First time visited Origami - pleasantly surprised by the taste and ingredients which you could taste all in one bite, bursting with well balanced flavors . I’m quite a picky eater and sensitive to some spices and combinations , but all tasted amazing, fresh & was happy with great vegan options ! Service was also super nice.
My friend who is not vegan ordered shrimp kunafa and rolls , he also had great feedback.
since we are a Japanese food lover, we tried to dine in here yesterday. so far, this is the best japanese and decent taste that we had here in dubai. we ordered their uramaki which is spicy tuna, sunset, spider and origami signature and wow!!! everything is flavorful. it's fresh and authentic 🍣🍱 not to mention that they have a very nice and attentive waiter. it was a good experience! will definitely comeback to try another food on their menu 👍👍👍👍

It’s a lovely place for fresh food whilst sitting outdoors. Some of the dishes were not outstanding , hence deducting one star . Love the rice rolls and the food has a nice kick as well. Not the beat value meal we have had but an extremely good option for Japanese food without the stuffiness and with a great view

Being a big Sushi fan and having travelled quite a bit, I have to say this is the best sushi I've eaten in Dubai and the second best sushi I've eaten across the globe! Great service, amazing food and a MUST visit. Their japanese truffle pizza and origami signature sushi were mind blowing!

Wow. One of the few Japanese joints that’s legit and delicious. Sushi isn’t mediocre + presentation and ambience is amazing for its price! Definitely recommend the wagyu foie gras nigiri it’s amazing!

Awesome place. Staff was very friendly and attentive to your needs, excellent customer service. We had dinner here and they have both an indoor and outdoor area where you can view the fountains by Dubai Festival City. Ordered the ramen, sashimi, mochi for dessert, the soft shelled crab topped fried rice is highly recommended. And another must try was the steak. A must visit for those that love Japanese food.

For fusion sushi restaurant, this is one of the best within what I tried. (Mori Sushi at downtown is also my favorite!) Salmon salad and Black Cod Maki were just awesome. Wasabi Edamame was one of the kind which I never tried so far thus interesting. Well tatami-imitated but Arabic style of seating is also memorable. Try when you come over to Fishing Harbour!

Sushi is known for being expensive. This is usually down to the price of quality fish, the variety of fish served and the skill involved in making sushi. The sushi was very nice and it’s the perfect little date spot to take someone special. My favorite was the black cod sushi roll! I’ve been to this place many times and I haven’t come across a better “Asian fusion style” sushi cafe in Dubai. 10/10 for quality.

This Japanese fusion focussed restaurant boasts some pretty inspiring dishes on their menu. The prices are reasonable for the quality and innovative flavour combinations they offer.

I never was a Sushi lover, Origami was my shifting point. Their Tiger Tempura is what got me into Sushi to be exact! I find myself craving it every once in a while. Loved the Ambience, the staff were welcoming and attentive.
The crab stick salad was good but has a pinch of chili and the new style salmon sashimi ; the spicy tuna is very bad .. it’s extra spicy ! Made my tummy hurt .. and the California maki was ok but the best one was the origami signature .. nice to come before summer starts ..
My mom was visiting and she’s a sushi lover so I decided to take her here since the weather was nice. The place has a great sea view going for it, and the view is complemented by the really great food that started flowing in. We tried a bunch of rolls and topped it up with a warm banana dessert and some mochi — perfect ending with great sunset views.
We had an exciting dinner with a beautiful view.

One of the best sushi places in Dubai that doesn't cost an arm and leg to enjoy. Very fresh sushi with reasonable prices. The waiters are so friendly, and outdoor seating is awesome at sunset. The cheesecake mochi was the cherry on top of the wonderful experience we had at Origami. Will definitely be back!
The Best Japanese Fusion food i ever had. It was our first visit to this restaurant last night and we all enjoyed their excellent food. From starter to maincourse and dessert! Yumm! It's all heavenly good! Plus, the friendly ambiance and relaxing view of the marina. 😍 Kudos to a great team (Origami dining crews, manager and chefs) who delighted us all during our visit.

