This was an amazing experience, a first-class hotel With a great view of the lake the fountains and Borne Khalifa. I had a Lakeview room with a view of the fountains and the light show at Nights. The staff were all very kind and professional. The pool area and the restaurants were fantastic. Mariam at the concierge desk was very kind and helpful, same with the staff at the reception area .i loved the location and everything was walking distance. I was so sad to leave and will definitely go back. 👌👏🙏😁I would even give it 6-7 stars .Highly recommended 👌👌👌👌👌

For the past two years I have been to Ewaan several times, for brunches, birthdays and during Ramadan. Due to being so busy the serving spoons at the stations are always double dipping and food is left open for long periods of time. I really recommend either having more staff monitoring the hygiene and more frequently replacing the dishes so that they’re at appropriate temperatures for eating. I catch a virus every time I go and now I’m sure it’s because of the poor quality of hygiene. Recommend eating at the other 100000000001 restaurants available in Dubai

unfortunately I had a really unpleasant visit at one of your shisha lounges located by the water . The service was terrible. We had to get our own menu, nobody was there to seat us. We had to wait at least 10 minutes to take the order. After the drinks got serviced nobody was checking on us. I tried to wave at one of the three waitress but nobody paid attention. (It was not busy at all) After long time waiting ,I ended up paying in the front.Thats not what I’m expecting under a 5 star hotel / service. Please improve your service or I won’t visit your hotel again. Kind regards

Really good hotel and great staff. I had a fountain view room which was perfect

One of my favs when it comes to authentic Thai cuisine. Great food, service and ambience. Must try is the Thai curry (prawn). Prefer to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Surely will go back again.

The place where I had #thaifood
For the 1st time & fell in love with this cuisine 😍.
.
@thiptaradubai serves authentic thai food & is located right opposite @dubaimall_ overlooking the fountains, which makes the whole dine in experience memorable & lovely.
.
-Fun fact - Thiptara means magic at the water😀.
.
Its a must visit place in downtown.
Totally Recommended💯
.
.
In picture-.
-Tom yum soup.
-Thai green curry.
-Phad thai noodles
-Steamed thai jasmine rice.
-Cheese cake.
-There were crackers in starter which disappeared before taking the picture 😆.
Their service, ambience, food quality & quantity everything is 10/10.
Worth your time & money👍.

Amazing food amazing ambience great service..Thank you Ramesh for taking care of us..

Definitely a nice setting. For the price, the food was only ok. The menus special lobster was rubbery and void of any flavour. Any other fine dining Thai establishment in Dubai would serve up quality food for such pricing. Service needs a lot more work, no management stop-by to give any feedback.

Overall a disappointment.

I celebrated my 2019 birthday here and had several brunches at this place and its always a hit. This is one of the places for authentic Thaj Cuisine. The setting is beautiful and you have the view of the Dubaj Fountain outside the window. Only one comment, not all servers are nice. From our last visit the server of our table was taking time to bring drinks and wasnt accommodating. We felt that he was not happy to serve us. Maybe thus man was having a bad day but he shouldnt let his work get affected by it.
We highly recommend this place for food and ambiance. Great for date night. Brunches are superb.

Food: Excellent. Full of rich flavors and fresh ingredients.
Ambience: Sophisticated Thai with gorgeous view of Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa
Service: very friendly staff and prompt
Price: For fine dining, price is quite reasonable. Entertainer offer also helps.

Excellent food and service. A must visit place in Downtown. The portions are large and servers take extra care to suggest you.

Thiptara is located right opposite Dubai Mall overlooking the fountains and this makes for a great setting. We were there for the Friday set menu lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed setting coupled with great views. The service was leisurely and the food was fresh and tasty. I would particularly recommend the papaya salad, seafood tom yum soup, the chicken green curry and the deep fried crab cakes. Each dish was cooked to perfection and the quantities were generous.
We recommend you to go to this place, particularly in the evenings to enjoy the sights as well as the food. We will definitely go back soon for dinner.

So to begin with, we had visited Thiptara on our anniversary and I must say this is one of the best places (restaurant) I have visited so far. The interiors are absolutely stunning, the view of the fountain and Burj is breathtaking, food was great, one of the best Thai food so far. Service is amazing. Special thanks to Ravi, he made us feel so special. And a big thank you for the complimentary cake.

We were staying at palace downtown for our anniversary week and this place is one of the best place to take your loved one for a special date or a memorable night

Amazing ambience with perfect view of the Burj Khalifa and fountains

Great service and staff very polite and helpful

Romantic atmosphere

Some of the best Thai food you can get in Dubai
We loved every moment we spent at here

Worth the price and best place for a date in Dubai

Ordered a salad n one more appetizer along with a veg main course. Food was good. Great collection of wines too. I wish they had more Vegetarian options. They should add some in their new menu. Also was looking for the famous Thai dessert with coconut milk dint find it on the menu. Was a bit disappointed. This place is worth visit g for it's views, service n food. Yes when u call them they do act pricey and say they r completely booked. But, when u visit them n see it's not busy they do accommodate. I visited on a weekend during dinner n managed to get a place for 3 as walk-in.

