Limited options on drinks and food, but really good service.. Fun if u wanna hang out have a couple of beers and watch a game. Has outdoor and indoor seating and a pool table.
Great place for a night out with friends..the food options are not that great, but it’s compensated with the drinks..can get a bit smoky. We visited the place on a Thursday night..it was packed, but luckily we had booked our table in advance..Icing on the cake was we could use our zomato gold for drinks. The servers there are doing a great job,we felt that they were understaffed but everyone kept their cool and had a smile on the face.We would definitely recommend and will surely visit again.
Loves this place as it can accommodate the family as well. Lot of options for beer lovers(even their food menu is limited) and enjoyed their happy hours too.Quiet place and you can sit outdoor enjoying the drinks.Seperate area for smokers !!
Highly recommended for a casual evening with friends and they accept zomato gold for drinks.
A great place to hang out for a quiet evening with some friends over drinks! Carter’s location ensures it isn’t too crowded or noisy but accessible since it’s within the mall.
Extra points for their polite and efficient staff who made their presence felt at all times but not in an obtrusive way! The ambience, seating, music were all on point!
Beer options were good. The mocktails, though limited in variety, the ones we tried - Virgin Kiss and Ray of Sunshine were really good.
Them accepting Zomato Gold for drinks makes it even more appealing! Definitely returning!
Have been here twice on a monday for Quiz night . The ambience is good with outside seating available . They also have free valet parking . So in all a good place to go .
Always my favorite place for decades... Great hang out excellent service and spacious and the energy is unbelievably awesome. After all this while, carter's has been maintained well and the staff is courteous.
Great pub with great food! Can be a little
Smokey sometimes but it’s still worth a visit for after work drinks and a bite to eat. The fish and chips are good and so is the Caesar Salad.
This spot is an added charm for Wafi. Very well priced and the staff were pleasant. Personally I feel the service can improve. There were delays, some repeated request and too many staff for 1 table. My main course was delayed that was due to some confusion within the staff circle; however they kept me happy with an extra side dish which was mash potato. The food was spot on enjoyed it with a beer. The ambiance, fixtures and craftsmanship applied to this place is unique.
This visit was during our Christmas lunch from my company, hence we selected the Carter's Festive Set Menu and this included starter, main course, dessert and booze (alcohol) all for 360 which allowed us 3 to 4 hours of getting hammered. They also have happy hours from 4 PM to 8 PM daily which helped us reach a point beyond hammered. It was delightful.
A well known name with familiarity which we thought to try the cuisine of what they have in the menu.
It is more of continental food that we browsed the menu given by the staff of the restaurant.
We had a very plain selection of food which is blant to the taste for our palette. We had chicken steak with fries, calamrie fried with fries. It was a good thing to try here.
Ordered :
Drinks : Stella , bullfrog , jd with Pepsi , corona , baileys
Lunch : Thai chicken green curry and veg club sandwich
Ambience and service was great
It is got a casual and fine dining feel to it as well
It’s more useful if u have a big party and we used the entertainer voucher .
Great place to come again and again and again
Had a unplanned visit to Carter' with my family.....and to my surprise it was a good and quiet place for having drinks.....and it was kid friendly so a big advantage for me.☺
Food was kinda ok....but their prawn curry was yum.
Cosy pub with a good amount of seating. Wafi 20dhs offer was going on and we happily indulged in the 4 special starters offered in promotion. Chicken popcorn was kind of dry...calamari fry was good...chicken wings were really moist and crunchy good...lastly the dynamite prawns which were simple awesome! Very happy with the speedy service and polite staff.
And so we came to wafi for their 20th annivesary promotion. Some restaurants are offering 20aed on select items from their menu. We decided to try cartel and twas a good call! We ordered calamari and dynamite shrimp and it's both nice. 20aed each well spent! Burger is too juicy and their sausage is huge, half meter size. Luckily, we went also on ladies night. Got a free rose wine. 😍
Shout out to kristel who was so helpful and accomodating. She also let us try multiple sauces before we decided on the sausage. Overall, a nice evening.. 😊
Friday brunch that included mocktails and appetizers...Unlocked the zomato gold on 2+2 on drinks..
Friendly staff, big space and a very quiet afternoon spent as it wasn't crowded...Ordered chicken wings and dynamite prawns with virgin pina and virgin kiss...
Lazy afternoon spent well with good music...
