The taste is very delicious but the portion is very small for what you pay. If you have entertainer, it can be affordable! I would recommend it if you don't take into account the money. I mainly loved the octopus sushi and the prawn maki!😍
Very lovely restaurant. Great atmosphere for a fine dining family outing. The food was super delicious, from starters to every part of the main course including their sushi rolls. The dynamite shrimp and eel sushi was our favorite. They also have one of the best miso soups in town. A wide selection of drinks from mock-tails to various cocktails, this place is your perfect restaurant for a celebration. Definitely recommending it to all our family and friends.
Great quality and delicious sushi at reasonable prices especially paired with a bottle of wine. Ambience is great for food and drinks, I would recommend the management to change the music to complement the Asian theme. The best part of the experience was the attentive service by everyone, especially our waiter Twinkle who has made us feel super comfortable and took care of us extremely well. Highly recommended.

Kanpai is one of the more popular restaurants in Souk Al Bahar and basically the rest of Dubai Mall. The restaurant itself is great for drinks and have a firm understanding on the tastes and flavors that it’s customers enjoy. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be there for as long as they have. The menu is constantly revised, a few times each year and the management team comes up with brilliant ideas to attract customers, both new and exciting.

A dimly lit restaurant not known by many people…a wonderful place to have a lovely romantic dinner with your special someone…a cordial ambient restaurant serving marvelous dishes from the Japanese cuisine (which has started to become one of my fav cuisines lately), also a smattering of Thai. There’s a sense of richness & sophistication in the slick interiors, with mighty samurai statues greeting you. The food served here is cooked with perfection, a taste that arouses your senses. You can clearly feel the freshness of the produce used in the meals which are created with finesse. I opted for their three-course set menu which had an assortment of finest dishes and since I went with one friend of mine, I could try two dishes from every course meal which gave me an immense food experience. Starting with the traditional Miso Soup & Tom Yum Soup, both very different in flavor but equally appetizing. The broth in both the soups took me to a divine fantasy world while my feet were still grounded in this restaurant. The spices of Tom Yum Soup & flavorful tofu in Miso Soup truly wowed me. Then came the hot appetizers in a style, absolutely loved the presentation of every meal, indeed quite creative & tempting.👍🏼
Their Ebi Tempura Maki & Wasabi Prawns are definitely a must have. I never loved Avocado as much as I did in this Tempura #Maki🍣, no flavor overly dominated the other by creating wholly distinctive tastes. When it comes to the mains, you can’t go wrong with the scrumptious & succulent oven roasted Angry Chicken with spicy creamy sauce, definitely drool worthy😍
However, the grilled Shoyu Salmon marinated with soy, served with sweet mash potatoes & BBQ sauce could have been the showstopper of the night but I felt it was just overly sweet. The freshness of flawlessly grilled Salmon fish with distinctive & bold flavor had a good first-taste but then the flavors which collided nicely earlier seemed too repetitive & way too much for my palate. The lovely Chocolate Lava Cake was a sweet little happy ending to my dinner @kanpaidubai 🥰
As a whole, this restaurant is a solid choice if you’re looking for a nice place to dine at Souk al Bahar, I definitely recommend it😋

My husband and I had dinner her when I was 9 months pregnant. It was a decision made on a whim! We were so glad we could afford a wagyu steak thru Entertainer :D or else we wouldn't have gone.
I love how the waiters were attentive and how entertaining the hibachi cook was. I would definitely add this to our "Special Night Dinner" list of restaurants.

Dropped in to Kanpai after having a heavy dinner in Dubai Mall. Entered in a weekend night & found it to be packed. Got seats near the bar & ordered drinks. Pleasantly surprised at the excellent service we received even though the place was full.
Loved the tracks the DJ was playing. Made the visit even more fun.
Great ambience and staff. I dropped by for a few drinks with a friend who was visiting from the UK. He definitely liked it here. Sadly, we had to move out early and didn't have a chance to try the sushi. Nevertheless, there's always the next time. :)
The interior and the vibe of the restaurant was very nice . The food was delicious but the quantity was very less . The staff were very friendly and polite. As they have high prices for there food so they should increase the quantity as well. They also have a good collection of wines.

