After searching Dubai for AUTHENTIC MEXICAN food my search came to an end today at Cactus Jack! I worked in Mexico for about 10 years and really loved the food. So I can say I know Mexican cuisine. Catch Jack did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken Enchiladas. I think this is a really challenge for Mexican restaurants in Dubai. But not Cactus Jack. It was flavorful and presented as if I was in Guadalajara. The refried beans and rice that came with the Enchiladas were perfectly seasoned, too. My guest ordered the fajitas with chicken, shrimp and steak and was very pleased with it too. The service was good. We didn't wait for anything. Good value. It cost less money for better tasting Mexican food! I'm surprised the restaurant is not packed with guest because this is a gem and I'll be back for more. VIVA LA MEXICO!!! 🇲🇽

So cozy so mexicano the food is to die for and this has been the most closest place to my heart. every ocassion is been a memory here. friends and family kids friendly. Amazing ambiance, rich in Mexican culture

Been here three times and have always enjoyed and have great time! Shout out to Maia who has always been accommodating even during the restrictions in Dubai. Loved their Steak Diablo and Jambalaya! And of course the Sizzling Chocolate Hot Fudge cake; the best in town!

I am a super big fan of Cactus Jacks! I keep coming back every time I crave for some good old & authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere, and live music!<br/><br/>You are greeted by a friendly staff, who will accommodate you even if the place is packed. We came on a Thursday night, where they have their live band playing rock music after 8pm.<br/><br/>Once they take your orders, you are served with a complimentary basket of nachos and home made salsa. Can't express enough how addictive it is, but try to hold yourself and don't finish the whole thing. Tip: they can top it up for you :P<br/><br/>For the main course, we ordered the following:<br/><br/>Taco Mexicano - Grilled chipotle beef strips wrapped in three flour tortillas with cheese, lettuce, Picode Gallo, cassava fritos and ranchero served with Frijoles de Olla, Mexican rice, guacamole and salsa picante.<br/><br/>Jambalaya - Louisiana creole speciality. A combination of sautéed chicken, beef chorizo and vegetables simmered in chicken broth with rice and prawn skewer.<br/><br/>Both were super amazing, perfectly cooked, and just the right seasoning and spices.<br/><br/>Prices are slightly upscale, but it's worth it, as the portions are big, and the quality is excellent.<br/><br/>This place is vintage (opened in 2002), and is the right place for having fun, drinks with friends, and a good meal.

The ambience is perfect for a causal night out drinking. Good place.

So delicious, we didn't even have a chance to take a picture before digging into the delicious sizzling fajitas, enchiladas and margaritas. Our server Karyna was super friendly too, as was the entire staff. Thanks for a great first and definitely not last visit!

The food was nice. Staff very attentive. Band was rubbish! I've never heard a band kill the songs so badly! Please replace them or don't play.

Outside was amazing with the cold weather they had placed the heaters which made us feel comfortable. Food and drinks were authentic. The open area made the place a lot better since we were looking for a nice quiet place to chill with good food and sheesha.

My rating of the 4 stars or points go only towards food portions and taste and I am rating only the veggie ootions. The vibes of the restaurant look rustic but the place actually feels aged. Some more ambience and tex mexiano liveliness may be a plus factor and a crowd puller. Since it was a weekday dinner, the place was not choc o bloc, we we preferred it that way. The Mexican flavours are very obvious and fresh in the food. Will surely visit again for the margaritas and spicy cuisine.... Keep up and buck up guys....

Great for a drink at the bar using zomato gold however it is an old venue and more of a restaurant rather than a bar. Bar staff are very nice though.

This has been my favorite for a very long time! Their food is absolutely amazing, especially their Quesadilla. We also tried their chicken nachos - too much cheese! Their cocktails are very reasonable and well made. Great place for a night out with friends, the music keeps the spirits high.

We came for a quick bite here and had the chicken wings. The chicken wings had a tangy and different flavor. <br/><br/>The place is quite busy, so it is advisable to make reservations.

Average food and average service. We had gone there during Ramadan for a birthday. The service was slow and they did not have many food options. We tried the Tex mex potato jalapeno poppers and chicken supreme.

