We had Xmas buffet at Dunes cafe. It was a very high quality buffet, everything was super fresh, particularly the seafood, oysters, lobsters, prawns... What a feast! They also had a very wide range of hot dishes, I loved the beef ribs which was so tender and moisted. My family were so satisfied with their desserts, lots of different sweets, good job for the pastry chef! Coffee was nice too:) I had some South Australian white wine to pair with my food which was delicious. We all enjoyed our meal, and the staff were lovely and they sang in a choir like angels! BEST xmas buffet for sure, we would love to come back in the future.

Food is good. Enough selection for a buffet. Not too big so you can enjoy and taste all of it. Live cooking for grill and ramens are good. The soup stock is so flavourful. The japanese section for sushis and sashimis is to visit.
Dunes Café is the all-day-dining restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. Located in the lobby on the right as you enter its décor is very much a continuation of the hotels, and as such, is a very pleasant place to dine. The Dunes buffets and Friday brunches have made quite a name for themselves and are considered one of the better culinary offering on the Sheikh Zayed strip. Benjarong at the Dusit Thani on the opposite side of the highway being the notable other. I was at Dunes to try their breakfast buffet with a friend who was staying at the hotel.
Enjoyed a very nice iftar buffet. Not many main courses but very good quality food. I definitely ate 3 times the cauliflower 65, it was great! Good spot for a group of friends
I love seafood there are amazing varieties #must try.. ambience is good.. Gud service ..i ordered buffet which also includes variety of drinks.....i strongly recommend this place...keep it up guys....

they have variety of food, especially seafood was amazing, desserts and Asia food was perfect.
For non-alcohol package the choice of drinks was limited, only still water and soft drinks available. fresh juice, sparkling water, tea and coffee was not included in package.
An absolute ooh la la experience at breakfast! Gorgeous spread, amazing quality of food, mouth watering preparations! What else could one ask for early in the morning! I was especially very fond of the variety of honey they had!!
Went for the buffet. Good options. Ambiance and decor is nice. This is part of a 5 star hotel so the standard is good. Wide selection of choice in the buffet. The grilled kebabs in particular were very nice. Great dessert selection too.

I had lunch here a couple of times and I've recently tried their Singaporean Food Festival, where Shangri-La brought in Chef Raymond Ying from Singapore to prepare some delicious Singaporean dishes to incorporate in the buffet. For only 150dhs, I found it well worth it as the quality of food was not only authentic but delicious. The service was good and the casual yet professional atmosphere made it suitable for both friendly lunches and business meetings. I enjoyed trying some different dishes from Singapore such as The Laksa, The Chicken Curry, and my personal favorite was The Singapore Chili Crab with Mantou Bread. That dish alone elevated the whole dining experience to a new level. If I was to only eat that dish, without trying anything else from the large buffet, it would have been enough for me as it was perfection!
If you're nearby Shangri-La and looking for a decent buffet for lunch, I suggest you try Dune's Cafe, especially during this Singaporean Food Festival, which unfortunately ends on the 29th of September.
This has to be the best breakfast I have had in dubai. The variety of food and the quality is exceptional. The service is excellent. I cannot fault it. There are so mamy choices for all dietary needs. Ketone friendly. The only sad fact is that we can't eat more of the lovely food on offer 🤣
Dukes cafe it’s more than a restaurant when it comes to selection of cuisine .. been here several time and now it’s preferred place for lunch .... they have some mouth watering dishes (deserts specially) .. live counter where chefs makes the food as per your requirement .. the staff is very friendly and always attentive when it comes to service .. would recommend to have buffet so you can njoy the best cuisine food from Dunes

I loved the experience of dunes cafe. I went for a dinner buffet and the best part was live cooking stations everywhere.. 5 star quality. Very tasty food. Excellent service. I tried different cuisines in one place - Japanese, Thai, Italian and Indian.
Food is superb. The place is small but cozy, and the choices for the buffet is great. Cooking station has good choices: from kababs, steaks, lamb shanks, even sardines.
Prayash was very friendly and made us feel at home. He was even suggesting what food to try

We visited on seafood night and we among the first tables to be seated on that night.
Nice selection of prepared cold and hot seafood including oysters, crab legs, cocktail shrimp, maki, salads, shrimp stuffed fish, vegies, fried wontons, fried shrimps, etc.
The better food is of course the cook to order. We had a mix grill of Zubaidi, seabass, king fish and shrimps. The food was grilled exactly right and the seasoning was very minimal which emphasized the quality and the taste of the ingredients. We also had a large plate of salmon, tuna and spicy tuna sashimi made to order.
The desserts bar had a nice variety that was served with espressos and lattes.
Recommended for the quiet atmosphere and good service as much as the food especially when compared to other buffets where service might become an issue.
The service was quick and attentive, especially with the water and drinks.
I was there along with my colleagues recently for an iftar. All of us completely enjoyed the fare especially the lamb ouzi and other lamb dishes, as well as the grilled dishes. The deserts were sumptuous and they also had a huge selection of salads and pickles as well over a dozen odd varieties of bread. Thumbs up to the service and also the hospitality. The staff are very attentive, prompt, well-trained to take care of guests. Over all a great venue. The quality of food and service definitely was remarkable.