Their sushi Saturday’s are worth it! I go there regularly. The reason they don’t get 5* is because the menu for the unlimited sushi is limiting and includes sushi that is a little heavy (fried with sauces)

Was here on a Saturday. There was an offer All you can eat Sushi for 2hrs. Shushi and Sashimi at its best and the service was very quick and the staff are friendly. They do have a seperate selection of other Japanese food and also alcohol drinks. Recomend for family. Better to make a reservation in advance

Had a fantastic time catching up with a frnd. Ordered chilly prawns, edameme and california maki rolls. Food was good. Music was great. Classic evergreen music. Used our zomato gold. Kanpai has a great vibe ! It has lovely music and an awesome DJ ! We didn’t order much food as we went post dinner. But I’m eager to sample the Japanese menu.
They also have a fine dining family seating area which is perfect for a special occasion or celebratory dinner/lunch.
Love that they are partnered with zomato gold as this place is pretty expensive but totally worth it !
If you’re looking for a sushi I recommend Kanpai for me their sushi is the best in Dubai. Every time i craved for sushi i always visit here.
Quality ingredients, friendly staff, You wouldn’t be disappointed by their sushi and goyoza, a bit pricey make sure you find a way to get a discount, Im reducing it to 4 star due to their poor house beverages service in their brunch. Food is good but staff is reluctant to serve house beverages efficiently.
Another visit for Brunch July 2020 , They have changed their menu, food stayed the same but quality of main dishes and amount to be served reduced, you can only get 1 main dish anymore, cocktail options has bern modified negatively as well, this place still deserves 4 star cause of delicious appatezires and sushi but I will look for somewhere else for brunch anymore.
Been there on Saturday for lunch. We had the Unlimited Sushi deal for 199AED/person including some glasses of wine. I did not review the menu, but Sushi in one dish has around 30 pieces i suppose, delicious and cold. I recommend to try it if you are a fan of sushi and eat over 30 pieces of course ;-)
Celebration time for a family members surprise bday brought us to enjoy the culinary expertise at this lip smacking fine dining experience. Presentation was eye catching and the mesmerizing taste lingered for a long time. Staff were so kind and cooperative to surprise the birthday girl. One up for them all!!
Restaurant is really good. Very nice location near Dubai Mall. You can choose sit on the bar or restaurant floor. Good point that they have Ukrainian speaker, hostess Natalia was very polite. One small minus was not enough lights. Happy ours is also big plus!
We went to experience their friday sunset brunch and absolutely loved it. We were given a set menu to choose from giving us so many options on food that we ordered all the starters one of each and couldnt help ourselves to double up on the vegetable spring rolls. Their starters were just perfection made to satisfy all taste buds and having something for everyone. For mains we had chicken and beef teriyaku served with a side of rice. The service was quite fast which was impressive and to finish it off, we had some icecream covered in chocolate sauce served with fried banana. Although we didnt know it was tempura styled banana however it was a great option. You dont need to get up like a typical brunch as everything is served by the waiters. Delicious food!
The place and ambience is very nice. Its good for a light and little formal dinner. The calamari was amazing even though not on menu since i do not have shrimps.

We went to Kanpai last night. The place was so cool, nice interior and the staff are so accomodating. We ordered Japanese tuna pizza, and block cod and wagyu for main course. It was so "out of this world". Delicisouso!!! Definitely, we will come back soon. KANPAI!!!
Kanpai is one of the fabulous buffet we have been to in dubai, we had a friday brunch and the food was sooo satisfying. The food was so addicting and we have had an option to keep on ordering what ever on the set menu. Those shrimp tempuras and makis (specialy with the avocadoes) is one of the best in town. The staff are all smile all the time and so accomodating, even though it was quite busy! Shoutouts to Gold and to our male server (sorry we forgot his name). Surely we gonna see you soon again, Kanpai!

Went to Kanpai for the first time with a friend only because I had a voucher for a free bottle of grape. So happy with the decision to have sushi last night! So far this is the second best sushi I’ve had in Dubai, only Zuma was a bit better! Had the Maki Sushi Platter as the waiter said it was a bit spicy and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rolls! Very tasty and worth another visit!
Always my favorite restaurant for Japanese food and sushi.
Ordered the lamb for a change and it was outstanding. Grilled prawns are great too. Highly recommended!