We spent a Thursday evening here and enjoyed the complimentary starters - colorful/flavorful and delicous/fresh nachos with some homestyle salsa. They also brought a mixed nuts bowl to table for all of us and it was great. We had a birthday cake ordered for a friend and they sort of missed out on the timing. But the chocolate cake tasted out of this world and just made up for everything.<br/><br/>My only gripe was that the music was alarming and way too loud for the mob sitting inside the restaurant. That needs work if possible. My actual rating is 3.7. 👍

Been there few times with family and friends. Good option specially if you have kids as you can sit in the outdoor seating area, and enjoy the food/drinks while listening to their lively band. They are one of the best places serving tex-mex cuisine in Dubai! I was bowled over by their service! Really courteous staff!! Food was good and also the portion size! They have amazing shisha - which was icing on the cake for me... and Zomato Gold on drinks! ! What more do you need for a weekend!! Rates are also pretty reasonable as compared to the other exorbitantly pricey places around Dubai! Ohh and they also serve complimentary nachos which were amazingly crisp! All in all.. total value for money. Will definitely recommend this place for a fun hangout with your gang!!

A place for a couple as well as groups. The live music is quite good. Music is not loud but rather soothing. Kudos to the band & the lady singers. <br/>When it comes to the Food, it could take an effort to finish the food item due to quantity but this is in relation to the Cactus Jack’s Vegetarian Platter, which is one to try yet subjective..The servers will provide the apt food selection as per your recommendation.<br/>Their Bullfrog is nice & Zomato Gold makes it better.

Good place to be with family or with friends , the outdoor seating has a really good set up of live music and situated in between the hotel itself . Inside dance bar as well . Good set up , great if you go at a timing after 9-10.

The experience was good, the live band was entertaining and the overall surrounding vibe was great. Only issue was the food took forever to come, as much as it was worth the wait, it took an immensely long time to come. A large variety of Mexican food to choose from, a small variety of desserts to choose from, and a large range of drinks.

Loved the ambience! We ordered fish n chips and it was yumm! A must visit place! They have a lot of variety in drinks and we dint have to wait much for the order. The nachos that they serve with salsa sauce as complimentary is amazing!!!!

I enjoyed the outdoor seating specially during the spring and winter times. There is a live band and if your in love with Mexican food this is the place to go. Good to go after a busy day in office if you want to destress with a nice drink. Staff is very friendly and quick service. Nice atmosphere.

We sat outdoors because the weather was perfect and we enjoyed the experience .. the only thing you should note is that they take a little long to serve but I presume that is because the food needs to be fresh and hot .... definitely recommend this place ....

First visit this restaurant was an utter flop with family and friends. All the dishes we ordered were too salty and overwhelming by cheese. After some years we planned to visit again to same place and it was huge success. Ordered veg fajitas and jalapeno poppers. I've been visiting Cactus Jack for the past 4 years. Staff members know me and my friends are are extremely friendly with us. But when I went there this Friday with 4 of my other friends the manager simply didn't want to accommodate us. We repeatedly requested the manager to turn at least 1 blower towards our table but he kept making lame excuses. Every table had a fan facing them, in fact one lady had a fan all to herself because of her nationality. But this manager just refused our request and was totally unfair to our table only. Never ever visiting this restaurant again!

Place is really good, ofcourse the food and the drinks too, the only sad part is the singers there..and the absurd clothing they bare, which makes the locality cheap and the crowd too. Weekends is full and nice, i suggest they must change the taste of music.

I visited cactus jack over the weekend. All was going good. We ordered the potato skins, quesidillas, the drunken beef, totillas and,o we ordered margheritas, beers and the shots platter for beverages. We were thoroughly enjoying the evening, when all of a sudden, a crowd of young looking middle easterners walked in and later one of them connected their phones to the speaker and began playing songs off their phone, all of which was Arabic music. Honestly, as an Indian who has been born and raised in Dubai, I do enjoy Arabic music as it's been a part of my life for a long time.<br/>But on this particular night, while I was with my family enjoying a night out, the continuous blaring (music was really loud) of Arabic songs began to annoy everyone seated at our table. It's okay if you're the only table in the restaurant and you hook up your phone to the speakers and play your own music. But there were other people in the restaurant and not everyone has the same taste in music.. and this is something that people who are running a restaurant should understand.<br/>This really diminished the lovely experience we were having and I hope there isn't a repeat of this again.

