The place to go for a laid-back dinner when you are craving Italian food. Have been many times and tried most of the pasta and pizza on the menu (my favorite is lobster spaghetti). The atmosphere is relaxed and never crowded. The dishes are reasonably priced, great value for money if you have Entertainer.
I love this place, because it feels like i'm in europe. The food is really fresh and delicious.
Appetizer: I recommend you trying antipasti for the starter as this for me the best appetizer i've tried and healthy at the same time. Also the amuse bouche taste amazing especially that it has truffles,
Main course: Brasato di manzo con polenta, canella e pistachio, taste great and feels very authentic italian taste, Brazino al sale. Sea bass also taste fresh and soft.
Dessert: tiramisu and pierre al vino cotto gelato also taste great 👌🏻
Overall experience is amazing and the staff are very welcoming and the manager is also a good host.

Al Fresco is great place to have italian food. It's in Crowne Plaza Dubai SZR centrally located. The place is good for nice dinner. The restaurant was quite when we went. We ordered ravioli pasta and pizza. The food is awesome. The service is quick and good. One of my favourite place to eat italian food
Great place, wonderful peaceful ambience. Something i really look for especially when goin in a bigger group or just close friends so we can hear each other and not having to scream our lungs out. Coming to the food, i had ordered the P option food along with some nice chicken spaghetti Pasta in white sauce and it was truly amazing. Tru Italian, great texture and ooooh its so good. I would definitely come back again here but this time with some nice drinks, as i didn't have them the previous time i visited 😉

Last Friday, we decided to visit Crown Plaza, Dubai for brunch. The Friday brunch includes the cuisines from their 12 award-winning outlets. Al Fresco Italian, Sakura Japanese Restaurant, Trader Vic's Restaurant, Al Tannour, to name a few, guests have a huge variety to choose from. Crown Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Road has been a very popular destination for food lovers and party hoppers from a very long time.
The flight theme brunch offers Economy, Business and First Class packages. Available from 12 noon to 4pm on Fridays, packages start from AED220. Guests can expect live entertainment and kids activities, apart from the pick your own, the servers bring their specialties right at the table. Executive Head Chef, Christophe Prud'Homme spoke to us, " Today is a big display showcase of our 12 outlets, where one can choose from anywhere. 12 outlets in one brunch and don't worry you get drinks too"!

I was here for their pizza and pasta night and ever since I can't stop raving about this place. Be it the decor, the vibe or the food everything is just so authentic and fabulous.
They use the finest ingredients that reflects on the taste and flavour of the food. We started the evening with some small bites that included the Buratta cheese with cherry tomatoes, Octopus with mash, Falafel with cheese and some other finger food.
We also tried a variety of pizzas and a Veal for the main course, absolutely loved everything that was served as it was prepared with fresh and quality ingredients.
The dessert was art, the chef brought in a display of fresh berries, chocolate brownies and put them all together on the table in front of us and we ended the meal by feasting on it.
I can't wait to go back here.
I can never get enough of Italian food. No kidding I can live on cheese for the rest of my life. So you can imagine my happiness when I heard that Al Fresco introduced the new – Pizza & Pasta Night
The night started out with some amazing selection of wines followed by some delicious appetizers. My favorites included the mozzarella rolls with sun dried tomatoes, cheese and cherry tomatoes, cheese balls and so on
Their pizza and pasta absolutely lived upto our expectations. It’s an absolute must to try this place out.

After having few beers at Trader Vic's we headed to Al fresco to have our dinner. The place was moderately filled and were quickly served by the steward. Has lots of options to eat among the Italian menu. I had margarita pizza and was good. The staff was courteous and good at service. Would recommend this place if you are near the trade center area and want to have a good Italian cuisine.

Al Fresco, located right in Crowne Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Road is an authentic, classy trattoria that makes me nostalgic every time I step in this eatery. I have been frequently visiting this place since the last couple of years and it has never disappointed me with their service or food.
It has always surpassed my expectations and proves that they are the masters of their game.
Goes without saying, the service is always on the top notch! All the servers are friendly. The best thing is that they love to interact with their guests which definitely helps one to know about the place, the origin and the food very well.
The ambiance, both indoor and outdoor is super soothing here.
If you are a wine lover, this is one place you need to visit. They have an endless variety to offer (Makes me happy for sure).
The Chef personally attended us and asked us about our preferences. The food was prepared exactly like the way we had mentioned.

