Must, must visit! I enjoyed almost everything we ordered. The Peking duck was so succulent and perfectly balanced. The beef teriyaki was such a flavour bomb and the meat so tender. Another definite order is the seafood fried rice!
I’m not a big fan of the soft shell crab - it’s a little too fishy for me- but the dressing on it was really good.
Side note - the restaurant staff was really pleasant to interact with. Accommodating, friendly and well versed with the menu.

I absolutely loved the spicy chicken starter and ordered it a few more times. The shredded chicken was amazing as well and they served quite a few accompanying sauces.

The mains were really good as well, king pao and sweet and sour was all great and I loved that they didnt drain anything in a lot of sauce, it very nice and minimalistic seasoned, so exactly my taste.

You can have a seating to match your mood settings.. literally! We sat on the topmost level on the terrace in the non smoking area. We started with Salt & Pepper Prawns and selection of dimsums - Steamed Chicken Siumai, 🦐 Dumpling, and Spring Rolls. The food was so authentic and absolutely lipsmacking! For mains, we had the Braised Organic Chicken with Wild 🍄 in Claypot along with Veg Fried Rice. It was delicious! The cocktails were very well crafted too. The staff is very fiendly. A shout out to Jackie and Darshan who gave us impeccable service 👌🏼
Once you go here once, you'll kind of get addicted to the place 😀 Definitely a worthwhile visit! Sure it's a higher end dining.. but then the experience is super!
very thoughtful and hands on staff who were quick to react to all our needs, we were a large group of women of all ages sitting on the outdoor terrace, all vegetarians with lots of requests including switching the table for the main course due to the sun, all our requests were met. we really enjoyed our time at Maiden Shanghai

We had dumplings, mushroom bun , prawn shrimps , wok a d noodles. They were lovely but the 4 of us on the table felt it was overpriced. Their drinks are also expensive. I wouldnt go back for the price. The ambience is quite nice with the hotel pool view on the terrace. Very chic.
If you want fine Chinese food and excellent service we recommend this restaurant and Gary to wait on you . The view adds to the overall all joy of the experience . You will leave happily satisfied .
Food was excellent, however let down by the pushy staff. Once seated a sommelier arrived at our table to suggest wines that could accompany our meals. We don't drink wine to which we advised we would just have water with the meal. He continued to try and convince us to have wine. Eventually he left. We had wanted a drink on the roof terrace after our meal, the waitress came with us and took us upstairs but we were disappointed in the selection of drinks available. Again very pushy staff trying to get you to have shisha. Just not what we have come to expect in Dubai.

The dim sum brunch was exactly what we read about. There is seating outdoors but the party is indoors. Sara our hostess was the best! We were seated outside and it was getting far too hot plus we felt like we were missing out on the party! She found us a spot inside and checked on us routinely to make sure we were happy. When I asked for one of the Asian looking parasols she found one for me. Best service I’ve experienced in a while. The only reason why I am giving this place 4 stars is the food. There was too much food and were basically full after the appetizers and could barely touch the mains and dessert. A bit of a waste - although We will definitely come back

It was my first time visiting the FIVE on the Palm Jumeirah where I was meeting my friend for lunch. The lobby itself is impressive and the hotel smells like a spa. I’m greeted and shown directions to the hotel’s fine dining Chinese restaurant, Maiden Shanghai. Located on the west wing of the hotel Maiden Shanghai covers two floors plus an outdoor terrace which opens in the evenings. The upstairs is dedicated to private dining available for special events and private functions and vary in sizes. The floor to ceiling glass windows means you get a magnificent sea view.
Good food. Good service. Good ambience. Ask for Ganesh one of the best server at the restaurant. After dinner make sure to visit the penthouse on the top floor
Had an excellent dinner here! The variety of dishes served are very tasty and portions are truly made to fill. The ambiance is very vibrant and the staff are so friendly. Jira the manager made our night special after arranging a surprise anniversary cake paired with champagne and also Afrodita was very helpful and knowledgeable with the dishes. We did enjoy alot the dishes she recommended. Definitely coming back here soon.
Celebrated our anniversary here last night and happy to have chosen this restaurant. The variety of dishes is phenomenal and the staff are so warm and pleasant. Jira the manager was so kind and went out of her way to prepare a special dessert for our celebration and champagne on arrival. Afrodita was so wonderful in recommending dishes and we absolutely loved the choices we ordered. Definitely recommend this place to everyone!
I was curious about Five and restaurants at this hotel. Since Chinese is risky, I was not sure to go and test Maiden Shanghai. But it happened to be that way, thanks God it did. Food was amazing, it made my Thursday nite. I also liked the vibe of the restaurant. I will definitely go back and test some more options from the menu.

