So we were actually staying in the hotel and access to dinner & brekki! What a lovely meal we had. Tanuj eats non veg so he wasn’t very happy with the kebabs, but I am a vegetarian thoroughly enjoyed my meal! The date pudding was to die for, which I actually over ate and gave a hard time to my tummy 😂 but it’s okay life is short and I believe Eat The Dessert :D I especially want to mention the names- Hazem, Jona& Haitam how kind and generous these people were to make our food experience so warm & memorable with their service! Thank you guys! The staycation was also Fab if anyone is looking for a break I highly recommend xx

Event : Oktoberfest in Grand Hyatt
Price : Aed 150 per person (pre booking needed)

Atmosphere / Ambience: high energy, German band from Munich, Big spread of German delicacy and dancing on benches.

The tent was massive and totally packed. We were few tables away from the entrance which had its advantage of easy walk through to the dessert section and mains as well as salads but the not so great was the humidity and heat outside kept seeping in through open doors. We constantly had to walk through to the other side of the tent to stand in front of the air con blast to cool ourselves after dancing on benches ofcourse 🤪 but hey we were closer to the band and that’s super fun.

Food review: Pork lovers this is exactly the place you need to be. From Pork knuckles, Suckling pig, to Pork sausages, German Including the Nürnberger Rostbratwürstchen (yumm)

There were fish, chicken, lamb chops, veal schnitzel etc. but living in gulf countries Pork lovers go straight to Pork section first and once you fill up your plate then there is no room for other meats unless you come for seconds.

The salad and dessert section was inside the tent while the mains were beautifully and decoratively laid outside.
Spacious settings for the food including the pretzels and German bread section.

Drinks : when your in Oktoberfest mode you got to have German beer 🍺 in Stein (massive 1 litre glass)

Music - I’ve been a regular for the last 4 years and last year went 3 times and the thing that kept me going is not the beer or the food alone but the Munich band - they ensure you dance the whole night away. With old German classics and for those of us non German expats - they sing ABBA, and old classics which have the crowd singing along.

Service : each table has an assigned helper / server and you ought to give it to these guys - they are prompt and quick and carry numerous Steins together - phew. Fantastic service.

What can be improved - I know it’s allowed in Dubai for people to smoke indoors. Our clothes, hair and throats tell a tale of passive smoking and for that reason we don’t intend to do this every weekend of October. If only indoor smoking was not allowed we would be going every weekend to enjoy the food and music.

The Market Cafe had a lot of variety and many different cuisines. Everything was delicious. One of my favourites was the Pizza. It was made fresh to order. The Indian food was great and had a homey touch to it. There was also a lot of options in deserts. The ambiance was also very nice. It was a great experience to enjoy few drinks with wow food.

The Collective is located in the atrium of Grand Hyatt Dubai , giving an outdoor feel while sitting inside , which is so good for the weather of Dubai . I think its an all day self service restaurant with a card system so you only pay for what you eat . Mostly the dishes are Italian and Arabic and offer a reasonable rate unless it's a weekend . The live cooking stations are fun to watch preparing your order and overall its a very good experience.

This was a surprise birthday dinner organized by my darling husband as he knows this restaurant is one of my most favorite restaurant. I have been here more than 10 times now. Always love their food, ambience, service. As it was a Friday the restaurant was over booked but we still got special service because of the special occasion:). Some of the dishes were cancelled but the Restaurant Manager Vinodh, who was so kind and provided us such great service, arranged a special bbq platter for us with tiger prawns, kebabs, beef steaks and salmon. By the way we got 2 of those mouth watering platters. Our server (totally forgot her name) was so patient and polite especially with the kids. The buffet of The Collective is so wide that it gets difficult to decide what to eat. We enjoyed their salads, pasta, fresh pizza, lebanese counter and desserts of course. The best part of this buffet is that you also get unlimited hot beverages be it green tea, americano, cappuccino or hot chocolate. I totally loved their fresh orange juice, lost count to how many times I had that.
The service provided by the Manager, Chefs and Servers was outstanding.
Will surely be celebrating my next birthday here again😉
P.S. Also got a divine cheesecake as complimentary from the Restaurant.

Our check in got delayed and we were offered complementary snacks along with drinks at Market Café.
Absolutely no complaints as this was the perfect place to kill time. Great ambience and even better food!

We ordered the tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, black forest pastry, some cold coffee while the kids enjoyed ice cream. I also enjoyed some quick bites - bruschetta loaded with cheese and labneh, cookies, chicken burger bites and others satisfying my sweet tooth.

A wait with no regrets!

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt this summer and it was the first time in Dubai that we didn’t stay at a beach hotel... waking up to rush down to breakfast each day was the spark of each day!
You just have to meet Amro, the super efficient and friendly Manager! As busy as it was for breakfast, he and the staff worked so hard and efficiently to ensure a great start to the day! Amro is very attentive and did his best to make sure you were taken care of. Our family felt well looked after and have to say that this was one of the places that truly made our hotel experience so memorable.

I absolutely loved the entire experience there.
The food has various options too, from Indian to Local to Japanese cuisines, there is something here for all!
I would have loved it more if they expanded their grill section, coz it can get a little rushy at times.

The desserts are really thoughtful and delicious!