There is one Italian Restaurant located inside @crowneplazadxb on SZR. It is called Al Fresco and it serves outstanding food! Absolutely everything we tried was a hit! We tried all time favorites and brand new dishes. We loved the carpaccio, the bruschetta, the olives, the pasta, the salmon and the cod and the chicken was superb! Chef Gabriele is very knowledgeable and the staff is very helpful, Arlene especially, who found the perfect wine to pair with all the delightful dishes. We rounded up with a creamy tiramisu. I highly recommend this place if you want to experience the variety of delicious Italian cuisine paired with good wine in a relaxed atmosphere. #alfrescodubai

Visited this place during Valentines Day, the set up was good. They had balloons and rose petals everywhere, even the dishes served had rose petals on them!Service was a bit slow but staff was courteous.
Since they serve pork, the dishes we ordered were all pork based. ( They’re other dishes are great to)

Searching to have an original pepperoni pizza i stumbled upon this joint at the crowne plaza. Good ambience with lots of natural lighting by a glass ceiling. I found on search engines that this place had the one i was looking to gobble. Sadly it was only the name that was original but the pizza was mediocre. I guess it was the italian version and not the american version. Staff were prompt and hospitable with the overall experience. Not sure if im going back for this specific pizza.

I was surprised to see a rating of 3.6 on Zomato for this hidden gem of a restaurant. What a great meal we had with personalized service.
Great décor on the inside but we opted to sit in the outside patio area given the great weather. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a weekend which
worked to our advantage as the service was great.
Skipping the starters we ordered the mains right away. The Margarita pizza was great - we asked them to add a hint of garlic - not to be missed...The
Vegetarian pizza was also good but nothing to beat the margarita...
The risotto with mushrooms and parmesan was rich and creamy with a hint of truffle - close to perfection..
The Tagliolini with pesto and almonds was also a delight.
I thought all the dishes were made well and cooked to perfection with the right consistency and flavor. Service as mentioned was personalized with the
steward coming at regular intervals to check if everything was in order without being too intrusive. Apart from the water being charged at a
ridiculous price, the pricing is standard 5 star rate.

Dropped in for a quick lunch with friends yesterday. Have been there long time ago...however things have not changed much but the usual relaxed ambience is still visible which actually reminds me of Cafe's in Italy. The Filipina lady who served us very courteous and professional. The Manager (believe she was South African) visited every table and checked the guests satisfaction. Overall a great experience and shall encourage my friends to go there.
Surprisingly good food! Decor is a bit tired, and their outdoor patio is certainly not the nicest, but the food is very good and the service excellent.
We will be back for a cheap-and-cheerful meal again soon.

Al Frescos truffle menu is all about... well truffles! Every dish is infused with black truffles. We started off with some good old burrata, with shaved black truffles - one of my favorites! We also had the beef carpaccio and bruschetta - the truffles gave these dishes a perfect twist to the classics. From the pasta selection, the gnocchi was superb as every bite just melts in your mouth. The risotto was not as tasty as the other dishes, so would steer away from that. If your a fan of plain steak, the grilled fillet was nice and meaty - of course with shaved truffles a side of mushrooms. Sweet endings are always the best, so we had to have the chocolate creme brûlée - definitely a success!
‘’Lunga Vita Chef Gabriele ‘’ roughly translated from Italian, it means Long Live Chef Gabriele. These were precisely the words the Arabian Gazette team uttered right after an incredibly satisfying dinner at the Al Fresco, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai. The words came from a deep sense of admiration for the Sous Chef who let us taste the finest Italian food in the heart of Dubai right around Christmas time.
Tried the new truffle menu at Al Fresco. The service was good! The place is small and very cute!
For starters we had the beef carpaccio, burrata and bruschetta with poached eggs. My favourite was the burrata and the carpaccio. We also tried the ravioli, gnochi and the risotto funghi. Ravioli is definitely recommended, it was SO GOOD! Then we had the steak, also super yummy! Desserts we had the tiramisu and the creme brulee, I would definitely recommend the creme brulee!