Divided into different sections, the restaurant has a main dining area inside, an outdoor setting with a view of the hotel’s pool and a terrace with the bar and lounge providing some of the best views of Dubai Marina and the beach in JBR. We came here during the first few days of Ramadan and surprisingly, it was busy. We roamed around the place before ordering and it was a really nice, well-thought-out and strategically designed restaurant.

Let me start of by saying, Maiden Shanghai is one of the finest Chinese restaurants in Dubai. To be honest there are just a few handful of good Chinese places and this one is a hidden gem.
The hotel Five palm is so so gorgeous, and it houses around 6-7 restaurants. We went here on a Monday evening and to our surprise there was not an empty table.
Started off with some soup - herbed chicken and my husband had the lobster soup. It was light, full of flavour and after having the soup you dint feel all heavy. It was extremely tasty.
Went on to trying the crispy prawn and see bass roll and this was a shocker. Haven’t had something like that anywhere. It was extremely delicious , generous amounts of prawn and sea bass.
Started the mains off with the ever so famous Peking duck - My husbands favorite. Now I’m not very fond of duck but I gave this a shot and ended up eating two pancakes. The duck was crispy and juicy, extremely well cooked to perfection .
We were already quite stuffed, but the manager Mr. Simon insisted we try some of their carbs and seafood. We got the fried rice and flat noodles along with the kung pao prawns and a seafood dish. This seafood dish is with prawns , scallops , grouper fillet and silken tofu in a hot clay pot. It’s one of their specialty, and it truly was.
Mr. Simon was extremely kind and he came by our table a couple of times to ensure we were comfortable. He has a lot of experience in the industry and we had a good chat with him. He even showed us around and the space is huge. The rooftop lounge has a gorgeous view of the marina and the palm.
We will definitely be heading back there to try their Italian restaurant with our family.

I had the best Chinese food in Dubai at Maiden Shanghai, and the service was exceptional.
Heaven Sword: The drink was like a very elegant martini and was well balanced
Fu shi: The drink was a bit sweet for my taste, still it was really well-made
Jade emperor: This is the best drink of the night! It was really creative and delicious!
Poached asparagus: The asparagus was huge and fresh, the sauce complimented it properly and it was really a refreshing dish!
Stir fry loin of lamb: The lamb was so tender and properly seasoned! I really love this dish!
Twice cooked Angus beef: this dish was a bit salty and heavy for me, but to be fair, it was still very nice!
Egg white fried rice and crispy scallop: This fried rice was quite well made and the rice was not over cooked at all (which is not easy)
Chocolate mousse: The dessert was rich in chocolate taste and the whole mousse was really solid

Perfection is one word to describe this place ! The scrumptious food, the extra ordinary service, the beautiful interiors and the attention to detail I should say is marvellous. While I am very particular when giving a rating, there was not a single flaw in this place for it to get anything less than a 5. This place has taken Chinese fine dine to the next level.
The property itself is so beautiful and very deceptive from the outside. I was here on a weekend for lunch and loved the entire experience. We were served by Ganesh who gave some excellent suggestions. We met Chef Deepmita who is extremely talented and does magic with the food.
We were suggested the Genyue and a Chui Liu in the mocktails. The Chui Liu had fresh passion fruit, green tea, elderflower syrup and fresh lemon. The Genyue was a great combination of fresh strawberries, orange and pineapple juice , hibiscus orange blossom and lemon juice. These mocktails looked gorgeous and tasted even better ! Definitely recommended.
We opted for the al-a-carte as there is set menu for lunch as well. In the starters, we called for a Salt and Pepper prawns and a Crispy shredded beef with carrot in Shanghai sauce. I am not a big fan of beef but could not resist this one. I can for sure say that I haven't had better crispy shredded beef ! Being a seafood lover, these prawns were heavenly, fresh with perfect flavour and texture.
We also called for steamed chilean seabass with soya sauces and sichuan pepper oil and you just cannot miss having this. Perfectly steamed seabass in a bed of sauces which only add to the flavour. The seabass was melting in the mouth. This was my absolute favourite from the menu.
In the mains we called for Braised beef with noodles, Egg fried rice and an Organic Kung Pao chicken. Once again, I was extremely delighted with the way the beef was done. It was soft and very well done. With the noodles, the braised beef tasted great. The Kung Pao was mind blowing. It has soft and tender pieces of chicken with cashew nuts in generous numbers. When I place the order, it felt like I was ordering too much however we polished off all the food in no time. The food is light and unlike how Chinese dishes are served elsewhere. It only reflects the superior quality of the ingredients used and the exceptional way the dishes are prepared in.
I asked Ganesh half heartedly if they had any desserts as most places serving Chinese cuisine have just some regular desserts. The desserts served here are mind blowing and give you a total "happy ending". We were served the Passion Fruit custard and a Raspberry Chocolate Mousse Cake that was the special of the day. The mousse cake was served with a scoop of chocolate ice-cream. Chef Deepmita has created a fusion of the desserts to add the Chinese twist to them and has done a great job with it. One bite into the chocolate mousse cake and the next we know is that we have polished it off. It was finger licking tasty. The passion fruit custard is a great fusion and very good as well.
I must admit that I am already looking at going back here.

