I love the Taste of Asia menu where you get to try almost everything in the menu in a bit size portion. I also like the quiet vibe of the restaurant, romantic but it’s also good a nice catch-up with friends or family. And the staff will make sure they assist you with your needs and request. It’s a hidden gem indeed.
Had an influencer treat here and all we can say is that they know what excellent restaurant service is all about be it in theie food quality, the staff and their assistance, the quality. I just wish they light up the place with a better cozy lighting.
Been to Shanghai Chic couple of times and would highly recommend their unlimited tasting menu which is beyond expectation... Great Food and Great Service.
Must Try Wasabi Prawns...
PS hope they keep the unlimited tasting menu 😊
Love the food ,professional staff, we went on a dry night thats why unable to try the drinks menu . Highly recommend, a good mix of Asian delicacies.
The food here is wonderful. Great ambiance, friendly staff who remember you and good service. I’ve eaten here many times beginning years ago when I first discovered their set menu. The food is amazing. I hadn’t visited for a while maybe a year and I got the impression the head chef may have changed as the food seemed revamped. The beef tenderloin was stand out good - juicy melt in your mouth and bursting full of peppery flavour. My favourite is the watermelon shrimp, as always gorgeously crispy, sweet with a bang of heat when you get that wasabi in your mouth - utterly delicious. Can’t wait to head back there again.
Fantastic tasting experience of very good Chinese cuisine I must stay with a bit of Japanese😊
Great appetizers especially the prawn dumplings, Thai salad and crab meat with vermicelli.for the mains the beef tenderloin crispy, chicken , sea bass steamed is very good
And the ice creams assorted and coconut pudding is excellent
Tasting menu is as much as you want to eat, straight from the kitchen to your table..
Service is friendly, fast and efficient.. Drinks are topped up without question. What more could one ask for .
Been there twice for the unlimited tasting night. 240dhs per person with soft drinks. Recommend the wasabi prawns, black pepper beef tenderloin, Peking duck. One small tips: try all the signatories before you get full!
Thumbs up for this 'to die for' restaurant inside Movenpick Hotel close to Ibn Battuta Gate. They offer a very unique unlimited tasting nights from the menu that comes in small portions. Make sure you reach atleast an hr and half before closing in view to relish every item on the menu. My all time favourite is Wasabi Prawns that is very nostalgic. It comes along with a piece of water melon just below each Wasabi Prawn. Probably if you are not used to Wasabi then be cautious as it hits straight to your nose....but I just love that..... Rest all on the menu are equally good that will definitely satisfy your taste buds and hungry soul
Quite surprised to know that we can have this quality of unlimited food and drinks at this reasonable rate. Undoubtedly, one of the best choices in Jebel Ali area to have beers with awesome dim sums! Located in deep inside of Movenpick. Worth visiting Movenpick just for this restaurant!
We came back to Shanghai Chic for a birthday celebration with the kids and grandparents, 5 YEARS after we first visited! How I regret not having come back much sooner..
We all selected the tasting menu, where you basically can order anything off the menu as many times as you want, and they will be freshly cooked and served to you in tasting portions! Much better than a buffet.. and this also includes unlimited starters, soft drinks, and desserts of your choosing.
While the food was mostly very good, The pepper beef was outstanding (just as I remembered from so long ago), as well as the wasabi prawns.. we just couldn’t get enough of them. The desserts were also very good.
Service was above par, Gyanu was very friendly and took the time to explain and recommend dishes to us throughout the evening, and made it a very pleasant experience.
The restaurant is quite large but fills up quickly, reservations are a must at the weekend. The decor is ok for a 5* venue but could do with a few updates and interior design. Location is pretty convenient at the Movenpick Ibn Battuta Hotel, with free valet parking, and a very picturesque hotel interior.
We look forward to visiting again, will definitely aim to make it within 5 months, not years!