I didn’t have a booking I walked in, we were sat in a table in front on the entrance I asked to move to in the corner or outside. I was informed the table outside as a minimum spend of 350dh pp. I requested corner, waitress told me she will check the availability and let me know. A couple walked in and sat behind me and had the same conversation and her reply was the same. She comes back and ignored my request and moves the couple to the corner table. Even though I had asked for it first. Then I spoke to somebody else and moved outside and agreed to pay the extra. Once i sat outside nobody came with the menu we had to wait 10 minutes then I had get the waiters attention.
I didn’t have much of an appetite after but the rest of the food was good. The view of the fountains is really nice. But it’s definitely not worth going there for just for that.
I had also asked for a shawl since it was freezing outside, I didn’t get it for about 20 minutes and I had to ask again.
I ordered a mango sticky rice, that never came once we finished when I asked for the bill the mango sticky rice was on on the bill. If you do go please check your bill at the end.

Overall it was an extremely disappointing experience.
Do not recommend this restaurant to anyone

So we went for the saturday lazy lunch. That ready sounds good as it really is lazy, everything is brought to you by great staff constantly hovering around you, so you don't even have to put any effort into looking for someone, it's really great.

The set menu is decent, but you will have to like it, as the selection is very narrow with basically only 2 separate dishes per course. If you dont like any of them it may be tricky, but judging by the staff I wouldn't be surprised of they offered alternatives off the menu.

Starter

There is soup, deal with it 🤣
However they ask which spice level you like and managed to make it super spicy for us, so thumbs up.

Main course

There is green curry or salted beef tenderloin. We both had the curry, tofu and chicken. It was as good as green curry can be, but honestly it pretty much tastes the same everywhere. Still it was good so thumbs up again.

Dessert

Fruit platter or ice cream, we had both and both was good.

Overall the service was great, atmosphere obviously great right in front of the fountain and food was good. Can't rave about the food as it was not special, however the value for money was very good with a 2 for 1 voucher, so it actually deserves the 5 stars.

Ho

Thank you so much for the amazing service Thiptara. It’s always a pleasure going there. Thanks to Ha Thi and Chef for ensuring we enjoy our food by customizing it as per dietary requirements.
Thai curry with rice was fab!

Great views. Veg food is very much below average

Went for my birthday brunch. Totally worth the 295 DHS. Huge portions, delectable food! The starters papaya salad, sea food salad, avocado salad were all good sized portions! The mains - Black pepper beef, pad Thai , Thai green chicken & sweet & sour chicken all tasted like they have been perfected! The desserts were the usual Thai dessert. (Not a big fan) overall EXCELLENT!

Very fancy thai restaurant in the heart of Dubai. We walked from the mall and it was a bit tricky to find the exact location. Beautiful & romantic setting, right at the corner of the fountain.

Food is absolutely define. Everything we ordered was yummy. Not super spicy like original Thai food, but still very delicious. Fish cake is a must try! Pad Thai was tasty with fluffy egg omelette on top, papaya salad is refreshing and nice too.

Oh and one of the most delicious thing was the complimentary shrimp crisps with curry sauce! Everyone jumped on them!

But somehow this restaurant has so negatives:

One thing I noticed was that many of the dishes were more Chinese than Thai, like the pepper beef tenderloin and steam dumplings. They tasted great, but I would really like them to put more traditional Thai food on the menu.

Also, as it is located next to the fountain, every 15mins or so they have this loud music indoor which goes with the fountain show. The show is beautiful but if you would like to chat with friends, it's a bit annoying to have the music all the time.

Another really big negative for me is that, they only allow us to sit in for 1.5 hr. I find it a bit odd as it is not a usual hospitality I receive in Dubai. We are in a group of 5, I understand they might not have so many big tables, but when we were told to leave at 8pm, the restaurant was not full at all. My friend who came before got the same experience last time when he was only in a small group. I do not understand why.

This makes me think twice, even if I wanna come back for the food. There are so many choices in town and I would not like to be rushed when I have dinners.

I hope they could change these things(music & time restraint). Bear in mind that this is a high end restaurant and food is not cheap, We as diners expect a lot.

Have visited them 4-5 times so far. Very highly rated and a fine dine restaurant, but I really feel they need to up their service levels as there is always a delay in serving food and sometimes I feel they are not staffed well. Considering the brand, I feel a lot can be done. Ofcourse, the view of fountain and Dubai mall from the restaurant is the best thing.

A dinner with a view of the fountains, they are located in the palace downtown hotel. Known for their Thai cusine we stopped for a get-together dinner. The food was good, the place had a nice ambience, keep in mind if you want the view an advance booking would be the way to go! Staff and service were good as always.