My review for Kanpai – This restaurant really amazed me with every single dish that I had. I am and will always be a huge fanatic of Japanese food and I am so glad to have stepped into this place as it was pretty authentic in terms of flavours.
I really enjoyed the tom yum soup, it had strong Thai flavours which made it absolutely delicious. The lemongrass flavours were on point in the soup, and it was just a great start to the dinner.
The assorted sushi platter was massive and each and every piece in the platter was perfect. I loved the salmon sashimi the most as it tasted fresh and the slices were the right size. The sushi sandwich was unique and interesting and reminded me of the ones that I had in Japan.
Continuing with the massive a la carte menu choices, I had to get two more items that really stood out to me, which were the lobster dumplings and the black cod. The lobster dumplings were fried and filled with delicious lobster of course. There was a good amount of lobster in these dumplings.
The black cod was my main course and it was divine! The black cod just melted in my mouth which is why I love this dish so much. It was seasoned perfectly and the bed of snap peas underneath was tasty.
Finally, I was happy with the dessert choices but my favourite was definitely the green tea tiramisu. The green tea twist was way better than the regular coffee flavours in most tiramisu cakes that I’ve had.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 5/5.
I ordered the prawn tom yum soup for 49DHS, maki & sashimi platter for 175DHS, lobster dumplings for 68DHS, the black cod for 168DHS, and the green tea tiramisu for 48DHS.
The pricing of the dishes here was good for the large menu selection, along with a great selection of house and special beverages.
The service was excellent with all of the servers on the shift working their hardest to ensure that everyone in the restaurant was doing good. Whenever we needed something, it was very easy for us to get a server’s attention. The food came out so fast which was perfect as I was so hungry.
The general manager was very friendly and she was an excellent host where she had a positive attitude throughout the whole evening.
The ambience was chic and the unique decor all around brought out wonderful Asian vibes.
This restaurant is located in Soul Al Bahar and everything about the interior of this place fitted in so well here.

My friend and I made use of the entertainer voucher of buy one and get one free Saturday sushi brunch. The waitresses were professional and friendly, and food arrived without delay.
We each were served a sushi platter, the beauty of this offer is you can eat all the sushi being served as much as you want for two hours.
It was well worth our experience and will be visiting again.

Oh, their sushis are so good 😊. I have never tried anything like this before! The feeling of “It melts in my mouth”. Staff are also nice. Besides the good food, I would definitely be coming back for the good service! Kanpai is ❤️
Lovely restaurant to unwind especially with that jug of bull frog .
I had grilled lamb chops with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. it came with a mint sauce that I would suggest you all try . if your much of a savoury person then this might not be your favourite sauce but it's worth trying .
The ambience is Ok if say . But the service is amazing.

Kanpai is a quite chill place to hang out. Nice place to unwind after work. The ambience is very cool. Twinkle , is one of their best servers and an absolute star!
Went to this place for an event & was not disappointed. The place is cozy, but not so impressed with the music. The staff was attentive, thanks to Twinkle. Very helpful. Food was tasty. Will still comeback nonetheless

One more new place and I’m ready to share with you my impressions about it. It was Kanpai Restaurant @kanpaidubai in Souk Al Bahar. Japanese food.
🍱 Food: it was fresh and presentation was nice. Sushi were very tasty and components chosen in a proper way and even choice of souses was good, but ginger and wasabi was very small portions. Chopsticks were not in individual packaging, which I didn’t like.
🍸 Drinks: wine list by glasses - little bit disappointed me. List of spirits and beers was little bit better. And the prices are not cheap as well. At the same time, good list of assorted cocktails. Not huge, but for any taste.
🍴 Service: no complains. Table was always clean and ashtrays were changed regularly.
🎼 Music: it’s not the place for dancing. Anyway, they are playing mostly modern songs.
🚪 Ambience: very nice shady place with very pleasant atmosphere. It’s good for romantic evening, but not for big group. Tables are quite uncomfortable for that. And ventilation is not very well. If you are a non smoker-you’ll feel yourself very uncomfortable.
🎯 Entertainment: Nothing.
📍 Location and parking: my advice- either go by taxi or be ready to walk, because you have to find parking either in Dubai mall parking or somewhere outside this area. And even inside Souk Al Bahar it will be difficult to find. There’re no maps or navigation stand, and people around usually don’t know about it. So, look better

I enjoyed staying in this pub. It was my first experience in this bar, and staffs are very welcoming and accommodating. Popcorn is overloading. 😍 I liked how Princess Twinkle assisted and served us - she was so warm and approachable. 👏👏 We entered the pub while happy hour was still on, and so we savored discounted drinks and food. I admire Mr. Japanese who was almost always beside us to attend for our requests. Very well trained staffs! Kudos to the management and whole team! Ambiance was perfect, but the space is not enough. I was in Kanpai with my friend. Both of us we are not sushi lovers but we gave it a try. I tried maki which was so delicious. But the number one are lobster dumplings! We didn’t forget about desert. First time I had a chance to try green tea tiramisu! That was the best part of our dinner 😍 for sure I will come back there!

We tried the tiger prawns and beef wagyu (this is the best with the pepper sauce!)
I love how entertaining watching the chef do the cooking. The meal started with appetizer, the miso soup and green salad. Gosh, it tasted so good, and we didn't expect that.
Had side dishes and desserts, as well which are all good. My fave part was the rice, super delicious!
Staff were all attentive, place is cozy.
Good choice to have a good experience you won't forget.