The Pyramids at Wafi have not been around as long those in Giza but they have been around for a long time still. A cluster of disparate restaurants makes this worth a visit and among them, the bar called Carter’s.
The place has plenty of space, both indoor and on the terrace. The evening we visited, there was a quiz going on inside. We sat on the terrace for a coupe of beer and to chat. Both were accomplished without much trouble as there is no blaring music playing into your ears at all times!
The place is very well maintained. There is a large bar area inside. The tables have plenty of space between them and you can spend the time chilling out.
The menu has the usual array of beers on the tap and other spirits. The food menu isn’t bad too.
Really liked the laidback vibe of the place, quite a departure from the hustle and bustle of some other bars around town.
Well worth a visit when you want to sit and chat with friends!
So i went with my friends over here on a weekday, I love the setup, the outside seating area too.
It wasn't too crowded.
The drinks and food and karoke was average.
My rating:
Food 3/5
Ambience 4/5
Value for money 3/5
It's a great place which isn't noisy at all and has indoor as well as outdoor sitting which is quite well arranged. Happy Hours are generally from late afternoon till 8 pm. Consider the place when you wish to have a drink with friends or family at peace.
Nice ambience with effective lighting to set in the proper mood to lift spirits....a good choice in the menu and efficient service...good crowd....an evening well spent for a lasting impression....
Was welcomed by staff and made to sit in a perfect place. Atmosphere was chillaxed and great ambience. Had Chardonnay wine along with potato hassleback as a starter which was a new entry in the menu. It was baked potato with cheese sauce. It was baked well and tasted great.
Main course was wild mushrooms risotto which was requested to be a little spicy. It was served to perfection
Topping was the dessert which was a toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. It was sumptuous
Ambience 4/5
Food 4/5
Service 5/5
Nice place to go grab a few drinks.
The place is quite big with friendly staff, good food and rather quick service.
A refurbishment would really do good for the place I believe.
Been here a couple of times and would highly recommend this place for a nice gathering.
On a Thursday they had a live band playing and that was quite annoying really. Not too sure if it was the band itself or the songs or what but🙈
However visiting this place again for sure
Been here a couple of times, basic bar which has seen its hay day. The furniture and decor is tired. Needs a major uplift! The staff is great, friendly team. The food menu leaves a lot to be desired. We had he popcorn chicken and the shrimp. The chicken did taste like it was fried in used oil. This place has a lot of scope for improvement, with 25 dhs for a pint of beer, its good value for money.
As we were too early for dinner at Marcos, we popped in to Carters on a early evening. Had couple of beers, crispy calamari and fries. Beers were served in 10 mins and the rest was served within 15 mins. Off course the chilled beer cant ever go wrong. Crispy calamari was just average , fries were good. I love the ambience of this place and the service is good.
Had a group gathering after the event. Food was pretty ordinary and fair enough for price. If you are good at quizzes, visit on Mondays and good offer for wheat beer lovers.
I'm visiting this place few months now, and only I can say the place is great the service very good the waitresses are very nice all the time. The manager always approach me and make sure I'm having a good time.
I can highly recommend the salads crab avocado, and the seafood salad, something magnificent with a little bit of spice added.
For main as I'm a seafood lover always take the salmon or the seafood pie which is one of my favorite as I haven't found nowhere else and the portion is big.
This place never disappointed me just love to go there and enjoy on the terrace while watching the water, so relaxing.
They also do a lovely Friday brunch with variety of foods.
Keep up the good work👍.
Nice big place but good service and many drink options, tried the wagyu beef burger and it was a bit disappointing, the bread was a bit stale and the patty was too well done but it was fulfilling, the fat french fries (chips) was great though. They have a nice pool table and a lovely outdoor area.
Really nice place to go to. For starters, the bbq glazed chicken wings are really good!! The pan seared salmon fillet is great too, as well as the lamb shepherd pie with mushrooms. The drinks are great too. The place looks beautiful and the staff are very nice.
Went in the other day to catch up with some friends. Ordered hoegaarden beer it was for just 25 dhs on a thrusday night which is quite rare. Sitting is quite sufficient and comfortable. Service is pretty quick. Quality of food and drinks and amazing . Hygiene wise this place is amazing. They also have a good valet parking service. Overall experience was good .
My brother recommended we would check out this place with a group of friends! What made it even more exciting was they had awesome happy hour offers on a Friday from 5-8!