It was pure nostalgia when I visited Al Fresco, the award winning Italian restaurant after many years. I remember coming here for some of the special moments of my life with my husband. In fact, when we moved to Dubai, Al Fresco was where we celebrated our first Valentine’s Day. Located in the Second Floor of Crowne Plaza Dubai, Al Fresco is an authentic Italian restaurant offering simple and traditional Italian food. Over the years, Al Fresco has won many awards.
They serve the best Italian food in town and staff is amazingly polite and hospitable. They helped us a lot and went out of the way and that extra mile to make our visit memorable. Personal thanks to the manager siddique. He is an amazing person.
Bot to forget the food we had bruchetta, ravioli, pizza and grilled chicken and everything was delicious.

I am only reviewing this one because of their MIND BLOWING Tiramisu. Creamiest and most delicious ever with a dash of espresso which stood out. Of course, the restaurant is lively and has a cute outdoor space too. Oh, and their peppermint tea was a win too.

Located in the beautiful Crown plaza which marks one of Sheikh Zayed roads oldest and most prestigious landmarks, Al Fresco is a premium Italian Fine dining restaurant located on the reception floor. They flaunt some traditional cuisines and some delicious recipes from the cultural Italian kitchens. The head chef Gabrielle is one of the finest in the industry and an award-winning Chef. He designed the menu for the guests in the afternoon and did some magic in his live cooking session where he made us some risotto.
About the ambiance, the seating for us was in the outdoor veranda which is well covered and is a cute little hide out. I loved the layout, the little water fountain, the tiny opening to the kitchen where you can peek into what’s cooking and a large family dining table.
The day we visited they had made most of their food from the seasonal vegetables available locally. There was pumpkin, chestnut among other vegetables used.
We were served: Fresh bread with olive paste and olive oil: It was an amazing starter that got our appetite craving. I loved in specific the olive paste which was freshly made and delicious. It wasn’t sour and had just the right flavor to go with the warm bread.
Strawberry and orange fruit punch: which was a strawberry based summer drink and another was an orange based drink. Made fresh and tasted like mojito. I loved the refreshing taste. Yum o meter: 4/5
Mushroom pockets with spicy tomato sauce: The beautiful thumb sized mushroom pockets were creamy and crunchy. Crunchy and warm on the outside and soft and creamy in the inside, these were little balls tasted divine when dipped in the spicy tomato sauce that they were served with. Yum o meter: 5/5
Tomato Bruschetta: The classic bruschetta was like any other I have taste before but the bread was customized, soft, and slightly sweet which gave the bruschetta a different flavor. It was topped with freshly plucked basil which gave it a distinctive fragrance. I loved the originality of this one. Yum o meter: 4/5
Mushroom Risotto: The chef prepared this in front of us in the traditional wooden bowl and then served us in small glasses. I loved the preparation and the presentation, the taste was no less than international. The chef is renowned and world number 3 when it comes to risotto preparation. The spices and the herbs were just right and I couldn’t stop at one serving. Yum o meter: 5/5
Agnolotti: I loved the ravioli like pasta which was stuffed and topped generously with parmesan, mozzarella, and truffle. I loved the flavors and consistency of this one, the cheese and the right amount of everything added to the delicious taste of this dish. I am definitely coming back for this. This one was topped with basil and cherry tomato to give the cheese right balance and taste. Yum o meter: 10/5
Veal Milanese: I loved the crunchiness of the veal which was well cooked and delicious, but I have had better varieties of this one. Yum o meter: 3/5
Salmon with vegetables: The salmon was beautifully cooked in delicious homemade spices and herbs, this one served with seasonal vegetables like peppers, beans, broccoli, and potato, this was all I needed to complete my sumptuous lunch. The salmon was cooked right and soft enough to melt with every bite, the chef did maintain the slight crunch on the sides giving the salmon a perfect flavor. Yum o meter: 5/5
Dessert:
Mont Blanc: The Mont Blanc was a tribute to the famous mountain and had 2 sides to the dessert, one that of soil which comprised of molten lava cake and the other was a tart textured biscuit covered in snowy whipped cream and topped also with the shavings of chestnut. I loved the concept so much so that I nearly finished the entire dessert meant for 2 to share, myself. The crunchy biscuit and cream when mixed with the warm chocolate lava tasted gorgeous. Yum o meter: 10/5
Tiramisu: I loved the creamy tiramisu that had a different flavor than what I have tasted, this one wasn’t too sweet and wasn’t too big in serving as well. The quantity and taste were just right to complement the taste buds. I however felt that the coffee content in this one was a bit more than regular. I enjoyed it never the less. Yum o meter: 3.5/5
Carpaccio Ananas: Pineapple shavings soaked in syrup overnight and topped with coconut homemade ice cream was the best desert I have tasted in a long time. The best part was the pineapple shavings, they were fresh and fermented right, anymore of soaking them would have made them bitter. I loved the cinnamon, pepper, and mint flavoring too. This one is surely another name for innovation. Yum o meter: 5/5
I loved the delicious seasonal olives that were served in the big decorative bowls on the table. The chef also served us the marshmallows which were homemade and fresh. The entire hospitality of the staff, team and the chef were worth writing about. This place is not only about good quality food but also about preserving traditional flavors while experimenting new distinctive ways of presenting and serving them. The overall experience was great and I would love to come back and try more.
An award winning restaurant is the AL FRESCO located in Crowne plaza hotel, Dubai. The décor being so siple yet elegant I fell in love the moment I stepped in. With an open air terrace seating this place promises to accommodate more guests. From starters to main courses and desserts Al Fresco prides itself for the simple and traditional preparation yet making it so flavorful.
Italian cuisine at its best !!! Chef gabrielle definitely knows what he is doing ! I can't remember the name of the seafood taglietelle pasta I had (its been a while) but i am coming back for it. Last but not least Lerriane's service was phenominal.

