Really impressed with the service especially from Khiel,( i hope i get the spelling righ)the one that incharge for tonight and the server V and Sol all very patience with us and i can tell the staff really enjoy and genuinely happy with their job and i can feel happiness among them.We celebrate of my friend birthday all the staff singing and playing the instruments and really personal and nice gestures from all of them.
The food is amazing quality and really happy with my medium steak.really bad i didnt take any pictures to prove.
Keep up a good work and hopefully this gem will stay as long as possible.

It was our Anniversary and the best part is we always go for steaks and surprisingly both agree ALWAYS. We both just love meat.
We decided to go to City Grill. We really liked the place, the ambiance. They served us complimentary carbs and we just loved the dips that came along. Our order comprised of Beef Ribs(kumeil is crazy for ribs) and we ordered a mix grill it had lamb chops, steak, ribs and sausage. Ribs were amazing and kumeil really liked chops too(i dint) sausage was a bit too spicy for some odd reason and steak was juicy.
For dessert we had creme brulee. It was super creamy and loved the crackling top and went really well with fresh fruits.
Overall it was really good and we really had a great date night with our little munchkin 💕

How does this place have only a 3 star rating? Everything we ate here was DELICIOUS. We ordered the T-Bone steak and it was cooked to perfection. The sauce to accompany the meat was also delicious. Even the dessert, crème brûlée, was EXCELLENT. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants a really good steak. The server, NTANDO, was also FANTASTIC. He never let our glasses sit empty and was very knowledgeable about the menu, especially the cuts of meat. Thank you for your amazing service (:

We were invited to experience the Pink African Night that takes place every Sunday from 8pm – 12am. The City Grill is located in V Hotel, Downtown Dubai which portrays elegance and luxury with its dark brown themed decor with a furnace burning away. The place has a dim lighting that makes it perfect to grab a drink or wind down after a busy day. You can choose to sit at the bar if you are there just for the drinks or you can opt for the comfy sofa style seating to hang out with friends or a high table if you are with a large group.
We attended this venue after seeing La Perle. We were greeted at the entrance by the receptionist warmly, she kindly assisted us to our table. The ambiance was nice, lighting was good, music was at a nice volume but playlist did not suit the venue for me. As we had a package dinner with the show we had a 3 course meal. I had the soup, it was fine, my partner had the chicken liver which was also good. For Mains we had the rump steak and the baby chicken. The steak was cooked perfectly, the chicken was tasty but small. For dessert we had only 2 options, profiterolls and ice cream, so we got one of each, which was OK also. Alcohol is on the expensive side, but there are people giving out 20% vouchers in the lobby before the show you can use which makes the price a bit lighter. Special shout out to one of the staff who dropped someone's dinner on the floor, accidents happen, we felt sorry for him. Overall a nice venue to chill and eat after the show.

Last Sunday we visited The Atrium at Al Habtoor City to check out the Pink African Night at The City Grill. All about pink hues, pink drinks, meaty treats and South African vibes, this Sunday soiree is sure to get your feet tapping and your meat cravings satiated. Taking place every Sunday from 8 pm to midnight, this ladies night gets all the ladies 3 complimentary drinks, while men accompanying the ladies get 40% off drinks. If you’re feeling peckish, you can enjoy a large meaty platter priced at AED 140 that comes with beef ribs, steak, borewors, lamb chops, chicken and a side of your choice. I loved the steak, which was cooked to a medium well doneness as per my request. The borewors were good too and my plus one was especially fond of the ribs. Despite the delicious food, one platter each was a little too much for the tiny two of us, so sharing would be a great option. Our two sides included a green salad, and a South African maize porridge mieliepap. The latter was like mashed potato in texture, but slightly dry, so make sure you have it with their chakalaka sauce. We were also given complimentary warm bread with dips while we waited for the food.