Honestly I was expecting the food to be much better - what I didn’t like was the fact that most of the things that the servers recommended and were hence ordered by us were quite deep fried. At a decent Chinese restaurant you do expect to find dim sums or more steamed / sautéed options .

It isn’t easy to come across gourmet Chinese restaurants that can present authentic flavors in a palatable way without too much of a compromise.
Maiden’s menu is eclectic. I love their soft MaLa shell crabs, the MaPa tofu and the spicy beef. A great place to visit with friends. Worth getting a table on the terrace for when the weather permits.
We were a group of 8-9 people who dined here last week. Our experience was terrific! The ambience is great - chic setting, tastefully done. The food was incredible. We ordered a variety of dishes including the kung pao chicken, string beans, aubergine in yellow sauce, grouper fish in hot broth, soft shell crab, turnip puffs and a variety of dimsum, rice and noodles. Everything was great. The food was authentic Chinese and everything was presented beautifully. A special mention of the service - our waiter Darshan was excellent and did a fantastic job educating us and taking care of our every need. Highly recommended. Will definitely be going back again soon.
One of the best Chinese meals I have ever had. Nice view and ambiance, nice stuff, the rooftop are breathtaking, I was invited last night by my friend as my birthday treat. I loved the noodles, the dumpling. Emilio was very friendly and gave us his opinion of the best dishes. they offer 4 kinds of Chinese cuisine and as well Thai cuisine. Went here with the family to celebrate a birthday (around 13) and were seated in the lovely private dining room (usually has a minimum price spend but removed as we were a large group)
We ordered a variety of dishes but can speak only to vegetarian dishes
-Salt and Pepper Tofu: lightly fried and very flavorful 4/5
-Turnip Puff: I loved this. Puff was just how it should be done and turnip was cooked delicately giving a very melt in your mouth feeling. (Comes with three pieces) 5/5
-Veggie dumpling: The filling is good, but the dumpling skin itself is very mushy and breaks apart just trying to remove it from the serving plate. (Comes with three pieces) 3/5
-Aubergine: okay, I feel the aubergine at Ramusake is much more flavorful while this tastes very mushy. Other members of our party enjoyed it. I probably wouldn’t order it again 2/5
-Mixed mushrooms: this was alright. Would not order itself but rather It was a good accompaniment to the flat rice vegetable noodles ordered. 3/5
-Flat rice vegetable noodles: As for mains, this was the best dish ordered and we ordered a second as we were all impressed. Typically I’ve seen rice and noodle dishes to be 80/20 with the majority being the carb, but this dish is a good 50/50 between vegetables and noodles and is very flavorful. 5/5
I recommend ordering a black pepper sauce on the side as well and it is very well prepared and you can really taste the freshness and tastes great on top of some of the mixed mushrooms and the noodles too!
The meat eaters seemed very happy and ordered the chili chicken dish thrice! Would recommend the chef to put more chicken and less chili though as our plate was just chili’s when we received it but clearly it was enjoyed as it was ordered 3 times 😛
Would definitely go again as everyone left with happy and full bellies.
As for ladies night, the ambience was great and women had unlimited bubbly that we could bring back to the dining room! They even made mocktails, for those that did not drink alcohol, free of charge!

Being vegetarian, choices are limited in Chinese restraints - but here there is an abundance of choices with very well informed service staff to take you through the menu as well as give suggestions.
We ordered some starters which were so good that we repeated the order for 2 off them.
Turnip puffs - Wow 😮 😋 the crust is just divine and the filling is so beautifully seasoned.
The vegetable dim sum is packed in such a delicate skin , that it just melts in your mouth busting with flavours.
Spring rolls are nice as well.
The vegetarian Hot and sour soup is easily the best Hot and sour I have had for a long time.
Now on to the Mains -
We ordered a nice selection of mains based on recommendations of the head waiter - and every one of the dishes was just amazing in taste and flavours.
Ma Po Tofu was just spot on - the silky tofu blending with the spices that were just right.
The aubergine 🍆 with Yu Xiang sauce was from another world - never know eggplant could taste so nice 👍
The string beans were perfectly cooked and complimented the meal.
The vegetable noodles with the addition of lotus roots instead of mushrooms 🍄 was another winner
All in all the this meal was one of the high points of my dining experience this year
Kudos to the chef and the team @Maiden Shanghai.