The service was pretty quick and the staff friendly! We had reserved prior to the visit - but the place was pretty quiet for a Friday evening! Although we had a great time - I feel the seating arrangements at the smoking area side could be much more comfortable. The non smoking seating arrangement was great! However while accompanying friends who smoke; sitting at the smoking area was a little uncomfortable!
Overall experience : Great! :)
One of my first favorite pubs in Dubai. The retro British charm is what actually brings you to Carter's time and again. Great happy hour offers. Relaxed and laid-back ambiance coupled with a good menu of food and drinks makes Carter's worth a visit when you're going to the Pyramids @ Wafi. Crowded on weekends so make a reservation before you visit just in case.

Carter’s is a classic British Pub that’s been around for almost two decades and still maintains its old school charm. It took the city by storm when it first opened, as there were fewer places as cool as Carter’s around and for a long time it was a hotspot.
With the opening of numerous new places and the city’s nightlife shifting to new Dubai areas, Carter’s doesn’t get the same crowd anymore, yet the place is quite a nice spot if you want to enjoy a relaxed drink. They serve an English food menu and an extensive drinks menu.
The staff and service at this place have been perfect. Very polite and courteous.
Definitely, a great option if you are looking for chilled out bars on the old Dubai side.
Came here over the weekend with friends. They are having great summer offers on drinks 20 dirhams for wine and 25 for a pint of beer. The bar has a laid back vibe with great staff and service. Silika
Good food! Great ambiance on weekends! They have great happy hours on their drinks.. Even the food is very reasonable and tasty ! Loved the mocktails
Carter's is a nice place to chill out with friends. Their menu options are many but I don't really like eating here, food is not their speciality, however if you really are craving something to much try the crispy calamari. Their wines are the best and I also like a few cocktails here Long Island, Bloody Mary, Mai-tai. The crowd is a bit weird, there are children sometimes who are allowed inside. But on quite days, it's a good place to chill with friends and listen to some good music.
Loved their cheese and ham pie 3.5/5 (am used to spending a few euros on authentic ham and cheese pies so the costing affects the rating drastically but taste wise it's a good 4.5/5)
Thoroughly enjoyed the Sheppard's pie too, taste is a good 4/5!
Definitely go back for a pint and some grub!
- update: club sandwich is just delicious!!!
Went to Carter's today for lunch and I was kind d of disappointed with the food and the service. The servers were kind of forgetful and we needed to remind them at times. The food was okay, nothing great. We had ordered the Thai Green Chicken Curry, Salmon and Cheese sandwich and the Bangers and Mash. The Bangers and Mash was average compared to other places, to me the favourite dish was the Salmon and Cheese sandwich, the cream cheese had a lot of flavour and the smoked salmon tasted amazing. The Thai Green Chicken Curry tasted really good and had a lot of flavour.
Carter’s is a gastropub and sports bar that boasts of a charming colonial vibe. Apart from the usual pub grub, Carter’s also features some English favorites and gourmet dishes. Carter’s is a great place to chill out with friends over a drink or two, catch up on a match on the big Telly or enjoy the music in a friendly atmosphere.
Nice place if you like to sit with your friends and chit chat with some good light background music. Staffs are friendly. Was not crowded when we went der on a Friday evening. Chicken wings and the breads to start with was nice. Would have liked if they have a bit more food in the menu.
When you have a mall in Dubai, in the shape of a pyramid, with walls adorned with hieroglyphs, Ramasses II greeting you at the gate along with Anubis, then little wonder that there will be a pub called Carter’s. The Englishman who shot to unprecedented fame when he ‘stumbled’ upon the untouched tomb of boy-king Tutankhamen, was celebrated for opening up the preparatory after-life of the ancient Egyptians to the whole world. That was just the history appetiser. For those that want to know about more Howard Carter or King Tut, read up. If you want to know about the ‘meteoric’ iron used for King Tut’s dagger, read this: MeteoriteIronForKingTutsDagger
I was pleasantly surprised that Carters, a Brit pub could serve such good Asian fare, the Lankan and Thai curries need your attention, dear reader. Rest are as it should be, typically pub-liked but served without rush and with a good dose of humor, you have to give it to their servers, doing a good job there.
Located in the Wafi pyramids the place has a nice colonial feel to it. Wanted to grab a drink in some place quiet and Carter's fits the bill perfectly. The ambience and music was perfect just as the cocktails which we ordered. The bull frog and pinacolada were made very well and served with a generous portion of mixed nuts. Didn't try the food though so can't comment on it. Our server Gunther was really good. He informed me about the ladies night and other promotions as well. Definitely going back!