As stated by the owners, this place will fulfil your carnivorous food cravings. What they do to the meat is magical. Situated in the Atrium near Dubai water canal, this place is a South African grill/ steakhouse. The ambience and service was great. Overall the experience was just amazing. Those Emirates Platinum card holders can avail a flat 50% discount on the total bill.
The City Grill is a great restaurant. A little bit on the expensive side but totally worth it. The food was very good and the portion was great. We shared the platter 4 way and there was still left over. The steaks were cooked really well and our server was the sweetest. The ambience in the restaurant was very nice and calm.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! This South African restaurant will leave you wanting more. The steak was amazing, paired with a beautiful glass of red = Devine! The service was impeccable!

We had a lovely dinner at The City Grill tonight. The venue was nice and the music reminded us of home so it was such a lovely evening. The waiter was friendly and the service great. We ordered the Beef Carpaccio which was simply divine with the South African Rump and Chicken Sosaties with some salad and veggies on the side. Both dishes was a great hit and spot on the taste buds.
Another perfect evening by The City Grill. Perfect service by Mr. Ntando. Delicious cocktails ( specially lond island ice tea). South african prime rib: must try if h are two people . I thoroughly enjoyed my mouthwatering sea bass fillet.

This place was on the upper mezzanine floor facing the Dragan show- La perle.
Entrance was through a nicely stoned wall. The inner walls are having lots of interesting artefacts with some decorative trees and naked filamentous bulbs of variable sizes and shapes. The Bar was nice to seat on till the table was being prepared. The lady receptionist who was manning the outer desk accompanied us and made sure personally to prepare the seat and take us there. I wondered though that why that took so long in spite of the reservation and lots of tables being obviously without guests!! Anyhow the place was a combination of bright lights with dark classy nooks.
The food was superb.
We were given a fantastically plated bread basket with two supreme sauces. We hard time to control our appetite. And this time though it was difficult to get hold of a serving staff, once he was with us, he displayed extreme patience and discussed in minute details about the new Zomato gold system and helped us to plan. But at the next moment again he disappeared.
We started by three appetizers-
1. Duck liver terrine 120 dhs. 5/5. Foie gras terrine with brandy. Served with toasted brioche- awesome. Very innovative slice of the slightly sour liver slab. Beautiful dish.
2. Beef carpaccio 65 dhs. 5/5. It's basically a sliced beef loin meat soaked in mustard and mayo sauce and parmesan cheese and enoki mushroom. Beautifully made. Super delicious.
3. Sharing platter 95 dhs. 4/5. It comprised of a shared selection of boneless chicken wings , jalapeno cheese balls, butterfly prawns, grilled boerwors sausages, served with spicy lemon sauce. The chicken wings were good, sausages and prawns were great and the cheese balls were also ran.
Then were the turn of the Mains- both of us chose the Salmon fillet, 170 dhs each. 4.5/5. Fresh and crispy crust. Layered pink softness inside. Beautifully done and plated perfectly. You get a side with this - can be selected among a long list of 12-14 items. We took two of them-
1. the asparagus grills-5/5. Absolutely mind blowing. Perfectly grilled. Juicy. Plump. Green. Minimal fibres.
2. Sweet potato fries-4/5. Well done. A bit thin. Crispy.
Either of these extra was 25 dhs.
We washed these down with a mojito 45 dhs and for my friend Dr.Manodip Acharyya , a pineapple juice At 40 dhs. Both were nice. Liked the fresh mojito.
I think the service required a lot looking into - very wavering standard, from great to poor.
Otherwise an excellent place to enjoy at the weekend. Sorry that it closed now- hopefully will reopen soon.
We had two starters, angus beef burger, Argentinian steak and South African rum steak ending with a dessert.
Main course were very well prepared and presented. They gave us good enough time in between starters and main courses which I believe was a good move unlike some other places who hurry things up.
Service was excellent.
Ambiance was awesome.
Would definitely visit soon again.