The food in general at Shangrila Dubai is quite amazing and this restaurant never disappoints me. The buffet spread at lunch has variety of items but not a very vast selection, however nearly all the items are extremely flavourful , prepared with authentic ingredients .
Their sushi is one of the best in Dubai (don't know why this place is so under rated ), they also have a great salad station and variety of meat cuts which they can prepare as you like.
Desserts were all delectable and I had a hard time trying to resist !

Dune's Cafe is Shangrila's restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. I attended the lunch buffet and there was a good selection of food but the quality is not there. For example, the mussels tasted like they were just defrosted and they just give you some sauce to dip yourself. If I wanted that, I could have just went to the store to buy some sauce and mussels, there is no need for me to go to a restaurant.
Not a lot of people visit there for lunch so if you get there early enough, it is almost like they made the buffet for you.
While there is a lot of items to select from, they don't put too much effort as I mentioned earlier. There was a scallop and crab dish, well I didn't taste any scallop and the crab was initiation (fake crab meat sticks).
There was an Asian station where they make some noodles soup with a bunch of random ingredients like chicken and shrimp, but there was no flavour to the soup at all, so this goes back to the same as me going to the store and buying the same ingredients and making the same dish myself.
I thought the desserts were the highlights here today because they are presented visually exceptionally well and taste pretty good also.
The desserts were more exciting than the rest of the buffet.
Having said all that I thought the selection and presentation were good so I give them a solid 3.5/5. I think the best night would be their Crab night on Wednesday and Lobster on Thursday.

but for the price paid we wantes to have more variety of dishes. and at the end the stopped refilling some dishes.
having said that . they had some of the best quality deserts. and very good service. i would recommended it to my seafood loving friends!!.

Dunes cafe is situated in the heart of trade centre in shang ri la hotel.. As for the location itself just on the entrance.. A small cozy place where won't believe it has amazing buffet.. they have lobster night on thrusday and crab night on Wednesday..
On crab night the spread was all about crabs..
A Live cooking station for crabs where chef Johnson was cooking pepper crab chilli crab lemon garlic crab and tamarind crab..
Crabs were Devon French crab and blue mud crabs from Sri Lanka.. Good big and fleshy crabs were just too good to be true.. There were also crab cakes and crab salads..
On the counters you will find sushi a small portion of sashimi as well.. luckily later they added some huge lobsters too..
A separate section for salad lovers..
A section for Indian biriany daal and rice and chicken curry..
A live station for mutton beef and chicken skewers..
Along with this the flow of drinks were amazing
Dessert section was too good to be true with all sorts of cakes and arabic sweets and ice creams.. No complaints at all..
On top server ASHRAF Took special care of our table.. Each time folding our napkins when we left to replenish our plate..
Last but not the least almost a 3 hours gossip good food and good ambience was spectacular which ended with perfect cammomile tea :)
Today we had our breakfast here ,I must say that it's one of the best open buffet we tried .although we had to wait for a place to sit as it was little bit over crowded but this took only around 5minutes ,the variety of food is excellent, the taste is good .
I love it ,enjoyed .

Fridays bring an exceptional thrill to Dubai residents of all sorts and kinds. Dunes Cafe's Lobsterlicious Thursday night is a dream come true! We were a bit hesitant at first, thinking what would it be like having a buffet dinner in an open restaurant beside the Lobby...
We were pleasantly surprised with the quality, service and abundant amount of the food served!
Every section they had was mastered by a chef... The pasta section has its own chef who would personalize your pasta to your liking - I ordered it Aldente with lobsters and tomato basil sauce... Their 2 soups were splendid: the miso and lobster bisque! Two types of grilled lobsters (Thermidor and boston) were grilled upon request and served to your table. Hot and cold Steamed lobster, shrimps were available, fresh oysters, delicious range of salads... A very very rich buffet for 235 AED per person (non-alcoholc beverages) and 330 (alcoholic).
The best section I loved was the japanese section which was freshly prepared by a Japanese chef... How rare is it to find a Japanese chef handling the Japanese section in Dubai.. There's Tomo, and Dunes Cafe only! Don't miss out on the Lobster sashimi!