Mark and I got to spend another Friday night over some drinks and chill music after a filling dinner, a couple of weekends back. Special thanks to our friends from Carter's Bar & Restaurant for having us over. Carter's Bar & Restaurant, located at Pyramids Wafi, is one of the gastro pubs in Dubai which is perfect for a chill night. Its interiors radiate a colonial charm which evident in its extensive bar, elevated dining areas reminiscent of a cozy house, and a focal stage.
Wafi pyramids has a small Food town having the most hype food outlets. Variety of restaurants caters different cuisines. And to guarantee perfect dining experience it has the capacity of beautiful Rooftop Gardens , contemporary indoor as well as alfresco seating. We had a chance to try Carter’s , tucked inside the Pyramids Wafi Carter’s – gastro pub, sports bar and restaurant offers a delicious menu featuring international cuisine including English favorites and special gourmet delights, presented in casual and comfortable surroundings.
Been here a couple of times, their food is excellent. I always get the fish and chips.
Buffet on Fridays when I can get over my sushi and smoked salmon cravings... With a live band playing it's a bit loud ..but lively... definitely coming here for a second time..
Always a fun place to hang out and just chill with very good service. Philip and I can't remember the other name were fabulous! Super helpful.
Had a band playing some blues till midnight.. Set a nice tone to the evening..

Visited during happy hours on a Thursday night . Place was super packed . We dined outside . Food was served within 10 mins . Inspite of place being so crowded the service was really very good as the drinks & food was within the given time . I would highly recommend this place as the service , food & drinks are really good 👍
Ended up for the weekend brunch accidentally after checking the Zomato brunch listings. One of the best buffet lunch spreads in Dubai. They had me at Bacon. With an old British pub setting and outdoor seating for smokers (beware of cats, they might just nip your food if you are away from your table) it is just about perfect for a lazy weekend brunch.
One of the very few places that serve good bacon and sausages. The best part though was the Yorkshire pudding and a live meat station. Wash it down with a Guinness and your friday is sorted.
Haven't tried the a la carte menu yet, but if they maintain the same taste, I'm sure it will be great too.
Highly recommended, especially the weekend brunch.
When Wafi first opened the Pyramids, Carter’s quickly became one of THE places in Dubai to go to / be seen at. I remember there was actually a queue to get in on weekends – you had to know people, or have friends who knew people to get in. How times change. And whilst they’re not quite (yet) dragging people off the streets, they’re not exactly packing them in anymore either, no matter what sort of happy hour and/or brunch packages they offer. And that’s a pity because Carter’s remains a true gem – as a pub bar, sports bar, happy hour bar, pub grub restaurant – whatever. The whole colonial veranda look, highlighted by those cool ceiling fans just says relax, chill, have a drink man and forget about them worries. Or in this weather, sitting outside in their beautiful terrace – magic.
Believe it or not, in all these years the only solids I’ve had at Carter’s have been their endless supply of beer munchies…and breakfast (brunch actually), which has been typically British – you know: bacon, sausages, beans, roast lamb and the odd curry – brilliant. Post heyday, service has been great – warm, friendly and attentive even. So if you’re in the neighbourhood and fancy a wee bevvy with your mates after work, or a quiet evening out with the missus, or even a hearty brunch with the family, Carter’s is most certainly worth a visit.
Strange I didn't review this till now as I frequent quite for brunch or weekend meet ups....
This place is a English pub and yes they do show the Footie games so its great place for Footie fans or if there is isn't a any imp.games then just sit and get a beer or a drink and enjoy carters ....I have tasted or eaten most which is on the menu and I can say my choices will be the calamari....cod and chips which is fish and chips .....bangers and mash and the steak tenderloin or t bone steak which is pretty good ....People can enjoy the interior of carters or you can sit outside and enjoy the winter breeze ....the service is good and staff is there to suggest you the dishes as well
A really good place to grab a drink in the winter. The drinks are a bit pricey though and the food is a bit bland.
Stick to the drinks and special offers.
Been here a couple of times, their food is excellent. I always get the fish and chips. Their happy hour ends at 8pm I believe, and the discount on drinks are pretty good.