A 5 star place with amazing view and food . A must for any visitor and locals too. We have spent many special occasions there . My friend even proposed his wife there cause it’s quite a romantic spot . Book a table in advance and see outside if the weather is good.

Had been here for my birthday in the month of June... and this place is just great, the food was amazing too.!! A peaceful place to spend and I can’t wait to visit again during the winters as they have a great sit out with a beautiful Burj Khalifa and water front view. Enjoyed my night.😊

Spent my birthday here and what an amazing experience it was.
Great views of the Fountain, Fantastic service, Excellent Quality of food and really good portion sizes!
I highly recommend the Panang and Prawn Green Curry! I love this place, definitely going back! USE YOUR ZOMATO GOLD HERE!

This place was on my mind for quite sometime. Finally, we visited the place for dinner last night for a friends birthday celebration.

Glad that we chose this place. Very well done up interiors, entrance and overall good level of service. Surely, visit during winters would be greater fun!!

We ordered for following-
1. Raw papaya salad- amazing and fresh taste. Loved the topping and very fresh. 5/5.
2. Tom yum soup- very nice flavour to the soup. 4/5.
3. Veg dimsums- very fresh, good flavor. 4/5.
4. Veg spring rolls- crispy outer, good filling inside. 4/5.
5. Veg green curry- nice flavour, great spice levels. 5/5.
6. Tofu braised black pepper- good taste. 4/5.
7. Sticky rice.

Kudos to the team for amazing service. Amin was our server and took good care of our all needs and requests. Wi surely visit the place again during winters..

Just the sheer location of the place was a treat for the eyes. I had gone for a brunch there and the view from this place was worth it. This restaurant is one of the fine dinning restaurants at the Palace Downtown Hotel and overlooks the Burj Khalifa.

This place is just right for a nicegathering with friends and family. The ambience is great along with the staff who were quite attentive considering the fact that my partner has a shell fish allergy.

The Thai brunch was quite up to the expectation but they could have more alcoholic options in their menu along with some desserts.. since Thai desserts are actually sumptuous.

All in all I would love return back to this place time and again. It's a 4 for me !
Wine Dine And Play
Thiptara restaurant inside the Palace Hotel one of 6 hotel brands located in downtown Dubai near the Dubai Mall, overlooking views of the Burj Lake, Dubai Fountain, and Burj Khalifa Tower. Thiptara means ‘Magic at the Water,’ a contemporary al fresco dining venue serving Thai cuisine, made up of lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components and a spicy edge. It interplays at least three and up to four or five fundamental taste senses in each dish or the overall meal: sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and spicy. This is my story...

I always use Thiptara restaurant for business, it’s a prime location overlooking the fountain show and burj khalifa , the terrace is you choice, i always choose one of the set menus family style to be shared. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

I took my girlfriend here last Wednesday evening for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. Based in the very flashy upmarket Palace hotel Downtown, Thiptara oozes class with a romantic feel. We sat inside due to the evening humidity being uncomfortable. We still had a window seat with great view of the fountains and burj Khalifa. We decided to go for the set menu which involved around 10 small dishes each to share. We got about half way through and another 3 plates of food came out that we just couldn’t eat as we were so full. The wine list also gave a great variety. We went for a bottle of red Pinot that didn’t disappoint. At the end of the meal they did make a small birthday cake which was a nice touch. Finally after the meal we sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed a couple of delicious well made cocktails. It’s certainly a restaurant we will be returning to.

Food was authentic Thai. The place had a very good view of the world's biggest dancing fountain, entertaining you while you dine. Staff were nice and always paid attention to the table.

Went to Thiptara for a business dinner and since then the place has been on my favourite list. From the welcome you get at reception to the food you are being served, you are in for an exotic experience of flavors and mouthwatering sensations. I highly recommend the place.

Amazing restaurant with great food! Atmosphere was okay, it smelled like bananas.
Pad Thai - 4.5/5
Egg fried rice: 3.5/5
Wok chicken mild spicy: 5/5 super flavorful. We got it less spicy than usual
Duck spring rolls: 2.5/5

Ha Thi was a great server! Definitely would recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere fancy to eat with a view

Food was amazing and tasty 😋. Service and comfort level was very poor. Not idle for families especially with children. Air-conditioned was not working at all and staff even didn't care for apologize the inconvenience. Think twice before going ..

A place where fine dining actually means fine dining. From the polite and welcoming staff, to the ambience to the service to the food. The outdoor seating looks right onto the Dubai fountain and we caught 3 shows which made dinner all the more entertaining. Thankfully summer hasn't set in properly at night so the weather was still quite pleasant.

As far as fine dining is concerned the value for money averaged out as great. For starters we ordered vegetarian spring rolls and crab cakes. A bit on the expensive side given the quantity. For mains we got the stir fried prawns and the chicken curry. The curry tasted great, the chicken well cooked, the spiciness mild as ordered and the kaffir leaves flavor was present but not overpowering. The prawns were absolutely massive, perfectly cooked and delicious. The mango and sweet sticky rice for dessert was a fitting round off. Been to many Thai restaurants in several countries but Thiptara is certainly one of the best. A definite recommend.

