Sky was the limit. AWSOME place, deliciously menu, beautiful ambience, lovely people, Congratulations to each and every staffs..
Very relaxing environment, friendly service and great food. A wonderful place for visitors to experience local culture and cuisine.
The owner and staff were extremely friendly! Loved the ambience!
Great ambience. Great Service. Great food. Went back for more and more.
Excellent Customer Service. Would visit again.
I went in for some Shawarma and some tea with a friend of mine and this place turned out to be so excellent and so lovely really had a wonderful meal indeed!
More than anything the ambience was so lovely, loved it
We have been here many times. Whenever I have a guest from other countries we made sure to bring them here. It’s authentic arabic food and all the food was delicious and mouthwatering. All my guests had an awesome dining experience in an heritage house. The staff were polite and good in recommending what is the best.. @al bait alqadeem
This is like a hidden gem. Its located in the heart of Deira, among trading area - Al Ras. We wanted to relax a bit and so decided to visit this place for a quick eating break.
We didnt try much of their menu items. We had only their Hamoos and Bread. The ambience is very good, compared to the area it is in. The restaurant describes the Emarati Culture and is mainly focused for tourist to give them an understanding about UAE culture and food.
They also have a fast food area near the entrance of the hotel. Waiters are friendly and price is also good
Al Bait is beautiful restaurant close to the Old Souk in Dubai. It comes with an extensive menu and also has some options for the vegetarian and eggetarian.
Ambience: (4/5)
There are 3 different seating options, the outside seating options would be great towards the evening, but for a lunch there is a gorgeous closed room with interesting paintings and decor. It really does give a good vibe to the mean.
Food: (5/5)
Ordered two things (1) Chicken Shawarma and (2) The Egg curry with bread. The shawarma was brilliant, I loved how well the chicken was roasted and the pieces we just the right size to ensure that there was a good amount of crunch and yet not overly crispy. The pickled vegetables were also great in comparison to some of my previous experiences. The egg curry was perhaps the highlight to the mean. The bread serviced could have easily satisfied 2 people. But the curry was made like a typical Kerala style egg curry. It had a good portion of garam masala and a right amount of tangy-ness to it. Making it a perfect dish in terms of flavour.
Summary: (5/5)
All in all an excellent option for great food with a good ambience. Highly recommend this place in the Old Souk area.
#ChuckLoved the egg curry
Great Food, and good ambience. Service was amazing and the waiter "Ken" if I have heard his name right was extremely patient and polite.
We tried Majboos Fish & Ghobani Meat both the proteins were fresh. The meat was cooked to perfection. Delicious food and Their Karak was a 3/5.
The reason for 4/5 was the Mango Juice could have been better as I felt it the mangoes used were not ripe enough for a juice.
Al Bait Alqadeem is located very close to Al Ras metro and a great place to catch up on your lunch on your way back from Gold Souk. The ambience is amazing with the traditional background and looks very pretty, especially in an open air set-up. Service is quick and Neomi, the lady and the other guys are very courteous with a smile on their faces. Food is good and is served in generous quantity and price points are great. We ordered for Chicken and Mutton Biriyani due to paucity of time...next time will drop in to explore the menu!!! Thanks guys!!!
Beautiful ambience. The outside of the restaurant itself(being a heritage site) welcomes you in with its very authentic Arabian decor. We were served complimentary bread and fish sauce which has a totally unique taste, and a refreshment drink which was pleasant and had a rose essence. We ordered the jesheed which is minced shark meat biryani with saffron rice and it's very generous in quantity. We also ordered a meat stew which is pretty rich in flavour and served with the same saffron rice so I guess I'm not familiar with their concept of biryani or stew but it was tasty nonetheless. The chocolate milkshake, pineapple juice and pomegranate juice were all refreshing enough to wrap up a very heavy and satisfying meal.
The staff are extremely friendly and explain each dish very patiently. Brownie points for the native music and ambience.
A national heritage fused with a new lifestyle delivered through food and ambiance, Al Bait Al Qadeem managed to portray this cultural experience quite well.
From Arabian dishes like their traditionally-spiced Fish Majboos to Iranian’s high-quality Mutton minced Kebabs and India’s recreated famously cooked cuisine, Butter Chicken. Everything did seem to meet it’s mark and the budget is quite reasonable as they also double up on the proportion. The staff was indeed very helpful and It was certainly an over-all thrill being there.
Tasty food. Mix of Iranian, Indian and Arab dishes.
Nice courtyard...a bit kitsch but still pleasant.
The staff was also very friendly and attentive.
A hidden treasure in the old souk area, mostly visited by tourists.
With every order you get a complimentary hot bread with green leaves, olive oil and "mehyawa". Mehyawa is like a fish sauce that you dip your bread in.