I was craving mexican food.. so i remembered cactus jack.. have been here before .. their food is grear.. their service is a bit slow.. but their server are very warm.. they have indoor and outdoor seating.

I had the best moment here in Cactus with my circle of friends as we enjoyed their delectable food withthe real mexican vibes. A must try here in cactus is their quesadillas, chicken supreme and fajita (im drooling while writing this review) and their frozen margarita . I like the fact that their staffs are very friendly and accomodating especial to highlight Mr. Edmond who is so pleasant and entertaininig who has a light sense of humor, me and my group had a wonderful moment while we savor the food, he sees to it that we got the best service he could offer and he is so approachable in time we change our orders.. I recommend this place to chill and dine out. will surely comeback!

Looks like most Mexican restaurants back in Houston. Food is alright. 1st margarita was decent, the rest tasted like ready made margarita mix. Sweet and for mix isn’t that hard to make. But all in all, it’s a good place for me to be, when I’m homesick.<br/>

The food was wow! The service was better. A great place to spend dinner time whether u’re with friends or family. The 2+2 offer on drinks makes Cactus Jacks a must dine place. And when the weather is cooler, they also have a massive outdoor space.

We had visited for dinner this weekend! The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and helpful! The food and cocktails though were not upto the mark! Tried the margaritas and the starter platter - both were below average! The ambience and the music also was dampening!

Came to this bar almost every night of my holiday in March such a laid back place nice beer and nice food I went to ficus witch wasn't a long walk going back in April next to but to blue sea gardens not sure on how far it is but will be visiting this place again

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Food is very nice and the ambiance outside is amazing. Live band is playing feel good songs. Staff are also amazing and accommodating. Consider choosing table outside if the weather is favorable. Must try the BBQ Spare Ribs and that Cactus Jack’s Fiesta Platter is really a feast.

We chose this place thinking there would be a dance floor, it was earlier but we dint find the day we visited. This is “the” place for mexican food!! The nachos,guacamole,creamy ranch😋. The nacho suprema(u can substitute beef with chicken),chicken wings should be definitely tried.The portion size is really filling( for two minimum), cocktail and mock tails are available and affordable.

Had ordered Paan, but they do have other good options too! <br/>We ordered the vegetarian platter - it’s good for three or four. They serve nachos, potato skins, jalapeño poppers, quesadilla, onion rings with guacamole and sour cream! Jalapeño poppers and onion rings were a disappointment, as they were extra fried and didn’t bring out the full flavors. A very rare and a good option for vegetarians at bars!<br/>Drinks are decently priced, quite a lot of variety and served well! <br/>Had wonderful time there, hoping to visit soon!

this is our family favourite restaurant. Thanks to samba buy one get one offer we visited here in Oct 2017. since then we visited at least 5 times. every time the food is great. we are vegetarians and invariably always end up.ordering veg fajitas. the quantity is enormous, food is very tasty and of highest quality. outdoor sitting area is very good and can spend hours there.

A fav for tex mex food since many years. Great place with an outdoor sitting. The food is amazing with many veg options. Prices are soft on the pocket. For drinks we have a great deal from zomato gold.

We were sitting outdoor and the ambience was amazing. The food and service is good. The only negative part was they charged a bomb for a slice of cake for a birthday. Do not think of surprising your friends with a desert. The shisha is over expensive and not worth it for its price of aed 95. We asked them to change the head but were charged for the whole shisha. Though they gave us free shots to cover up for the cake and shisha. Overall it was a good experience.

I am a huge fan of Mexican food. Well, honestly who doesn't enjoy a good plate full of fiery and delectable Mexican fare??!. Authentic Mexican cuisine is vibrant, delicious, fresh and fun. It is also known to be spicy, with the usage of an amazing array of chilies and herbs, very much like the Indian food.

First time in this restaurant to celebrate the birthday of my daughter which coincided with the restaurant's birthday. But unfortunately it was a terrible experience. The waiter made us sit outside at a corner table and then forgot to give us the menu for the next 20 mins. After our repeated effort to get the attention of the waiter we were given the menu. We took 5 mins to place our order and then there was a never ending wait again. After 45 mins my husband's meal came. After he finished his food my daughter's meals came and when they were halfway my dish came. Which I think is highly unprofessional to serve the food in stages. The food was undoubtedly good but bad service destroyed the whole experience. I can understand that the restaurant was busy but the way food was served was highly unprofessional something you wouldn't expect in a hotel. We had requested for a cake too which never came. Most of the waiters seemed very well trained in ignoring the guests except one lady who actually listened.