We were here last night with my hubby and spent our simple celebration of our 1st wedding anniversary after watching at La Perle show. The staff are friendly! They also sang us their traditional South African song and that was sweet with a complimentary cake! ❤️😊
I went to The City Grill to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday along with seven friends of ours. The steaks were juicy, tender and delicious. The 2 page menu covers all one can think of however a bit more chicken dishes would be icing on the cake. With wide selection of alcohol as well as kids meal choices this place makes the right choice for either a family night out or your first date.
Located on the 1st floor of The Atrium at Habtoor City 🌃 is The City Grill with a really sophisticated style, open kitchen and dishes to die for! 🤗 Take their lobster tail for example. Drizzled with lemon 🍋 oil and decorated with edible flowers it’s a really wonderful dish and hardly expensive at just AED 150! Their grilled steaks are amazing, juicy, succulent and cooked to perfection. 😋 There’s a huge wine 🍷 selection, ace decoration and an extensive bar stocked with all the drinks you’d expect to see at a restaurant of this calibre . Service is excellent and this is the restaurant I’d choose before La Perle by Dragone show!
Service was great! The food was so amazing and the drinks are too, I was very happy with the authentic south African menu. However was a bit unimpressed with the drinks menu.
So last Thursday was my first date night of 2018, where I actually got myself dressed up (out my pj’s) and indulged in some glorious wine for the first time in 2 weeks. I’d booked the hubs and I tickets to La Perle, which, if you haven’t seen MUST be added to your list of Dubai to-do’s this year. I’d bought tickets for the early show which finished at 8.30pm and wanted to go somewhere close by for dinner afterwards so booked a table at The City Grill, ideally located in the Atrium and right next to La Perle.
It’s a pleasant experience having dinner in the steak restaurant.
Staff are very friendly and attentive, especially the bartender Xavier, funny and talkative.
Ordered Tomahawk steak which is absolutely amazing. Very well cooked, juicy and tender.
Chips are nice, but salad and mushrooms are not that exiting. Mushrooms were not cooled down as soon as possible while prepared, that’s why it tastes cheesy and old.
Overall it’s a very good place to have some good steak and enjoy a glass wine.

As a South African living in Dubai it's always hard to come across a good place that actually serves South African food, well I just found this amazing little gem hidden in Al Habtoor city, decor was beautiful with African style decor, greated at the door by a hostess who was very friendly and assisted us to our table, ambience was subtle, soft lighting, and African music in the background, as for the meal, yes I nearly licked my plate clean, starting with complementary bread which was just so yummy, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with Peri Peri and olive tapenade, starters scallops cooked to perfection, soft and juicy, salmon gravlax, just enough salt and chicken livers, must I add the sauce with the chicken livers is absolutely to die for and great for dipping the bread. Mains we had a mixed platter and we SA saffas live our meat, rump steak, perfectly cooked, boerewors( SA sausage) lamb rack that melted in your mouth and spare ribs. Perfect! Steward our waiter was very friendly and attentive and while other tables celebrated their bday, it was wonderful to hear the team sing in our traditional language, and need I say more they have KLIPDRIFT! Thank you team, kitchen included and manager Mihai for a wonderful evening, will definitely be back for more and definitely be telling all my SA peeps to come visit. Just one small request... Turn up the music!

Located in The Atrium, The City Grill is famous for steaks! So you cannot leave without trying one. As soon as you enter, the narrow alley takes you in a rich ambience where its dark and filled with a good amount of people. They even have a display shelf of Beef fillets, ribs and what not! The interior is gorgeous and you do get the right feeling of being in a fine dining restaurant.

Complimentary basket bread - pretty good! fresh out of the oven!
Sharing Platter - boneless chicken wings, cheese balls, butterfly prawns and grilled sausages. Not sure if my appetite is abnormal but this platter was no where close to being a sharing platter! *FACEPALM* keeping the portion aside the items tasted pretty good!
Chicken Sosati - Something close to nandos i would say but in a higher price. It was indeed delicious and a great alternative for my non beef lovers
Argentinean Grass Fed Fillet - this one as well was delicious! Perfectly done and chewy.
Chocolate Moelleux - no complains! Utterly delicious!