Just loved the ambience! Went for a lunch buffet. The spread was pretty lavish. For vegetarians, the veggie salads were well presented as well as tasted great! The babaghanoush & the chickpea hummus were very well made. Would have liked some eggless breads with it! The paneer & mixed veg dishes could have tasted better.
The desserts were the best part of the buffet! The Gulab jamoons were juicy, perfectly sweet & great size! Could have had some vanilla ice cream to have made it a perfect combination. The rasmalai was also very good. So glad to have had eggless desserts options!! The mixed fruit jars, muhlabia(hope I got the spelling right) and Kunafa were quite a treat too! There were cheesecakes, cookies, Umali & other options with eggs...so too bad I couldn't try any of them. Could you please add more eggless desserts!

The place is beautiful and unique in its setting. A rainforest type setting with running water ways inside the massive hotel. Enjoy nature in air conditioned comfort. We used to take visiting friends there just to experience the place. The food was ok most of the dishes were tasty. I thought selection wise it was at the low end of the spectrum. They could have had a better variety. But it wasn’t too expensive and reflected the choices available. Would I go there for the food, absolutely not. I will go again for the same reason I always go there - fantastic ambience.

An indoor brunch bringing the nature inside with plants, bridges, a steam with fishes and adding lots of happiness into our lives. I am in love with the ambiance (definitely a place to click pictures). . The Levantine Emporium. There was something for everyone- hot and cold mezza, salad, live pasta station, pizza, and falafels. We quite enjoyed the salad bar but unfortunately, rest of the options didn’t meet our expectations and we moved on to the next section.

This was my very first visit to the Grand Hyatt. If you've never been, The Collective is their all-day dining restaurant in the atrium area next to a lush indoor garden with water features. I loved the ambiance which was very relaxing and calming - there's soft lighting and we were sat right next to the garden and a little stream. The restaurant itself is modern and quirky, with distinct areas to get your food and big chalkboards of quotes dotted around so it doesn't feel like a standard, boring buffet.

I visited on a Thursday for their Turkish night, where they have a good value, all-you-can-eat spread for AED 219 per person including soft drinks or AED 319 with beers and wines. There were the typical stations with salads, starters, breads, hot mains and desserts, but also a number of live cooking stations including Turkish pide, grills and pancakes. Plus someone serving Turkish ice cream! (I think there was also a station with non-Turkish cuisine but as I was only there for the Turkish food, I really can't recall!) The quality of food was very good overall, though as to be expected with any buffet, some items could always be warmer or fresher!

All in all, for the quality, ambiance, selection and value, if you're looking for a buffet to try, this is a very good option!

The Collective has been open in the Grand Hyatt for a few years now and already has a loyal fan base due to their popular themed nights and brunches hosted in their all day dining restaurant. I recently got to experience their Turkish buffet served on a Thursday evening.
Their selection was mind blowing. They had everything from dolmas to pide, kebabs to Turkish delight and even Turkish Tea and Turkish ice cream.
You can roam around the stations and have the chefs freshly cook your meat selections and they constantly had freshly baked goods coming out straight from the ovens. Talk about fresh!
You can help yourself to Drinks or order straight from your table whilst you sit in the lush green surroundings.
It’s super affordable too so is ideal for families and large groups.
I’m interested in trying their other theme nights now although Turkish will be hard to beat!

We happened to be in Dubai and we were planning for a Friday brunch. We decided on this place. And we were truely happy that we did so. The aura , the ambience everything was grand. And to our pleasure the menu was grander. Staff very cordial and helpful. They were paying attention to even smallest of our demands.for example I had read some where that ILLY Coffee company has launched new art coffee cups and Grand Hayatt Dubai has them. So I wished to have coffee in them . So I was served coffee in it.
They had almost all the world cusines. They had african, Indian, labnese, chinese, italian and finest of fine bakeries and ofcourse Greek and Turkish was also there along with Local Arbi dishes. This was a one in million experiences. Food was yummy.baked goods were amazing. They were being baked right in front of you. Their apple pie was the yummiest I had in a long long time. I totally recommend this place to all the avid foodies. This experience should not be missed.

Went for a business (conference) dinner manytimes. The place is centrally located in Dubai in Grand Hyatt. There is always some group bookings are there with them. The food is set up in form of live and readytoeat multicuisine small kitchens. There is choice of Italian, Mediterranean, seafood barbeque and Indian with a huge section for salads and dessert. I liked the Indian section though choices were little but Keemapav and naan options were worth trying. Seafood was freshly prepared with salmon barbeque was tasteful. Salads though many were not that appealing despite my being a huge salad eater😀. Desserts were mainly standard mouse, baked yoghurt, some Arabian and Indian choices. Tiramisu was awesome and gulab jamun not to miss😉. Updated on July 2018 : Breakfast at Collective: One of the most massive spread I have ever seen , with best of the service and ambience is perfect for the day. U have Arabic cusine- don't miss Falafel and Saj. Indian - even Jain section was there for esp Indian vegetarian guests. Continental- Live Egg station, steak and cold cuts. Massive Grill section. Healthy and vegan food available too in many option. Keep some space for desserts- cakes, fruits yogurt with granola and yes fresh waffles and crepes... Have My favourite Masala tea and fresh Leaf Green tea too.😙

I used to be a regular at Market Café located on the ground floor of Grand Hyatt Dubai. And now it has turned into The Collective Dubai with a new look and some great food to offer.  The ambiance is now modern with added details to the earlier set up (new furniture and design). I visited The Collective Dubai for Friday Brunch with my hubby and baby. My kiddo totally loved the place: it has a green indoor tropical garden and he loved to follow the colorful fish in the water bodies while munching on some popcorn. Its a perfect place to dine or brunch as Dubai gets hotter by the day, one gets a feel of an outdoor terrace sitting.

