(التعليق الأصلي) Brilliant food and ambiance at this new restaurant of the accomplishes Portuguese Chef Jose Avilez in Dubai. The menu is inspired by traditional Portuguese ingredients and dishes but with a twist and the food is perfectly cooked and served with style and flavour. The views and the service was great, we were elegantly served by Andre Silva who made our experience very pleasant. We had a variety of dishes including octopus tempura, prawn rice, grilled sea bass, tuna tartar and tuna salad accompanied by some delicious cocktails. The prices are reasonable given the whole package. Highly recommend.

This Restaurant is a must try at the Mandarin Oriental! Bursting with Portuguese flavours from Chef Jose Avillez. The Restaurant is right by the infinity pool with amazing views of Jumeirah Beach. Piri Piri Chicken was full of spicy goodness, if you happen to like spice. I absolutely 100% recommend. If the weather is cool, have a seat outside on the deck, the views are breathtaking.

I have visited Tasca in January of 2020 and in September 2020. In January for Brunch the service was excellent, all dishes explained in detailed as they were served, the preparation and taste perfect. In September 2020 it seems the chef and waiters have been affected. We were seated at the chefs table. But during our whole dinner no chef came and asked how the food was. Service was spotty at best, food even came out before the drinks, and it was difficult to get the attention to order refills. Now for the expensive tasting menu, it seems almost everything is prepared in advance, don't know for how long it has been waiting since it came out before drinks, with no explanation of what was served. The starters were OK, but not great. Tasteless, in some cases (Tuna Tartar) felt drenched in truffles to cover up missing basic taste. The fish that during our Brunch in January was perfectly seasoned and sized, was now completely bland and small piece of fish thrown on a prefabricated bed of cilantro. There was a missing harmony compared to January. The meat was covered in seasoning and not as perfectly tender as well. To explain the higher price, two desserts are now included, a chocolate ice cream and some kind of cream bomb with crumbs. I prefer the natas. Right now the service and the blandness of the expensive food does make it an OK spot with nice ambiance, but It is not "fine dining" in the spirit of the word. It is a shame that the competence in the kitchen have been so badly affected by the current situation.

First off, the place is beautiful on the inside and one can choose, subject to availability table seating with a view by the window or right where the action in to see your meal get prepared. I found that pretty neat. Their cocktails are tastefully good and they have a variety. Liked the margarita and old fashioned. The gin based were also very tasty. The main meal, we expected more in terms of exciting our taste bud but the food was just okay not too great. The dessert was lovely and presentation was pretty neat! That rose looked as good as it tasted. Lovely. All in all an okay place to visit, I'd recommend cocktails and dessert.

This place In dubai,jumeira Called mandarin oriental is a very nice and fancy place to dine in they have amazing view to the beach and they have a very nice decor and a nice food presentation. We ordered tea,strawberry milkshake and milk cake which was really tasty and delicious but I must say that their dishes are really overpriced for the amount of quantity they serve. But I still would love to visit this beautiful place again and I recommend this place. 🚫drawbacks :- 🔸overpriced for the given quantity 🔸slow service

A Portuguese restaurant with a beautiful setting. It has a lovely seating area overlooking the sea. We visited for drinks and dinner. The waiter was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and the service was great. For starters, we got the tuna tartare, that comes in ice cream cones, the tempura avocado, its small bites of avocado fried with a delicious sauce to dip. For the mains, yes we had two risotto platters and they were both full of flavor. The first one was the lobster risotto, with prawns and the second was a creamy tender veal risotto topped with parmesan cheese. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend it for any date night or a cozy catch up with friends.

We ordered a couple of Mocktails and the seafood platter. We had plenty of staff introducing themselves one called Olga that we never saw again, it’s really not necessary to introduce yourself if you aren’t actually waiting the table, which was a bit confusing. The setting and view is beautiful. Unfortunately the basic service wasn’t there, like we were served the seafood platter without anywhere to put the shells, so we had the shells on the table, which was a right mess. I even asked for a bucket, but was ignored. There were no bowl of water to wipe our hands. When we asked for the bill, I thought they might bring some wet towels or wet wipes, but we got nothing, so walked out with sticky hands. The food and drinks was good, but unfortunately the lack of basic service completely let the whole experience down, even going to a cheap seafood shack you would at least get some wet wipes.

The rare Dinner escape with the wife. Had to be special and it was. The setting is really good overlooking the sea and the pool. Fortunately the weather was nice to sit outside. We started with tempura avocado and beetroot salad- both were tasty with crunch and softness. The dressing on the salad was yummy. Garlic prawns were fresh and the clams were great. Soaked up the gravy with bread. Mains was blue lobster and prawn rice. This was a bit disappointing. Not enough seafood and the rice was too saucy. The beef tenderloin steak was wow. Tender and tasty. And the quail eggs. Perfect! Runny yolk and set whites. Sign of good chef. 😁 Definitely going back as the service was prompt and engaging.