I went for a Friday Brunch (Thai) at Thiptara - Palace Downtown Hotel. The hospitality was great! The staff and managers took good care of us. They were quite prompt in service and gave privacy to the guests at the same time.

Ambience - 5/5 they have seating inside and outside. If you sit outside you get the closest view to the Dubai fountain and a good view of Burj Khalifa. We got to witness the fountain ⛲️ thrice during the lunch time.
I wonder the place would look even better during dinner time.
I personally loved their table ware. The choice of glasses and plates was amazing.

Food - For Friday brunch, there are 3 options. Food, food and soft beverage and food with select alcoholic beverages. We chose the last one. The choice of alcoholic beverages was fine. Wine 🍷 variety could have been better. The mocktails were good. I liked chompu which was frequently ordered by other guests as well.
✅ Suggestion - Add a mocktail and a cocktail with coconut water, mint and lime to go with the weather of Dubai.

Choice of salads and appetisers is good. The three types of salads (as shown in the pics) were appetising and flavourful. This was followed by appetisers and the range was again good (chicken satay, crab cake, spring roll and dumpling). This was quite standard.
✅ Suggestion - The 4 types of appetisers are served exactly the same in other top Thai restaurants of Dubai. Bring in some variation to make this place stand apart!
The choice of Tom yum soup 🍲 was good. It had fresh lemon grass, salmon and mushroom.

We were quite full after the appetisers and soup. Skip breakfast and dinner a night before if you coming for brunch at this place ;)

Main course - They serve beef which we skipped. We tried the chicken thai green curry with jasmine rice. Pad thai noodles with egg and prawns.
✅ Suggestion - Main course wasn’t as flavourful as appetisers and salad. All the dishes need more flavour and less ingredients. The taste of lemon grass, coconut and Thai herbs was suppressed by other ingredients - strong in taste. Please work on your main course dishes to make the overall experience better.

Desserts - I personally liked the one served in water chestnut and coconut milk. The other one with sticky rice, mango and coconut cream was okay.

Lastly, as we went there for a small celebration, they got a pastry for us and clicked a picture and gave us as a momentum :) thank you!

Suggestions for visitors
👉 Reserve the table a day before and enquire the menu, table position etc. in detail.
👉 If you have entertainer, use it
The food is exceptional n the service is warm n friendly. The green curry n their soups were lip smacking. My friends had the massammam curry with Beef n loved it! One of the best Thai options in the city. Tap tim krop as a portion size could have been slightly bigger but the taste on its own was enticing! Will def go there again.

Absolutely brilliant food! Hugely recommend their fish in green curry sauce and their asparagus. The service was great and to top it all, the ambience was fab!! Would definitely re-visit!

Dinner and drinks with friends. Been meaning to visit but never got around to it. I enjoyed myself.
We ordered crab cakes, papaya salad with prawns, tempura and mixed dim sum for starters. Particularly liked the papaya salad.
For mains we had green chicken curry, stir fry prawns, crispy fish and a seafood of Thai. The latter two were really good.
The setting is really good. Service was quick and attentive. Will go again for sure.

Last time I dined at Thiptara was in 2016 for a Friday brunch. Visited on the same day after exactly 3 years for dinner. Thiptara now has a huge deck on the Dubai Fountains which gives a better view of the Burj and the show. We got the Chef’s preferred Family style Set menu and the starters started flowing in. We were in for a 12-course menu! Full review in the link below!

Wow - what amazing food and what excellent service from our waiter - Aayush, he provided exceptional service and even brought a cake out to celebrate our engagement. Probably the best service we received during this trip to Dubai. Would highly recommend - chicken satay & duck spring rolls to start, the black beef tenderloin and a must is the Penang. We will certainly be returning!
Veronikasdubai
We booked the restaurant, because it has a lovely setting at the Dubai Fountains. The food is really good, but to be honest I don’t think it’s really fine dining, it could be taken up a notch, just a bit of modernizing is needed with the menu, as it feels like most Thai restaurants. I ordered the grilled fish with green curry and the fish was quite dry. My husband ordered the steamed fish which he said was amazing, also happy with the chicken noodles. For dessert we thought the Nutella spring rolls sounded the best and they were good, but I think a bit too oily taste for me.

Ambience:
very cosy and romantic with nice view.

staff:
very friendly and helpfull

food:
the food was nice (not the best thai restaurant)
portions were a bit too less.

price:
overpriced
We visited Thiptara last Friday for their Taste of Thai Lunch. Using the Entertainer vouchers, we were happy to get such a good deal. My aunt and uncle were visiting Dubai for the first time and I wanted to show off.they also lived in Bangkok for 6 yrs so they know Thai food.