Friday afternoon, buffet craving. Chose this over kitchen 6. Buffet was average. Nothing extraordinary. The ambience is beautiful. Food, not that much.
They have different counters tucked in between congested open kitchens. Salad, Arabic, grills, Indian, waffles/pancakes, juices, open bar, dessert, unassuming Indian were the the different stations to help you explore. Salads were fresh and tasty, shawarma was made fresh and falafel too. Both tasty. Arabic grills were average. Absence of adequate seafood and mutton chops was a tad bit disappointing. Steaks were marinated and precooked in the oven. The guys at the steak counters were very helpful. Good portions of fine cuts comprising of beef, duck and chicken were present. Seafood had whole pomfret, scampi and shrimps. Very average. Didn't touch Indian so don't know.
Dessert here is the steal. Amazing spread. The date pudding is amazing. Waffle counter had fresh waffles and pancakes. Very fresh and very good. Juices were freshly squeezed. Used the entertainer so this buffet became worth it. Would visit again Provided they have a change in menu. We went for the Friday brunch.

It didn’t take too long after the launch of The Collective at Grand Hyatt Dubai to single handedly take over social media for its exquisite decor, artistic cutlery and unique concept. We usually aren’t a fan of buffets for the mere chaos and lack of originality, however The Collective is completely different from the rest. For one, its not technically a “buffet” per se. The idea behind The Collective is that the food should be prepared live and made to order, ensuring premium quality and an active interaction between chefs and the customers, which we loved.Another fact about The Collective that captivated us was the fact that the Head Chef has travelled the world to experience flavors of different regions. He brought the cuisines and dishes that were closest to his heart to The Collective, which added a beautiful personal touch to it.Which in turn, makes The Collective comprise of five distinctive kitchens:

The Salad Bar comprised of a wide selection of salad dishes that are freshly prepared and look vibrant as ever (we feel the colorful aztec bowls has to do with the vibrancy) and if none of the salads interest you (which is next to impossible) there is also a kind gentleman standing at the counter waiting to whip up a salad that blew us away. Make sure to ask for a spicy salad of avocado, cucumber, rocket leaves, baby tomatoes, pomegranate, and couscous. Delicious! The Levant Emporium had a live Arabic mixed grilled station that cooked some juicy kebabs which made our mouths water. The also serve authentic Levantine dishes that are rich in flavor and spice. We loved the “Cheese Shawarma” too which is a toasted kaak topped with melted cheese and honey. Tasted absolutely splendid! The Bombay Café is definitely our favorite among the rest of the counters and was the highlight of our brunch. Focusing mainly on Parsi dishes, the Bombay Café serves Parsi delicacies like the “Dhansak” which is a gravy made with meat and lentils and Mutton Berry Pulav. We also relished the “Kheema Pav” which is minced meat served in a bun, a Bombay delicacy! A healthy option would be the “Patra Ni Machi” which is a steamed fish marinated in green chutney and wrapped in a banana leaf. The Grill Bar would be perfect for meat lovers. The chefs sure know how to perfectly grill shrimp, lobster and fish. But what stood out for us was the Lamb Chops that were cooked brilliantly. There are a selection of sauces and mustards to try too.The fifth counter known as “The Bakery” was our final stop at The Collective brunch. The best part about any meal is dessert, but we’ve noticed that buffets somehow lack in that area. However, the dessert counter at The Collective wasn’t very disappointing other than lack of variety. The Nutella Tap and Sticky Toffee Pudding definitely stood out for us. And the Crepe Station created some of the softest crepes we’ve had.

So decided to visit the collective in Grand Hyatt as a lot has been heard and said about it. I wanted to try out their Friday brunch but due to unexpected change of plans, I made the reservation for the lunch buffet for a laid back Saturday afternoon. The location of this restaurant is really amazing. A beautiful stream of water flows next to the restaurant and it was very soothing to hear the sounds of water flowing in the background. From the managers to the people who served and the chefs who were at the live counter, all were very helpful and courteous. Coming to the main part which is the food, it was good however few items lacked in taste. Firstly, the biryani served at the Indian station was not that great. Although their Dal Makhni was really sumptuous but not the rice speciality. The pizzas served were not that hot and by the time I took them to the table, they did turn cold. I really liked their Arabic section dishes along with the salads. The tangerine was again good, juices were really fresh and they do have an amazing selection of desserts which was the best part of the buffet. I would definitely like to point out one dish that was absolutely amazing and it was Goose Veloute. It was the first time for me to try it but I would love to come back again for that creamy, thick and totally delicious soup.  Also, I would like if they could  put up some South East Asian dishes in their buffet. Although they do have a separate restaurant for the South East Asian dishes, few items would not do any harm. Overall it was a good place for some good food and the price was equally reasonable as well. I would like to try their Friday brunch next time as that is more talked about than their regular lunch and dinner buffets.