Shanghai Chic is the Asian dining option of the five star Movenpick hotel located in IBN Batutta. I would consider this to be between upscale to fine dining. The venue is nicely decorated and welcome. The decoration is modern, well maintained, shiny and polished. I noticed this as a trend throughout the hotel where if there are any blemishes, they are promptly addressed. The servers are well trained, while manners and professionalism are what you would expect from one of the best hotel chains in the world.
We went there for their buffet. It was amazing. There are some signature dishes we ordered more than twice! One is kinda pork, I forgot the name, but very special way of making pork. Almost everything on their buffet menu was good.
Shanghai Chic is located at Movenpick IBN Batuta Hotel has proven to be one of the top class Chinese restaurants in Dubai. Shanghai Chic offers your taste buds a roller coaster journey from their Wasabi prawns, black pepper beef and dim sum platter were outstanding. Went with a group and we cleaned out the table...awesome food and service! 👍😜👍
The #ChineseNewYear shines upon us as we partook in an enthralling dinner experience at one of my fav Chinese restaurants in town. Shanghai Chic in @movenpickibg is having a unlimited tasting menu wherein you get to try out beautifully presented yet delicious dishes right at your table. Did I mention that there are over 30 delicious dishes to feast upon not just with your eyes but your palate as well, that come served in small portions? An Amazing concept not to be missed .What made the dishes stand out apart from their taste was the cute little notes , handwritten in Chinese, with various quotes that represent beautiful sayings of Chinese New Year, etched into some of the dishes. Ni hao! 🇨🇳
Excelllent Food ..
The Unlimited Tasting was so divine... Kevin was extremely good to his customer service skills and made us feel home.
Thank you so much..
Will soon be back!
I have been coming here for years. Do the unlimited tasting night, where you can sample (and order a full portion) of the listed dishes in the menu. They rotate dished all the time, so there is always plenty of variety. Ambiance is a miss. Service is great, value for money is good.

Great place that we have visited a few times now. Here is how it went last time:
Food:
*note that there was a lot of food, so I'll just cover some*
Maki Rolls - very nice with well cooked rice and good basic mixtures
Duck Wraps - a favorite of mine with its tender duck and soft wraps with a sweet and tasty sauce
Hot and Sour Soup - thick and strongly seasoned, is very easy to pick out both the sweet and spicy flavors. Definitely delicious
Fried Potato - actually not good. It's the only thing I did not like as they were soft and had very little taste
Wasabi Prawn on Watermelon - a classic dish, but done extremely well here. The batter and sauce were both light but definitely packed flavor and the watermelon complimented everything nicely
Black Pepper Beef - tasted great with its strong savory sauce and perfectly cooked meat
Fried Rice - a basic recipe, but cooked very well
Service: they are extremely quick and always nice
Ambiance: a bit too dark for my taste, but it looks very nice. The crowds can get obnoxious though
Bang for Buck: expensive, but if you come here hungry it's well worth it
In summary, wonderful place I will always recommend.
Been here a couple of times. Love their unlimited sampler portion table service concept. Got to try various delicacies without having to stuff your selves. Most of the items on the menu are done really well. Movenpick is proving they are not just good in icecreams😄
We went for my bday and was thoroughly delighted; great ambience with an even better pan Asian cuisine; we opted for smoked Asian beef with chicken bao’s ; steamed dumplings and noddles on the side; what particularly caught my eye was the ninja kids meal filled with nutrients and appealing to the eye too. We will go back for more soon
This exquisite Asian restaurant is beautifully housed inside the Movenpick Ibn Battuta Hotel .Though sophisticated and modern, Shanghai Chic offers the best of Asian cuisine to satisfy your individual craving for Asian food. This restaurant is sure to inspire your tastebuds with a varied menu which includes crispy Perky ducks served on thin pancakes with hoisin, onions and cucumber. This super-stylish yet fashionable restaurant also offers unlimited tasting nights; but the combined of Asian cuisine and nightlife makes Shanghai chic the perfect ultimate dining space for food lovers.