This is a pretty decent place. I love their terrace lounge which is on the 3rd floor, very good ambience and music and what beautiful views !! However they only serve drinks and bar snacks here so if you’re looking to have dinner you’ll have to sit on the 2nd floor. You can choose between indoor and outdoor seating. The food is very good and the service is amazing! They’re slightly pricey but if you have an emirates nbd card you can get 20 percent discount, that’s a lot ! I loved their crispy shrimp and Chilean sea bass roll and chilli Chicken. I personally liked the starters much more than the main course. Do try their cocktails they’re very unique. The service is great too, do ask the waiters for recommendations they’d be happy to suggest dishes and drinks as per your taste. Five hotel itself is pretty awesome !

The chef has a superb talent to beautifully present the authentic Chinese cuisines (multiple). We ordered five dishes and none of them failed my expectation (BTW, a Chinese with choosy taste). Some call it 'FIVE' but i sense 'VICEROY' as the luxury of this new hotel on the 'Palm' is just extravagant. Be it the lavish lobby or the enchanting view of Jumeirah your first impression has to be a lasting one. Dining here for a special occasion was indeed the right choice. Considering the service was flamboyant, food was succulent and cocktail drinks were creatively crafted, we were on a joyride. Recommendations: Soup- Hot and Sour; Appetiser: Chilly Chicken, Prawn and Seabass Rolls & Spring Rolls ; Entree: Kung Pao Chicken,Stir fry tiger prawns & Stir fry string beans with preserved vegetables with the best egg fried rice; Beverages: Chinese Cannonball & Fu shi.
Areas of improvement: A lobby ambassador could come in handy. Reservations team needs to update the special occasions as we had to mention twice for the anniversary once on the phone and then at the table. The Chef seems to have a liking for red chilly as part of the presentation but should not overdooooo it.

Finally came across a really well executed and with probably closest to authentic Beijing Chinese cuisine. Excitedly ordered almost through entire menu and despising going into a food coma - enjoyed every bite and wasn't fast enough to take more pictures. Really lovely setting, well paced service, overpriced wines.
On one of my friends suggestion , I checked this place out- Amazing Ambience, decor, so fresh.
Started with cucumber soup with tofu - nice; Since i always wanted to have a crab dish, took a chance to order the king crab and chilled tofu in garlic sauce
in hot starters , spicy and simply delicious!!!. As for the Main Course i went straight for my fav - prawns which was kungpao prawns, followed by Dan dan noodles- which was again pleased me way too much.
Thanks to the lovely service n impressive staff , which made my in all experience really enjoyable.Its a must visit place for chinese food lovers!.Will visit again soon :-)

Mai Den Shanghai is quite modernistic when it come to design and they have great menu options for veggies as well. I always believe that eating out is an experience which involves many aspects viz - menu, ambience, presentation, taste and service. We had great experience on all aspects during our recent visit - we were well assisted by Mike who was quite helpful. Service was superb, order to food on table very quick, not very spicy but some unique options. The family rooms provide awesome views - good to host a private party too with different rooms and options.

the roof top space is just fantastic and the barmen were taken a good care at the second floor. fine dining area at the first floor is great with various private dining options. JUST LOVED IT......
Came for lunch at Maiden Shanghai, and must admit was pleasantly surprised. After disappointing experience at the next door restaurant "the Blvd", this one is so much better. The service was excellent and fast. Menu offers so many yummy cocktails. The food was good, the hot and sour soup was too spicy, but they kindly replaced it with cucumber soup. Loved the lychee cocktail so much! The decor of the place is lovely , they have some private dining rooms upstairs and main area downstairs. Great background music!
The food is excellent, service is great, ambiance is wonderful. Been there 6 times and simply love it
The drinks are very nice, music is very nice. We always go for dinner and at the end, we finish at the bar.
The have excellent variety of wine. Can wait till summer end so we go enjoy it outside with best view in dubai.
Amazing food and great service. We really enjoyed our stay. Will come back. The interior is beautiful with several designed rooms and an amazing rooftop terrace.
The decor is really beautiful and cozy. Service is authentic with many Chinese waiters, food is good, not amazing. Prices are in line with the tone of the restaurant (medium-high)
The ambiance is romantic and the food taste as good and as exciting as it was presented ! My experience was very exciting and i definitely recommend that you try this restaurant.
