Had never ever dissappointed with the flavour, portion and the authenticity of the food on every visit! Simple unpretentious place with good price. The best Indonesian food in Dubai is here. The spicy variety sambals they have are favs of mine. If u love authentic south east asian food. This place should be one of your regular place to go.
For me this is the coziest resto in Dubai especially JLT Branch, Great taste with Authentic indonesian flavour and not forget to mention the portion as well....hahaha...highly recommended !
The best Indonesian food in Dubai. Love the Oxtail Soup, with a lil pinch of the chili paste.... heaven!
Really really good food 🥘 😁
I recommend to all of you to try 😋
Tiap libur kerja pasti mampir ke sini mau yg d JLT & karama!
Stelah makan dsini rasa homesick hilang bgitu saja stelah menyantap menu d betawi cafe 😎😎
It Would be my regular restaurant , The food was great ,great hospitality, And Definetly will go back as soonest as possible
The cure for my homesickness feels like home...yummy food, simple yet clean and tidy place and friendly owner and staff.
The taste of the food is superb !!! Real Indonesian taste 👍🏼
REAL (!!!!!) Indonesian taste
The most enjoyable, delicious and affordable restaurant in Dubai!
It was my first visit and I had soto batawi while my hubby had Nasi PAtang, which is his favorite because he’s a regular. I absolutely LOVE this game lace 👍👍 and our server was an absolute sweetheart.
Great Food, nice ambiance and Best service from PAUL! ☺️
We ordered nasi goreng and the Mie goreng - both of which were very good and accompanied by the prawn crackers. The card machine wasn't working apparently but overall I really liked the food and definitely would come back.
Disappointed that the ZOMATO GOLD offer doesn’t work here on one person, I was told that you can only use the 1 + 1 food offer if we are two people. As for my knowledge it’s buy one and get the other one of an equal amount or less free. Dosnt matter if you are a single person or accompanied.
Step in for the first time on last Sunday and enjoyed mix flavours of Indonesian cuisine.
I ordered for Soto Betawi, Bihun Goreng, Em Campur,
I loved Bihun Goreng noodles, need little more flavours in Soto soup I found bit blend, drink Es Campur was good.
The ambience was bright and colourful.
This is a nice little place serving home style asian food and I loved it. Very homely interiors and the staff are very hospitable. Have been here a couple of times and loved the food. The nasi goring could be better but everything else I've tried has been great including the gado gad and nasi Padang. All around a great experience for Indonesian food lovers.
they had some tasty food here, and comfy place...i guess better than their 2 franchise in other place.used to come here where the owner still used to stay here, but i guess she is never stay here anymore...located in karama with other indonesian restaurant nearby and indonesian shops.not all food is tasty but overall good place to hang out and relax on your weekend
I really enjoyed my visits to the Karama and JLT branch. The food is delicious and filling! I liked their drink with avocado and jackfruit, reminds me of tropical home.
This is where you should come for comfort food cooked like it would be at home. The dining area is basic, and a little hot during the summer, but the food more than compensates for that.
My favorit dish is the spicy oxtail served with a flavorful soup and rice on the side, yum!
Another firm favorit is the thin pandang pancake stuffed with grated coconut and palm sugar - divine!
Finally, their iced ginger drink is made with real ginger and actually tastes like it should!
We had dinner a while ago... the food is very palatable
Soto betawi,sate ayan chicken.dumpling i really love it...we will comeback again soon....☺😉
The first time i try indonesian cuisine, if you don’t count social house which they have some indonesian dishes. I wanted to try betawi after a recommendation, a little simple restaurant. The first thought that came to me when i tasted the food is how similar indonesian cuisine with thai cuisine. the food was amazing honestly.
The food tastes just like home food. It is light, and somewhat tasty. Somewhat tasty because I felt it was lacking flavor but maybe thats because I am not an Indonesian food connoisseur. But the ingredients were clearly fresh and the food tasted pleasant.
Seating could be better. The chairs were quite uncomfortable but other than that love the vibes; its interiors are designed in a unique way so that it does not at all feel like a typical Dubai restaurant. Feels quite quaint and as though youre somewhere in south east Asia; hard to describe.
Me and my Indonesian friend loved to Dine-In here everytime we are craving for Indonesian Dishes.
We love the way they cook the food, taste is amazing, very welcoming place and friendly staff named Paul, Rishna and Milan is always there to serve you with an excellent customer service.
We highly recommend to visit this place and now order here for delivery via Zomato.
Must Visit if your craving for Indonesian Dishes!