Heaven. Absolute heaven. The food is too die for. I tried multiple things there but my favorite which won my heart was the wasabi prawns.
The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing, the staff was really friendly as well.
I would definitely come here again and would recommend to all the foodies.
Thank you for a great experience.
Beautiful dark interiors... dim lights; Service staff with smiles on their faces. Good start to the evening.
Fairly simple ordering process, which is explained by the hostess. Food comes in small servings; can order as much as you like. Delicious food, delicate dimsums, crispy pork belly, the red snapper and the wonderful bok choy. Food is excellent; only wish it were not all that sweet and saucy. The service staff were attentive and suggestive when asked a question.
They accept entertainer vouchers; so makes the deal even sweeter.
I visited for the first time last night and the food was great quality and delicious. The tasting menu deal they offer cannot be beaten for value and our glasses were constantly filled. We enjoyed all our food but the highlights for me were the pepper beef and pork belly. The staff were also great and made the night even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back.
@We went to their Unlimited tasting night at #ShangaiChic 🥡@MovenPickIBG 😍 This restaurant offers Unlimited tasting menu priced at only AED 240 per person and serves an epic array of dishes that you can’t simply resist 🤤
We literally went gaga over some Dishes. The presentations were right on point. The staff was very humble and courteous. Got to try some new asian dishes. Literally ended up cancelling half the dishes from the maincourse because we ordered too many appetizers.
Its literally a steal deal for all the asian lovers. Must try this offer before it ends. This menu offers more than 30 dishes. You will find everything from chicken, beef, lamb to all sort of seafood. True authentic asian flavors to fulfill your tastebuds. Must try this place with friends or family who loves feasting on Thai, chinese, Japanese or Korean. Prepare yourselves to be in a Foodcoma because the dishes are delectable and there is not even humanly possible to try everything in one single visit!
The tasting menu was just so unbelievably good with each dish just as mouthwatering as the next and the best part is you can order as many portions as you want!! The pork dishes were the highlight in the menu and we can't wait to go again just for this.
Movenpick Ibn Battuta Gate is my favourite among all their hotel chains. It’s interiors inspired by Ancient travels are unbeatable. As soon as you enter the magnificent hall, you will be stunned by all the 88 lanterns hanging under one roof. It’s a beautiful scene and it’s a shame not to click a picture.
Excellent service and a well organised menu made for a pleasant dining experience. The food was delicious as well - especially the dynamite chicken and Thai snapper fish. Prices are on the higher side, as expected for a five star venue but they accept Entertainer vouchers. The decor is garish, but everything else was spot on.
I have known about Shanghai Chic for a little while, but we finally made our first appearance last night. We took advantage of their tasting menu, which was a perfect fit for what we want in a buffet. You can order an unlimited amount of small plates of each of the items that they have listed on their menu.
They have a well versed menu of salads, sushi, appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The restaurant was full so we were glad we had reservations. The staff was super friendly and efficient considering how busy they were taking and filling orders and keeping the drinks filled.
We tried a little of everything and enjoyed everything we had. The octopus and wasabi shrimp were the two that we remember the most. The desserts were all delicious as we tried each one they offer.
Overall it was a great dining experience and one that we would do again.
This food journey began even before I set foot at this restaurant. Some friends lauded this place as one of, if not the, best restaurant they've been to. Those conversations unwittingly created high expectations and anticipation for the time my lips will touch the supposedly wonderful creations this place offers.
With another friend in tow, I headed to Mövenpick to finally give the place a try. From reception, the restaurant is at the far end of the lobby/hall. It felt like the longest short walk. I felt like walking in slow motion as a gazed in awe at scores of giant Arabian/Moroccan lamps that dangle from the high ceiling. It further fed the anticipation for a memorable dining experience.