The regular blue cheese, the Fourme d’Ambert, the orange blue cheese, they are all so tasty…. All are of Premium Quality!. And you can choose between a wide range of wine: red, white or rose…. Looking for a fun way to spend an evening after work on a Monday. Enter The City Grill's new Monday night Cheese & Vine evening. The steak house located on Level 1 of the The Atrium is next to the W hotel and apart of Habtoor City and home to the newly opened La Perle. A permanent theatre show from the maker of the Cirque Du Soleil show "O" at the Bellagio.
So if there wasn't enough buzz already, this location is proving to be one of the hottest places in town.
As you enter The City Grill, you will notice in front of the stunning bar they have wine barrels which are used as tables to display the various wines on offer. From South Africa to France, you can sip & savor a selection of whites, rose and red wines.
Behind you in a long table set up is the offering of cheese. There's is so much variety you might be a little overwhelmed, but not to worry, you can try as many as you like in the 3 hours from 6-9pm. Finally a place with a varying offer of crackers, breads plus not just grape garnishes, fresh figs and jams too.
It's the perfect after work venue to get together with some friends or your loved one, find your favorite drop and nibble on some fine cheeses.
Date night done right at City Grill! Chose this place as the Mr. is a diehard steak lover and he sure did have a good item. The place is beautiful with really nice edgy interiors. We ordered the Sharing platter for starters with lil tweaks to add veg options (imagine a vegeterian at a steakhouse!) and it was perfect. Also, they have the best collection of wines. For maincourse, my husband went with a Rib Eye steak which was quite good. I ordered a salad a burger (which arrived cold). To my surprise, the manager tells me that next time you are here - we will ensure your dinner is not cold! Super Weird! But overall a good place.
This restaurant welcomes you with a beautiful decor which rinvites you for fine dining. The staff are very helpful, polite and i would say the service is on point. The food has flavour, the beef ribs are a must have!!! Please improve on the creamy spinach...otherwise a real proudly South African place
September is the best time to be in Dubai if you are into restaurant scene. As the summer season comes to an end, there are numerous new interesting restaurant openings, launch of new menus and theme nights. For a hardcore foodie like me, its an exciting period and I always look forward to this month.
We came here after La Perle for dinner and although we already have a favorite steak spot in Dubai we were very very impressed. Amazing Ribeye, service and ambiance.
Loved the spare ribs, wife had the Australian rib eye and it was heavenly! Oh and don't miss the sweet potato fries. Great service and the decor is impeccable!
Sophisticated interiors, flavourful food and prime cuts, City Grill is a fabulous venue for date night or pre-drinks by the bar. We tried the Australian Rib Eye and the South African Prime Rib - both were delicious. A swanky place to spend the evening.
Hats off to the designer, you've created a very good dining venue! Your staff were all extremely polite, welcoming, and had an excellent knowledge of the menu.
We were dining with a group of 10, and the table service was great.
Food. I ordered the rib eye, which was well cooked, and had an asparagus side. I tasted the prawn bisque and scallops. They were good, but could have been better, especially considering this is an upmarket restaurant.
Taking into account the cost of dinner and drinks (see our bill below) I was expecting excellent food. You also need to consider there are a number of very good and established steak restaurants in Dubai to complete with, who don't charge quite so much for arguably better food.
Fortunately we were dining with pilots who receive a discount which made the bill more bearable !
Overall you have a good restaurant. Slight improvement to the food and it will be great!

Came to the City Grill for the Braai night with alcohol. The restaurant had a lively vibe with a lot of people having a good time. The service was excellent and the waiter was constantly ensuring we had enough food and drink and would often provide drinks before we had finished the ones we were on. Overall the night was good value for money, the only down side for myself was the steak which was chewy and didn't taste great otherwise would have given the night a 5.