"Extraordinary food plus extraordinary customer service!" They have the fresh sushi served right to your plate. I was alone when I visited Origami Sushi, I recommend you sit in the bar area, it's entertaining to see the chef and the crew prepare your food. Chef Shiela was so accommodating, she showed me how my sushi was prepared and how the other food in the menu looks like. I didn't feel lonely the staff keep me company. They also clean their working area after each sushi preparation.
I saw it all because I was sitting in the bar! Ambiance? You will have the view of the beach, yachts and jet boats if you sit outside. I had the Origami Signature Sushi, Crab Salad and the Abe No Seimei Mocktail. Can't describe them in details but I can assure you they are fresh and mouth-watering. Will come back again for sure!

The food is so delicious, with every bite we were in awe! Some of the dishes we had to order a second time, too good! We were sat by the bar and the staff is extremely friendly and nice, the head chef is amazing, really talented!! Def recommend this place ! Will come back here 1000%!
Best sushi ever. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. I would recommend visiting the restaurant in winter because their outdoor seating has a perfect view. Otherwise, seating inside will end you up with the kitchen’s smell, but, it’s definitely worth it.
I recently visited Origami for the first time in Al Souq mall, Um Suqeim. Their restaurant is a fusion of Emarati culture & really delicious Japanese food. The restaurant has a balcony that offers sensational views of the Jumeirah beach & Burj Al Arab and especially with the weather cooling down now, I can imagine that it would only be more and more enjoyable in the coming months. Make sure you try the rock shrimp, crab salad, volcano sushi, prime tenderloin with chilli teriyaki and of course finish off with some delicious mochi ice cream (I would recommend the coconut & salted caramel flavours). The restaurant is a little bit on the expensive side, but it really is worth visiting! I would also recommend that you visit during the week as they can get pretty busy on the weekends.

Delighted to meet a friend for lunch, I made plans to check out Origami (located in a neatly tucked away part of Jumeirah Beach at a mall I’d never heard of, let alone been to, but have driven past countless times). Said ‘mall’ has a marina and a number of dining outlets (and, as the continual struggle in Dubai goes, not enough covered parking). I found a spot in the paid lot behind the venue and walked somewhat awkwardly through the world’s smallest parking garage™ to the location.
t's not something I'm in the habit of doing, being more of the mindset that an empty plate is a compliment already... However, I was recently (in a Japanese restaurant in Dubai ) moved to ask the waitress to thank the chef, as the food was just thatgood (a perfectly simple dish, at that).
Is this something people here do at all? Often? Never? I've only really ever seen it on the telly, or half in jest... keep it up guys, I can't just wait to come back..... Origami is the best Japanese restuarant to go DUBAI .... NO SINGLE DOUBT ABOUT THAT

I loved the service , the place , the menu and most importantly the quality of the fish in such weather. I checked the temperature and it was stored perfectly well. This is a Japanese place i recommend all year long in dubai. I am not paid to write this and i am known for being honest always no matter what. The ambient is cozy, small and intimate, not the same "hotel style" of Dubai.
The food is simply amazing! Everything is made with perfection and taste extremely good.
Some of the dishes in the menu are similar to dishes u can find in famous Japanese restaurant in Dubai (such as Nobu or Zuma). My favourite is definitely the Yellowtail Roll. I just wish they could deliver with Deliveroo! :)... Hope they will work out.

It's tradition meets retro, you get the whole japanese experience where it's the most popular spot that you end up on a waiting list, but the counter was the next best thing where you get to see the chefs talents in crafting the art! Shiela who showed so much passion in creating our dish which is a reason it tastes delicious, she created it from the heart! ❤
Service was fantastic, smiles all around, a bit pricy BUT the portions and mouth watering taste will make up for it, for that i am satisfied and would definitely come back. Maybe next time i would be able to sit on the traditional seating 😍
Really good! I love sushi and I searched for a good one with a good price also in Dubai. This one is the right one! It is really worth it. The sushi is delicious and it is not even expensive. If this is not enough there is also to add that the restaurant has a balcony with a view on burj arab!