My expectations were really high since it’s supposed to be the top Thai restaurant in Dubai. I also go to their competition in Madinat Jumeirah a lot so I wanted to find out which one is better. Maybe it was because I expected too much but I was disappointed.

Service: we reserved for four adults but we forgot to inform then that my 2 yr old son will be dining with us. We arrived early and infomed the FOH that a child is with us. She frowned and said “so its 5 people and not 4?” She was in a foul mood and started talking to another staff. It was awkward. My aunt and uncle were tourists and it made a bad impression. We agreed to keep the same table since my son was sleeping in the stroller. Did they offer a high chair when my son woke up? NO. Did they even check if he was comfortable? NO. It must have been difficult to accomodate a child but they could at least be nice and friendly.

Nobody bothered to ask if it was our first time. Nobody informed us how the ordering works. At the middle of the meal, a friendly Filipina staff saw us and we had to ask if we can order more or if we have to do with what is served. Ordering extra also took too long and there were only maybe 3 waiters going around. we ordered extra crab cakes which were not served. It’s supposed to be a fine dining restaurant! Among the top ten in dubai! I never expected that I would be embarrassed in front of my guests.

Food: Delicious but common. I expected fireworks. Something inventive and really worthy of a top Thai restaurant. But I was disappointed.

Appetizers: Aside from the crab cake, the chicken satay, veg spring rolls and wontons were nothing out of the ordinary. Yes they added some “caviar” looking things on top of the wontons but I don’t really think that makes the dish better.

Main course: Pad thai, prawns, spicy beef, chicken curry. Again too common. I can order these dishes at little bangkok and may not know the difference.

Dessert: mango sticky rice and water chestnuts in coconut milk.Okay but forgettable.

Ambiance: i imagined looking at Burj Khalifa and the fountain while having lunch. That’s supposed to be the USP of Thiptara. Instead, we got a table inside near the window where we can see the other customers sitting at the balcony. Did we request FOH for another table? As I said she was not accommodating, so how can we even dare?

Yes it was affordable considering the Enterainer voichers but I couldn’t help but wish I took my guests elsewhere. Would I pay full price and come back? Maybe not soon.
The food is amazing. We went for the Friday brunch. Its a set menu that they serve you at your table, note its unlimited. Each course was perfection. The taste was on point, presentation beautiful. I was craving for tom yum soup and was satisfied.
The service however could be a bit better.

Amazing food and ambience. Total winner if you are in for a more fancy treat. Can be also a highlight if you have visitors over, with great views of the fountain and Burj Khalifa. Top class!

Well what to say, having lived in Dubai for 5 years this is one of my favorite restaurants! The food quality is excellent with rich flavors and it’s always consistently impressive. I have my favorites here such as the prawns with cashew nuts. The staff are welcoming engaging and always make one feel comfortable whether I’m alone or with guests. Lora and her dedicated team make this a wonderful respite in the busy city! I have never been disappointed here!

Review based on recent brunch - Taste of Thai
Party of 4

Location: 5/5 - Being inside The Palace Downtown Hotel and having a full view of Burj Khalifa and the main fountain that you are literally “ON the water” - what’s not to like?

Food: 4.5/5 - I am all about Thai food and I’d like to think I know it quite well. Thiptara never came short of expectation.
The sharing platters were to die for what with papaya salad, avocado with sweet chili, mixed seafood salad, plate filled with usual Thai- crab cakes, chicken satay, dim sum and spring rolls.
The main consists of “the favourite” beef tenderloin, chicken curry and sautéed prawns. The pad thai however came out to be a little bit dry than usual.
The soup, tom yum pla, was as expected, very tasty as were the dessert which has always been the highlight of my Thai meal. Sticky rice pudding with sweet ripe yellow mango as well as water chestnut rubies.

Service: 3.5/5 - The first time I visited the place was for a Saturday dinner and I thought the service was without a doubt fantastic. The second time I came was for brunch (very recently) and it was quite different. The service was a tad slow(er) for obvious reason that brunches are always busier. We had to order our drinks two or three times before they actually serve it. Nevertheless, all in all, the staff were very friendly and accommodating to every little request we made.

Cost: 5/5 - Using the Entertainer voucher buy one get one free, on alcohol package, our total bill was AED 740 all inclusive (AED 185/ person)

A beautifully located restuarant with amazing service and taste of food. Picked this restuarant for a celebrstive dinner and believe you me there is no better choice we could have made. Amazing ambiance with some real taste of Thai cuisine. Top it with excellent service and perfect attitude of servers to make the day special!
We sat outside and the view was stunning. The dancing fountains would sure make your heart dance. The service was okay, I would say. Loved the peanut dip with the prawn cracker. Starters, had the crab cake. Couldn’t taste the flesh much. Mains, had red and green thai curry. Most places do serve a side of rice with thai curries but here it was additional. The curries were flavourful indeed. Had the pad thai which was a major let down. Had requested to go slow on the fish sauce as we cant stomach it much but when it came , we were informed it was tamarind sauce. Whatever so, not a fan of this dish. Ended with a slice of cake on house for birthday. Overall worth a visit once.