At the restaurant we were welcomed and shown to our table by the lovely guest relations officer. We were then greeted by the staff who would serve our table the entire evening. There was an air of formality inside. The interiors were that of modern Chinese fine dining style. The staffs move with a subdued refinement as though each movement was numbered.
We opted for the tasting menu to taste more dishes and "test" our friends' stories. We started off with a few items from the appetizers, sushi bar and dim sum sections. It was a perfect start. We were impressed by the dishes we tried. The two that stood out the most were the vegetable spring roll and dynamite chicken. To think that we were not interested on the latter until the staff convinced us to try it. We moved on to main course feeling very positive. We selected ten items to feast on. All were good but were not all rave-worthy. The sweet and sour pork, peking duck and spicy chicken were the bottom three. These were good but did not outshine the other dishes. The taste was comparable to other mid-priced restaurants that I've been to. Our top picks were Thai snapper in three-flavoured sauce, black pepper beef tenderloin and newby chamomile tea, honey pork belly. We nearly passed up on the last one. Good thing we changed our minds. I will not attempt to describe each for I will not be able to do them justice. You simply have to go and try them yourself. To cap our meal, we each selected a dessert. My friend had mango pudding and I had tira mi pele. Both were wonderful.
We came here because of glossy feedback from friends. We ate to our hearts content and left full and impressed. Now, I join my friends who rave about this place.
Shanghai Chic, wow me again on my next visit!
If you love oriental cuisine and seek to taste a little bit of everything without stuffing yourself royally, then head to Shanghai Chic @movenpickibg for Unlimited Tasting Nights from Wednesdays to Fridays. Make sure to order the Dynamite Chicken for your entree!
Breathe in and feel the invisible vapour rise up and consume your senses. It ain't wasabi prawns without that distinct wasabi kick! I must commend the chef for this signature dish which retains its crisp exterior beneath a blanket of wasabi dressing.
s if the starters weren't a delectable enough selection of oriental flavors, the main dishes took it to the next level. The Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin, Sweet and Sour Pork, Mongolian Crispy Lamb and Marinated Spare Ribs were my top four contenders.
With a sweet filling reminiscent of my favorite Filipino-Chinese 'tikoy', the mochi with popping boba brought a happy ending to our table.
Unlimited Tasting at Shanghai Chic calls for a chic ensemble that serves also to disguise a profoundly satisfied stomach. Wednesdays to Fridays. Be there!
A great dinner experience at the Movenpick Ibn Battuta Gate. We showed up a little before our reservation on a Wednesday evening and made use of the complimentary valet parking at the hotel. After spending a little bit of time in the lobby, we made our way to the restaurant and were promptly seated in a booth by the smiling hostess.
We were there for specifically for the Unlimited Tasting Night which is worth every penny. We started with a generous sampling of various appetizers out of which the dynamite chicken and grilled beef sushi were the most noteworthy. The portions were perfect to get a good sense of taste for two people.
The mains were fantastic. Shout outs to the black pepper beef and wasabi prawn which were absolutely brilliant. We managed to leave enough room for desert which was also quite good.
Service was great, with the restaurant staff eager to swing by to take additional orders or provide suggestions as your plates emptied out. The only thing that stopped me from a 5 star rating was that it took quite a while to get our bill and pay at the end of the night since the restaurant had started filling up by that point. Other than that, everything was spot on!
Went there with my wife for the Chefs Menu. The food was fantastic and some of the best i have ever tasted.
Highlights -
Crispy Skinned Duck
Creme Caramel (best i have ever tasted)
My score would have been five if not for the limited option of only having 2 deserts on the menu.

This was fine dining Asian restaurants should strive to be. Shanghai Chic has got the basics covered with almost everything spot on. From the decor, lighting schemes to its extra special food. Everything is prim and proper. Perfect for a date night!