#CafeBetawi
Authentic Indonesian flavors, friendly staff. Tasty nasi goreng and an ok tempeh. You should try their seafood nasi goreng though, the rice was fluffy and the seafood was fragrant with Far East Asian herbs.
Been here on my every visit to Dubai, a simple place great food, and a very co operative staff. I love the food here. Only small problem is the card machine did not work and did not tell us in advance, we had to go the ATM get cash then pay. If a tourist is comming and something like this happens, will be quite a problem for them.

I am an explorer of food, my aim is to find the most authentic version of food. However this time I discovered a hidden gem @betawicafedxb. Soto Betawi (Dhs 33) is one of the most authentic Indonesian and #musttry This is a perfect meal if you have flu.

Soto Betawi is a traditional Indonesian soup mainly composed of coconut base with broth, diced beef and vegetables . It is served with steamed rice as it is considered an Indonesian comfort food & always served warm with tender texture.
.
.
Betawis (meaning "people of Batavia" present Jakarta) are an Austronesia ethnic group native to the city of Jakarta and its immediate outskirts. As a thriving port city, the cuisine of Betawi is eclectic as it reflects the foreign culinary traditions that has been influenced the inhabitant of Jakarta. Betawi cuisine is heavily influenced by Peranakan & Malay cuisine, neighboring Sundanese & Javanese cuisine, to some extent Indian, Arabic & European cuisines. Betawi people have several popular cuisines But Soto Betawi is the Traditional Betawi Soup.
🎯Learning not only the food but the culture too

This place was on my list for a while. And we ordered everything. The food was good, its a small little place, true hidden gem in Karama. Service was great. We ordered the fried duck, a curry, oxtail, and the fried fish dough, washed it all down with tea. Fantastic experience!
This is our go to Indonesian food joint for our weekly office lunch. Their mie goreng, nasi goreng, bihun goreng and mie ayam are best picks. However I have eaten almost their entire menu, none of the dishes disappoint. However service might take a bit longer as the dishes taste freshly prepared from scratch
If you are looking for an Indonesian cuisine then this place is perfect for you. The food here is delicious. I like the crackers. Though the place is a bit hard to locate as it has many streets behind park regis. The staffs are very friendly. The place is a bit crowded because it isn’t big enough. Some of the foods here are spicy but you can request them to keep it minimal. It is very affordable and budget friendly.
A small restaurant in karama that serves authentic Indonesian food and has a homely feel to it.
The food isn't fancy but tasted very good.
I loved the mie goreng and the nasi padang.
The bakwan goreng was not so good.
Loved the sambal which is really spicy.
For a detailed review, click Read Full Post below.
Parking is difficult to find, but the food is really good. We had the kway teow, nasi goreng, and bihun goreng. We also had the drinks with jelly and lamb and chicken satay. Wasn't a big fan of the satay but everything else was nice. The chips are chargeable by the way!
Always here for the Nasi Padang and Sup Buntut. Amazing combination! Service was really good as they are all friendly.
To be honest it’s very pricey compared to other Indonesian restaurants in Dubai otherwise 👍🏻
I've never tried authentic Indonesian food before. My first time, and I loved it.
Although Asian food is my fav, it always had consisted of Chinese. I am now glad to add Indonesian cuisine to it!
We started off with Es Teler and Iced Lemon Tea. The iced tea was home made and great however the other drink was delicious. Beyond delicious. With jackfruit and coconut, it was totally made for me!
We then had Mie Goreng, Sate Ayam, and Mpek. I loved Mie Goreng the best.
Will surely try their other locations as well.
As always certain places in #mydubai will make you fall in love with them, the moment you enter, with the warm hospitality & amazing food ... Betawi Restaurant - Fan Club always recommended for Indonesian food, had been on our list for ever & we finally made it for dinner to their #Karama branch, they’ve two others .....
Started off with some in house #icetea with original & ginger fusion tasted amazing, henceforth with the help for our hostess Lisna, started ordering first up was Nasi Goreng, Offcourse cause that’s what we knew of the Cuisine & Mie Goreng also. Both were fresh and came perfectly spiced, we were inquired of our spice levels and treated to perfectly.
Next up was some Sate Ayam or Kambing, this was my favorite, cause I love anything on a stick & that’s not sweet 🤪 so this was with peanut sauce & just what I like.
In house specials, Soto Betawi can be a main course or a soup cause it comes with steamed rice, I wonder if you could have it with noodles would be great either way. 💓
Now the real thing for meat eaters and a absolute delight & must order is the Bakso Sapi, which is meatball soup, comes with fried wontons & some tofu also ... your dose of protein !!!