Amazing place.. Great ambiance.. Superb food.. Perfect location for a quiet date... Wine followed by dinner next to the dancing fountains. This place will never disappoint you be it the food or it’s serene ambiance.

I have been to the restaurant for my 1st anniversary.
We sat outdoor and enjoyed the lovely weather and burj khalifa view.
Food was amazing although expensive. The staff were polite and welcoming. They took a picture of us and kept it in an anniversary card. Such a memorable thing to do!

Thiptara is a romantic restaurant with a view to die for ! So good is the service that it kind of won us over more than the food. The Thai food is good though the portions are quite small. All in all a good experience.

Update September 2019:

Unfortunately the brunch menu & ingredients changed, the selection and quality went down so much!!

The taste of many dishes were bland, starters were substantially reduced in regards to selection, the restaurant clearly economizes in quality of ingredients.

The „dessert“ was a joke - 1 small piece of low-quality standard fruit like melon, lychee etc. Seriously??

Another new policy of the restaurant is the food waste. As portions come in standard size from the kitchen, the management prefers to waste the food already on the table and throws it away instead of giving it to the customer for staff. Not acceptable in 2019 to waste paid-for food!!!

After being guests in Thiptara for a decade, we will not be back anytime soon for both lack of quality and their new „we prefer to waste food“ policy!!

Previous Post 2018:

Amazing & relaxed Friday family brunch at Thiptara.
We headed to Thiptara for their Taste of Thai brunch and had a wonderful time.

The location is one of the best in Dubai with views on Burj Khalifa and the dancing fountains.

The service great and food was wonderful, definitely one of the best Thai places in Dubai.

We will be back very soon!!

A gorgeous setting by the Dubai Mall lake with stunning views on the Burj Khalifa as well as the mesmerizing fountains. We would go this place again and again only for the views. 😍😍
The food was spectacular as was the service. The staff friendly and discreet and very attentive. We tried various items of thr menu and we loved all of it. The level of spice is quite high in the food there and even though we requested medium spicy, it was too much for our palate. When we mentioned this to our server, he immediately took away our dishes and brought us fresh new servings with adjusted spice levels so we could enjoy our food. That was the highlight for us. Amazing service and no fuss.
The price is on the higher end, minimum AED 500-700 for 2 people including drinks. But absolutely worth it for a memorable evening out! Thank you for a great experience Thiptara.💞💞
Went to thiptara for my mothers birthday on dec 6th 2018. I have been to the restaurant 3 times this year so for. This time it was a big dissapointment. Manager introduced a 350pp minimum charge for outdoor seating, extortion much?.
Food was under par compared to the usual. even asked if they changed the chef which they hadn't. Apparently the dubai effect , where restaurants' increase charges or decrease quality.
Tom kha soup, chicken was rubbery, plastic inferior quality chicken. Coconut broth was good but chicken was a let down.
Dimsums lacked flavour, soy sauce was also of inferior quality.
Fish in tamarind sauce used to be the whole fish , now only fillet and tamarind sauce was watered down.
How the prices justify the food quality amazes me.
will not be returning.
a big dissappointment.
It was our wedding anniversary, and the guys at the restaurant, especially Deen made it really special for us. Great food, exceptional views and fantastic service.

A beautiful restaurant with a amazing view...a perfect plan to enjoy a good dining experience while witnessing the dancing fountain and burj khalifa...
for starters v tried the Thod Maan Poo (deep fried crab cake with sweet chilli sauce).
For main course we tried Goong Mung Kurn (stir fried lobster with oyster sauce and pepper sauce)
All were simply incredible.,

No doubt why it is rated as the best Thai restaurant in dubai by the Timeout magazine. Good luck to you find a place there as it requires prior reservation. The place can certainly tingle your taste buds.

Perfect place for a romantic date with an amazing view on the Dubai fountain, or for business dinner.
I ordered Tom Yum soup , which was very good but a bit spicy, and stewed Lamb shank with curry... it s a must try !! Portions are big, so it’s good to share.