@AyaashPaw
Went with family last Sat for testing night. That's what was told to us when we did the booking but it turned out to be Chef's table night. The cost for Chef's table night is slightly cheaper and a downsized menu compared to testing night menu. Though the selection was limited but quality was good. I believe for a good dining experience, service level also need to match and that's where they lack. Service could be lot more better. They really need to be more personal rather than being mechanical.

Last night we celebrated Thanksgiving with some really good fusion Chinese at Shanghai Chic in Mövenpick Ibn Batuta Gate. Shanghai Chic offers an Unlimited Tasting Night from Wednesday to Friday which is priced at AED 295 with soft drinks and AED 325 with house beverages. The concept of this tasting night is quite interesting. You can sample anything off the menu which is served in an individual portion, and if you like it, you can order it as many times as you want. Obviously, since we wanted to take in as many flavors as we could, we tried out most of the items from their menu while also ordering doubles of a couple of them.
I came here for their unlimited tasting night as I've heard so much about how good it is. True enough, everything was spot on!
The place sat in a little corner of the hotel's ground floor. It's very classy but not over the top. It was packed being Thursday night and yet the service was still "very" efficient. Sunny, the food attendant was friendly and knowledgeable, and very quick at what she does! 5/5
I don't know where to start with the food. The small portion concept was just a superb idea as we got to taste almost everything on the menu without overstuffing ourselves. Well, maybe, towards the end we struggled a little bit but still managed to have a room for desserts. Flavours were top notch in every single dish and the presentation and plating were done perfectly. My favorite was the wasabe prawn, black pepper beef, all the pork dishes and all the desserts. :) 5/5
The unlimited tasting night is for AED 225/- for soft beverages package and an additional of AED 100 if you will opt for alcohol package. This is a good deal, more so if you have the 2 for 1 voucher! Fantastic value for money. 4.5/5
Overall experience. 4.5/5
I went there with my friends for dinner. We enjoyed there a lot .The services provided by them is fantastic. The staff members are cooperative .The serve there duties properly.
the place are high recommended for those who has special occasion , then this is the right place for you , you will feel who the staff are highly professional and friendly , it look like the food just made freshly for you , thanks to amazing staff Donna, Jones , Sunny, Ashan
Ive tried their unlimited dim sum night with select house beverages and it was great. Friendly staff, greeted promptly and shown to our seats. In addition to the unlimited dim sums from their fixed menu, we were also given a small sample of their taster selections, and I absolutely loved the honey glazed fish. I've visited them in 2015 though and I dont know if their menus and theme nights have changed but I would love to come back and dine with them again.
We had the most amazing time at Shanghai chic! Great ambience , outstanding service and the food was so exquisite and exotic !! Chef Pele worked his magic so wonderfully! Great evening !! Must try :)
Managed to get a table on the off chance on a Thursday night. Used the entertainer 2 4 1 on mains. Service was attentive throughout and started with what was the best son tam salad I have tasted outside of Thailand, perfectly spiced and fresh. Followed with some dim sum and finished with the red snapper which to my disappointment was deep fried fish Bits rather than a nice fillet. It sadly didn't bring the best out of the lovely meaty fish that I have grown to love over the years hence a slight deduction. Washed down with a couple of nice glasses of Sauvignon blanc . Did offer feedback and was pleasantly surprised to get a small discount so will definitely return for the tasting night

With a very cautious mind (because we have never found a semi decent asian inspired restaurant) me and my wife decided to go to shanghai chic, but...WOW!!, the service from being greated at the door was fantastic...the waiting staff are attentative and very polite!, no matter if ur dressed in a suit or shorts and t shirt, everybody was treated with the upmost respect.
Now to get onto the food, we ordered fried rice, sweet and sour pork and pawn dim sums, to say the food was amazing is an understatment , it was absolutely fantastic!!!
I will be going back again and again and again....
One of the best places i have eaten in dubai!!!
Please do not change a thing that you do.
Unlimited tasting night, more food than any gourmand can handle, nice drinks, tasty deserts, fast and friendly service, beautiful location... this place has it all. And they serve pork dishes, which for us was a plus. Loved it and will definitely go back soon!