The renovated version of the Market Cafe, The Collective boasts of a chic ambience and large open spaces. The old system of swiping a card for each order is gone and now its straight a la carte or buffet.

We went for the Thursday dinner buffet and were pleasantly greeted and escorted to our table. The dining stations were familar with continental, Arabic, American and Indian stations lined up in that order. Now to the food. The pasta was great and the kids loved it. The shawarma was a bit dry but the kebabs were juicy. The burgers were delicious and made to order. One surprise item on the Indian menu was the "patraa ni macchi" the quintessential Parsi weddibg dish. However I gave it a miss since the fish was not pomfret which is like having butter chicken with bones. The dessert counter was well stocked as was the juice station. I liked the green apple juice in particular.

Overall a great experience and wouldn't mind repeating again.

We have visited the restaurant on a Wednesday night which they call Seafood night where you will find several of delicious seafood dishes along in different stations, Levant, Moroccan, Italian and Indian. There is Masalas, Curries, grilled shrimps, stuffed oysters, Shawarma and more and much more of seafood and non seafood dishes.

Previously known as the Market Café, this venue has renovated, re-branded and re-launched as ‘The Collective”. The concept revolves around modern interpretations of Levant, and Indian cuisine, in addition to a grill bar, and bakery. Although the interior design is a much improved upgrade of the previous setting, they are still unable to hide the hotel lobby vibe surrounded by giant artificial plants.

THIS IS A SUMMARIZED REVIEW, FOR A MORE COMPREHENSIVE ONE VISIT STAMPS AND STUBS' ZOMATO/WEBSITE

As has been often said, Brunch is always a good idea and we'd like to add to that by saying Brunch at The Collective on a balmy Friday is a great idea! The spread is HUGE and so you need to pace yourselves and avoid other meals in order to do complete justice to this one! Four stations; the Levantine Emporium, the Grill, the Indian section and the Bakery are what lie in wait for you when you visit the Collective.

You can find the usual suspects, hot and cold mezze in the Levantine section along with some delicious warm delicacies including freshly baked Pides and pizzas, Kebabs and stews in the Tagines. For your seafood, meat, ribs and burgers fix, the Grill is a must visit and you can also sink your teeth into scrumptious vegetable pies to boot! Now for the highlights, the Indian section is not just home to the usual Butter chicken and Biryani dishes but also boasts of, what we'd say is a very rare sighting in Dubai, a PARSI FOOD SECTION! We couldn't get enough of the Keema Pav that the smiling server made for us on the spot or the Patrani Machi (fish garnished with Green chutney and wrapped in a leaf).

The pièce de résistance of this entire meal though had to be THE BAKERY! The delicious aroma of the freshly baked desserts along with how lovely they looked had us visiting that section and gazing at the sweet treats even while we were still eating dinner.  Cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, Indian desserts, Arabic desserts; everything was freshly baked and not only could we not stop eating our way through this section, we even took some goodies home, like the white chocolate Cranberry warm cookies that are a must have when you dine at The Collective.  Guess what, they even have a live crepe station!

The brunch at The Collective was a proper treat to the senses; beautiful dishes with irresistible aromas and even better taste are what you can expect at this lovely restaurant. Combine the food & drink with some great hospitality and you know you've spent your Friday well!

I finally made it to The Collective at the Grand Hyatt for their Wednesday Seafood Night and what a spread. Seafood as far as the eye can see and then some. Plus a few meat, chicken and veggie options for those who like to keep it varied. The set up is cosy and comfortable with low lighting and a variety of seating areas to accommodate a date with a friend or a casual family dinner.
We started off with the salad bar, a mixture of vegetarian and decapod salads. The roasted veg salad and Nicoise were my choices and I enjoyed both. I tried the stuffed calamari rings as well though I liked the filling more than the squid itself which was a little chewy.

Onto the starters station and I loved the seafood pastilla, flaky pastry with a creamy seafood filling. The eggplant, peppers and zucchini dish was tasty too. We then moved onto the Levant station with tagines, Arabic dishes and grills. A selection of marinated seafood, veg and meats are available for grilling and we chose a skewer of shrimps that had great flavour though a bit salty. Saeed behind the counter is very friendly and happy to grill and chat while you wait. Moving on, we tried a little of the salted crusted salmon a little of the salmon pie and some sushi. We enjoyed the pie and the salmon was cooked well, however the sushi albeit fresh, was a tad underwhelming.
There was still so much to try, crabs, lobster, clams as well as the Indian section but we were stuffed with the mains and had just enough space for dessert which was quite impressive. The chocolate basbousa was amazing in taste, the creme brûlée, chocolate mousse and rice pudding were creamy and delicious. We rounded off the evening with a cup of camomile tea and were on our way, happily full and satisfied. Service was excellent...waiters were prompt with cleaning up after us and with bringing us our drinks and cutlery.
The restaurant was rather quiet but I'd be happy to return for a relaxed seafood evening some time in the future.