An excellent choice for Italian food lovers!
Al Fresco has mastered the classic Italian dishes, and yet still managed to elevate them to even a higher level of deliciousness. The chefs have thoroughly thought of each stage of each meal, choosing the most authentic ingredients, using the traditional preparation methods, and plating each dish as though it was a piece of art.
Their Italian chefs have learned great methods from their ancestors and incorporated their methods and skills to make each dish as authentic as Italians like, and as tasty as the rest of the world to enjoy!
And what's best? Al Fresco has just launched their 'Best of Italy' menu that will run until December of this year. This menu has been made in correlation to the restaurant's best sellers. I tried a couple of dishes from that menu, and I can clearly see why each of those are best sellers! I strongly recommend giving this limited-time menu a try while you dine at Al Fresco!
My personal favorite dishes were their fish dishes! I tried a couple of them from their cod fish to their turbot fillet and both were so delicious! But the deliciousness doesn't end there, I also really enjoyed their bruschetta. Their incredibly tasty bruschetta is not like any bruschetta I've ever tried! Unlike the typical (and sometimes boring) tomato & olive oil topping, their bruschetta has got it all! Tomatoes, basil, garlic, oil, mushrooms and topped with two perfectly fried quail eggs. It is definitely a must-try!
Overall, I had an excellent time at Al Fresco and I sincerely look forward to coming back!
I love this place. I discovered it a few months ago and I keep coming back!This humble place is the perfect casual dining location. I tried their pork selection with their gravy sauce and I was not disappointed! Their service was also pretty good, the waiter was smiley and polite.

I went to Al Fresco for the first time on Saturday night with some friends.
The restaurant is small and cosy, nothing extraordinary about the interiors but it does was have a warm welcoming vibe.
The servers are very polite and helpful, I'd specially like to mention Sidney's name and thank her for her hospitality.

Chicken quattro stagioni pizza
Marques de Casa Concha, Chardonnay
Watermelon juice
The food was delicious!
They serve complimentary bread with roasted garlic, Olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I would generally despise the idea of eating garlic on a night out but these roasted garlic were sooo good and did not leave the strong stench.
The sea bass was very delicious, fish was fresh and cooked to perfection.
The pizza was decent and the Bruschetta was amazing. I loved the topping...was different from the regular tomato and parmesan cheese topping that you get everywhere else.
The prices are decent.
It's definitely a must try place...especially if you enjoy Italian food!
A cute lil place.....i would rather call it a romantic place for lunch. I celebrated a friends birthday. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They helped us alot with pre-decoration. Ambience is perfect. They have an open kitchen soo you can see them live cooking. Food was not bad. We had their pasta with white sauce and pink sauce. Also we had their Mediterranean pizza and margarita pizza. For drinks we had watermelon juice and lemon mint which were refreshing.
Well done chef, the pizza was great ! It was thin , crisp ,juicy and cooked to perfection.