The trend now days is to dine at new & upcoming restaurants in UAE which have a heavy social media presence. Being a social media freak I rarely see Dubai foodies posting pics taken here. After scrolling through the entertainer I picked Cactus Jack to dine in.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>We chose to sit down outdoors as the weather was pleasant & nice. The restaurant next doors had a live band playing some light live music so got to listen them while we dinned. Chatting with our server & asking for recommendations we decided to order a chicken fajita & Chata de Pollo (a signature dish). To accompany our food we ordered a Stella Artios! As per my logic beer & Mexican food goes hand in hand.<br/><br/>We were give complimentary nachos & a salsa dip while we waited for our main course. The nachos were fresh & extremely crispy. The salsa dip on the other hand was zesty, tangy, thick & delicious. After finishing all the nachos in the bowl we were served the fajitas & the sides. By the way the Spanish word fajita means "beef strips," describing the thin, tough cut of beef. The beef cut in fajitas are usually skirt steak which is prized for its flavor! Overtime chicken, lamb & pork got included. Enough about history. The chicken fajita when brought to our table was sizzling hot & placed on heavy iron skillet. The standard sides came along with the fajitas - jalapenos, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo (salsa), Mexican rice, mashed bans & soft white flour tortillas. The fajitas once put into the soft tortilla wrap were juicy, succulent & tender. The fajitas were extremely flavorful; Cactus Jack surely knows how to marinate things right!<br/><br/>The second main course we had was something I never had before – Chata de Pollo. It’s a main course dish made up of layered tacos – and the fillings consists of seasoned chicken , veggies, frijoles rancheros (ranch\cowboy style beans) , corn enchilada , sour cream & loads of cheese! That’s tons of edibles stuffed into a single dish. The dish was cheesy, every bite has an awesome mouthful of tenderized chicken & beans. It tasted like an upgraded version of the Italian dish lasagna. I would be bold enough to say I would prefer this dish over a lasagna any day!<br/><br/>To end our meal we had a sizzling hot chocolate fudge cake. The fudge cake comes on top of a hot skillet. The desert is served with vanilla ice cream & hot thick white chocolate is poured over the fudge cake when served! Simply devouring, delicious & scrumptious.<br/><br/>No doubts I would return back here for sure as I truly enjoyed the fajitas & chata de pollo. When it comes to service I would say the service we received was decent. Our server was friendly & had a nice smile while he was conserving & making recommendations to us. Probably the service wasn’t up to the mark as it was a weekend night!

The ambience was just perfect for the winters with the band around and the mix platter appetizer was just perfect portion for 2 tummies. Good one.