The perfect place for a date night. Lovely ambience. The perfect view of the burj and the fountain. Loved the place, loved the ambience. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We did not want to miss the show, so we preferred for the outdoor. For starters we had the crab cakes. It was yum and crispy. For the main course we had the lobster in pepper sauce and also in basil sauce. The lobster was good and spicy. We also had the Gai Phad, which is chicken in oyster and soy sauce. For the drinks we had a bottle of white wine 🍾. They also helped us celebrate our friends birthday with the cake.. It was a really good and enjoyable evening. I also want to thank Don for his service and making us feel comfortable. 😊

The best ever Thai food I’ve ever had !!! The food is to die for !! Thiptara is one the best Thai you can can have in Dubai, Hands down! Went to this place for a set brunch and was amazed by their four course set menu !! Lots and lots of food and you can’t miss any of it ! The starters consisted of four items- a dimsum, satay, spring roll and a fried chicken. The main course had a chicken , prawn and beef item. The Thai green curry was mouthwatering and sumptuous!!! Absolutely loved it! The dessert consisted of coconut cream sticky rice with fresh mango and an item with water chestnuts! The sticky rice was heavenly! There were some mocktails included in the brunch menu. I didn’t find them amazing but overall the food was out of the world.
The pocket pinch for this specific place is definitely high but it’s worth to every bits if you are in love with Thai cuisine. I had a long hearty brunch. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Our table attendant was a lady by the name of ‘Ha Thi’. She was attentive and explained each and every dish.
If you choose to go to Thiptara, take out atleast 3 hours for brunch or dinner. Have a good appetite and get set to have an amazing view of the fountains while you enjoy the food. A booking before hand is recommended.

Always nice to come here. Placed in a very picturesque setting and food always on point. Great place to bring visitors and impress,as you start at the fai bar from where you can see the downtown fountains and then segway into dinner, so you get to make a lovely evening out of it. Lots of Instagram opportunities for those like me.. Haha

Just next to Souk Al Bahar and Dubai Mall.... u can sit on the balcony and enjoy scrumptious delectable Thai curries......
The Tom yum is a no miss and so is the Thai red curry... a small and nice menu with a variety of chicken, duck, lambs and vegetable to suit every pallet... just overlooking the Dubai fountain....

I tried this restaurant last night for the first time. I made a booking online with a note that it was for a birthday dinner, so it would be nice to get a window table inside(if possible, i understand it can not be guaranteed)

We arrived and were escorted to our table. Without asking if the table was ok, or if we would like any specific seating area. It was a table very awkwardly located. almost like sitting in a corridor. We sat down and we got the menu, without any explenation or introduction. The waitress left without saying anything. We were in another area where 2 big group tables were reserved, still empty. and behind us was another table occupied. compared to the other seating area, this one was cold and empty. no ambiance at all.

We looked at the menu for about 10minutes without receiving any pre dinner snacks(prawn crackers as we saw on other tables) After 10min we asked if there was a window table available, because we did not like the location of our table. Straight away we heard no. After asking another time, another waiter found us all of a sudden a window table in the other seating area. He was very nice though, and escorted us there.

When we sat down, the prawn crackers came and we ordered our food. me: chicken noodles and partner had fried seabass with sticky rice as a side dish. The food arrived after maybe 5min, which seemed very weird to me because fresh food is impossible to be prepared that fast.

My chicken noodles were very very sticky and i could count the noodles on my plate. it made me feel very nauseous instantly. did not like it at all. I asked for extra pak choy in the dish and i found two pieces. My partner had the fried seabass. The seabass tasted and smelled like fish. When fish is fresh, and fried, then it should not have a clear fish taste and smell. The rice was in a kind of a bamboo thingy. without explaining they put it on the table. we did not know the rice was in there. It would have been nice if it was explained. when we asked where the rice was that was ordered with the seabass, we got the reply: oh its inside there, and pointed to the bamboo rice holder. Not helping to open it.

We did not finish our food. It was really a shame, because i was recommended to go to this restaurant for its amazing food and service.

I work in a 5 star customer service industry myself, so i know how a proper service is delivered. I also know how tiring it can be, so i never get bothered when the service is not perfect. I understand what they go through on a busy night. It is not easy. But this was really one of the worse customer service experiences i had. The quality of the food was also really bad, especially the fish. We did not even order a dessert and the birthday celebration was kind of ruined.

Maybe we were just unlucky, i dont know.

The decoration and interior was amazing though! I felt like i was in thailand and this definitely gets a 5 star!

Arguably one of the best Thai places in town, Thiptara leaves no stones unturned in impressing anyone dining here!

Mouth watering food, unbelievable fountain views and a super classy ambience creates a wonderful appeal and an experience like none other. Do try their water chestnut and banana tempura. Their red and green curries are simply amazing.

As goes the old saying, you pay for what you get - this place doesn’t come cheap. But in my opinion, it shouldn’t!

Hands down my recommendation for the best Thai restaurant in Dubai, period. 🙏🏼

One of the best and most delicious thai food I ever tried...Delicatesse in each dish from presentations to serving to the taste..Tom yum shrimp soup was one of it's kind..For a romantic nice dinner with great food and a great scene to the dancing fountain..

Brilliant place for special occasions. The Dubai Fountain view is as pretty as the picture shows. It is worth f you are seated outside with the fountain view.We ordered for Beef Striploin Nuer Phad (Beef Sauteed with green peppers and Onions) and Geang Kiew Wan Phak (Grilled Fish in Green curry) with steam rice and some drinks as well.Their portion is pretty decent and the Beef Striploin was one of the best I ever had. Their rice portion is pretty decent too.. Both of us couldn't finish one small bowl of rice. Something to keep in mind - Thai medium spicy is = Indian Zyada(a lot) spicy... Careful while placing your orders. The place deserves a 5 for sure as I have given.