Their shirazi salad is a must as its really delicious.
Also tried their mixed grills and they are really soft and tasty.
Liked their old arabic music choices.
The decor is very traditional and their staff are very welcoming with their traditional outfit.
Don't forget to end your meal with a pot of red tea.
Great decoration, very neat, fast service but average food, it's an Iranian restaurant, some friends mentioned about it as an Emirati joint. Anyway, their tandoori naan is really good. Salad shirazi very good, kabab sultani average, stews just ok. Overall not bad.
They serve authentic emirati food that is delicious and classy yet affordable. The food is very nice. I definitely recommend the meat ghobali. The ambience brought me back to the early times.
Well i love places with such decoration.
We acceidently saw it after lunch but we went inside to to have an idea and to drink karak tea and eat sweets.
Karak very good
Karamle very good
Staff so friendly
Service is fast
I will come again to try their main dishes
HUNGRY FOODIE Aka Deepak Garg
+3.5
This is a place just in centre of all ras market it is made in such a manner it looks like more over like a heritage palace, I tried their Laban with mint it was really nice also tried Samosa which was not upto the mark
What a peaceful corner in the midst of the busy downtown deira. I accidentally came across this restaurant iver a year ago and fell in love with it. For those who are looking to experience the true heritage, here it is. The flavours are simple and unique. Th staff are very friendly and well mannered. Tourists who come to the gold souk should never lose such an opportunity to enjoy the ambience. They have nice tea and lovely faloodas too. You can also enjoy dinning in emarati style sitting arrangements. They have preserved the heritage and I loved everything about it hence keep going back. I definitely recommend this place. Enter with little expectation then you will come out with a good impression inshaAllah.
Tucked into a little known place for tourists in Al Ras, is Al Bait AlQadeem a Persian/Arabic restaurant. Clearly this restaurant has been put together with passion and patience. What was originally an old house has been restored with some original materials in order to allow guests to step back in the past. You walk in through the door to be met by very friendly staff and a lovely courtyard. You could easily be unaware of the hustle and bustle of trading that is happening just on the other side of the walls has it has been for generations. I suggests going when you have some time to walk around the restaurant and look at all the old photographs of a time gone by. There is inside seating as well with AC. If you are lucky you may meet the owner who is clearly excited to share his passion and love of food and explain his restoration. The menu is simple but very reasonably priced. My friends and I sampled the meat platter, fish, several different types of rice and salad with dips. It was pure food heaven. Thanks so much for a lovely evening. I will definitely bring back any visitors to Dubai with me...
If you are looking for the authentic experience to end your your. Then you're in the right place. Reasonably priced. A hidden gem with top notch service. Only downside was that we had to shoo flies away. Food was brilliant nonetheless
I walked in to what is actually a decent attempt on the recreation of an old Dubai MehmanSara (guesthouse) and immediately thought – tourist trap, rubbish food. But au contraire, the food was excellent and heavily influenced by the cuisine of Southern Iran.
Starting with the complimentary tray of fresh flat bread, vegetable oil and Mahyawa (a hugely popular, savoury sauce of Portuguese origin, made from dried, saltedAnchovies and widely enjoyed throughout this region) – tear off a piece of bread, dip in oil, dunk in Mahyawa and eat – heaven. And no, it doesn’t taste fishy at all.
We ordered many starters. The Tabboleh and Shirazi Salad were exceptional with the Mast Khiyar (yogurt and cucumber) and Mattabal coming in a close second – all good.
The Bamiyah (ladies fingers or Okra) Stew is possibly the best in Dubai. As is the lamb Ghoboli; the meat tender, flavoursome, juicy and the rice fluffy, fragrant and sprinkled with nuts, sultanas and crispy, fried onions – OMG! I didn’t think much of the grilled fish which isn’t a speciality anyway – our guest just wanted grilled fish, hence the order. I would have ordered any one of the other, far more authentic fish dishes. Next time.
Service is an all-Pilipino affair – accommodating and friendly. While the weather is still cool, take your after-meal (saffron or mint) tea in the inner-courtyard – very nostalgic for people who are from, or who have lived, in this region. This is a gem of a restaurant and most definitely worth a visit, especially if you are in the Al Ras area and fancy a good, authentic regional meal or have out of town guests to entertain. Oh, and don’t let the lack of parking put you off – they have a reasonably priced valet parking service which should not cost you more than AED10 for the duration of your meal – yes!
Deira has got lots of options for really good iranian food. This one adds tk that list. The chicken jujeh kebab was juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked. Will be trying more stuff from here fo shizzle.
Dubais hidden gem..a must try for foodies. Best food from across the persian gulf especially my home town.bandar kong..best mahyaweh and fantastic goboli. If u r dissapointef i am sure u r being choosu