You will be stuffed... So be selective! Everything is delicious!

I stayed here overnight with friends because they wanted to check out Dubai. I had the breakfast buffet here. I would give the food a 3.25 and I gave an extra .75 for the service.
The food was better than average. I was here on a Monday and found that the breakfast buffet is every day. I believe the buffet is 24 hours a day as well. The reason I gave this a 3.25 for food is because it has what you would expect most other buffets to have in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. It wasn't extravagant, but it was satisfying. They did have Dim Sum which I like as well as thin steaks and burger patties made to order, along with cheeses, breads, fruit, waffles, pancakes, juices, waters, coffees and cappuccinos available. But the service I did find was very attentive. So much so that they got an extra .75 for it. Price was 130 dhr. I would probably stop back if I were in town and wanted a good quick breakfast.
Dunes at the Shangri-la, specifically the brunch at Dunes on a Friday afternoon, is sure to send your taste buds on a rollercoaster. With multiple cuisines including Asian, Arabic and continental dishes you are never short for choice.
The Asian live cooking station featured a wide variety of dumplings which I frequently visited and strongly advise. The only downfall to the buffet was the roasted duck. As expected it was rather chewy which is always tricky when it is kept on display all afternoon long!
The desert selection was fascinating yet again. The lemon tart was exceptional.
Do not make the same mistake I did! Make sure you save some space cause you'll surely be paying this desert buffet a few visits.
Dunes did not let me down in all aspects and is definitely a place I'd recommend for a classy Friday brunch!

I have been here many times for medical seminars and taken the buffet. They have a remarkable spread in a somewhat limited space. Mostly the food is of continental variety with separate sections of Japanese, Indian and Arabic sections. Very satisfied with the staffs and quality of food. Very popular amongst western expatriates. May be for that reason my Indian tongue occasionally finds the dishes a bit underwhelming regarding the spices. But no issues. Overall a Very nice cozy place.
Attended during the lobsterlicious week. Absolutely fantastic and mindblowing menu with seafood. Very tender and lovingly cooked. Awesome. Paella and crab pepper fries were good. The crab in garlic butter was simply spectacular.

It is in the ground floor of Shangri la. Open sitting restaurant. Live cooking available. It has mainly continental and Indian cuisine with Japanese section of sushi etc and some arabic salads. Variety is not overwhelming. Quality is good. Attentive waiters. In a small place they have remarkable arrangements of food and very nice ambience. Quite popular amongst western expatriates. I have been there innumerable times for medical seminars and is quite happy with all the items. One small niggle- somehow the spices of the dishes leave one not fully satisfied. Now, I don't know if it's my bias or there really is something amiss. Anyway, a delightful evening can be nicely spent here with good food and good stuff.

It was really a 5 stars dine-in experience and we were so glad to find this gem in the middle of Sheikh Zayed Road in Shangrila Hotel.
Today I went there with a friend for lunch buffet with unlimited house beverages from 12:30pm to 3:30pm (Saturday and Sunday, also on weekdays) in a very affordable price.
The food was well-served and was so delicious. Everything there was amazing, from the starter, salads, main dishes, barbecues, sweets, drinks and soups. We were not expecting it will be this really good at all. We were both happy and enjoyed the VIP food and treatment. All the staffs were amazing from front to end.
I strongly recommend this to everyone in all occassion. I would infact suggest this to my friends and workmates as well for our future events. I suggest you to get the promo in Groupon and experience this goodness. Honestly it was a 5 star experience. Kudos to them. 👌👍

One of the best quality seafood buffets in Dubai. An excellent selection of fresh local seafood, bbq, salads and dessert. I would highly recommend... even took my parents there.
One more thing, the staff are extremely courteous and polite.

Comolelty mind blown!! The place was absoulty superb. Had come in for the iftar buffet for my moms birthday party and it was the best experience ever. The staff to begin with were so humble and kind. Mr.Anvar our host was so kind and made sure our party of 6 was well looked after. The food was absolute delicious and if you are a vegetarian like me they go above and beyond to provide you with more options. The deserts to me were the icing on the cake. Literally so many options and all of them were 10/10!! It was a dessert haven. With live music through the whole dinner this was truly a wonderful experience

Located in ground floor of Shangrila Hotel Dubai the environment is very good!
We having a lunch buffet here, surprise with an excellent service and super friendly staff and cook. They will explain the food display to you one by one if you are first time comer. Rarely have the cook come out to served customers but they did, very impressed.
All the food here well displayed and the taste and very delicious , with the price is reasonable, highly recommended!