The waiters had the full knowledge about all the items in the menu and they were so helpful. The outdoor seating has a nice view ( we were inside as it was too hot to sit outdoor).
This is literally my new favorite sushi place, we ordered crab salad, volcano, samurai, tiger tempura, and edamame. It is on the pricy side but it's worth it I would definitely go again for the volcano sushi it's the best along with the crab salad which was delicious. There's a nice view outdoors but since it's hot now in Dhabi we couldn't sit there yet it will be perfect during winter for sure.
Visited with a friend, ordered a rather large variety of rolls. We really enjoyed the meal however it was slightly on the expensive side. Location is also a bit tricky.
This place never disappoints. I can truly say i have been here 10 times and i am still impressed with the quality of food and service. my fav item in the menu is Tiger Tempura.
Honestly this place deserves a 6.0. Their sushi is out of this world, their outdoor seating is lovely (not in summer obviously). We ordered the tiger tempura, volcano and crab salad. Service was great and very timely. Their value for money is just right and I would definitely go back a second, third and fourth time.

This has got to be the best quality sushi in Dubai - on top of this, the outdoor section overlooking the harbour makes for a very romantic setting, especially this time of year when the weather is so perfect for sitting outdoors.
The presentation of the sushi platter's is stunning and the choice on the menu is extremely extensive but guaranteed whatever you choose, you will not be disappointed! Aside from sushi, I would definitely recommend trying the Black Cod - the perfect balance of sweetness and it is cooked to perfection that it literally melts on your mouth - unbelievable!
I only wish it were a little cheaper so that I could eat there on a more regular basis, but it is definitely a must visit for sushi fans.

Origami sushi has variety of delicious dishes and maki rolls, we tried different dishes such as crispy rice with salmon, crab salad, volcano roll, sunrise roll and sunrise roll with cheese, moreover we tried many beverages and everything was delicious. In addition, the service is excellent, all the staff are friendly. The outdoor sitting area in the restaurant has a very nice view on the sea and burj al arab.
Lovely view, awesome food, impeccable service. Stumbled upon this place for dinner because Bu Qtair next door was jam-packed and couldn't be any more glad we did. Highly recommend their Miso-based Seafood Soup, Rock Shrimp, and Origami Signature. We also had their Crab Salad and Crispy Rice Tuna/Salmon (you can have it mixed) but those can be skipped. Looking forward to having brunch here next time!
Stunning views when u r seating outside and food was good too. Went for early dinner. Service was good and prompt. Ordered:
1. Rock shrimp: good balance in the sauce - not too sweet and just a hint of spiciness. Good portion of shrimps. The sesame seeds provided extra deliciousness..
2. Lettuce and avocado salad: very generous amount of avocado with lettuce and slightly tart sauce
3. Sunset maki: spicy tuna with salmon and cheese - good combination

A lot of thought went into their decor. And the ambience is as enjoyable as the food.
I have heard a lot of positive things about this place and finally got to try it. I cam with a bunch of friends and we ordered almost everything on the menu. The best part was the Wagyu Striploin and the Crab Salad (they really know how to make it). Sushi was of average quality, nothing spectacular to be raving about. The service is great and the food comes really fast although its too pricy for a sushi joint.
If you are craving good sushi with a twist, in a casual setting, then this is the place to go in Dubai. We went on a Friday afternoon and sat outside, you get to enjoy the sun with a bit of a view of the water. We ordered:
- Kunafa Prawns: yum!
- Sashimi Tartar with Yuzu Dressing: delicious and nicely presented, topped with black tobiko which gave a nice extra texture and flavour
- Unagi Nigiri: pretty good
- Tuna Tataki with Jalapeño: enjoyable, the tuna had an interesting texture about it, it was almost like smoked salmon
- Crispy Shrimp Tempura Maki and the Signature Roll: both were very good
We wanted to order the wagyu foie gras as well but they weren't serving it that day. Overall the food and service were good, but it would have been nice to have a glass of wine with the meal. Considering the casual setting without alcohol, the prices are a bit on the high side but the food is worth going there for.

This is definitely my favorite sushi restaurant in Dubai. Their sushi is unique in its presentation and it's very flavorful and tasty. Their waiters are extremely friendly and we always get our food surprisingly fast. The only downside to this restaurant is the location as it wasn't very noticeable until we searched for it. It's on Kite Beach but in an area that mostly people don't notice. The overall design of the restaurant is super funky though and they've got a seating option on the floor for a traditional Japanese experience. I always leave here very happy with my meal.

