonable. The food was very tasty, I would recommend it to be visited once.
Free valet service for diners, and a warm welcome almost every time sets you in a good mood for dinner. The restaurant does have a decent ambience however the ghazals are a bit too loud, in a manor that it makes it a little difficult to talk to the person right beside you. The quality of music played has also changed over the years and it's more trendy dance songs; which is a little too noisy sometimes when you're expecting a calm night with ghazals and slow songs. The food on the other hand makes up for it, and anything on their menu is cooked well. Strongly recommend their Malai Chicken for starters and their Chicken Tikka Masala. Deserts are pretty good as well and has a decent portion for their price. However many a times - specially on weekdays - their service can get extremely slow despite the lack of crowd which truly surprises me. Recommended alone, with a bunch of friends or with a family as well.
One of the best restaurants in terms of Food & Music.....I loved the ambiance.....The singers there did a good job.....The place goes lively after 9.00 - 9.30....The decor of this restaurant is pretty well done....Coming to the food, which was really good...being Vegan we had good options to order for. The Makai Aur Paneer ka Seekh was very well presented as well as it tasted good, for the main course , we thought of trying some unusual dish rather than the regular Panner & veggies we opted for Mirch Baingan ka Salan, which turned out above our expectation....I can say good quality restaurant to try....Must visit..........
Well if you are looking for good food, entertainment, drinks and music then this is the place for all of you.
I often go this restaurant with my family and always enjoy a good variety of cocktails and mocktails. Not sure whether how will u take the dance and music kind of thing there some people don't really like it there.
The food and service is quiet good.
Overall I would say an above average restaurant but good for people who want to see live entertainment.
If you want to experience true Indian cuisine accompanied by live entertainment, then this is the place for you. I believe we went here on a Thursday evening, and although it might be sleazy to some, I really enjoy the live performance by two dancers to Bollywood numbers. The food is amazing and lives up to the authentic taste. Overall, highly recommended!
One of the better Indian Hotel - restaurants with live entertainment. Food is really good. Entertainment is not bad, some recorded music and accompanying dance interspersed with some live singing with improvisations. I would have preferred to avoid the dances which are welcomed with vociferous comments from some captive audience around the stage make for frequent uneasy moments for families. But I won't hold it against them- they do good work, but the volume is really a conversation stopper.
The decor is carefully done with rich mahogany woodwork resembling royal palatial furnitures with swings and brocaded niches.
We had a booking done on phone and was given a very nice alcove with a centre view to the stage. Be careful about the lights though, as they are unevenly distributed. Few yrs back, twice, I had been given seats with subliminal lights- almost impossible to read the menu even. Not this time though.
We ordered Paneer kurkuri which was prepared like a spring roll and super tasty. And also chicken koliwada- which was not like the koliwada we knew from Mumbai, and pretty bland. Except 3 juices, the rest of the juices on the menu were canned only. For the main course we ordered Dal Makhani- which was heavenly, Mutton Lal Maas- a bit too spicy and less chilly- which should have been the reverse, but still very good. Also we had Mutton Rogan Josh- a toned down fusion type dish- didn't whett our expectation. Overall a quite good dining experience.
One last thing, might be because of being a weekday or a part of cost cutting from the management, the service was not upto our expectations. A bit difficult to catch the eye of a waiter/ server, and hardly anybody ever asked about any requirements in the whole of 2 hrs we were there.
Still it's a good place to dine with family. Recommended.
25.6.17. Today I had a delightful experience with the Eid ul fitur special Hyderabadi swagat set menu from 8 pm to 11 pm. At 89 dhs a piece which includes a cocktail or a cocktail, it's a superb value for money offer. Veg and non-veg both items are there. And a dessert of Rabri.
We have been there last month for our wedding anniversary. The food is delicious. As it was a Thursday night, the music and dance was very much entertaining! Service is fantastic. Will definitely revisit.
Location: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5
Food: 4/5
Value for Money : 3/5
Overall: 3.5/5
These guys have massively improved their dishes. I went to this place couple of years back but don't remember being the food so good. I have been there a couple of times in the recent month and have had a good time. Still the prices are relatively on the higher side given its location where a lot of cheaper and popular places are around. This place is for people who don't mind a drink along with their food. The food as I said earlier has improved and is much tastier be it the veg or the non veg items. The service at this place is good. I would recommend this place for their ambience, the live entertainment for those who enjoy ghazals and dance.

As the weather gets hotter, souks are better in the evening, and this is the perfect stop afterwards. It's in the rambling and quaint Arabian Courtyard hotel, opposite the Dubai Museum. This is where all the souk traders go after work, and it gets pretty lively later in the night after they shut up shop. They file in, take their bottle of Johnny Walker Black from their personal locker, and talk shop with their compatriots until the wee hours. Get there just before them, take a seat in a velvet-lined rickshaw, eat a biryani, and watch some Bollywood moves on the stage, interposed by quiet sets with a sitar. Trust me, there's nothing back home quite like it for westerners, and ignoring the Indian element in Dubai (particularly among the traders) is like throwing out a third of the slice of the culture pie in this city.