This is a summarized review, for the Full review visit link in bio!
Ramadan's here and with it comes more time to spend with friends and family and evenings filled with food! We had a tasting session at the elegant Shanghai Chic recently and loved it! Shanghai chic is located at the end of One of the grand, lantern filled corridor of the movenpick ibn battuta and does complete justice to the latter part of its name with its stylish, warm decor and ambiance. The restaurant boasts of an interested unlimited tasting night concept where you can feast on the detailed menu to your hearts content.
The hospitable staff treated us to a plethora of dishes that were unique in both taste and presentation. Out of everything we ate, the following dishes really left a great impression:
1. KUNAFA wrapped prawns
2. Zucchini stuffed prawns
3. Chicken siew mai
4. Peking duck pancakes
5. Seared sea snapper
6. Double cooked roasted pork belly
7. Galangal Panna cotta with strawberry marshmallows and sweet sticky wonton crisps
We had a lovely experience at Shanghai Chic! Whenever you're dining there make sure you don't miss out on the Kunafa wrapped prawns!
With the Holy Month of Ramadan just around the corner, it is quite an exciting time to be in the UAE, what with shorter school & office hours, more time to spend with friends and family and of course, evenings filled with food! So, speaking of food, we have been out and about at various tasting sessions and Iftar previews and we’ve got a restaurant for you to try: Shanghai Chic, an Asian restaurant in the Movenpick Ibn Battuta Gate. Famed for the plethora of vibrant, majestic lanterns lining its corridors, the Arabian-styled hotel is elegant, fragrant and inviting with Shanghai Chic comfortably nestled at the end of one such illuminated corridor on the grand ground floor.
I have been a regular at shanghai chic for the last three years and is the only Chinese restaurant I would recommend in Dubai. The hotel is beautiful as is the restaurant, and luckily I don't live too far away. The concept is excellent value, particularly when Asian food is commonly very expensive. I either go for the alcohol (285)or non-alcohol (180) depending on whether it is weekday or weekend.
Similar to brunch this allows you unlimited dishes off their tasting menu and unlimited soft or alcoholic drinks. Each dish is made to order and comes out beautifully presented and delicious within a reasonable time. There are so many dishes to try, expect to eat a lot!
Dishes of note are: foie gras gyoza, prawn toasts, pork ribs, spring rolls, sweet and sour pork with pomegranate, sesame chicken, peking duck. I could go on, but there are too many to list!
This used to be a hidden gem, but I think it has now become quite well known. It should be rated as the best Chinese food you can get in Dubai, and I look forward to many more visits.
I can see why everyone raves about this place. One of the most amazing meals I've had in a long time. Or should I say lots of dishes. The unlimited tasting menu deal lets you do just that. Smalls dishes of all their appetizers / mains / vegetables / fish / meat etc. As it was our first time I didn't want to miss out on any signature dishes so Chris our waiter was fabulous he told us what we should try and he was spot on each time. He's a credit to the restaurant. As were all the staff. Who were very patient with us. Will definitely be going back and recommending to all!
The best Asian food I have ever eaten!!! So I had their set menu and the choices variety of food was just amazing for just 155 per person.. Each and everything on the menu was exceptional.. Moving on to the service.. Best service in dubai for sure.. Each n every server supervisor n the manager also came to our table to ask us how our food was.. I loved everything about this dining experience and will definitely go back very soon! All the servers made our night n my birthday very special :) thank u all!! And see u soon
Tucked away in the beautifully stunning Movenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate, is the super chic Asian fusion restaurant aptly named Shanghai Chic. It’s one of eight restaurants which can be found inside the 5 star hotel. Cherrie the restaurant manager greeted us upon arrival and was expecting our visit. The restaurant is made up of half moon booths as well as tables for larger groups. We were led to our seats where we were handed the menus and given a brief overview of how it works.