Set in a magical location facing the Dubai Opera, the Fountains and the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa, Thiptara gets immediately ahead of the most Dubai restaurants offering romantic yet eclectic vibe. By the time you pass through the garden tastefully decorated with candles and lights, the expectation of an exotic night reaches its exciting point right in the front of big authentic wooden gate guarded by the resting Buddha. Behind the gate is another little garden filled with traditional aromas mixes with laughter, the heart of Thiptara the Bangkok style Thai restaurant.

“Bar to the left and the restaurant is to the right,” the voice of my hostess was lost in the sounds of music sneaking from the open door to the terrace. My eyes piers into the sudden splash of neon, water and sparkles as the famous fountains rise to the sky. Astonished I still chose to seat inside as pairing humidity with the spicy food leads to gulping icy cold water all night long. I fancied sipping a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

Prior to softly placing menus on the table I was offered a refreshing wet towel scented with jasmine. Survivor of numerous Dubai summers, I’ve learnt to appreciate this gesture and smiled happily knowing I was in good hands. Lucky for me the chef de cuisine, Chef Nguyen Thanh left her kitchen for a few minutes to greet tonight’s guest providing me with a rare opportunity to order what chef recommends. Additionally, it was a real pleasure to meet yet another female chef working at the Palace Downtown. It appeared that her all time favourites included papaya salad, green chicken curry and dishes infused with lemongrass. Chef Nguyen Thanh warned to be realistic picking the spiciness level (not spicy, European spicy or confidently Thai spicy), so I complied.

The papaya salad turned out to be so fresh, sour and crisp with a tingling sweetness of tamarind sauce that I considered repeating. A platter of mixed dumplings rested only for a few seconds on the table surprising my server with the speed of my consumption. “Sooo good,” I mumbled in satisfaction. Tom Yong Goong soup to share was cooked to absolute perfection and I couldn’t wait for the main. With the curries in progress, I picked my Sauvignon and stepped outside to feel the downtown. Well, it’s fancy and very entertaining to observe.

Among my curries, the green chicken curry completely blew me away with its richness, creaminess and lightness at the same time probably achieved by adding coconut milk instead of the cream. I was tempted to inquire the recipe and was told: “Good news, everyone!” Chef Nguyen Thanh conducts cooking classes from time to time. Guess who is in!

My all time favorite restaurant for Thai cravings. Their starters and main course all so so good. Taste buds will never be disappointed. Difficult to choose one particular dish! Only challenge is to get a table. Make reservations much in advance to embark on culinary delight!! Been to this restaurant a zillion times already 😍

With family went there without make the reservation, so wait for 1 hour to get the table. But lucky have one small bar next to the restaurant, so we can have a little drinks to spend the time. Food was ok, not big different with another Thai restaurant, but service was good.

Went to this place over the Eid holidays. The restaurant was not very busy. Ordered appetizers, starters and some main course dishes veg & non veg. Also ordered rice and noodles. Most of the dishes were well prepared and the portion sizes were also decent.

This was my first visit to this famous restaurant . I was impressed with the location overlooking Burj and Fountains . Decor was simple yet warm . Domains were well steamed and duck spring rolls were good . Sea bass and tiger prawns were well cooked and spices . Veg Green curry was the best I had ever .

Been there last night to celebrate my wedding anniversary. The restaurant location is directly overlooking the Dubai mall fountain, booking a table near the glass was a unique experience.Staff are extremely nice and friendly. I don't know what to say about the food except it was really delicious. I specially loved the Goong and the Nuer Phad. We also ordered both soups on the menu and spring rolls they were all delicious. The highlight of the evening was when they got us a small cheese cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This Cake Was Out Of This world I ate it all. They took our picture with an instant camera and while leaving we got a nice card with our picture inside. Place is highly recommended. Will definitely come back.

Fine dining Thai restaurant located at palace hotel facing the dubai fountains! Very beautiful restaurant. Food and service doesn’t fail to impress. Tried the chicken Thai curry with jasmine rice and cod fish in tamarind sauce! Must say the fish was fresh, soft and melts in your mouth and the flavor was perfect in the Thai curry! Prawn cracker and peanut sauce served complimentary!

We went here for Friday brunch/lunch with friends. We had the entertainer voucher so buy one get one free. 370dhs for all you can eat food and alcoholic drinks.
I do love this place in the evening, but I must admit durning the day it does lack atmosphere. The service is good and the food is delicious! drinks choice was a little small but that’s fine as we tend to stick to wine, but if you like your cocktails... only a couple to choose from.
It gets a 4* from me as the food is THE best !
Sorry there are not more pictures, but we just couldn’t resist sampling straight away:)
