@akibadori was an amazing experience.
Customer centric operation! Great food and inviting interiors makes it a place one would want to visit again. I am really fond of Japanese food. And I think if made well it’s something people can enjoy. I ordered Ariba rock shrimps and don’t let the name fool you as they were perfectly soft and are basically dynamite shrimps. My favourite was the Dynamite shrimp Maki (sushi) I thoroughly enjoyed the Sashimi salads & Seafood gyoza. The wasabi prawns were done to perfection and I finished the entire platter. I was so full that I couldn’t eat much of my Yaki soba noodles. However I had a bite and they were divine. The most interesting bit was the pizza which they claim is like no other. I watched it bake infront of me and I can tell you it was light and different and I enjoyed it. For desserts I highly recommend the Lotus cheesecake. I put @akanadori on my top 5 list of asian restaurants in Dubai. A must visit place! #japanesecuisine at its best!
Worth the drive out for 30 mins. Parking is easy, staff is friendly, plenty of seating space and true to design district - done up really well.
The rock shrimp was amazing, and so was the pizza. The shrimp gyoza and sushi was good too, but I have had better. Go here for the pizza and shrimp, of course the ambience too

⭐️ The Katsu Sando is out of this world 🤤 I recommend getting it medium rare! It’s a little on the sweeter side, which I didn’t mind 😋
-The Sashimi Salad had a good burst of freshness but was overdone with the dressing :/
-I tried the ‘Truffle Strata’ and ‘New York Pizza’ which I will say is kinda overrated but, it’s still some good quality pizza 🙌🏼 They also have a live pizza station- so you know it’s fresh outta the oven!
⭐️ The Lotus Cheesecake is an absolute dream! It looks and tastes 10/10! The best lotus cheesecake I’ve tried so far ❤️
⭐️They follow all the health and safety precautions for COVID!
In my opinion hands down the best pizza in the U.A.E.
The marinara sauce is insanely good, the dough chewy and salty and the fact that you can pair a pizza with some of the best sushi I’ve ever eaten AND and insanely good wagyu Sando is just a dream. My only bugbear with Akiba is that the beer is really expensive at AED 67 for a pint. I’d honestly order more if a beer wasn’t more expensive than my pizza.
I was quite surprised to hear that this Japanese themed restaurant was known for serving some of the best pizzas in Dubai. I’m a pizza lover for life so I had to check it out myself. 💁🏻♀️
Definitely not exaggerating when I say that I have never tasted a pizza so fresh, light and flavourful in Dubai. However, I didn’t enjoy the Wagyu Beef Sando at all, the sauce was way too sweet - and I have a huge sweet tooth! The truffle fries and dimsums were good too but not exceptional.
Overall Review:
Food: 3.5/5 - PIZZASS!! Go to this place for their pizzas, you will not be disappointed. I tried the Diavola and Margherita. Didn’t enjoy the rest of the food as much though. The cocktails were also extremely concentrated but they have a 2+2 on drinks here.
Service: 4.5/5 - Food arrived hot and quick, the restaurant seemed understaffed but the servers did a great job trying to get our orders to the kitchen and back on time.
Value for money: 3/5 - Pizzas were absolutely worth the price.
Its like walking into a street in Tokyo. The colorful neon lights in the whole restaurant sets the perfect ambience at night. We tried the Buffala pizza and it tasted so fresh. I think its one of the best I’ve had. Once you try this, it will be very difficult to go back to american style pizzas.
This is how a pizza should be! Had the Margherita, simply amazing. The dough ... the cheese... the flavor. Probably the best in town so far.
Also tried seafood gyoza - nicely pan fried and great taste. Not the dry and dull kind.
Wagyu katso sando - crispy bread, had it medium cooked - I like a bit of sweet flavor, so enjoyed it. Had the yaki udon - I like my noodles well done, cud have been cooked slightly more, flavorful and enjoyed it. At the end had the Nutella custard taiyaki - wish the fish was bigger ... amazing ambiance ... the walk at design district is lovely ..
took 1 star away as I kept on asking for recommendations and the staff just cudnt provide any and neither give good insights to the taste ... also a bit slow in clearing up and cleaning up ... I had to constantly remind them. Otherwise nice polite staff and a must visit place. Great job! Shall be back IA.