The jalapeños gave it such a lovely taste, I can't appreciate it enough.
Last night I had dinner at frescos with a bunch of friends and I really enjoyed the Barata and salad there and for the main course had the rack of lamb with grilled potatoes ... It was great but was wishing the portion size was a little bit bigger but over all for taste it was fantastic but in my opinion they need to pay more attention to the outside area because we kept having to draw their attention to us in order for some one to come take or orders .

All the dishes we ordered were so good, I personally loved the noki (if that's how you spell it). The veal and the braised beef were awesome as well.
The drinks were a bit steep on the price though and the cocktails were not that great.
However the food and the cozy outdoor seating more than made up for it.

I remember giving Al Fresco a shot after staring at its homey interiors while I was at Crowne Plaza Hotel. The moment I entered the restaurant I felt like I was transported to a different country, and I felt like I wasn't even in a hotel. The glass interiors are simple and tastefully done. I may be biased because I am a sucker for rooms with a lot of windows for natural light to pass, but I noticed my food looking fresher and more delectable because of it, and I wasn't complaining. Everything from the origami like objects on the ceiling, to the wine bottles and framed photographs on the side, totally complimented the overall ambiance and feel of the restaurant.
I really wish I could say that to the food, however. The complimentary plate of bread was delicious, and I cannot stay away from the roasted garlic and olive paste that come along with it. I has fun pairing different breads with the filling that I actually asked for more. I ordered the Carbonara and a Tiramisu after the meal. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't waiting for long before the food arrived, and it tastes delicious, the presentation was simple, to the point, there was ample amounts of meat and sauce on my pasta and for a Carbonara, and I didn't feel the need to season the dish with more pepper. But what the chefs lacked was the mere basics of Italian cooking. My pasta was overcooked and almost mushy to the point, but I ate it anyway because I was hungry and didn't really mind it at the time. I've had my fair share of paste dishes, and almost all of them we're barely overcooked, and had that certain 'bite' to it. The Tiramisu however, ended the meal with a smile on my face. It wasn't too sweet, and the slight coffee note brought the entire dessert together.
I will come back for more, and I cannot wait to try out more dishes that this beautiful place can whip up on a nice summer day.
Always will be one of my favorite Italians, convenient location and just a beautiful concept all around. When you think that this restaurant is 2nd level of a hotel you wouldn't expect the atmosphere and vibe it gives off. Really pleased every occasion I attend. Thank you

Went there with a couple friend on their recommendation. Really liked the food.. Their fresh breads with fresh roasted garlic were excellent. For the main course ordered Ravioli and Vegetariana Pizza. Ravioli with crunchy vegetables and spinach filling was nice apart from the spicy oil which they added when I asked them to make it spicy. I was expecting more of green chilli flavour.. So ask them for chilli flakes on the side if you like your pasta a bit spicy. Pizza was good and oven baked.

It's our staple family favorite the food is yummy portions are really good and service is fab! It's a must have whenever our family reunites!
I liked the ambience of this place. We went there because we had a food coupon. Apparently our overall experience turned out to be average.
The food was ok - the bread basket and the pesto were fresh ... and we had literally filled our tummies with that.
Then we had ordered a Fungi pizza and Spaghetti aglio e olio
- The pizza tasted nice, but wasn't crisp enough to our liking. Plus it was served cold as the waiter wanted to serve both the dishes together.
- Spaghetti was a bit undercooked than al dente. Had very limited garlic and had a thick coating of oil. (won't recommend)
- My drink (mint lemonade) was extremely overpriced - compared to the quantity, and tasted extremely sweet. Basically that was the only viable option as they dont have a proper drinks menu.
The staff kept flipping between the tables and we had no single server, which was kinda weird.
Overall assessment - 'average'
A nice ambience, loves the Ambience. Service was good can be better. We ordered the pepperoni pizza it was the best I've had so far. Although I am not a pasta lover the penne was quiet delicious. I plan to go back just for the Pizza. Not forgetting the garlic sauce and bread.
With a glass ceiling that gives a lot of light in the restaurant this is a nice place to dine in.
The food, Al Fresco is a restaurant that delivers.Warm breads at the start of the meal with simple traditional Italian dishes.
The pasta dishes are flavoursome, and the meat cooked to perfection.A place to re visit for sure.