Ended the meal with some Dadar Gulung, with is pancakes chilled & stuffed with sweet coconut.
Now this place comes with high recommendation for Oriental taste diggers & I love it even more cause it’s pocket friendly & the portions are meant to be shared.
Can’t wait to be back !
I never miss Indonesia whenever I visit this place! I have lots of favorite here, I like their Bakwan, Tahu Isi, Soto Betawi and Sup Buntut Balado. You can feel how traditionally these dishes were prepared in their humble kitchen.
I just feel like the place need a bit of love and more friendly environment. I miss those days having Ahmed check up on me, having a friendly chat and giving recommendations
Nevertheless, Betawi still on my top 10 favorite place to go to. I will always crave for more visits. Terimah Kasih!
This is my first Indonesian food. I never thought that their food will be that good. Definitely authentic Indonesian food as the chef is from Indonesia too. My favorite food that i ate was Pacel Ayam Special grilled (chicken served wth rice fried tofu sayur asam sambal terasi) and soto ayam(chicken or lamb i peanut sauce) their food is very similar to filipino food thats why i fell inlove with their cuisne. I will definitely come back to try other dishes.
A good throwback for those who have lived and travelled to Indonesia the food and service is spot on. A must visit for those who would love to explore the Indonesian cuisine. If you are lucky and love eating Kuih Lapis this is the place to be.
I finally tried this place! I’ve been wanting to go to this place but I’m just not really familiar around the area until friends brought me here. Ordered the grilled chicken platter (Pecel Ayam), love the chicken, it was juicy but I find it a bit small for the price of the dish. The soup that comes with it was amazing, hot and sour taste which I loved. I eat spicy food but for me it’s a bit too spicy. Maybe I could just go easy on the spicy condiment. But overall I enjoyed the experience here!
Would definitely come back or maybe try the one in Metro Station.
Our search for spicy non indian cuisine led us to this tiny place hidden away in a random street in karama.
With our lack of experience with Indonesian food, the staff was happy to help us with their recommendations. We tried Nasi pedand with beef randang, Pecel ayam special,Nasi goreng and Bakso sapi.
The indonesians are very serious with the use of spices and the food can get extremely spicy which was perfect for us.The presentation is very aesthetic eveng though the restaurants ambience is not that great.
They have very limited seating and it could get busy at times so I highly recommended booking in advance.
Recommended.
Good food, but too bad the don’t do delivery anymore. Anyway there are other authentic Indonesian restaurants.
Maybe they will re hire another delivery driver soon.
Been far away from home country, i miss home food, I found authentic indonesian food at Betawi restaurant. The price is worth it. Nice ambience
Authentic Indonesian food. The place may not be big but is definitely recommendable.
I found the menu very fascinating. We ordered some starters and main course which was delicious.
The quantity is good. One main course is enough to serve two. They do take care on the presentation of food as well. Surely a place to visit again.
The Ice Tea is not that great and Parking in this area is a pain.
Best indonesian restaurant! I sooooo love their food and the ambiance of the restaurant... unfortunately me and my husband's all time favorite TAHU ISI is finished...but it's still great!
I ordered Nasi Goreng for delivery. It comes with fish crakers and some side dishes. First time to make an order for a delivery, though i used to dine in with them, service and food still on point. 😀👍
This place has the best Indonesian food I've ever had. Their Nasi Goreng is simply delicious and I try to have this whenever I can. You might want to be careful about the spice level though. I like it spicy but man, Thai chillies pack a punch. Another favourite is the Mie Goreng noodles. Highly recommend!
It’s a hidden gem for those who miss Indonesian food. They have quite a good selection of food and drinks. Coupled with cozy ambience and good servers what can we ask for more. We had mi bakso, Soto betawi, pecel ayam and mi ayam. All food ordered were delicious. We also had es teller, es Bandung and es chendol. Good tasty drinks that are refreshing. They boasts of fruits that are indigenous to the asean region. We also tried the dadar gulung. It was a sweet savoury that sets our dining experience positively. Price is also kind to the pocket so it’s all the more inviting to all.
I come there to eat their soto betawi, siomay. So far - it the best. Their karedok too.
However - i must say, the price comes pricy as compared to other indo restaurants in dubai. Considering the ingredients to cook these menu are now easy to get and mostly available in dubai grocery. The price should come down a bit to be competitive with the market. This may well attract diners to come often not just for when they wanna eat indo food.
Dubai residence is used to international palate hence craving for eating indo food happens when you wanna eat home dishes.