I absolutely love the drinks, pizza, wagyu gyoza and fries here. The team is also very warm and helpful. However, find it a tad expensive. Would definitely come more often if I could.

A tokyo/japanese concept with fusion of modern cuisine restaurant with typical blinking and flashing neon signs and benchmark seating areas, bar with live dj playing stations and excellent service.
The ambience was modern with slightly glitzy but fun.
I really enjoy these new age styles and I enjoyed here too.
They have an enclosed outdoor seating area too, with cozy friendly surroundings but no glimpse to the views in the area.
Service was quite quick and they are focussed on serving sincerely and wih pleasure.
My order was-
1.● Seafood gyoza. 49 dhs. 4.5/5. Lightly pan fried momo/dimsums with two sauces. Specially loved the light spiced sauce which I never had before.
2. •Maki roll. Crunchy Californian. With caviar and crunchiness and a crabstick in the middle, it was quite good. 4/5. 43 dhs.
3. The plain fries were large in amount. 20 dhs. 4/5.
4. Mojito. 4/5. Well done. Virgin. 32 dhs.
5. Amricano coffee. Customised to our requirements. 4/5. 10 dhs.
Their Pizzas are the highlights which we didn't taste this time.
Also they are fully licensed for bar and have a large repertoire.
Overall I found the price seems premium but we have to take into consideration of the special locality, high end feel and looks.

The Decor in this restaurant was very cool and retro with displays of neon lights all around the restaurant. The waiter was very attentive and serving us quite quickly. The maki roll was full of different flavours combined together as well as being moist from the sufficient ammount if sauces on top. The roll was greatly spiced and we loved the caviar on top. We enjoyed the environment giving us retro japan vibes.
Go for the Icecream, and stay for the pizza
My go to spot with friends and guests from out of town. Great food and even better ambiance. Service is equally good! I’ve never heard disappointment over recommending Akiba to any friend.

Looking for some good flavorful Japanese food ? Then this is the place to be. I came here with my colleagues for a team lunch and the food was spectacular. I got to try out a lot of items off their menu and all of them were delicious to say the least. Staff are very attentive and helpful

The vibe of the place is cool and unique - a bit different which is nice;
We tried the crispy shrimp salad, the calamari, the wagu tacos, the yagi soba and the truffle cheese fries - all highly recommended.

Japnese design tradition should take over D3 in Dubai! So should the Japanese flavor tradition. Discovered this place by chance and did not regret it at all! Its got culture, its got taste, and its got a sense of comfort to back it all up. We tried the Pizza, Rock Shrimps, Gyozas and Miso Cod. It really reminded us of our time in Tokyo. If you are looking for a piece of Tokyo culture, and you have been enamored by Ramusake or Zuma, give this place a go. And oh, they are extremely reasonable price wise!
Awesome place!! So we ordered spicy akiba sauce fries, veggie sushi and margarita pizza.. everything was delicious. The best part was, they made the veggie sushi nori-free as per our special request..! ♥️

Ambiance: Restaurant was not so busy. I liked the fact that we can play video game during we are waiting the food.
Food: we tried sushi, noodles, tacos and pizza. Food was average expect for pizza which are really nice.
Staff: good and quick service. I really appreciated the fact that they replace the noodle with the sushi without charging us considering that the dish was not my taste (too much sauce and salt)
I recommend this place for pizza and its tokyo ambiance where you can play arcade games (only fighting)
A very cool restaurant in Dubai Design District with vintage arcade games, amazing neon ambience and chill vibes, the starters are absolutely amazing specially rock shrimp and calamari. They have really good pizza selection from the wood oven and more for maincourse but to finish it all off you have to try the lotus cheese cake.