Little hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant with a quaint, traditional Italian atmosphere. I think that the reason that I love this restaurant is because when I am there I don't feel like I am in Dubai-it feels like I am actually in a normal place. Probably wouldn't appeal to the more show-off, fake obnoxious types who want to see and be seen. This is a place for good food, to enjoy with good company, and thank heaven they serve real pork! I have never had anything that I don't like at Al Fresco. The bread selection, olive pate and roasted garlic is fabulous. Recommended dishes include any of their pizzas, lasagna and the veal escalope. The last time that I was there the service wasn't the best. I think that management could be a bit more hands on.

Good authentic italian food...friendlty staff and very nice food...a little on the expensive side...but the ambiance and decor makes up for it...the biggest problem when going here is not getting parking and alot of traffic while getting to the restaurant...best way to get there is using the metro

Cozy little place. It looks old. Depends on how you look at it. Sexy jazz music playing as I enter the place. I Immediately wished I'd brought my smoking pipe.
They brought us 2 trays of bread. I love the garlic.

The food is nicely balanced. It is rather refreshing to finally taste some control and balance. Not the usual too salty, too sweet food you taste everywhere in dubai.
After all that pasta , my family has space for dessert!

El Fresco is a very cozy , small, lovely decorated restaurant, serving Italian cuisine!
The place itself as said, does not make you feel like you are sitting in one of Crown Plaza's outlets! It feels like a romantic city escape!
The food to keep it very short looks fantastic- if it would only taste fantastic as well...
Food presentation lovely done, and also the menu creates the want of tasting it all, however, there is little taste only.
But the quality of food is less of an issue when you rate the service!
The waitress was super friendly, greeting us in such a welcoming way, that you already felt comfortable and wanted to stay for the entire night!
She sat us down, handed over the menus and recommended on spot, in a rather professional less pushy way! She seemed to enjoy recommending us drinks and food, and enjoyed making us feel comfortable!
Drinks were served in less than two minutes, even though the place was busy!
Starters to share as well as main courses were served in a quite comfortable pace!
But the one thing which is stuck on my mind is the moment when she asked if I wanted pepper on my noodles - and came with this huge pepper mill! It was most probably bigger then the waitress herself and I thought, how
could she possibly lift it up, but she did and she did with a smile!
The Bad: the food was honestly a bit tasteless
But we are here to rate the service, and this was very ....
Good: would definitely come back to enjoy a lovely evening, being greeted, served and entertained by this passionate and lovely lady!

Me and my friend had a dinner in this restaurant. Everything went perfectly well. The moment you enter the restaurant the staff will immediately accommodate you plus they’re so friendly and approachable. The food was really amazing, especially the shrimp which we had as appetiser. Wanted to try Italian pizza.. and I headed here.. the food was great.. though it took little while to get the food on table but this could be just forgotten with the pleasing staff and their excellent hospitality.. the interior of the restaurant was good.. made of wood .. So about the food.. they didn’t have any pizza with chicken but upon request the staff prepared Margherita pizza with chicken and cheese topping.. it was yum.. we also tried Risotto.. both were too good..

Not my first visit at Al Fresco, and one of the maximum actual and captivating Italian restaurants in Dubai “with a true history“, in comparison to plenty of “would-be” Italians. Food fine could had been rewarded with five stars, service and ambience with 4.Five stars: no loud Italian music, no faux Italian waiters, and many others.
But sadly we made a reservation, whilst upon arrival being approached by using a workforce member, supplying us a 25% bargain voucher on the entire bill. Once we made clean we had a reservation, the man quickly got here up with the excuse that the bargain was simplest relevant for walk-in customers … and not for reserved tables.
We had a brilliant night time however the manner you deal with your dependable and pro-active customers is rude and unacceptable. Because of that, it’s just a no pass (once more)!
