After a break due to pandemic, brunch season is back in Dubai. We started our second brunch of this month on last Saturday at West 14th Steakhouse located in Dukes The Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel. I have dined in couple of restaurants in the hotel before, but visited West 14th for the first time. We had to walk quite a distance in the hot sun to reach the venue, wish they had buggy facilities. Apart from that everything was great.
Incredible food but most of all, best staff ever!!! Super friendly and made my friend’s 21st birthday brunch a day to remember. Chef Clive was fantastic and made special accommodations for my vegetarian friend and I. Marlon was an amazing server too! Thank you to the West 14 team.
We were having a staycation at Dukes and had dinner at the steakhouse. It had a great vibe. The outdoor seating has a great view of the pool, beach and Dubai Marina skyline.
We had the chef's special appetizer which was a trio of buffalo chicken wings, cheese sticks and fried shrimps. For mains we had the Rib Eye steak with chips and mac n cheese. The steak was cooked to perfection. Our dessert was a chocolate dome filled with brownie and orange flavoured cream. It was delicious.

We went to west 14th for my husband birthday today, it was wonderful , the place was empty due to the current situation with corona. The restaurant was remarkably clean and hand sanitized everywhere , the staff were super friendly the waiter recommended dishes and explained the menu, the chef greeted us and asked how we liked our meal, the food was really good and reasonably priced but what made the day special was how nice the staff is, they got him a piece of cake and sang happy birthday. We appreciate the effort I recommend visiting this place even in these difficult times they are doing their best for their guests.
We had sirloin steak and tenderloin with asparagus with feta cheese and fries as side dishes and bernaise sauce.

Based on normal dinner experience this is a 5 star restaurant. I deducted one star since I'm basing this review on the friday brunch
Ambience
Classy as ever, amazing view, nice seating and good live music.
Food
This is where actually 2 stars get lost, but the amazing staff made me want to deduct only one. We are in a steak house here, but don't expect any steak for brunch, its buffet only and even on the buffet there is no decent meat.
I tried the brisket, which I didnt like, but could be personal preference. However the entire BBQ station only served cold food, so that was not great.
The rest of the buffet is very good as good as you expect from a brunch in such a venue, even a notch up I'd say as they have amazing food and cool live cooking stations. Still, I'd rather lose a bit of that and have the option of at least one tailor cooked steak per person.
Drinks
Amazing mojito, sangria and wine, but unfortunately no light beer. Anyone who follows me knows that's a big thing for me and a must mention. The disappointment for me personally was that Amstel light was advertised bybthebstaff as I entered and paid, but then there was only normal amstel
Service
Super friendly staff so overall service is amazing, but they make you lay before being seated, which would be OK if they at least had 2 cashier machines. It was a bit of a wait in the sun, so also not super ideal.
Overall highly recomendable as a brunch and a steakhouse (both 5 star), but be aware that you cant have it all. No steak at the brunch...

My husband took me there for my birthday, i really loved this place. Food is delicious we ordered steak, salad, rib eye, and Cesar salad everything was so good.
Love love love their steak! I wish I could go there more often but it burns a hole in my pocket every time. They always get it right. Medium rare is perfectly done. Their mashed potato is also so good. Must try steak lovers!