Once upon a time the Market Café resided here, but that has now given way for The Collective.  We attended the Friday brunch here recently and here’s some advice if you’re planning on dining at this restaurant; you need to have not eaten all day to make good use of the enormous spread. There’s quite a lot to choose from and you are spoilt for choice courtesy of four different segments; the Levantine Emporium, the Grill, the Indian section and the Bakery! With regard to drinks, they have a nice selection of milkshakes, mocktails, Lassi, juices, lemonades, alcoholic drinks, teas and coffees.

it is situated in the Lower lobby of Grand Hyatt Dubai.
Last weekend we stayed there and got the complimentary breakfast for two along with stay. The timing is from 6.30 to 11am.we went around 8am so it wasn't very crowded. They have a large seating arrangement even if it gets crowded.
About the food, they got an awesome variety from around the world .
I loved the Bombay cafe where they were having live kheema pav, samosas, idli, sambar(even though idli and sambar is South Indian😜😜)
The egg station was very vast with scrambled eggs, poached eggs,Spanish omelette, fried egg🍳,egg benedict and what not.
Then there was fried section where there's potatoes, sausage, sautéed wild mushrooms.
Pancakes were also there with our choices of toppings.
🍹🍸Then comes the juices such as antioxidants, mint&lime, healthy juice, grapefruit, dates and smoothie.various types of fresh fruits were also kept aside🍎🍏🍊🍓🍇🍉.
My favorite was the bakery section where there was blue berry pies, madeleines, croissants, strawberry tarts ,donuts and more were prepared when we were seated🍩🍰🍮.
It's a hidden gem right in the middle of the city.Go for it and enjoy.

The Market has been overhauled and The collective has appeared. Two changes stand out. The interiors have seen a drastic change. Now its much more cool and different sections of seating has got different feel with it. Lots of machinery are part of it. Lights are also deemed.
Quality of food has been upgraded to a great extent. The Indian section has got better variety. Lots of grills. Dessert section has probably lesser options compared to before but more fruits. Taste is much better than before.
I wouldn't know the price factor as I have attended a dinner organised by Pharmaceutical companies after medical seminars. I might visit again for similar sessions.
Overall there are some positives compared to the predecessor. They got around 7 cooking stations of different cuisones including turkish, arabic, tandoori, indian etc.

Market theme. Vibrant and lively ambience. Excellent service from beginning to end. High quality food. What more could you ask for :)

Friday is brunch day here. 299 aed for non alcohol and 399 aed for alcohol package. Mostly serving Mediterranean /indian/ american and arabic foods. They say theres iranian cuisine but i didnt see that..only the khoresh pollow ( cranberry rice). Place has been transformed since their renovation a few months ago. Wow what a difference! Love their wooden decor and lighting. Seating arrangement has also be thoughtfully implemented. Their buffet is seemingly smaller in comparison to other buffets I've been to but they make up for that by ensuring all their food is of quality standard. I'm assuming the name of "the collective" is a collection of signature dishes. Each dish served here was sooo good from their mains to their deserts. I like that the buffet isn't too big as there's a tendency of overeating! My favourite was their king prawns. .they grilled it to perfection. They have a wide variety of salads too. I got to say that their foods here are healthy and wholesome..good for all you vege lovers:) They even serve traditional Moroccan tea right to your table. Staff are very attentive and check to see if you require more drinks. They even serve food to your table. Amazing service with a smile. Even more so was when I was seeking for the cheese section but unfortunately they didn't have one..However the manager prepared a cheese board especially for our table. That was super nice and so generous with the serving of cheese and condiments. Furthermore all their deserts was sooo good! Try their pistachio cake and mango icecream. .. too good for words! Even their fruit section includes papaya and passionfruit that is rarely seen in other buffets.

Quality of food and service here is definitely a 5/5
Selection of food is 4/5. Hence my rating for 4.5/5.

Will be back. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thumbs up to the chefs there :)

Tried their Ramadan Iftar buffet, this place had good variety of food and cuisines, having live made burgers in an open buffet isn't something you see in Dubai everyday!
Juices section was rich, not only Ramadan options as many other places. Hot drinks section was great.
Service was prompt and place wasn't packed which is always great for Iftar.

I liked this place and I can recommend it. Will be going again

The makeover of the place is fantastic! "The Market Cafe" is now "The Collective". The new concept is not that much different than the old one but the re-innovation of the place shows that there are innovative people behind it. The place become more classy, and as they say Great food is served by a great people! And it is totally true !
There are live cooking stations; salad bar, grills, turkish pizza, bombay cafe, bakery, and coffee shop. Staff are welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed our experience because of mr.Peter who introduced the concept and made it more memorable.
I went there for Iftar and they serve bothe la cate and buffet. Many yummy options in both food and drinks.

Mesmerized by The Collective. Four food settings consisting of Levant Cuisine, Parsi Cuisine, a grill bar and a boutique bakery. No fixed menu so you can expect something new all the time.

Cozy, surrounded by lovely gardens and ponds...with the most amazing and meticulous visual detail in each station. Open kitchens where you see all the action talking place. And the foooood! Fresh, colorful, tasty, and authentic. Love this resto to the moon and back. Great service. Pictures do not do it justice.

The overall ambience of the restaurant entices you and refreshes your day with greenery and water fountains all over you...