Tasca Brunch The seating on the terrace was lovely, the atmosphere was really nice and pleasant so was the staff! The wines are from Portugal and without being stunning, it was so pleasant to have a decent red compared to the cheap new world wines too many places are serving. The downside: the food. After a great start (small cod and potato tempura and a wagyu roll) the rest did lack of originality nor tastes particularly (meat and fish). We asked several times for a bit more clams, we never received them. The broccolis were stunning and overall, it lacked of variety. I would have loved to see more small bites and more vegetarian dishes too. In summary: bit disappointed by the food, Price/value is decent and we had a very good time. 3.5/5

Entrance to the place is dark and bit dull, view inside is amazing! One side is sea and the other city view...! I’d not rave much about the place nor the cocktails, I’d ordered Atlantico which tasted like mango juice that I had to leave it! Service is good.

Tasca is a beautiful portuguese restaurant in the 5* Mandarin Oriental on Jumeirah. Its staff are friendly and cheerful and the food is absolutely delicious. We went there for dinner, they also host lunches and brunches and they have different menus for those. The restaurant practices a sharing concept which makes it ideal if you want to try all the dishes on the table. We started with the algarve prawns ceviche and tempura avocado, garlic prawns, blue lobster and prawn rice, and piri piri chicken. The latter three left such an impression that i cant wait to go back there again. Quite affordable prices for the fine-dining experience they provide. We dont usually oreder dessert, but we were celebrating a birthday, we tried their olive oil and honey pudding as well the pastel the Nata, I preferred the latter for it's combination of berries and light base and cream.

I love the ambience of this place as well as the service. Our waiter was very helpful and made some good recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the blue lobster with rice! The dessert was nothing special but the main course and appetizers shone.

Came here for a bday. The ambience was super. The appetisers were tiny but the main dishes were big enough to feed the table. It’s a bit pricey but the flavours were great.

Great setting, buzzing ambiance and good food. Be sure to check this place out in the winter, the Mandarin Oriental terrace will not disappoint you. Standout dishes were: avocado tempura, prawn ceviche, cured seabass, garlic prawns, lobster & rice, lamb shank and the hazelnut dessert. Still waiting for a restaurant to nail Octopus. Don’t bother with the other 2 desserts.

We melted hooooot 2- food portion veeery small it mean each person must order 3 dishes 3- what we liked lot avocados tempura, cod cale tempura, garlic prawns 4- we order peri peri chicken (not spicy at sll) but taste exactly like shawarma 5- the only desserts we like pastel de nata 6- price high not cheap at all BTW don’t take a bath b4 u go because smell of restaurant 👎🏻 All of us rated 5.5/10

Great Portuguese food, from a very well known chef in Portugal. Some similar dishes from cafe do teatro, and cantinho do Avilez in Lisbon. Good taste from home. The place is beautiful and the service was great. The luppins humus was delicious

Not many Portuguese restaurants here in Dubai but I finally found a very good place to dine! We tried a range of starters but the tempura avocado stood out along with the garlic prawns. And for the mains don’t leave without eating the blue lobster & prawn rice! Perfect flavors and enjoyed it completely. The only disappointment of the night was the dessert but everything else including the service and ambience was great that I can just about over look the dessert. I look forward to coming back! 5/5

I had a lovely birthday dinner surprise for my friend. The concept of the restaurant is sharing so, the food was more like Tapas. We had a complimentary hummus and bread for starter. We ordered octopus, roasted eggplant, sweet potato, crispy avocado, and chicken strip. For the dessert we had chocolate cone that tasted amazing, and honey pudding which I was not a fan of. We also had the birthday cake which was chocolate mousse with a jam. Everything was amazing from the view to the service to the food quality. Definitely coming again.

A new interesting Portuguese concept open in Dubai. It is located on top level of the new Mandarin Resort. The interior is beautiful made with private section and large terrace a with a pool and sea view. In the evening they have a Dj and the atmosphere there is amazing. I can;t say the same about the food. I’ve try a few of their dishes and the combination between the Portuguese cuisine and modern one I can say isn’t my favorite. The dishes are very small, so if you go there hungry you will need to order much more. One of the dish that I liked was the foie gras. Beautiful place for the atmosphere and the view.

We were a dinner group of 10 people who are all discerning food lovers. We were definitely not disappointed with the food ! The wagyu tartare is some of the best we have ever tasted in Dubai. Also really good is the veal risotto and a quite unforgettable dessert is the Mandarin orange sorbet. The view over the roof deck pool and the ocean is spectacular. The 4* rating would definitely become a 5* if it was not for the service. Some guests had to wait for their food while the rest of us were already halfway through our course and I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that drinks order took quite long. I would also recommend that the staff really get to know the wonderful menu and can advise enthusiastically about the courses. The difference between starter and sharing courses needs to be explained better. Despite the service, the good food and ambiance will have us back there in no time!

Great Ambiance, but limited vegetarian food. I called ahead and told them we were celebrating a birthday and was informed that they would add a greeting and candles to our dessert order. However, even though I reminded them again when I got there, this was not done. This part was disappointing.

We tried Tasca for Mother’s Day celebration. The ambiance is fantastic, service is very good , food was average for me though. A bit disappointed with the food however the place was worth the visit

Good atmosphere and decor, staff very welcoming and caring. Food with nice presentation, good portions and with a “taste of Portugal”. Favorite dishes : “bolhao de pato “clams and prawn and lobster rice. Advice: there’s a space for improvement in the white sangria (very juicy) & you could put a pot with cutlery in the table to avoid bringing cutlery with every plate, as waste in my opinion. A part from that I totally recommend !