My colleagues invited me to a tasting dinner here, and it was nothing short of amazing! The waiter Leon was knowledgeable and very accommodating. As someone who has lived in Asia, the food was super authentic and the fusion pieces were an explosion of taste. The wasabi shrimp and kanafe shrimp was one of the best dishes I've had in awhile. I will definitely be coming here again and recommending it to my friends.
We have again visitied to enjoy their good food, we already know the food that we wanted remembering on our previous visits, but then it was not available as we were informed that they are changing the menu every 3 months...( we will take note of this and probably we will call and check nezt time before going)
The food was (as always) very good and the portioning is perfect, no food is wasted and if you wanted more you can always re-order, their concept is very good instead of a buffet wherein people tend to get a lot of food and end up throwing.
The service is very good too and David has given us a 5star service.
Very good food with exceptional service - super worth it :-) :-) :-)
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Dubai. This is my favorite restaurant at Ibn Battuta Gate and I think I have tried everything on their menu! The tasting menu is an ingenious idea. I have not been here in about a year since I moved out of Dubai but some of my favorite dishes on the menu were: the spicy tuna on tortilla chips, The black pepper beef (so tender!), wasabi prawns and the kunafa wrapped prawns.
Great service too. Can't wait for my next trip to Dubai so I can go back to this place!
Love the tasting menu. Superb options ranging for tuna tartare to lemongrass macaroons. Sample it all! Loved the service and the ambience too.. Would go back certainly@
Overall the food was okay nothing too great, however the staff was welcoming and nice.
Cooked to perfection!! asian chic black pepper beef.
most of the food tastes good. although the portions were really tiny. the snapper with orange sauce was not good at all. the fish lost its flavor to the artificial orange taste. stay away from it. the peking duck was pretty good but don't expect it to be the same caliber as the stuff you can get in Beijing! the roast pork wasn't what we were expecting... it was chopped up into tiny pieces and put in tomato sauce. the staff are very warm & polite. the ambience was really nice.
Great Food and Service! Look No Further!
Had dinner at the restaurant with friends and couldn't of asked for a better place. I've eaten almost everything off the menu and it is brilliant . Chef Pele Dessert was sinful.
Leon and the rest of the staff were outstanding and made our dining experience fun and relaxing.
Thank you Chef Pele for the amazingly great food.
We will surely be back
We are, group of 4, visited this place yesterday, for first time trying "testing night" concept. Absolutely great experience, good food, amusing waiter, affordable price (188 aed per person), you can try this place bravely!

Been here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it turns to be a good decision. The place was very cozy, candlelight dinner. The staff were all attentive and very helpful when it comes in choosing food. Its tasting night and all you have to do is seat and ask for any food items in their menu and they will serve it at your table at any quantity. I love their wasabi prawns and kanafu breaded prawn. Their ramen was soo good and their roast duck is crispy. Stuff crab was creamy and delicious. When it comes in dessert, they only have 5 items to choose from so its not for dessert people. Overall it is a great value for your money.
Shanghai Chic does an outstanding a la carte all you can eat deal for just AED188 (excluding drinks).
The place has a sophisticated feel, with high ceilings and dark red and black decor.
The menu offers a range of starters, meat, seafood, soups and desserts....all beautifully presented. Check the wasabi prawns out, they were great, served on a cube of watermelon...
Service is slick, attentive and generally excellent - although we went on a quiet night. Infact, it's been quiet every time I've been there. Maybe something to do with the traffic in the evenings trying to get into Ibn Battuta Mall and the Gardens?
Go there before everyone realises how good this is!
Me and my friends went here straight from the airport after a long flight from the UK and we just wanted some good food good service and we all received much more than expected. The duck is so good and i highly recommend the duck with the pancakes (in the starter menu) just some of the best duck i have ever had. The food was just amazing, and the service was some of the best service i have ever received and it has such a good atmosphere