In Mexico they believe that Barriga llena, corazón content, which means that a full stomach is a happy heart, and it’s evident in the food they serve.<br/><br/>I had the distinct pleasure of dining at Cactus Jack located in Millennium Airport Hotel. Cactus Jack is famous for its frozen mojitos, margaritas and fajitas. I would definitely not deny the latter at all.<br/><br/>The restaurant is tastefully done that to reflect the rustic charm of the Wild West along with the fun city life of Mexico. Props like cactus and the hanging Ristras adorn the entrance, prepping you for what’s to come.<br/><br/>The entrance is a bright yellow, and as you walk in you have a more muted setting with wooden chairs and tables. The dim lights created a very cozy and relaxed vibe. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and as the weather is getting pleasant we chose to be seated outside. The restaurant effortlessly transforms into a lounge with a dj and some good music post 11:00 p.m.<br/><br/>We started off with our welcome drinks which was a mix of watermelon &amp; mint &amp; enjoyed munching on Nachos &amp; salsa while exploring the menu.<br/><br/>When life gives you limes, garnish your margarita – and we decided to do just that and ordered for Jalapeno cucumber Margarita. It wasn’t something I liked, and hence decided to move to Mexican Lindo which was suggested by the staff and I was so happy to have taken their advice. It was just the perfect cocktail for what was to follow.<br/><br/>Nothing says Mexican like Taco’s and we ensured that we had our share of Taco’s.<br/><br/>We ordered for the Cactus Jack fajita’s with shrimp and steak. Not a conversation passed between us as we devoured the fajita. It was delectable, sumptuous and appeased our senses. The shrimp was succulent, juicy, piquant and so flavorful. I would eat it all over again. The steak was perfectly cooked. The shrimp and steak coupled with the vegetables were served on a sizzling platter and the Fajita’s did sizzle their way into my senses.<br/><br/>If you go to Cactus Jack, you have to try the Fajita’s - they are mouth watering and unavoidable.<br/><br/>In between all this we were told about the Dynamite chicken challenge and I flipped my hair and was ready to try the chicken. How spicy could spicy be, and especially since spicy food is like second nature to me, I was sure I was going nail it.<br/><br/>The challenge is called “Wings on fire” and for a reason. You have to be the first one to finish eating EIGHT spicy chicken wings and you will be rewarded with a free bucket of malt beverage.<br/><br/>It sounds like fun, and it is as well.<br/><br/>We loved how beautifully the dynamite chicken was placed in front of us. Like how can something so pretty be extremely spicy. And I was chanting ‘piece of cake” in my mind. I let my friend try first, and his reaction had me in splits.<br/><br/>I was still smug and didn’t think it would be spicy for my palate, but boy was I wrong! The first bite you take, you feel nothing but the moment you start chewing into it – the spice just bursts in your mouth and now we know why it’s called dynamite chicken.<br/><br/>Don’t say I didn’t warn you, but then again if I were you I would definitely try it.<br/><br/>We ordered our mains – Lamb Amarilla and Camarone Diablo and while we were doing so, we were told about the ‘Dentist chair’, wherein tequila will be poured in your mouth for 10 seconds on the go.<br/><br/>Lamb Amarilla was cajum marinated lamb chops served with mashed potatoes, grilled vegeatables and habanero sauce. It was a little overcooked, but tasty nevertheless.<br/><br/>Camarone Diablo was the highlight for me along with the Fajitas. Jumbo prawns marinated with garlic and olive oil were served with Chipotle, vegetables, avocado and mango salsa with diablo sauce.<br/><br/>We moved onto dessert and it was the best way to end our dinner.<br/><br/>We had Sizzling Hot chocolate fudge, which was served on a skillet. It was mesmerizing to see the fudge cake melting away to white chocolate and cajeta sauce. Not only was it mouth watering to look at, but every spoonful was a burst of flavors in the mouth.<br/><br/>We also tried Nachos de chocolate, which was novel and innovative. Baked crispy sopapila was served with hot chocolate sauce and cajeta, along with strawberry and vanilla mousse.<br/><br/>Cactus Jack is just the perfect place to unwind over Mexican food and drinks. The ambiance is relaxed and the outdoor seating is perfect for the weather now. The staff is ever smiling and always ready to help make your experience at Cactus Jack an amazing one.<br/><br/>The food, and the presentation is just amazing. The effort that the staff make towards ensuring comfort is commendable.<br/><br/>Cactus Jack is definitely on the list of my fun places to dine at.

When you are in a mood of some Mexican delicacies, or a sumptuous Sea Food Platter, Grills or in other words you can try the best Tex- Mex & Latino Cuisine available here. A complete dinner experience as I mentioned earlier in my review of DXB Grill here in Millennium Airport Hotel, where your food comes to you in very impressive presentations and the taste is divine, same is here at Cactus Jacks!

My friends and I was over on Friday night and had a nice time at the Cactus Jack.<br/>Drinks: Alcoholic - Thankfully not too diluted👍🏼We tried out the Margarita, Desperado amoung the few.<br/>Food: Meaty Spicy Tasty Yummylicious!! 👍🏼We ordered the Luciana Buffalo Wings, Cactus Jack Fiesta Platter, Steak and Prawns Fajitas.<br/>Service: Friendly and hospitable. Edmond who was our server was patient and helpful.<br/>Ambiance: Cool Comfortable 👍🏼<br/>Music: well it was just about average. The VDJ didn't seem so enthusiastic.. it just seemed like he kept playing music videos and conveniently cross fades them between videos. <br/>