Ambience : 2.5/5
Value for money: 3/5
Went to Carters for the Friday Brunch and I had a ball there. It was a farewell that had been arranged and they gave us a big L table to sit on. The vibe of the place was so so good and it would super cool if they opened their doors and windows (once the weather gets better of course). The best part of the brunch was that there were 3 restaurants involved and we could pick up Continental food from Inside Carters, thai and Chinese from Thai Chi (lol) which was amazinnngg! And Italian from Medzo (which I couldn't even save up much space for eventually).
You could either chose to the alcohol or non alcohol pass (which is sometimes a little hard for the non drinkers if there isn't a non alcohol pass) and literally almost everything after that is just as per your whims and fancy.
Big ups to the staff that was cooperating with Us lot and they gave us a great experience.
Special mention to the dessert section in Carters which had the orgasmic cheesecake and the pinkish looking chocolate fondue which was heaven!
Their food is spectacular! Perfect place to grab a quick bite with friends! I specially love their cod fish and chips and the peri peri burger! Tastes divine !
Had an awesome night with my friends here. Never heard of this place before but it was a fun night.
Firstly, the beers are cheap here, so I'll recommend you to have beers. And the food is delicious. We had the crispy calamari and the bbq wings. It was just awesome.
It's a nice place if you wanna chill with friends and I'll definitely recommend this place.
Had our boys night out here..first time here and we had a good time here..though it was really crowded out here the staffs took care of us well..
Apart from the drinks we got the usual sides like the fries and the wedges just to munch on.
They were quite a host..would go there again to actually try out their other menu items.
so till next time cheers :P
Very friendly place. Great food and the bar/wait staff are very dependable. This evening, for no good reason, I ordered Fish'n'chips for the first time in a long time. Great. The Gastropub that knows your name. Recommended.
Carters at Wafi is a nice place to go with friends for drinks and food , the ambience is great , with seating spread out and the comfortable. The food is satisfactory, the service is a bit slow and can be improved. The prices are reasonable.
Amazing staff. We were served attentively by a waiter named Ron. Friendly and a nice sense of humour.
Now, The food...
BBQ Beef short Ribs with a cheesy bun. A generous six peice portion of heaven. I will definitely order these again.
Goats cheese and pomegranate salad. Lovely fresh gem lettuce with a well selected goats cheese.
Steak Pie. Ok so confession. This was ordered by my Dad who is an English man in his sixties that has been lucky enough to enjoy so of the best homemade pies that London had to offer a d he RAVED about this pie. Meat cooked to perfection with now toughness. A large portion with a very well baked crust.
Tuna Sandwich. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her toasted tuna sandwich with mayo and very finely sliced red pepper.
Peice of advice: Very large portions. Order wisely.
By far one of the best and most convenient pubs in Dubai.
Plently of parking space at wafi.
Food is good I'd recommend the bangers and mash however I did not enjoy the fried stuff they were good it felt like the oil was used more than 40 times!
Drinks are good and staff are attentive.
Only thing thats not so ideal in this place is that they don't have a toilet, you will have to walk outside the pub to get to the toilet.
Pretty well maintained for the fact as its one of the oldest pubs in Dubai.
I have been a big fan of the food in carter's for a long time. I mostly get take out but was there for the football season. They had an amazing atmosphere then. There must try dishes are the cod n chips, ribeye steak, veal escalope(old menu) wagyu bueger and grill ckicken. The fish n chips is the only good one i've had in dubai really. All the dishes are well worth a try guaranteed not to dissapoint.

I watched most of the Fifa 14 world cup matches here and boy was I surprised.... I could have never chosen a better place to watch the matches.... the drinks (Beer) was priced at Aed 20 a piece (pint).... and I believe they have this offer running till august end.... the pub/restaurant is clean and well maintained. The bar tenders and servers are very polite... I wouldnt say that the food was all that great but then again I onky tried the fish and chips and the fries.... food wise was not very satisfied but otherwise would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.... if you happen to be in that area or if you are looking for good value for money drinks until august end. Then this is it.
Dropped by here to watch the game on the first day of Ramadan... If my team hadn't won I would have been dissapointed but they did so this is a nicer review... I was expecting a sports atmosphere as they were advertising their special offer alcahol prices but it was completely the opposite... It's a fancy restiarant with a bar with a catch... If you wanna drink u must order somethin per person... and we did... The onion rings r oily, the crab cakes were great the club sanhwich was basically a club sandwhich and the bbq glazed chicken wings were the stars of Carter's..M not a place to watch a game but surely a place to head out for dinner j drinks sometime... N of course complimentary bread.. thumbs up to that