If you love mortal compat, pikatchu all those things, then you have to go to akibadori. Had amazing sushi there, the design inside the restaurant is super cool, you get to play mortal combat ( yes, I swear) and enjoy delicious asian/euro food. I just wish they start to give discount for cabin crew 🙏🏻 then the restaurante would be just my favorite. 😍

Akiba Dori is named after a famous street in Japanese with inspiration from arcades, manga etc. The neon lights and the funky style of interiors is definitely a treat to the eye and adds a lot to the entire dining experience. There is also a section for arcade games. Now how cool is that! This bar/restaurant is great for a weekend night out!

The fries (with a great sauce) go really well with the drinks, no doubt. The sauce might be less in quantity in proportion to the fries.
Crunchy California Maki roll is a safe bet and it does taste great. Akiba Maki roll is a good option as well with the crunchy tempura chip on top.
I absolutely love the range of Neapolitan style pizzas they have! Romana was quite nice but the saltiness from the anchovies can be a little overpowering. Ortolana with the cherry tomatoes with the cheese and the crunchy radish was delicious!
Chicken Katsu Curry is a speciality here and the chicken is very cooked just right and is breaded the right amount. The curry is thick but has a depth of flavour and goes really well with rice.
Hokusai - a cocktail with a mix of gin and sake is very unique and strong and is not suited to everyone's liking.
I would surely go back to Akiba Dori for the ambience and the wonderful hospitality!
This place is famous for its Japanese food. My friends also long Japanese food so good one day we went to this place. I also tried the Japanese food here which was very good. We will go again in future

I’ve been to Akiba Dori a few dozen times in the last year. Never had such consistency in quality and experience, ever. The wagyu tacos 🌮sushi rolls 🍣tuna tartar 😋pizzas 🍕- it’s all meant to be enjoyed along with great company and a cold pint of Asahi
Fun little spot with good food. The place is a little hidden, noticed it on the Zomato Gold list so decided to try it out. They’ve got a unique Japanese style street vibe decor with retro arcade games. Will definitely go back

Calamari rice is a bomb...it is spicy, not your ordinary japanese calamari recipe...and the Crispy Maki Sushi is just right...Their Twisted recipe matches my twisted Tongue. Cant wait to try other food in their menu.

One of my favorite restaurants in D3. The food is authentic Japanese with theme that reminds you of Akihabara maybe thats where the name came from. The best part about the restaurant is they serve Kirin too 😁
Quick dinner at Dubai design district. I've been eying on this place since long time. They served Modern Japanese cuisine and Italian cuisine. We tried Japanese at I am craving for sashimi. The food is so great specially the tuna taco and sashimi. Service is great and the food is fantastic.

We tried their pizza, which was just ok. But the katsu curry was amazing and worth trying. Don't forget to try their Sashimi. 4/5 for food.

I would love to see more vegetarian or vegan options on the japanese menu though.
Dubai Design District has some very interesting choices but @akibadori was shining and standing out with its pink logo and funky neon light design inside-out! .

Located in the quiet neighborhood of D3, you would not believe this place exists. I've been here 3 times and counting. They serve some EXCELLENT fod, and they're licensed too *wink*
Have tried quite a few menu items: Akiba Rock Shrimp, Wagyu Tacos, Tuna Tataki, Yaki Soba, Furikake Fries, Diavola Pizza, Matcha Molten Cake and Panko Crusted Brownie. And I'd order every of those items again. The quality is par excellence.
The staff are great, friendly and polite. Some of them will crack a joke or 2 with you. Service is attentive & quick most of the times.
They also have some arcade games - if you'd like to relive that child in you.
There's Zomato Gold for the drinks. However, food tends to get a little pricey. Specially if you're someone like me who like order & eat a lot :D
Overall, a great hangout place. And I can't wait to go back to try so much more the menu has on offer.
Overall the concept of the store is nice.
You’ll see the new Akihabara concept (Game and Otaku). Kinda miss the old Akihabara which was more of electricity district...but what’s so ever, the food is nice - would recommend the Pizza’s more than the traditional food and the portion is pretty decent for Dubai.