Wow! What a fantastic makeover to the old 'market place'. So a few major changes- the a la carte/ pay for what you eat-drink option is over. Now a flat rate to eat/ drink to ur heart's content. The mains are divided into 3 main areas: levantine, grills and an indian/ iranian fusion. All were delightful. The mains are creative and yet simply tasteful (ie soft shell crabs were fab!). The breads secrion has a lovely fresh-from-the-oven fatayer that can be customized, upon request. The staff was super friendly and pro-active. Absolute favorite was the dessert buffet: the cookies were divine. And the best EVER were the choco-covered almonds dusted in cocoa powder: yum, yum, yum! There is also a massive collection of fresh fruits that many pple might miss, as well as a deep cooler w various juices, to serve yourself. This will be a definite for iftars and mixed groups- as all food preferences cam easily be accommodated. My one disappointment was the meat burger- c'mon: a frozen patty?!? Esp w everything else being so top notch: that was a bit disappointing. Also hope the hotel gets back into the Entertainer for bogo offers!

The people behind The Collective have done a fabulous job of curating mix of local favorites and hidden gems. The people on the floor are even more fab for keeping the show running, true to the spirit and vision of the people behind. Those in the line of fire (manning grills) are pure joy givers, they are deft at turning raw things with eight limbs, or plain chunks of meat into juicy bites in a jiffy. How can you mix Parsi street food and uber cool bakery ? You have to taste The Collective experience to know. Great exhibition of food artistry. Keep it going.

The Collective is an evolution of the Grand Hyatt’s much loved Market Café buffet. Whilst distinctively more modern and upmarket it remains faithful to the original quartet of ‘live’ cooking stations covering a Bakery, Middle Eastern and Indian cuisines, and a Western Grill Bar. This is reflected across all three meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is excellent, highlighted by an all new, super friendly team of ‘assistants’ who look every bit like fitness instructors. It’s not just the look and feel which has changed with the name, the dishes are more creative, quality better. Well done, Hyatt, well done.

A well designed venue that serves an interesting mix of cuisines, from Turkish to Arabic and Indian grills in one spot.

Went for a Saturday brunch and had a wide option of dishes to choose from, we had the meaty burger which comes with sourdough bread, a very interesting take on the bun! Food presentation is appetizing and food is made to order at the stations, it's a good way to keep the food fresh with the right temperature. The grilled tiger prawns with mango salsa had some brilliant flavors! The mixed grills were grilled to perfection

The Turkish pide which is a kind of long dough baked and stuffed with vegetables, I tried them at many other Turkish places but this one was one on the best!

The buffet doesn't have a lot of variety and the service wasn't that great. The restaurant Is divided into 4 sections, Indian, grill, Turkish or Arabic and dessert, where the food is made to your order. We went on a Monday night and unfortunately the restaurant was empty and in some of the stations there was no one to help. They left dry already made items out and there were no good salad options. Everything we tried was tasty, it's such a pity the service was so poor, this place could've been great. From the grill section only the grilled king prawns was good. The Indian section had interesting items that tasted good. The only two sections with good service were the Arabic and dessert stations. We tried grilled chicken skewers that was perfectly spiced and grilled. I was disappointed not to find the Turkish manti or the kashkaval bread. Everything we tried for dessert was delicious, it made up for the disappointing meal. They had a crepe station, superb creme brûlée, chocolate mousse, tapioca pudding and a selection of cakes and tarts. They bake fresh cookies, which smelled yummy. They also had raspberry And coffee ice cream, which we didn't get to try because we were too full. The buffet also included fresh juices that were perfect and a fresh fruit station, but there was no one to help there. For an extra 25 AED you could get a lassi, which we didn't try.

The Collective, situated near the faux greenery and tropical area at The Grand Hyatt is a self-serving concept that sets out five sections featuring the Levant Emporium, The Grill, a Bombay Café, The Bakery, and a little coffeeshop. Warm timber furniture compliments the greenery and the waterfall and makes it a very family friendly atmosphere.

A lot has been written and hyped about this so called ‘innovative’ concept, however, the concept itself was fairly standard. The idea of different buffet sections serving differing cuisines, is similar to many buffets around town (Kitchen 6 comes to mind as an example, but there are a multitude of others to). The key difference here being that each section is perhaps better ‘branded’.

What truly stood out here were the unorthodox dishes served in each section, which went clearly above and beyond standard fare. Starting with the Levant Emporium, the pesto humus, Turkish manti (dumpling with yogurt), Turkish breads with cheese and honey, oysters and freshly made Saaj are items that you don’t necessarily see in the usual “Arabic Cuisine” section (no offense to the shawarma’s and shish tawook’s). Moroccan tagine and grilled skewers were great too!

A fresh take on the “Indian section” was “The Bombay Café” serving Parsi cuisine, bringing a real understated and little-known cuisine back to life. Quintessential Dhansak Curry with rice, Tawa fried fish, spicy- tangy Kheema Pav, Salli Murgh, Berry Pulao which is served at every Parsi wedding and a lot more. Absolute delight! I was glad they have the tikka masala and butter chicken a miss!

The Grill bar had plenty to pick from - soft shell crabs, oysters, red mullet etc. We tried the meaty cheese burger served in a toasted sandwich, and the rump which were pretty average. The fresh grilled prawns and the baked salmon were my favorite picks from this section.