I have been craving sushi for a very long time. I usually go to Zuma for sushi but then I told my self why not try this restaurant. Every one of my friends went there and it's only me who didn't. When I went there, I was completely astonished with the beautiful interiors that were intricately designed. There is a bar, a seating table, and a Japanese sitting. We choose the Japanese sitting since it was the most comfortable from all of the three options. The food blew my mind away. I have clearly under estimated this place. The service is so professional and let's not forget the staff; they are so helpful and kind. We ordered the crab salad, rock shrimp and the wagyu chips which all were delicious (5/5). For rolls, we ordered the volcano roll (which was average 3/5), Rock shrimp maki roll (soo tasty 5/5), and another roll I don't remember. We ordered the steak medium well. The sauce was rich in taste ; it was scrumptious. The meat was so tender and warm. Loved it! 5/5. I'll be definitely visiting them soon.

The place has a decent size outdoors, which is amazing in the cooler months and a very well designed indoors for the summer months. They serve an extensive menu with everything that I have tried tasting very good.
They are bit expensive for a casual dining spot but that kind of view doesn’t come cheap ☺. The staff and service are very good, with never a reason to complaint.

they reopened two weeks ago , unfortunately their rock shrimp is not as good as it was. love the view though and how they have a dining area designed in an arabic way but the ac kinda does not work so it tends to get kinda warm inside too ?

And the Mexican roll became one of my faves it's one of their recent additions

Oh let's not forget the wagyu potato sadly is too small :( the dish comes with three pieces so each person should order one 😳 if u really like it
And let's not forget the edamame the spicy one might taste a bit different with their spicy sauce and crab salad!
And for dessert don't forget the coconut Mochi well sometimes they don't have it but ur lunch/dinner isn't complete without it
FOOD - Best Japanese restaurant I've tried in Dubai so far. Their Sushi and Rock Shrimp are the best. Wagyu in Potato Chips is a must try also!
SERVICE - Good. Chefs are Filipinos.
PLACE - Perfect place to dine-in within the vicinity of Umm Suqeim or Burj Al Arab.
PRICE - Expensive but worth it! :)
Sushi craving? Origami is the answer! Their food is on point. Their makis are amazing and just the right size. The dynamite shrimp was dynamite 😉. The crispy rice with salmon needed a bit more but their sashimi is fresh and delicious! Spicy tuna maki is the way to go along with beef tataki. And for dessert, green tea mochi! We would recommend the chocolate mochi for a sweet treat. Definitely oried my gami! It is a bit pricy but worth the treat.
I am currently on the hunt for the best sushi in town, and this place sure makes the list. The decor on the inside is very unique, a mix of Japanese and Arab vibes. The view is very enjoyable if you choose to sit outside, but beware for the heat in hot months. It appeared that they had a slight problem with the air-conditioning and had to keep the place cool using a fan, luckily we were the only people in the restaurant and it was enough.
Their prices are slightly higher than your ordinary sushi place like Sumo, but if you share the dishes with multiple people the pricing is fair, especially in terms of the quality of their food. We were 3 people and paid AED100 per person for 4 sets of 6 maki rolls and 1 edamame.
Although I haven't tried any of their main courses, I will definitely be back. A good 4.0 rating for this very lovely place.
Must haves: rock shrimp, hairy prawns, crab salad, Seaweed salad, Volcano maki, caterpillar roll, o signature roll, black cod skewers.. Spicy tuna roll, tiger tempura roll. Sea bass mango sashimi and the spicy edamame. The sushi at Origami is a little heavier than most places. It's what i consider modern-junk sushi... nevertheless still great!
By far the best sushi in town variety of sushi and drinks. Reminded me of the sushi i had in Vegas. Clean and doesnt leave a strong fishy after taste the popcorn shrimp tasted amazing and fresh i also had a pina colada which in my opinion too small for the price i paid. I highly recommend it the place is abit small but has outdoor seating. The location is nice too its facing the harbor. Come in between 1pm and 3pm less crowded parking is available outside across the street and wifi is also available.