Ambiance is ok - staff friendliness is great. Service speed is as expected.
Excellent and well knowledgeable staff.
The food is a super every time we visit as it shows by the number of Indonesians frequenting the place.
Every dish tried was a hit.
The laksa, Ayam meals and the desserts are to die for
If you have a craving for some delicious soulful Indonesian cuisine, this is the place for you. Restaurant is quaint and has a homely feel. Staff are courteous and service is great. Started with the prawn crackers which are already placed in packets on the table and served with some tasty spicy sauce. Went with their recommendation for the main course of Sop Buntut Balado (Oxtail) and the Beef Nasi Padang which were both delicious. Tried the Es Campur drink and was happy that the fruit and jelly wasn’t too sweet which was perfect to balance the spice. Reasonably priced which was an added plus. Would definitely visit again and try out the other options.
it’s definetely my favourite Indonesian Restaurant. Had my Oxtail Balado and Pecel Ayam along with spicy tempe penyet, and they were so good.
No doubt, I will always come back.
Just wanted to try Indonesian food so walked in! Ambience is cute!! Staff is courteous and food is
Good!! We ordered Nasi Padeng and Pecel Ayem special!! It was good! Would love to go again to try authentic Indonesian food!! Lemon ice tea was good as well!!
My favorite SouthEast Asian Restaurant in Dubai so far! The staff are nice, the ambience is picturesque, and the food is just delicious! Their nasi goreng is to die for plus those lamb skewers and giner tea... keeps me coming for more
nice food and excellent service..... sup iga balado always be my favorite.. success for betawi cafe and hopefully u can open more branches in dubai. love u betawi cafe..
A local friend took me to this restaurant. One of the best food I've tried so far. We ordered 3 dishes and all were really tasty. One needs to have good spice tolerance to enjoy the food.
I’m a hug fan of trying out new cuisines and I’m glad I came here.
We ordered the Soto Betawi, Pece Ayam Special and Nasi Goreng with some ice tea.
The Soto Betawi was deliciously creamy and thick with small chunks of beef and it came along with some steamed rice - you have to get this.
And the Pece Ayam Special was another delicious dish. It came on a bamboo platter which looked really cool. The chicken was grilled to perfection however didn’t like the soup that came with it.
Nasi Goreng however did not meet our expectations. It was dry and the egg that came with it was over cooked. Not ordering this again.
The ice tea doesn’t come with sugar syrup which is upon request.
Price wise it was decent.
Overall, great food and a good experience!
Go to place for indonesian food fix!
The place is small and always packed full of diners.
Soto betawi and sop buntut balado never disappoints everytime!
Enaaaakkkk porsiiii buanyaaaakkk... tempat mudah di jangkau.. karama, emirate tower metro station ama JLT... tapi sayaaanggg muahaaaallll banget menurut saya yg anak kost ini... hehehe
Absolutely favorite place to go eat Indonesian food! As a person who's lived in Indonesia for thirteen years, I dearly miss the food there and Betawi is my fix. It's got a lovely different menu and extremely authentic down to the tehbotol es teh. I keep going back here cuz it's just so great.
The delivery time took so much longer than i expected .
One of my favorite places in Dubai for Indonesian food. A friend of mine introduced me to this place a couple of years back and since then I have been visiting this place regularly. Small place set in a nice surrounding with decent seating space serving great Indonesian food. My favorite is the Nasi Padang with Beef rending, the rending is just amazing. Tender beef with nicely blended ground spices and flavors. Nasi goring is another favorite which we usually order. They will ask you for the spice level. The mild spicy is a safe bet as you go one level up and it is gonna turn out very very spicy. You can ask them for the sambal along but at your own risk. It can make you cry if you cant handle spicy food as it is extremely spicy but also very tempting. Tried a chicken curry last with rice, cant remember the name but it was very good. Satay is decent enough, have eaten better ones. We always order the ice tea pitcher with our meal which is great value and very suitable to toned down the spice levels of the food. They use to have the peanut crackers on the table as accompaniments but they don't do it anymore. It was very good. Is decently priced and staff is quite friendly and accommodating. Don't be too late for dinner as they close quite earlier than other outlets in the neighborhood.

ordered grilled chicken with rice and nasi goreng and it was amazing! didnt expect the food to be so tasty, fresh and authentic! i will order again
So... I have visited the JLT restaurant as well as the one in Karama, I have also ordered home delivery from both. I can say without a doubt that Betawi is one of my favorite restaurants in Dubai! The food is always amazing, super tasty and the service is always great! If you are new to Indonesian cuisine I recommend starting basic with something like Nasi Goreng, a side of Bakwan is also always a winner, but, my all time favorite has got to be the Pecel Ayam (grilled chicken).