All throughout lunch, while I was enjoying my food, I was also secretly hoping The Bakery section doesn’t disappoint. Desserts are a make or break point for me. And did they surprise me!! Everything from (my favorite) tres leche to a sticky date pudding, a fresh batch of cookies, milk and chocolate jar, vanilla and strawberry cake, luscious cream strawberry ice cream, chocolate baklava, dark chocolate tart, a healthy tapioca and coconut jar and a lot lot more. Trust me on this, there was not a single dessert that I tried which let me down - of course we had our favorites as well! It was evident that an exceptional amount of love, care and detailing went into the bakery section. They also has freshly made crepes. This just did it for me!! It was particularly heartening to see the desserts being baked in front us – fresh!

Fresh fruits, fresh juices, tea coffee, karak chai, milkshakes, lassi etc. are little things that just add that extra glam. Each station has distinct branding and retains its own particular flavor.

Overall, a very family-friendly, hospitable and relaxed brunch experience where the nonconformist food is the highlight. If you lower your expectations around the brunch concept and instead heighten your sense of taste, you will come away very happy!

Most of us ‘Dubai kids’ will remember the Market Cafe in Grand Hyatt, well it is no more. The newly refurbished Collective takes its spot with beautiful interiors, great service and delicious food, and did I mention the jaw dropping dessert counter – it’s a sight not to be missed.

The restaurant consists of 4 sections, all of which could be restaurants on their own, with their own seating style and tableware. Sitting in any of the sections the attention to detail is obvious!

The Collective sports an interestingly different concept, where the menu will never be the same when you dine. Full control is given to the chefs; the daily menu depends on what their mood is or whatever they’re experimenting with.

Drinks from the Beverage Bar: pomegranate peppermint iced tea and a lemon pina colada. They even whip up a mean caramel espresso lassi too :O

Moving onto the food (nothing short of spectacular) from the day we dined. Started off in the Levant Emporium – huge range of fresh salads (favorites being: salad of 2016, mountain tomato salad). The manakeesh and specialty kashkaval cheese honey shawarma were delicious.

The Grill Bar: provides great cuts of meat and roasted vegetables. Kebabs, shish tawook, steak, cheesy and meaty burgers complimented with fries, roasted squash and tangy dips.

The Bombay Cafe with Parsi and Gujrati cuisines, expect to be stuffed with kheema pavs, jardaloo sali margi (chicken with apricots) and patra ni machi (fish enveloped in green chutney and steamed in banana leaves) and much more.

Dessert is a Dubai staple and the Bakery at The Collective doesn’t lack. Massive assortment of cakes (banana, blackberry walnut, coconut etc) gelato (chocolate and mango), Arabic sweets (chocolate baklava/kunafa/basbousa, mamoul etc), sticky date pudding, plum tarts and oh so much more is on offer at the Bakery. They even have a chocolate tap, imagine dunking any dessert of your choice in creamy chocolate! The only hard part is what to choose…

A great dinner buffet for only AED 199 with an a la carte option. Promising a new and different dining experience. #eatlifestories.

My brother only visited this restaurant 2 weeks back and was so excited to take the family for dinner to the collective.

When we reached the hotel I was initially shocked and a little upset about one of my favorite joints - market cafe being replaced with a new restaurant after which the manager himself took us through a mini tour around the concept of the collective.

Hearing everything he had to say, I already had a food coma. From the quality of the food to the presentation and the hospitality we received from the staff my experience at the collective was excellent !

Being a vegetarian I can get very fussy with my food but I had no complains with my meal here... Specially not after the pampering spread of desserts to satisfy this sweet tooth ! ;)

Defiantly a recommendable restaurant...a warning go there with a good appetite !

