LEGENDS DUBAI CREEK & YACHT CLUB – FRIDAY BRUNCH REVIEWOpened in 1993, designed as a massive sail of a dhow (which is also inscribed on 20 dirham bill), the fine dining restaurant Legends is an architectural beauty situated at the Dubai Creek & Yacht Club, Port Saeed, Deira Dubai, surrounded by the lush greens of the iconic Dubai Creek Golf, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The outdoor seating area is a visual treat with breathtaking and unobstructed views of the golf course and Dubai, a small water fountain also works its magic in creating a placating feel all around. The inside dining area is studded with comfortable and intimate sofa style seats, carpeted floor and subtle accents of colors in natural form, which is very warm and pleasing to the sight.Famous for its legendary brunch every Friday which runs during the afternoon, and in the evening, we headed to Legends to discover what the ‘old curiosity shop’ had in store for us. With no pretense of the present day, Legend simply exuded the classic charm of the yester. Glass walls that welcomed the light airiness into the room the mild clatter of the guests, the subtle sound of cutlery clinking resonated in a refreshing panache of liveliness, warmth, and lure. The brunch offers a buffet starters, mains and desserts, as well as an a la carte main course, served on the table. The starters came in an array of bite-size, canape style dishes including, sushi, Arabic mezze, and even a substantial seafood selection. For a greener and crunchier choice, the adorable salad ‘balls’ came with a variety of options and dressings you can mix and shake according to your preference. The main course buffet spread was arranged on the terrace included a number of delicious dishes that make it literally impossible not to overeat. You will find numerous favorites on offer including the roast carvery, stir-fries, curries, chili con carne, pasta, grilled fish and even dim sum. Our favorite was the deliciously stir-fried prawns with a slightly spicy flavor. The grilled Salmon also tasted divine with the side sauce. The lamb curry was juicy and tender and tasted great with plain white rice. What sets the brunch apart from any standard brunches in the city is without a doubt the a la carte menu. The freshly prepared display of molecular gastronomy is where you actually go back and realize what makes fine dining an exquisite culinary experience. Chef Bosco has been around at the Legends Dubai Creek and Yacht Club for a long time and knows the art of steak perfectly. From the Ribeye steak to grilled sea bass and yellow chicken supreme, the taste is extraordinaire! Tender succulent, spiced to perfection and presented in ultimate artistry the a la carte menu is gastronomy par excellence. We recommend you leave a room to make sure you thoroughly enjoy the a la carte menu, which isn’t short of choices either. The dessert selection was also extensive with a number of eye-catching sweet treats including freshly prepared crepes and pancakes and a variety of pastries, cakes, flan and more. Our favorite, however, was Mango and Vanilla Pannacotta. The humble Pannacotta fused with the juicy mango was delicious and left a lingering hint of zesty cravings in your mouth. Pastry Chef Socrathen Nair knows well how to play with flavors and work his way into creating delectable sweet treats. The restaurant also offers a dedicated section for the kids during the Friday brunch. With a separate menu, bouncy castle, movie station and cotton candy making machine guarantees to keep the kids busy and entertained at the same time.If we were, to sum up, our experience at Legends, it wouldn’t need many words and adjectives. It could simply be summed up as the best brunch experience we have had in Dubai. From the convivial restaurant manager Cedric Pereira to the obliging staff members, there’s an immediate sense of ease and comfort which is very warm and welcoming. It offered an experience which was elegantly warm and engaging. The food was beyond our expectation for it had more fine options to choose from than just standard buffet fillers, the ambiance was relaxed exactly what you look for when you search for brunch options anywhere in the world. Last but certainly not the least it is without the doubt offers the best-unadulterated views of the horizon that is otherwise usually marred by the high rises and ongoing constructions. The Legends at the Dubai Creek & Yacht Club is a must try family hangout, which is worth the money you pay.For more check out more on trendingdubai.com
Superb atmosphere just beside the creek and good enough location to relax yourself with nice breeze. Undoubtedly, the steak to enjoy here is nice beyond the description. After tasting nice steak why not go to Cielo the bar in front to further chill out. Fine combination of Dubai night after summer.
Golf, pool access and craft beer. It sounds like a manly-mans utopian dream as the brunch ticks some insanely cool boxes. What it also offered was a semi-cruel tease by providing the stunning backdrop of the Dubai Creek Golf Club, with the sweltering summer heat confining us indoors. We do see however, that this could be a hit during cooler months, or even in the heat by taking advantage of a pre or post brunch dip in the pool.