I Tried indonesian food first time...it was very tasty more than my expectations...The Indonesian spice Sambhal has added a additional taste in Food.
Real "home made" food that it doesnt taste as dubai plastic food.
Staff really helpful and kind with a genuine smile.
Nasi goreng is a must-tried.
We will definitely go back again
The best Indonesian food in town. A fantastic hole in the wall gem in Karama. The beef rendang is a must for any spicy beef lover. The gravy is so yummy!!!!
I have been to the one in Jlt once which was excellent. This one was tucked away in karama. Yet Easy to find. Again the food at betawi is excellent, so authentic and delicious. The chicken was cooked to pwrfection, the duck was delicious. Love the ice ginger tea. Thanks
Spent birthdays and celebrated friendships in this green room. And why not?! The food is just great! The staff has been consistently friendly and efficient over the yearsssss that we've dined here.
Can't wait to be back!
Very decent food!
Authentic Indonesian food,
good quality,
nice taste and fresh served!!!!
Will come back for sure!!!!
Hope next time can be more faster that will be amazing!!
I ordered a home delivery via the zomato app and I was happy the food arrived on time and hot. I highly recommend the Nasi Padang with Grilled Chicken, it was interesting to put together and every part of the dish, from the curry to the chicken tasted perfect. I was just trying out this resteraunt, but we enjoyed our order so much we will definitely try out more dishes!
Sate Ayam - not so great.
Soto Betawi - super yums.
Mie Ayam - nice
Buntut Balado - nice
Sambal ijo - spicy!
Drinks - ok. They didn't have es teler tho.
Place is popular with limited seating. Staff are kind and friendly. Payment is by cash only, so bring your money.
Been visiting this place since 2013 and for me its plain comfort food, its authentic Indonesian cuisine at its best! Most of the days this place is crowded so you know that they serve great food. The service is quick so no waiting !! Only issue is that they only take cash so dont forget to carry cash when you visiting! This is one place I love coming back to over n over again!
Ordered their famous Nasi Padang and was really satisfied with it. The Beef rendang was a bit hard but the taste was authentic and pure. The best part of the meal was the Spicy Egg and the Gravy they gave along with the rice. it really made me full. Overall a nice experience. Would definitely order again next week.
The best Indonesian food in Dubai. It was great that I had the chance to visit here when I had off day and when I craved for my homeland food.
Genuine Indonesian food ,reasonably priced .such a warm personalized approach from staff who works as a perfect team .
Plz don't expect flashy interiors ,they serve honest food .
I had nasi pedang, pecel ayam special ,dadar gulung, ice tea.
Ice team was jus the same ones u get in Malaysia ,Indonesia.
I loved their food and it's much better than 'Mamak'
Beef in the nasi Padang was cooked so well with full of flavors .
I il definitely go again ☺
A hidden gem in Karama serving authentic Indonesian food for their loyal customers who want a taste of their comfort food. The restaurant has a very homely atmosphere making it an ideal spot for families and friends to spend time together, I would advice making a reservation as they get pretty crowded for dinner. The staff is very friendly and helpful, I'd suggest asking them what to order from the menu if you're confused.
We ordered the Mie Goreng, Pecel Ayam Bakar and Soto Betawi. The Mie Goreng was very flavorful with all the vegetables and shredded chicken, they gave a chili paste on the side to spice it up and it gives a really good kick. The Curry was tasty, went great along with the rice and the beef was cooked well. The chicken had a sweet taste to it but was tender.
Nice little place in the heart of karama which reminded us of Thailand as soon as we walked in because of the ambience (feel, setup and aroma).
The staff are very courteous and the food is quite good.
We tried the Gado Gado which was our favourite, Soyo Betawi ( a traditional style soup with soya and rice cake) and Nasi Pedang ( beef and veg).
Oh yes not to forget we also tried their fried rice chips kept in packs which taste absolutely yum.
Overall a decent place to visit.
Lovely place
Amazing for fresh food
I had the rice with fried egg and it was just amazing
Also came along a local beer
Damn quick service and great lunch pick
My husband and I love the place. One of my favourites is spicy Gado Gado. Mie Ayam was a surprise... An unassuming dish, packed with flavour.
The food is very photogenic , and full of taste, easy on the pocket , good service, its Indonesian and very different from the usual will definately go back.