So I have this amazing friend, she discovers the most amazing places to dine at, so she said we are going to The Collective tonight, I said, tell me where I need to be and I'll be there, its a new place opening up at The Grand Hayat. Now for those of you who don't know The Grand Hayat, is one of the most prestigious hotels in Dubai, its been around for a while, I remember coming staying here always with my Dad, I would always end up eating at the hotel cause he would be away for work. So place has a superb, pool area, and around a dozen places to dine at. Today I want to share with you the next big thing, The Collective, is at the lower ground level, its like a secret garden tucked in away from the hustle bustle of the main lobby, you can hear the fountain water flowing,a dimly lit inclining path way through which you enter the main area of one of the three restaurants, and an amazing bakery that have been brought together in one, so the whole place is pretty magical, their motto is " Eat Life Stories" so believe it or not everything at this place, has a story. The tableware, the decor, the settings.... The amazing thing is there's no fix menu, since the restaurant Head Chef RM, who's also a Vision By Marti,is heading this place and its not just good food, its thoughtful, tasteful food. They offer,a Mediterranean Grill bar, Bombay Cafe that specializes in Parsi Cuisine, Levant Emporium & a very unique Boutique Bakery.
Now it's a food review, so I'll tell you that I couldn't try everything, there's too much things that I wanted to, but I have thing of repeating things, I like in the first place, which restricts me from trying a lot things in one time, but I tend to go back to places I like, and I absolutely loved The Collective and I'll surely be going back...
The very talented Salad Bar guy, made us some fresh greens salad, topped with this amazing cheese and fresh pomegranate.I just loved it, it was fresh and delicious, they do their own breads too, so I tried some fresh pita with paprika hummus, a very nice taste, I was glad they didnt put beetroot to it,like others.Right after the salad bar, which is served in the most prettiest hand painted morrocan bowls. Is the "kashkawal" stand, those of you who aren't familiar, it is a Turkish style pretzel, topped with Akkawi cheese and fresh honey, my fellow foodies, I haven't tasted one this good in Dubai ever, the last was at the Grand Bazar in Turkey itself.
There was Arabic grills, Lamb Tagine and Couscous too! The chicken grill and the lamb kafta were being done fresh, were moist on the inside and the marinate was just perfect. Flavorful stuff !!
So now, next stop was the Mediterranean grill , I tasted the Tiger Prawns, the meat slides off the shell at the touch of your fork, so amazing, the Roast beef, stunning again, there was some grilled crabs too and its all being done infront of you, they've artisan ovens and heavy grills, installed to make things work to perfection, a feast for the eyes too.
Now the Indian corner, had Parsi food, they were also doing fresh Pav ( bread buns ) I tried the Sali Murgh, which was like a Qorma topped with fried thin crisp, served with fresh tawa parathas and also the Kaali Daal, in small portions, I have not such nicely cooked daal in ages. I have had Parsi food earlier,so all I can say is everything was warm, fresh, meat was done well, the daal tasted perfect. So its a hit !!
The drinks were brought to our table, we have a pomegranate drink, and some lemonade, both amazing.
I know the review is long, but I have to tell you about the most important part of the restaurant The Bakery, this place does their own ice cream, serves Gelato, fresh pancakes, crepes, waffles and has a Tropical fresh fruit stand, and a Nutella Fountain !!!!! ( heart skips a beat?) They also have fusion Baklava and a wide array of freshly baked cookies and cakes. Tucked away in a corner were these, amazing chocolate coated almonds, its Swiss chocolate, melts in your mouth and the crunch of the almonds... ooh ! What more do you want to me tell you? The Collective, lives up to its name and repo!
Lastly, there's an ala carte menu, it opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday and a special menu is offered on Friday.

Looking forward to running into you guys at The Collective.

(A Vegetarians Point of view)

I have been for several brunches, lunches and dinners to market cafe. The Collective has taken over a rather tough challenge to match the reputation that market cafe had gained over the years and was definitely a spot that I personally loved.

They've redone the place really well, the service area has been increased too. Unlike the previous card concept, you now chose between a buffet or á La Carte. Looking through the enticing live stations my choice without any form of hesitation was to explore the buffet.

Comprising of four different concepts, you've got The Bombay cafe offering Parsi cuisine, Levant Emporium cooking local and turkish food, The grill specialising in meat, chicken, seafood and lamb and The Bakery presenting the Desserts.

The staff at a restaurant play a major role in the overall experience. Everyone over here were extremely hospitable in nature. Amro who is the assistant manager first took us around and explained the entire concept giving us an inside on the dishes. Even the chefs at the live stations would have a conversation with you and would do anything in their capability to produce a product meeting any specific taste that you prefer.

All the dishes being offered excelled in terms of quality and especially the freshness of the ingredients. Being the glutton that i am, i managed to try a bit of everything that they had to offer in vegetarian. The meal overall was fantastic and some dishes certainly need a special mention.

The sweet potato salad with feta and pomegranate drizzled with lemon olive oil was a perfect start to the meal.

The Paprika hummus retained the perfect spice level and was accompanied with freshly made pita

The Kashkawa live station which is a turkish bread with akkaawi cheese and fresh honey that is specially brought in from oman.

They have a burger section offering meat burgers. We asked the chef to cut out the meat and make us a sandwich. There were three ingredients: A heavenly freshly baked soft dough bread, Melting raclette cheese and a hot chilli pepper Harissa sauce. Its been less than 24 hours since i ate that and i am already wanting to go back for more!

This was the first time i tried a Dal Dhansak. It is a Parsi dal made with different lentils and a number of vegetables. Tell the chefs at the indian station to prepare one of their amazing Pavs with butter and have that with the dal. Complete satisfaction.

Theres also a drinks station. All the syrups used for the cocktails are prepared in house using fresh fruits and ingredients. The special for that day was a delicious fruit smoothie and the bar tender made us try an avocado lassi which was pretty unique.

Now before heading to the Desserts give Amro a heads up and tell him to prepare his speciality crepe. Imagine a Nutella crepe with vanilla sauce with fresh berries, almonds, strawberries topped up with fresh hazelnut and mango gelato. Sinfully Delectable!

The only reference i have of taps to restaurants imply to the worlds most widely consumed alcoholic beverage; Beer. Here at The Collective i was amazed to see pure liquid chocolate running from a tap through which you could shower a fresh selection of fruits and pastries!

The Collective truly provides a memorable experience. It has brilliantly stepped into the shoes of an ever loved dubai favourite, i definitely will miss the Pasta that was made at market cafe but apart from that i was truly delighted by this eatery.

A special mention once again to the staff, if i had to give anyone an example of the saying "love what you do" it would be the workforce over here. Amro has already given me a heads up on their introduction of some more vegetarian dishes and I'm just counting down days to go try what they'll come up with.

Heres a brilliant new restaurant added to Dubai's vast dining scene.
